Asked the printing desk to print 11x17 about 6 pages for me. Did that before, paid print and labor. About 5$. Today? Was told no can do. Good do it yourself at copy machine. Busy day. Rep said she'd help me with the machine. I couldn't find the 11x17 size. She never came over. I asked help from cashier, did her best but I ended up walking out. Waiting for email complaint response. I was at the Staples in East Hills today. I went with the purpose of purchasing a Printer. There was one sales person finishing up with a client. He disappeared without asking if I needed any help. Another sales person came down the same aisle and served the gentleman who just got into that aisle. I wasn't acknowledged by either salesperson. I waited around 20 minutes and wandered to where there were 3 staff members visiting with another person. None acknowledged that I was even there. Needless to say, I left without purchasing anything. I feel like all Staples have the same kind of service. Layout and feel inside are all the same. I came here to pick up a mouse. I was just tired scrolling on my touch pad when using my laptop. I walked in and I just browsed around. If you need help for anything it might not easy to get someone to help you. I strolled around the entire store. Nothing too eye catching here. I came on a Monday and it was super quiet. Prices are usually ok here. I did end up getting a tiny cute travel mouse. read more

I just had the WORST service experience at this location with the new management and staff. Today I went in to use their business centre and there was a huge lineup and only one person working behind the counter. I walked over to the main checkout where there were four other employees just talking, and I asked if someone could help and why the business counter was short staffed to which I didn't get a reply? I couldn't wait so I returned 60 minutes later to learn that one of the people that was standing around earlier was the young business centre manager and she will NOT be getting any of my business due to her absolutely cold and poor attitude. This had always been my go to Staples, and I regret giving them the business now, and I will NOT go back. Go elsewhere, they have a bad attitude and apparently don't need our business..... read more

Certainly has gone downhill. The inventory levels and variety are not what they used to be like. The selection is not as good as it used to be. Almost looks like they are on the verge of going out of business. What's with the selling of household items??? They need rebranding in a big way. Their copy centre looked dead as well as the whole store. They certainly don't have the customer traffic like they used to have. I went to find a column ledger but they were way overpriced. I mean who uses the old ledger books besides me. So I went on line and found an app that more than does the trick at less than 10% of the cost of the ledger. I had a parking ticket issued and didn't know why. I went into the store and spoke to a manager 2 weeks later, mostly just curious about their rules that I obviously wasn't aware of. The manager on duty became very aggressive and raised her voice. I was very calm and simply wanted to talk politely. She was defensive and asserted herself a great deal. I was quite insulted at the way she behaved. The store did nothing wrong and I deserved the ticket. The way she acted when I inquired about rules in their lot was horribly rude. Not impressed. I was in uniform and she made a pretty big scene. If I didn't walk away when I did I am sure she would have kept escalating the situation. All that over a $75 ticket. Ridiculous. read more

What I hate most about parking at any store is having to pay for parking. I really detest paying for street parking while shopping; I mean adding 2 to 5 dollars to any outing or stop I make is complete absurdity. It makes me want to stay home or to just spend time at a mall. But at this Staples location you have massive amounts of parking room and its FREE. This is such an accessible location too; you can get to it from 11th street or come down from 9th avenue. This is the first time I have shopped here and I was wondering why; as this was so convenient to get to plus as a huge store it had everything, I mean I left with 5 or 6 items I forgot I needed. And as soon as I entered a staff member was on me like a sparkplug and helped me find every item, it was such personalised service. I noticed the manager really motivating staff to do this, and while I was at other sections of the store I greeted by other staff members and asked if I needed anything. When I am shopping for clothing I like the space but when I am in a store like this where I am an obvious technical nerd, I like to be pampered and listened to, the sales person did whatever he could short of holding my hand at the checkout. I was thoroughly impressed and when I called Best Buy for a price check, Staples was 20 dollars under. I know that Best Buy will match prices but why drive all the way out there if I can simply purchase it here, thanks Staples, shopping with you was an awakening surprise. read more

Staples print services should be avoided at all costs. On top of cheap stationary, the customer service is brutal. Don't expect an easy time asking for quality, because Staples won't empower their people to make their customers one bit happy to save their profit line. I printed an 11 MB file and showed up to a smeared, illegible print. The customer service person just shrugged and said that's what I asked for. I showed her the crisp contrast of the file uploaded and what their software had interpreted. She just kept pointing at the screen and saying there was nothing she could do. I know it's not her fault; Staples doesn't want to do anything for you as a customer other than drain your wallet for low quality merchandise. You have a lot of choices for print services. London Drugs and Vistek have never failed me and I regret trying Staples because they were slightly closer to me. read more

OK selection but they always seem to be out of stock of at least one item I'm looking for. Fine, I'll wait a couple of days and order it online. I've recently had to use their copy center and they were great. Did what I wanted them to, delivered when they said and the product was as requested. That said they aren't cheap but its inline with what you'd pay at any other print shop. So what earns them the lowly 2 stars? Their utterly miserable manager. I wanted to exchange something and had forgot the receipt at home. To be clear, exchange...not a return. It wasn't a special order item, I even told him I'd understand if he could only give me a credit value of whatever its sale price was. Fine, he's being an effete corporate weasel and applying their policy to the letter. But he was just plain rude about it. read more

Staples has that commercial with the man leaping around the store to the "It's the most wonderful time of the year" song. That's me, without the kids. When I was still in school, I would eagerly await September to be able to load up on supplies: duotangs and notebooks, pencils and pens and post-its - stationery appealed to me. Staples SMELLS like new paper. It is addictive. I spend way too much time here on the strength of that alone. Now that I'm older I search the hallowed halls for report covers and leather business folders, rolodexs (not really) and binders and file folders. I still get tweely shaped post-its - who can resist the hearts or speech bubbles? Not I. The staff are also very helpful, and they have a decent electronics section which is unfortunately a little lacking in Macware. Regardless, it is my go-to for printer ink and conferences. Staples really strives to be a stationery destination, and when you factor in the convenience of this location I'd say they go above and beyond. read more

I had never been to this location of Staples until just yesterday. A friend of mine was in a jam and needed some work supplies pronto. We headed over together. First of all, I'd just like to say that this store is MASSIVE. They've got a bit of everything! I'm talkin' all the stationary goodness you can imagine, PLUS everything from 'How to create a Prenuptial Agreement CD ROM' (I had a little too much time to burn...), to Christmas baskets of Lindt chocolates!!! The prices are extremely reasonable, and what truly stood out to me was the service! Within moments of us being there, an employee came and found us and asked if we needed a hand with anything! This location of Staples is by far one of my favourites in the city. I'll probably even be heading back again this week to load up on stocking stuffers! read more

I came in to this location last night to pick up a few urgent items. I had trouble finding a couple things and asked a lady who was setting up tables at the front for help. She sent me to an aisle and the item I was looking for was not there. I went back to her and tried to specify what I was looking for. She proceeded to roll her eyes at me and rudely ask another employee to help me out. It was clear that I was bothering her and I was very offended by her attitude towards me. I asked the other employee who was helping me if she was not supposed to be on the floor and he informed me that she was the manager. Very inappropriate behaviour for someone who is supposed to set an example for their employees. read more

Mostly unfriendly staff - and they denied me the International Women's Sale because I didn't have a physical copy of the promo, but could pop it up on my phone to show them I knew about it. This Staple's location is quite convenient. Situated on the west end of the downtown core it is one of the only big office supply stores in the area. It's really hard to find staff to help you but when you do they seem friendly. It would have 4-stars if they had more people to help answer questions. read more

Tried to purchase a desk from a Calgary outlet, $119.00, went to 3 stores, store inventory shows each have 3 in stock, oops inventory is wrong, only have display model, can have one delivered in a day (would have liked to set up tonight), the others are broken, waiting for parts (Hello, parts never come from China). Went home to call stores rather than driving around, no one ever picks up the phone (but all departments are busy, call again) Will shop somewhere else.
