It is easy to be good when everything is going good...but show me a manager when all hell breaks loose. Today everything that could go wrong with my print order, did. A broken print machine, then a lack of communication ...then a complete miscommunication....long story short , the manager Jen at Staples of Parsippany took a completely irate customer (me) and made me into a loyal customer. She literally had someone drive the print order to a different Staples location, print it, fold it, and drove it to my house..... and for all of the inconvenience , offered me a $20 coupon. Sadly, this print shop used to have an amazing team, but it seems like nearly everyone left or got laid off this season Now it really is a shadow of its former glory, and I will not hasten to return. These days they appear to be very understaffed in print department, usually with only 1 person at a time - which contributes to stress, wait times, and complete unavailability to help. Print tasks that can be considered simple, such as resizing an image and printing it on a page, are met with a request to leave and place the order online instead, because it is 'impossible.' Meanwhile, the previous team had easily done the same task in minutes. The above dissuasion has repeated itself three times or more; I have lost count due to the consistency of it. It seems they find it easier to turn a customer away than to help them; it feels like every time I come in, it's 5 minutes till closing and they are concerned with rushing you out the door, even in the 10 in the morning or 1 in the afternoon. As this happens over and over again with increasingly simple requests, it would be foolish to continue coming here expecting any work to be done. I am sad because I have been a loyal customer for 12+ months, coming in for all types of jobs. I am hopeful that the New Year will bring new coworkers, enthusiasm, and a balanced team again, but I don't think I will be coming back to see it. read more

Less than stellar customer service. Searched for a laptop charger for 15 minutes and no one helped as I listened to two associates talk about video games. I thought I was being pranked and even Looked up at the cameras gesturing for someone to help, and when the product wasn't where they said it would be. I have been in this store several times and had similar disappointing service. I have stared at associates for 45 seconds before they acknowledge me. Management, make sure all cell phones are away on the floor. Discourage fraternizing, make staff excited about the products and finding the right solution for customers. Empower employees to make decisions on their own; calling a manager for every non-usual transaction and not instructing the employee about the best outcome isn't helping anyone grow. I have made a few purchases and a few returns recently and a manager has been involved in every single one. Hire secret shoppers and increase your response time to customers. This human to human contact will be imperative to retaining your customers. I come to staples to get advice on which products to buy, not to be told a possible location for an item, with no promise of actually carrying the product. I would rather go on amazon than subject myself to the level of service that you find sufficient. I want you to do better, I challenge you to do better. read more

It's a Staple for crying out loud so what could they possibly do to get more than an average score? My daughter and son actually LOVE going shopping for school supplies so it wasactually a fun little trip. After filling the cart with paper, notebooks, pens, dividers, etc, etc, etc., I was shocked at how we had racked up $200+. I can't IMAGINE what buying supplies are going to be like when they go to college. Geez... Seriously though, this location is convenient, the parking lot is huge, and you can find what you need easily here. read more

I don't use public printing services much, so as a rookie, I was open to all the information I could get. I was assisted by Martin at the printing department, and he was very helpful. Helped me get the best pricing for my flyers by placing the order on the computer. He didn't have to tell me all that, as I was ready to just order, but he did so anyway to get me the better price. Additionally, while my flyers were being printed, I was browsing the store for a couple other things I needed, and he went out of his way to come find me when my flyers were complete. Can't speak for everyone else's experience, but Martin's customer service was exceptional! read more

Bought 2 epson printers a month apart based on staples recommendation. Using auto delivery and the printer is to read when my ink is low. Function not working and getting wrong colors. Not getting the color I need. I was told I could return the wrong ink to the store. Been here (still here) trying to do return. I have the email receipts and documentation saying I could do return. Customer service has no clue how to do the return. Even have a manager working on it. Staples is blaming epson for the problem and epson is blaming staples. Not happy to be spending my lunch hour doing this. Not the first time I've dealt with incompetence at Staples. read more

I like this store as much as you can like a chain office supplier. Whenever I need something here, I can be in & out in under 5 minutes. The staff is so helpful! They direct me right to what I need, explain any questions I have, and they're always smiling. And they seem to have at least one "expert" on everything - from cameras, to printers, to notebooks, to bags. It's a nice, convenient place to shop. There's tons of parking (it's a huge lot), but they share with Modell's, Noodle Chu (delicious!), & Home Depot. read more

I do not use the the print / copy much but thought this place would be faster and simple than doing it myself. And since needed the photos fast. I had hoped it would not be an issue. Dropped some things off to have placed on label paper. And they told me in two hours. Came back 3 hours later and it had not even been started. They had one lady working when I dropped it off and the same lady alone when came to pick it up. Staples of all know not to promise something that you can not do in the time frame. And since time was not what I had it really through everything off for me. So now I sit and wit for my pictures. Hope next time I can give them a better review. But I will not use them when strapped for time. read more

So I was nervous but I took a chance on Staples and they delivered. I placed the order at 7:30 am online and on my way to work around 8:15 am. I ordered premium, glossy business cards from this Staples and the woman working the print station calls me and tells me it's ready to be picked up on the same day - cool, that's awesome, so fast! Only to find out once I see them that they're standard and matte - not what I ordered. I called them back and THEN she tells me they didn't have the premium or glossy paper and that they would refund me the difference since what I ordered was more expensive. But if they didn't have the paper, why not call me in the first place and explain the situation? I would've understood. And when she called me, she could have TOLD ME THEN what happened. This is an example of sheer laziness on this employee's part. Would not recommend anyone ordering business cards from here. If I didn't call, she would never had told me and would have let me be the fool. read more

Customer service? I stood by the copying/printing desk waiting to get help on a relatively large print order. I stood there about 5 minutes. Several employees were in the back area. No one came forward to ask if they could assist me. One guy got up looked directly at me and just stood there. I left the store, and will not go back with my print business. I also had a few other things to purchase. When I am done typing here I am just going on Amazon and order them instead of giving a local store my business. I'm reading these reviews and am completely surprised. I think sometimes people on get on these sites to complain, vs. customers who have a good experience. I've been to this Staples several times and have had no problems whatsoever. It's clean and well-organized, and I've found the people working there to be friendly and helpful. In fact, this summer, a young woman at the copy center (Audrey was on her name tag), was incredibly helpful and went above and beyond for retail store employee. I was thoroughly impressed. read more

I have used the staples print and copy center twice now. The first time was a business card order which had to be redone repeatedly because the dimensions stated on their website were off. The second was a simple poster order which I was told would be ready before 5pm. I arrived shortly before 5, only to be told they screwed up on the printing because their laminator got stuck and it would be another hour. NOT HAPPY. read more

This Staples is worth driving from Morris Plains for. The one on Route 10 is crap and Morristown is a little cramped and poorly organized. This location has well lit isles and they're well stocked. Even 4 days before the start of school nearly all the items were in stock and neatly organized on the shelves. The isles are wide enough to get two carts past each other. read more

I am calling this store to see if they have a certain item in the store.. The guy puts me on hold and never gets back I wait a total of 19 min (I'm on computer doing my work so not really keeping track of time.. ) I call back a 2nd time and ask to speak to a manager. I am put on hold again.. This time whoever answered the phone never presses the hold button so I can hear him talking to customers.. It's another 15 and nothing.. I call headquarters to let them know about their customer service.. I look at the house phone and and its 22 minutes!! A PATTERN OF INCOMPETENCE, LIES, RUDENESS & COVER UPS I went into this store on Thursday to ship a package via UPS. I was "helped" by a man who was the Assistant Manager named ERIC. As it turns out, Eric put an incorrect label on the package. (My name, with someone else's address & phone number as a return address.) When I got home, I called the store to speak with ERIC. He said he would generate a new label, and e-mail me the new shipment receipt right away. Several hours passed, and no e-mail. When I called the store back I got a woman named STEPHANIE who was rude, dismissive, short-tempered and nasty. She said she didn't know when Eric would be back from dinner, and was too busy to look up if there was a new label printed or a new receipt generated. She didn't know when the Store Manager would return, and didn't know who the regional manager of this store was. I called another Staples store to get that information. It seems that a man named Mike Dugan is their regional manager, and his office SURPRISE is in the Parsippany store. What are the chances that STEPHANIE, who claimed to be a supervisor (so she had been with the company for more than a week I suppose) didn't know the name of the Regional Manager, when in fact, the man's office is in this store? I went back to the store to find ERIC, who gave me a copy of the new shipping receipt. The next day, I come to find that according to UPS, there is no tracking information for my package. There is no record from the newly developed receipt. After some thought and concern, I entered the number of the WRONG shipping receipt into the UPS system, and sure enough - out comes the delivery information. ERIC in fact, has LIED. He never put any new label on this package. Unless someone has an explanation as to how there was no information from the new label in their system, but yet the old incorrect label generated information. WHAT HAS STAPLES BECOME - when you are: 1. Treated rudely by STEPHANIE who seems to feel her time was imposed upon. 2. STEPHANIE didn't know the name of the Regional Manager who is in her store. 3. ERIC did not send the e-mail he promised "right away" let alone with 4 hours. 4. The new tracking label with the correct address was never put on the package. 5. ERIC lied about doing something that he in fact, OBVIOUSLY, did not do. 6. Although I asked ERIC, STEPHANIE & a woman named JANET to have the store manager call me back - (3 left messages) NO STORE MANAGER called me. 7. When I called on Monday to speak with the store or regional manager, they don't even pick up the phone after 12, 9 and 17 minutes of hearing music & your call will be answered shortly - IT NEVER WAS. It's not like they even knew who was calling or why - they just don't answer their phone. 8. No one knows when the Store Manager will be back - even if they knew it, don't they have a schedule that would tell someone there when his return is expected? 9. SHAME ON THEM - THIS STORE & OPERATION HAVE NO INTEGRITY. Staples has obviously become too large to not lie, follow up, or care about customer service or the way they operate. WHEN I CALLED THE STAPLES EXECUTIVE OFFICE AT 800-338-0252, Michelle who took the information said she was in the Presidents Office, but she could not be sure that someone would in fact call back from the store, or the Manager or the Regional or District Manager's office. This is the second time (that I know of) that Staples ran a Sunday supplement promotion offering security software for free after rebate. The first time I went to the store and was told they had no more in stock. The second time (this week) I had a premonition they wouldn't have the software, so I called them instead of wasting a ride to the store. And of course, the software was "out of stock". In my opinion this is a come on, a version of bait and switch, offering an item that they know will not be available to everyone who wants one. And they don't say in the ad that the "free" item is limited to availability. My suggestion: don't shop there. They employ devious business practices. You'll get better deals over the internet. read more
