After the holidays you would expect that Staples would be staffed for the wave of returns for Amazon items, but they definitely are not! There were at least 25-30 people standing in line on Tuesday afternoon with only ONE staff member processing returns, and he was very slow. After standing in line for 15 minutes and seeing only two customers waited on, I left and returned Wednesday morning early, but the line was even longer! I'll never use Staples for returns again. I've always used Kohl's in the past for returns and will plan to use them in the future. read more

Purchase two gift cards for my daughters, you know the type the prepaid business gift cards, when I was checking out they were having a really difficult time figuring out how to do it (why sell them if you can't do it right?). Anyway after paying up $100, two gift cards at $50 each, My daughters went to purchase something with the gift cards and there was no money on them! Unbelievable! I paid for a service they didn't know how to do it correctly and now it creates a ton of inconvenience for me. Don't buy gift cards at Staples. They don't know how to load the cards correctly. read more

I have this Staples in Grandville close to my house, and have always liked it. Last night I went in there to return a print cartridge and get the correct one, with no receipt. They were busier than I had ever seen them. The staff found my previous purchase and took care of the whole thing. They even jumped on my Staples app to make sure I got the best deal on the new cartridges I was purchasing. I was so impressed with both ladies, I can't remember there names, but they sure confirmed why I like Staples so much. Great Job Ladies! read more

I recently had to print 2 items, and for the one item--all was fine. For the 2nd item, I submitted the wrong pdf and printed $90 worth of an order plus $20 rush fees. I was surprised, but took the item and immediately submitted a new pdf to re-print. When I went to pick up the item the next day, somehow I had printed the wrong document AGAIN. When I saw it, I expressed my surprise at myself and a cry of, "Oh no--I will just have to mail the wrong newsletter." Bonny, the employee who helped me, immediately asked, "Was there anything wrong with your order?" I said, "I printed the wrong document a second time--not sure how I did this." She said, "Did you print and pay for both orders already?" I said yes. She asked if I had any problems with the service at Staples and I said, "No--everyone was helpful and printed on time, etc. It was completely my error." Bonny immediately helped me re-print the item on the spot and adjusted the charges to give me a discount for our non-profit. NOT ONLY THIS...Bonny was in the middle of a sea of graduation orders, and two other people came up to the counter asking for her help with copying and sending an item to print. She PATIENTLY helped all 3 of us...efficiently, patiently, with great compassion. I have never experienced customer service like this before. I left the store in tears, so grateful for customer service like this and the compassion Bonny showed me for something that was not even her fault. Bonny, God bless you. I used their printing service and they were responsive and friendly. because I only needed two copies they printed it for free. To all the negative reviewers: I am a business owner. please keep in mind that we are now living in a time when quality workers are hard to find. Would you want to work in a place like Staples for $12 an hour? If an employee is rude or clueless then that's one thing, but a lot of these negative reviews are petty, first world problems. That doesn't excuse poor service but unfortunately in most instances we need to adjust our expectations. read more

Thank you Staples Grandville Staff. Thank you for working, for helping, and for the loads of patience you consistently give each customer. This team really tries to make your experience a good one. For almost eight years, I shop this store regularly and get a lot of printing done. I've heard all sorts of customer requests while working on my files, and observed staff being so kind and calm. (Some customers would make me want to pull my hair out and cuss!) This team rises above it. Like most businesses, they might be short handed, plus Covid hit them hard with absentees, but they keep forging ahead. It's also no secret that the majority of stores have supply chain issues and product shortages. So plan ahead, and order online. Next time you shop at staples (and in other stores!), as you wait quietly in line, drink a cup of patience. Say please and thank you. Be grateful. P.S. So I went to Staples on Rivertown parkway, I have never been treated so poorly.. As you walk in the store there is a sign that says "Please wear a mask".. I went in, picked up the package of envelopes and headed to the cashier.. the cashier asked if I saw the sign.. Then she calls her manager on duty, Adam... I came to the check out and asked If I saw the sign.. I said yes, but I am asymtomatic and not contagious... He looked at me confused and I explained what that meant... I told me that the next time that I should use the "curbside".. I informed him that I will find another business that sells the envelopes.. paid for the item and left... a transaction that normally takes less than 5 minutes, took over 10 minutes. read more

Walked in to see if we could get something laminated and no one helped us. We had to go up to an associate who was staring at us from across the store not doing anything. She was very monotone and said someone would help us. This store was nasty! It smelled bad, the floors were not vacuumed, there were broken fixtures, boxes and trash all over the floor, things out of place, things unorganized and just thrown around, just plain dirty! All while the associates were sitting around not doing anything. We were the only customers in the store. The man who finally helped us was helpful, however the items he suggested were very overpriced and they only had 2 selections that didn't meet our standards of what we were looking for. I called the store first explaining I would like to get pictures printed off my phone, and could they help me? I was told yes we can assist you, so I went right there. I wish I had the young man's name that helped me in the print center, he was amazing. I needed pictures off my phone to make a memory board for my mom's funeral. He patiently helped me pick the pictures, they were quite obviously very busy, and not only printed them, but helped me pick the sizes. I further asked him to make three sets so I could give copies to my siblings, taking more of his time. When he gave me the pictures I said may I pay here, he said no charge I'm glad I could help you. I was stunned I said are you sure, he replied very. That young man was a blessing to me today, and a huge asset to that store. This app states this location closes at 9 PM however posted on their door states 8 PM. I drove halfway across to grand Rapids to get to this location rushing to get there to find out the hours posted on yelp or not accurate. Thankfully fed ex was right behind them and saved my night. read more

A pretty nice shop near the mall in Grandville. A variety of merchandise and relatively knowledgeable staff. But that brings me to my gripe about the place. At the time I was there, about 5PM on a Thursday, it seemed to be staffed literally by 2 people. One young lady at the register, doubling as customer service, and one gentleman doing stocking, roaming the aisles. Have a question about a product? Well, you can either walk all the way to the front of the store and talk to someone who cannot leave their post to help. Or you can track down the poor guy trying to do inventory. Terrible service. My husband has a medical condition that prevents him from wearing a mask. The A-hole working there would not let him shop and walked us out the front door. This nonsense needs to stop. If someone is afraid of catching a cold, they should stay home. Let the rest of us live our lives. Office Max greeted us kindly and we were able to shop in peace. There were lots of products to choose from, and the product I got has been great so far. The problem I had was I waited 20 minutes for somebody to help me to get what I wanted. There are only two people working the store and both were busy had to wait for other people to come back before I got helped and the two there never said anything to me. Ordered a custom made sticker/ sign for my business and had to follow up on it twice. After two weeks the manager tells me that for some reason the sign cannot be made. This is my last time I will deal with Staples. A simple call or email would have been nice. I try and shop local but Unfortunety I will be ordering the sign on line but at least I will get what I need. read more

Worst customer service ever. Order online for in store pickup. There was no customers at the order pickup desk and the 2 customer service reps had their back to me talking and did not even ask to help me. This went on for 5 mins before I said something. Then I had to wait another 20-30 mins. for them to locate the item and bring it all the way up from the back store room. Then when I went up to the register again to pay for another item the cashier tried to charge me again and at a higher price for the item I purchased online and already paid for, while the receipt for that item was sitting with it. Then when I tried to explain all this to the store manager he had the nerve to yell at me and tell me that everything was my fault and I had no right saying anything about his workers mistakes in handling a customer. read more
