Spoke to the manager and he argued that it's not their fault and they only have one scanner and the employee is new so she's learning. Immediately after he walks away and hides in the back. We usually go to Staples for lamination services, and overall it's been a solid option. Pricing is pretty cheap for standard lamination, which is great. Just a heads up -- if you need something done on the spot instead of scheduling it, they do charge a higher rush fee. I will start this review by saying that I very rarely shop in this store for supplies, but I order a lot online as far as printing and posters. The employees are always very nice and everything I've ordered has always come out exceptionally. It's an easy in and out process and everything can be handled online. I honestly came to Staples because of the Staples Baddie, also known as the Staples Queen, on TikTok, and I am so glad that I came here for my office needs. I got my college announcement board made here for same day pickup, and it came out nicely and was very affordable. One thing I want to point out is that I would prefer the staff peel off the tape holding the invoice onto the board more gently, since it did take off a bit of the back of the board. But that is just me being OCD. I also got documents printed on premium paper, and I do not have to worry about the ink spreading if it rains, because it stays on! On top of that, you can recycle your old or broken laptop at Staples and get credit for it. I actually used my credits to save a few dollars on my next purchase. I felt safe recycling my laptop there without having to worry about my privacy being compromised. Customer service was top notch too. I came here to return an Amazon package and they don't really have good signage for where you need to go. A nice lady at the register directed me because I clearly looked lost. But she told me "it's over by copy and print" so I stood where it said the big sign "copy and print". No one was at that counter and I noticed to the right of me a longer line and people with Amazon boxes so then I realized ok I am in the wrong line? Again no big clear sign that was the Amazon return line. You would think being an Amazon hub return center it would be easier to locate. When I got closer towards the front THEN I saw the Amazon return sign. before that I noticed this old man who was in the line I was supposed to be in got redirected that he was in the wrong line so he left that line and just stood for about 10 mins at the other counter while NO ONE said anything to him. I felt bad as he stood patiently and went to find someone to help him out. Someone finally came. When I approached the counter, I was greeted by a nice young man. I needed to get a few copies made and needed to use their copier. I had to get assistance and there was this girl going around asking people if they needed help. WOW I as so impressed by her! She actually was coming around helping customers on her own without us searching for someone. I drove across town to print some business materials. I have always had a good experience in the past except that most of the printers were out of service. This time, I needed my materials printed on card stock. I only needed 20 copies. It would not have taken long. There were 3 employees in the copy/shipping area of the store. One was taking the shipping customers, the other two were on their phones texting. I asked to get some help with my print job. The employee told me that I would have to wait until the next day. I already drove 20 minutes to get there. Then I would have to drive back home and another round trip tomorrow. They lost my business and did not seem to care. Ran in here on short notice to get something printed for New Year Eve! Do you know how nerve-racking it is to try and get something printed?. I was stressing out that I wouldn't have time to get it printed. I had tried to get my order done online and then picked up when it was done but the turn around time was two days and I needed it this evening. I called the store and asked if they were still printing and they said until 6:00. It was 5:45! I parked and was in the store by 5:47 pm. The manager welcomed me and told me where I could print, he even helped me connect to my google drive so I could get my pages printed. Once I was connected it took maybe two minutes to pull up my items and get them printed! I was so relieved and excited to be able to get my pages printed. I have been a customer of Staples in Summerville, SC for 25 years. Today I went in to buy printer ink and forgot a $10 coupon I received from the printing department when I dropped off a package for UPS. I asked the clerk in the printing department for another coupon and explained I left the one they gave me last week at home. She refused and I had to drive home, retrieve the coupon, to make the purchase. There was no empathy or customer service. When I tried to use the coupon I was informed by a different clerk HP ink was excluded. You would think the woman in the printing department could have told me especially after I told her I wanted to use it to buy printer ink and the ink was in my hand. I'm switching to Amazon. The service at this location is one of extremes... Sometimes you receive exceptional service and sometimes the service is so bad that you never want to come back to the store. We shop here primarily for the soda stream canisters. Sometimes we just deal with Walmart's customer service desk to get our CO2 canisters instead of dealing with Staples. Enter at your own risk.
