Dominique did my pedicure today! She hand painted a snowman on my big toes. She was awesome!

Two layered nails. Cuticles not done correctly.

Huge dated salon with ample space however the service is less spectacular. Stations are cluttered and in two rows on top of each other. Quantity not quality is the message here. Technicians are either older and shaky or young but both seemed to be inexperienced employees. This is a Male run Vietnamese establishment that has employees and customers monitored. Each working in their own spot. Limited English speakers too. The music was interesting too. My difficulty was with the poorly done job. Polish that's drying up is diluted and the results are faded diluted dense nails. See pictures and you might note that the top coat doesn't even cover edges of nails. Leaving a visible split on the polish. Color doesn't reach top of nails either because technician didn't know what he was doing. Got polish on my skin too and only used his finger to clear it off. I would not recommend for it is as expensive as other places that actually know what they are doing.

First off, the swatches do not match. We picked out a light pink and and orange-red color. What we got was mauve and red. Even after complaining and having them start a new color over it was wrong. The whole pedicure lasted maybe 20 minutes. My feet didn't get to soak at all. Worst of all my feet look just as bad, maybe worse than when I went in. The top of my friend toes were scrubbed raw though. First and last time to go there. Don't waste the money.

Had a regular nail salon I went to and same manicurist before covid. I went back recently doe the first time and he rushed me out the door doing a terrible job, and I had an appointment. I walked into Star Nails and they immediately seated me for a full. Hannah did such a great job I will never go to anyone else again

Broken thumb nail before it broke completely and I lost the entire length above the nail bed

Summary: They don't know how to do SNS/dip powder correctly and my nails were ruined. I came here last week with my mother in law as a type of bonding/girls' day activity. I was visiting from Atlanta, where I regularly get my nails done (specifically, I do dip powder on natural nails). My mother in law basically never gets manis/pedis and I thought it would be nice if just the two of us went together to be pampered, so my MIL asked her friends for recommendations and they said this was a good place to come. Our pedis were performed simultaneously side by side, and honestly, there isn't really a way to mess up a pedicure with regular polish, so our pedicures were totally fine. We had a brief hot stone massage that honestly didn't do much- the stones are so hot that the nail techs can't really hold on to them for too long. If they had heat mitts on to properly massage with the stone it would probably be more effective. But I will say it was nice, since I haven't gotten that before anywhere. The color selection was not great for the pedis either. We were given one swatch tower to choose from. I just picked a shimmery pink. After our pedis, we were promptly separated from one another where we couldn't see or hear each other. That wasn't the nicest especially since they knew we would be coming together and that we were having two different types of manicures (we had a pre-scheduled appointments and were not walk-ins). Of course, since SNS is the more time intensive process, this means I was separated from her for about an hour. So much for bonding time. My tech began the process of removing my already-existing SNS. He used the dremel bit that has the spiky bits on it and it HURT. I kept squealing and squirming and telling him it was hurting me and he was confused, asking me if I was particularly sensitive. I'm not! Instead of switching the dremel for a gentler bit to buff off the top layer of SNS to soak off, he kept going. Then he wrapped my fingers in foil to get the rest off. Since they didn't have the color I wanted to do, I settled for a glitter dip powder for all my nails, which I absolutely have done before in the past in Atlanta with no issues. He started off immediately with the glitter- no base at all. I thought that was unusual but figured he would know what he was doing. He did 3 layers of glitter, shaped my nails, and then put on 1 layer of activator and declared I was finished. I looked at my nails and saw they were horribly thin- people who do SNS know that typically SNS results in a "thicker" nail which is actually something a lot of people don't like, but that's what protects the nails and lets you grow natural ones long with SNS. I pointed this out and he said "Yes, they're really thin. It's because of the glitter. I'll do a UV Gel top coat." I stopped him and said no thank you, I do SNS all the time and never do a gel top coat. I ran my fingers over the glitter and it was horribly bumpy. I asked him to do another layer of top coat and instead he buffed my nails and then added a layer of activator again... Apparently they don't have SNS top coat here because when I asked where it was he said "no that's the top coat we have." The only compromise he was willing to do was to do a gel top coat, but like I said, you don't do that for SNS anywhere in Atlanta, there's a special SNS top coat that's very thick and glossy... My fingers were also totally coated in glitter and the tech did a half attempt to remove it and then said if I just scrubbed it in the sink it would come off on its own. So my mother in law and I left, both disappointed. The same day, my entire long thumb nail broke off above the nail bed. I couldn't return because it was the NYE holiday and I left town the next day. Giant pieces of my SNS crumbled off throughout the week leaving my nails exposed. They kept flexing (SO PAINFUL) because the acrylic was so weak and thin. I was shedding glitter everywhere for days including while cooking. I made it exactly one week before I came to my usual salon in Atlanta where I re-did my nails and I had to cut all of my nails short since at this point I had lost 3 nails. I did glitter again and my nails are glossy, smooth, and thick because they were applied properly this time. I would not recommend Star Nails at all for SNS because they clearly do not know how to apply it correctly.

Dominique does the best pedicure ever! She is great with ingrown toenails and uses hot stones for a regular pedicure.

Quality poor. My pedicure is always awful. My feet are more rough when I leave. Tip always needs to be cash.

I've been coming here for 3 years and love it. It's been great to have a dedicated place for my mani/pedis that always does a great job.

The establishment is clean and spacious…read more The staff extremely friendly and go beyond. Had an elderly person with me and they were extremely tentative and welcoming and made sure they were happy with her service.

Rushed and unprofessional experience - will not be returning…read more I've been to Escape Nail Salon several times in the past, both with appointments and as a walk-in, and I've usually had good experiences. Unfortunately, this recent visit left me very disappointed. My group and I walked in around 3:30 PM without an appointment, just hoping to see if they had time since they don't close until 7. From the moment we arrived, the staff seemed rushed and uninterested, as if they just wanted us in and out as quickly as possible. I received a basic pedicure with gel nail and a gel manicure -- totaling about $130 with tip. What really stood out (in a negative way) was how my manicure was handled. Instead of taking me to a nail table like the rest of my group, the gentleman did my manicure while I was seated for my pedicure. Nail shavings ended up all over me, my chair was shut off, and the experience felt messy and anything but relaxing. I had shown the technician a photo of the nail design I wanted, and while I understand that the result may not be identical, the final look didn't resemble the photo at all. The color was completely off, and despite me expressing that I didn't like the polish, he continued to seal the nails. On top of that, the acrylic shape was chunky, bumpy, and crooked -- far from clean. Initially, I was going to let it go, but after sharing my experience with several friends in the Wellen Park area, I was surprised to hear that they had almost identical experiences -- including having their manicures done while sitting in the pedicure chairs, rushed service, and the same unprofessional attitude. Although the salon is clean and I've had decent visits in the past, this one was disappointing from start to finish. For the price, the quality and service were not even close to acceptable. Unfortunately, I won't be returning, and I can't recommend this salon based on my recent experience.
