Worst experience ever
I needed to have something printed out for my car company and they sent it to my email address so I looked up local services and staples claimed to have a fast and easy printing process.
It began with me downloading the item into their system and once they received it they emailed me a confirmation email with a barcode.
It would be available for 24 hours
According to their email I could go in, follow the instructions on the printer, give them the barcode and it will easily print out.
So in I go lol
I follow the instructions on the machine, add my debit card ($5.00) scan the barcode , choose the color of the print and hit go
Hmm not what I was trying to print out
Try again and again not what I was trying to print out. So I sign out, get my receipt and go to the desk for assistance
Here it actually got worse. 2 sales associates are handling the section, chit chatting away and I'm finally asked if I need help.
Yes!!! I explain what happened at the printer and I'm showing the associates my emails and what I'm trying to print out, the female associate starts trying to download the page multiple times telling me they can't download from my drive and tells me I need to figure out where else it's been downloaded to and she walks off.
Roughly 10-15 minutes pass while she's chatting with the other associate and I'm trying to find where else this may be for her to print out.
At this point the gentleman who was also using the other printer comes over explaining his problems with the printer to which she replied "whenever it rains the printers act up"
(If staff knows this why let customers use them and get frustrated with them )
She offers to help him but he's on a time limit and has already been trying for 45 minutes without any positive results.
Finally she comes back to me and asks if I've found it yet (no) at this point she says oh maybe I should have told you about this option earlier, hands me a strip of paper with a email address and says you can just email it to me and I can print it out from there
(SERIOUSLY) Maybe instead of downloading it multiple times to my phone you could have told me this 25 minutes ago and saved me time searching and getting more frustrated with this whole process.
I fwd it within a minute and stand around waiting while she continues to chit chat her coworker, avoiding looking in my direction.
This drags out for another 10 minute and I'm literally looking in every direction for a supervisor or another associate who can possibly help me because I've now been in staples 40-45 minutes while I was only supposed to be there moments.
Finally she asks if I emailed it (yes) and with 2 strokes at her terminal out comes 2 copies of the paperwork I needed.
50+ minutes for a simple copy to be made. Totally unacceptable
I understand that since covid, hiring has been a nightmare but when you're employees are focusing more on socializing with coworkers than helping out the customers something is SERIOUSLY WRONG
Next time I need to get something printed I'll definitely find somewhere else to go because staples has already wasted enough of my time during today's visit to the store read more
