To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to report a customer service issue I experienced today at a Staples location. My visit began positively. The printing associate who assisted me initially provided excellent customer service. She was knowledgeable, asked the right questions, explained printer and paper requirements clearly, and demonstrated strong sales skills. I appreciated her professionalism. However, after spending approximately 45 minutes to an hour in the store selecting the appropriate paper and creating a print template, I was only then informed that printing would take an additional hour due to a backlog. While I understand delays happen, this information was not communicated upfront, despite knowing I intended to print. That lack of transparency was frustrating. The situation escalated when I spoke with the manager, Myaowa, to ask whether another Staples location (the 86th Street store) could accommodate my laser paper. I did not ask for expedited service--only whether the other store could be contacted. I was given conflicting information about whether my paper could be used, and the associate and manager discussed the situation as though I were not present, which felt unprofessional. Ultimately, the manager stated he could not contact another Staples location because the stores are franchises that compete with one another. This explanation was surprising and did not align with expectations of a national retail brand. My concern is not with the initial associate, who performed well, but with the lack of clear communication, inconsistent information, and how the situation was handled by management. I needed programs printed same-day and went to Staples just two hours before I needed them. At first, I thought I'd do it myself, but quickly realized I needed help. Although the store was short-staffed, the young lady at the counter went above and beyond to assist me personally. Despite dealing with other customers who were rude and impatient, these ladies remained respectful, professional, and efficient. Their tone was firm yet courteous, and it was clear they have been well-trained to handle difficult situations without losing their cool. I'm genuinely surprised they have so few stars, because I witnessed fantastic customer service that day. I use ipostal1 at this location and this has been my worst mistake. the customer service in this location is below average. The employees are rude and not very helpful. but the worst part was not incompetence. It was the mishandling of court documentation and taxation mail. This location lost three of my court letters resulting in no show and causing me financial harm. also I missed some taxation deadlines due to their mishandling of taxation documents resulting in fees and penalties. I do not recommend staples nor do I recommend ipostal1. please steer clear of this location. read more

I bought a new printer from the place, but it did break after a month of use. I had to take it through the manufacturer of the device, as they wouldn't honor a return. It was a process, but frustrating to say the least. They do have some good deals, a good selection of things. Good prices. I'd come back in the future. I avoid going to Bay Plaza at all cost. So when I found out about a Morris Park location, I jumped on it. I was double-parked with my mom on the driver seat- so there's was no point for me to lollygag. Despite the low star rating, these folks have an impressive product range. I primarily come for Chiseled Sharpies, letter-size laminating paper, stickers and so many other items I use in my classroom and know Staples has 'em. Customer service is nice when I asked about adhesive Velcro and shelves are stocked with all the basic office supplies including really stunning stationery.....for a Staples. read more

The store could use more employees. I was there earlier this week in the morning. There was already a couple of lines for the shipping as well as for the printing. A good part of the customers were older folks that needed assistance with understanding using their mobile apps. Chasity was awesome and very attentive and patient with her customers. I will definitely be visiting this White Plains, Bronx location more often. read more

This staples has some of the nastiest staff. The service wasnt great i visited at 11am not when they were closing and the attitude I received from staff was horrible. I asked where a product was and a female staff member answered me as if I was bothering her. Then as I was walking back to the counter with the items I over hear her tell another staff member " what do people want.. for you to hold their hand and go get the stuff?! Totally unnecessary and if you want to say something to your colleagues do it when the customer leave the store. Excellent service at the print department. I needed a book unbound and then rebound with spirals and another Staples (cough cough in Yonkers cough cough) wasn't able to do it because my book was too thick for their machine... this staples had no issues whatsoever. Gave 4 stars because each spiral ends up costing around $10 which I thought was a bit much. My rebound books were presented to me earlier than anticipated in the fancy pictured box. Boy did it feel good walking around with that box in tow. Also pro-tip-- there's parking in the back for customers. Just a few spots but better than nothing. Clean and very well stocked. I came in today to order two personalized ink stamps. I stood at the counter for like 10 minutes before I was asked what I needed. Then young lady who attempted to "help" was interrupted by the "oh so rude Latina with curly hair" that runs the printing department, to let her know that a client, that they were already helping, wanted to know what brand her sneakers were! To add insult, while finally "being helped" the Latina says to the young lady "tell her we don't do translations" while I'm standing there like I can't hear or understand what she's saying. She needs customer service training. And if you can't deal with the public, quit. Thank GOODNESS FOR JUAN THE MANAGER!!!!!!! Who saved the day and helped me with what I needed. He's knowledgeable and very personable. Great asset to staples. But the printing employees SUCK!!!!! Also the European cashier and another Latina cashier with jet black hair were rude as well. I like that there's a Staples near me. I had an Amazon return and this location was an option for me to return my package. I get there around 10:30 on a Tuesday morning and was surprised that there was a long line. I waited in line about 10 minutes and started looking around the store because the employees were unidentifiable. Finally an employee appears and announces to the people standing in line that they're not accepting Amazon returns. Several people, including myself, in line were disappointed. I asked why, and he ignored me and rudely announced again that they were not accepting Amazon returns. Most of the line cleared after the announcement. Lady at the print shop needs another job. This job isn't for her. My 3rd time in 2 weeks I come to print floor plans. She's constantly on her phone, ignoring costumers, does not know how to multitask which I would assume you should know if your the only person working at the print shop. This is not one of my regular Staples. I came down because I was purchasing a laptop that was on clearance and they were one of the few stores in the entire NYC metro area that had a brand new unit in inventory. The store in Elmsford called to ask them to put the item aside. I drove down and was there about 30 minutes later. By luck, the person I was told to ask for, Kahlil was the first person to greet me when I walked through the entrance. I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. Everyone was very friendly. A very pleasant experience all around. The store itself is very well lit, clean and organized. Parking in the area, which in front of the store is muni-meter, or free on the side streets next to and behind the building. It may take you a lap or two to get close enough space. This store is convenient and close to home for my shipping needs! They have a 7 days a week drop off for ups! Pretty easy to just go in and come out although sometimes the wait time to drop a package off is kind of long! But staff is friendly! They do wear masks! The store is usually clean! This is the staples located by whiteplains rd in the Bronx and I have to say I wasn't too impressed. First negative my husband and I walk in and the security is looking at us like we are going to steal something and then we walk around the place for about 30 minutes and NO ONE asks if we need help. My husband had to go online to get reviews on some items that we needed. If it weren't for the fact that we needed those items like asap we would have booked. Maybe they were understaffed or whatever the reason but I always give a place a second chance to see if maybe it was an off day for everyone. read more

I genuinely think that the person at the copy and print center had never, ever made a copy before. He had not the slightest idea what he was doing. I came in at 7pm and dropped off an enlargement for the following day. It was supposed to be ready at 10am. I came in at 10:15 and this guy told me to come back later. I said no, it's supposed to be ready at 10. Then he looked for it and couldn't find EITHER my original or the enlargement. Finally, he learned to use the machine and made a copy (good thing I didn't give this clown my only copy). An hour after walking in I walked out. This is a nice, big Staples store for the area. Everything is pretty well organized and it's just nice to shop somewhere where the aisles can hold more than one person abreast! I didn't need to speak with any salespeople, nor did any offer to help me, so I can't rate that. But if you need office supplies or equipment, Staples is worth checking out. Update: I had to use (not buy!) a fax machine and where the hell do you find one of those on a Sunday? Answer: Staples! I didn't realize it, but they have a whole little tech hub in the corner--computers, printers, and a fax machine! The girl was super nice. I think she knows that if someone is looking for a fax machine to use on a Sunday morning, that person is pretty effing desperate. She calmly walked me to the machine, showed me how to use it, and took my credit card when I threw it at her and screamed, "I'll pay anything you want! I just need to send this!" this staples is a real life nightmare. the print & copy center is the most unorganized shit i've ever seen. i think it has less to do with the employees more so the company or whoever is running that location. every time i come either the copier isn't accepting card or if i come to pay cash they say they say you need a cash card and when i say okay can i get one they ALWAYS say "we don't have any" and then they make it seem like they doing you a favor by still letting you get your copies even though THEY don't have the cards. the manager actually was being quite passive aggressive with me and tried to make me feel like i was being unreasonable because i can't keep up with the new rules this place has literally EVERY DAY. i think the employees might have a better approach if they actually had the supplies and training to be able to help people. because i'm sure due to their lack of instruction people get frustrated with them which then leads to them anticipating that every customer will be that way. yes they all have attitudes, but can you really blame them? i doubt the sales associates have access to making things run smoothly so i think it's management if anything. read more

a few times i have come to this staples on white plains rd in pelham parkway to use the usps or ups service on sunday and even though it will cost me more to shipit its still better then dragging your packages to your local post office and have some postal clerk give you the typical attitude. a small narrow maze like parking lot in the side of building but plenty of street parking on sunday is good enough. its your typical staples with the basic a to z of stuff and the staff are always friendly and helpful during my visits. its best to go on sundays when the sales cycle starts for the week or else it may be sold out by monday. i sent my packages and it was quick with no post office line wait . 4 stars on my yelp meter. read more

Please don't confuse this store with the competent management found in Bartow Plaza in Co-op City or most Manhattan stores where you don't have to wait for someone to help you with the copy machine. This last visit was somewhat OK. I actually got an associate who was helpful at the copy machine. Now, I had to use the paper cutter & the other associate told me ( I kid you not ) that the paper cutter isn't for customers & tried to hand me a pair of scissors.WHAT? Seriously? Anytime I went to Staple's, I NEVER experienced that before in my life! I said, no, that's not going to work with what I have to do. This review is not about the company as a whole but the crappy warranties they try to sell u every time u buy a pencil..... A few months ago I bought a Staples brand paper shredder for $79 thinking im paying for durability and quality at a reasonable price, but since I have had bad experiences w these things before I went ahead and got myself a 1 year extended warranty for $10 (wonderful right?) its simple, I pay 10 bucks the thing breaks down I come back get a new one....no...a few months after I bought it,the thing just stopped working, so i went receipt and warranty paperwork in hand to get a spankin new shredder, when I get there, the guy tells me that the model I bought was no longer out and the new version was not $79 but $89 , when I do my required bitching about it he tells me that the fine print states that Im entitled to a product of the same or less price and if more expensive I had to pay the difference, so I pretty much have to either pay more to get the same shredder or get a shittier one than the piece of crap Im returning, and then on top of that buy a new warranty for the new one... Folks next time u go to Staples, ditch the products w their brand and get something with a good name because you will be paying the money you saved later on in replacements and warranties anyway. Then waited in line for another 20mins while the girl behind the register had to leave to get something or ask for help for each customer. I funeral service programs printed out for me in Cali for 40.00 for 25 glossy prints, done in 5 min. unfortunately, I made a minor error and needed reprints but we had already flown out to NY, Staples was our best bet , so I thought. They charged me $$$71.00 for the same exact service!!!!! 71.00 for 25 prints?!!!! Are you kidding me?! At this point it was our last resort because the funeral was the next day..we had no choice but to be robbed by these u profession people. Mind you, none of the staff wants to actually work, they kept trying to shoo us off to use the basic copying machine. I went to this staples just to get a single print enlargement. I had the worst experience ever with the print manager in staples, I think her name was Chasity. This women is so rude. If you go to staples around 8:00am - 1:00pm the lady is there . She refuse to help me and on top of that she left me waiting for 15 min in the counter while she had no customers and was doing nothing. I've been going to this staples for 5 years straight. Never had an argument until this women that they call printing manager shows up. Even claiming that the staples store is her and telling people not to come to the store. I've been to this store twice and each time I was in and out. This is a very big location and very spacious aisles too. I haven't shopped around the store at all, I knew what I wanted and it was always in the front of the store. The place was clean and orderly. Staples stores always seem to be easy to navigate and this was one of the easiest to me. It's set up so you can find everything in a hurry. Like other places you go to that hire young people as staff (older people too) you have to interrupt them in conversation with each other to ask for help. Once you get some assistance they all seem very pleasant all at once. I can't say anything bad about the place. I will always visit this location when I need something from Staples. I think they also have a print shop. I only gave it 4 stars because I feel that employees should offer assistance right after they greet you as you're walking through the door. Why do you always have to stop employees from chatting with each other when they should be assisting customers? Maybe it's just me. Overall its a great location. read more

I made an online same day order at 7 am and had it sent to this location. I received no email stating it was ready. Then when I came in at 1:45 pm a young lady behind the counter said "oh I was just about to call you and tell you our cutter is broken." she then told me she had taken it upon herself to have the invites shipped to me. I explained that was not acceptable and asked for a manager. who acted as if my daughter and I were invisible, as he talked about the customer who was in front of me getting his order wrong and how customers are always wrong. He then stated to the young lady have it sent to co-op city. He never once addressed the issue, apologized or looked at me. These invitations were for my little sister's baby shower for her very first child. What I thought would be a stress free way to create special invites (because of the way it's advertised on the website) became my whole Sunday & I now have to travel to pick up the invites tomorrow when they should have already been mailed out.
