Ever had one of those days, when you have to print out a gazillion reports and just when you hit…read moreprint, sparks fly, the lights dim and NORAD central in Colorado suddenly gets an alert that a nuclear launch is imminent and it was just really your printer going down for the count? Yes, I've had a day like that, and it's a wonder how I managed to survive it without being nuked by the US. But how you say? How did I manage to stop the Cuban Missile Crisis 2012 edition? Why the friendly folks at Alberta Printer of course! Based in a warehouse bay, the place is filled with printers of all sorts and models, laser printers, ink-jet printers, those huge plotters used by architectual and engineering firms and accessories of all sorts. There are plenty of brand new models, but also a neat little area of refurbished printers which have been given new life and reconditioned with new drums, parts and the like. They took in my poor wounded near-nuclear war starting child and checked it out over a few days, all the while loaning me a not bad laser one for a few bucks to tide me over. I've gotten the printer back now, and NORAD has stood down, assured that I'm not a terrorist trying to destroy the free world, just trying to print in one. There's going to be a small fee that mandatory for the initial check to see what was wrong, but it's absorbed into the final bill if you decide to get it done (they give you an estimate). And most importantly, there's financing if you want to get a new one (which I'm sorely tempted to). Besides the In-House service, they also have an on-the-road service as well apparently, which I can see being popular with businesses and the like who can't spare the time and manpower to drop off the printer. Overall, it cost me a few bucks, but I can print again! The gods of productivity above now smile at me and I can get through the next day unmolested by unearthly levels of gamma radiation! # 13 of Yelp's 30-Day Review Challenge

A few things, hours were posted wrong by Yelp as the company hasn't claimed ownership of the Yelp…read morepage. In previous visits I have noticed that prices remain a little steep compared to competitors (Michaels next door has similar drawing/artist pencils/Sharpies etc. and often run a 30% or 40% coupon off of one item - making it much cheaper than Michaels |you would think they would consider that | not to mention Amazon). Regarding ordering online, you would not believe how many times something standard will be available online or at another store in Calgary but this location is sold out. Lastly, the printing/fax shop - thank goodness their staff no longer deal with the shipping desk IE FedEx/Purolator) as well. It often cause massive lines.

I had seven cell phones for my business, and he helped me not only purchase a new phone, but understand how he could save me over $300 per month on my billing! He was patient and extremely knowledgeable. It took him two days to help me organize my cell phones for my business, but I honestly felt like he was my personal consultant. He fully explained how everything worked and I would give him a 10 out of 10! I had previously dealt with Best Buy for my electronic purchases, but I am now a loyal customer to staples for their great service and wonderful selection of products. If they don't have what you're looking for, they will order it for you.

After using Staples for over 20 years for person purchases and through 3 businesses I have run…read more They some how have turned into the worst customer service provider out there in my opinion. After ordering a few items and being told they were ready for pick up. The customer service rep refused to complete my order as one item was "open box" having already left work and needing the gifts for later I told him I didnt need the 10% off and was fine taking the open one. He still refused. As I was leaving I express politely that his store had the worst customer service. I didnt yell swear or act aggressive at all. I then contacted staples customer service had the order cancelled and placed a new one for another location. I waited a bit and went there. I even offered to help get the items ready so I could be quick. This young kid who claimed to be a manager and was in fact not a manager then informed me they would not serve me because I was yelling at the other store. Again I was extremely frustrated at this point and still was polite and left. After dealing with the national escalations department I decided to cancel that order and purchase else where as I will always do moving forward. However the store number 2 processed my order as if I had picked it up and then refused to issue a refund. The guy on the phone even acted like he would fight me if I was at the store and hung up on me. Insane how a person turning down a 10% off price and willing to pay full price for the item he was told was ready to be picked up turned into a massive issue by unprofessional immature staff. Where at least a few customers are forever lost in a time of retail struggles.

Once I purchased the computers I hired an IT guy to configure them with the printer in the office etc. The IT guy said do you realize you paid more than brand new monitors cost and that the computers are at the end of their lifecycle. They were years older than I was told. I was also told they were getting all the computers ready and serviced. When my IT guy opened the covers, he found they had been well used by a large organization and were very old and could not be upgraded to the newest operating system Windows 11. Furthermore, each computer was full of hair, fuzz and dirt and some of the fans didn't work. I complained and Open Box Macleod allowed me to trade the monitors for a credit. One thing I used the credit for was to buy an expensive coffee grinder. The grinder did not work so I took it back to Open Box Macleod. They said they could only send it in for repair. Months went by and still no coffee grinder. I went to the store many times in person and they shrugged me off and would not refund me and refused to help. I spent about $4000 and if I had the time, I would stand in front of their horrible, dishonest, disreputable Open Box Macleod location and tell them all my story. Worst Place to buy anything. They cannot be trusted. I am literally ashamed I fell for this discount store.... it is far worse than buying from a new supplier.
