I also have to give props to who I think was the manager because this was a bittersweet party. My brother just passed away, but I still wanted to celebrate the kids with our family and my soon to be daughter-in-law's family even though we had such heartbreak. It was a very difficult party for myself and my Mom And Dad. The manager did the best he could for us. He even opened the doors so that we could see outside because originally I had a reservation inside because my brother could not be outside in the heat nor in the sun . So we kept the reservation inside, but he opened both doors for us and that was awesome. It was the perfect blend of small town good times with good music. This little down home spot really brings in some great music of all genres. So when I saw that they were playing this random Millersville venue not all that far away I was instantly intrigued, and then I was even more sold when I saw that the venue also brewed their own beer. I also loved that it was a non-Ticket Master venue that used Eventbrite to sell tickets without an insane amount of hidden fees. And when I checked it out it was a hidden gem of a pleasant surprise. Unless you go to Millersville University, the area that the venue is at is one that you might not frequent. But Phantom Power is one of those few other reasons to visit since it delivers a fine assortment of local flavor events and national touring acts. Regular events include things like gothic/industrial dance parties, comedy nights, a Kegs and Eggs weekend brunch event, or just chilling in their outdoor beer garden on good weather days. I would absolutely go to things like these if Millersville was even closer! But on the flip side Phantom Power has also been seeing a good surge of national acts coming through thanks to WXPN taking notice for shows and them just being a fun and reliable space which I'll get to. In addition to Foxy Shazam I've seen big local names like Hop Along and mewithoutyou, indie acts like Delta Spirit and Sondre Lerche, Industrial and Punk bands like Front 242 and Reverend Horton Heat, and WTF WoW shows like Tim Cappello from Lost Boys (I still believe! - https://youtu.be/LpuwcINDHnQ) on their current and past lineup. It kind of reminds me of pleasantly filled memory venues of yesteryear like the Trocadero, only with a better beer list! Once we made our way through the lot to the venue we realized how big it is. Outside of their brunch event, they don't have a menu of their own, but I love the food truck connections they have and really wish I could remember the name of the BBQ truck that had those glorious smoked wings! The on-site brewed beer was as much of a hidden gem as the music venue since we enjoyed IPAs, stouts, pilsners, ESBs, and some other good varieties. The one suggestion I have is that, with a music venue of its caliber that also has a good beer list, it would be useful for them to have more sheld space to leave cups on during a jam-packed show like the one we were at, Foxy Shazam is one of those good energy rock bands that I would have enjoyed without good sound or lighting. But the fact that they had both in spades definitely helped. Now that I know this hidden gem is a success I'm checking their Facebook and Eventbrite pages (they don't actually seem to have their own site outside of those) for eye-catching shows, and you should do the same!

I went to my second music concert in the DMV area at The Recher after meeting Chrystal of Anoxia at The Baltimore Soundstage and getting information about her My Phase Days concert in The Recher in May 2024. It was an amazing concert with many music artists paying homage to bands like Evanescence and Bring Me The Horizon. We saw a lot of local music artists in the Baltimore, Maryland area and started going to see their concerts in the DMV area. January 2025. We visited The Recher to see local music artists we were not familiar with except for one who played in the May 2024 My Phase Days concert. It was also a birthday concert for the Rapolla Entertainment's owner Nic. It was the music entertainment business that promoted both concerts we attended in The Recher. Parking is easy to find at The Recher and is free in the parking garages on the weekend. The Recher is a brief walk away from the parking garage nearby. The concert venue is mid size and very clean for a concert venue. Drink prices are fair. Sound quality is excellent. The music artists we met there are professional, passionate about their music, and amicable. The crowds there have always been easy to navigate and friendly.
