I've been here several times and I love this place. My wife and I will breakfast there and then walk around Larchmont Manor Harbor on nice days. But back to Stanz. The waitstaff are always friendly. The prices are reasonable and I can't stop thinking about my poached eggs with avocado and goat cheese. Lots of great menu choices. The tables and seating could use an upgrade but that would not stop me from frequenting this wonderful breakfast spot. read more

Three stars for the decor and ambiance. The food is not up par. They have nice outdoor seating and a nice indoor vibe with fresh flowers on the tables but it gets pretty crowded and they have a sign up that states that you can't take a seat prior to ordering. They have menu in the front and also across the wall by the cooking station. The ordering can be pretty confusing and I felt rushed because I was standing there trying to decide what to order and people just coming from the side and getting on line. We ordered the waffle, banana brown sugar crepe and an omelet with pesto, tomato, mozzarella, side of home fries and toast, tea, coffee, and a bottle of water. The food was bland as hell, and the salt and pepper on the side did not enhance the flavor. Overall we had a good time because we went with positive vibes and just wanted to spend quality time, but will not return for the food. read more

A charming eatery in downtown Larchmont that serves breakfast and lunch. Food quality is very good and large portion. Go early to avoid long lines, inside and outside sitting but fill up quickly on sunny days and peak hours. Service is good and you can refill your own coffee. I was in Larchmont yesterday morning on some business. Looking for a place to have breakfast so we checked Yelp and Stanz was on the top of the list. So let's get the bad out of the way.......... Now the good: very quaint looking place both outside and inside. They boast "Farm to Table", and they should be proud of that because it works. So here's how it goes. You walk to the counter, place your order, pay, sit down and your food is brought to you. Coffee is self serve, which I'm seeing a lot of lately, and seems to work, at least for me. Everything you need is right there. There are a number of farm type tables which goes to the decor. I like it. My wife had the asparagus omelette which she said had a lot of asparagus and was really good. I went with the corn beef omelette which I loved. Loaded with corn beef and potatoes. In fact mostly corn beef, had to be half a pound. We're not in Larchmont on a regular basis but when there this will be our go to place for breakfast. By the way, they have sidewalk seating. A little to cool for us today but seems like it works well in warmer weather. read more

I've been going to Stanz for around 20 years. There is no better place to casual weekend brunch with local charm. My favorite is the arugula and goat cheese omelette with bacon. On the hunt again for (what I thought was going to be great experience) Hot Chocolate. Stan'z is charming. Quite honestly, it's the only café of its kind, that pops with an interesting style on the block. Place your order at the front of the house and pay- as soon as you go in. Then you sit down. Right at the front of the house, there, you have the flat top with hash browns, bacon sizzling away and pastries. A server brings your order to the table. But today, just went with a Hot Chocolate. Brick walls, magical stars, antique brass chandeliers and tables that are slabs of wood all give Stan'z a Gorgeous feel. Liked how lively the place. Hot Chocolate was brought, and had a nice foamy top. But one sip later and knew it was not unsweetened Dutch cocoa and tasted more like Swiss Miss. Staff was amazingly helpful. Layout was funky for the neighborhood and I'm sure that menu items are extremely fresh. However, the weak ventilation system, honestly didn't whisk all that bacon smell that was lingering all over the café and all over me ;-(. And worse, when I got into my car, my clothes and hair smelled like bacon. Not happy. In all fairness, Stan'z comes across as a really nice café and I'm only basing my review on what I experienced in that short moment. I'm most certain that Stan'z Café will perhaps outshine in other areas. Truthfully, I wanted to support it, but because my Hot Chocolate was not prepared with Dutch Unsweetened Cocoa and bacon hovering all over me from head to toe (which I dislike highly), for those reasons, I'm out. read more

Nice employees but OVER HYPED. Worst breakfast I've had in a while. I was better off going to a corner store to get something to eat. I had a sandwich with French toasts as the bread; the bread tasted like frying oil. Pancakes not good; they tasted like cheap box mix. SERVICE: I will say the beginning of my experience was a lot like a certain Seinfeld episode. The woman taking orders reminds me of the guy from the soup episode...yeah that one. She was unfriendly and rushed my friend and I. But as SOON as we sat down and were taken care of by other staff members they were wonderful - fast, helpful, and nice. One staff member was dealing with a very particular customer next to me with really annoying detailed beckoning requests (she thought she was the queen of the world) and the guy handled it with patient and grace. FOOD: our salads and dessert crepe came out incredibly fast. The orders were correct and looked so inviting. I was expecting to wait per other reviews and it being peak lunchtime, but nope! definitely 5 stars for food. The salad was fresh and crisp and delicious! The crepe. Omg the crepe. I can't even. Farm to table! This is the new normal in almost any hip town. Love the concept and you can actually taste the difference. When you first walk in, you place your order and find a seat at one of the many communal tables available. Your food is brought to said table. In house coffee is refillable but take out isn't so plan accordingly. I had the prosciutto and gorgonzola cheese omelette with fruit salad and bread. As expected it was slightly salty from the prosciutto and cheese but really good. My friend had the avocado with pepper jack cheese and fresh jalapeno. This was simply amazing. I wished I had had that. The balance between the creamy avocado and firing spice from the fresh jalapeno is a match made in food heaven. How come I never thought of this???? Stan'z is a place I almost want to consider perfect. While the food is excellent for a quick bite to eat, for a cafe I'd expect a bit better coffee related drinks and service. I was told they recently lost their barista and have a new replacement but I'm not sure he exactly knows what he is doing. In two visits I have had my drink orders ruined and they were either cold or barley warm and came after my meal. I have high hopes Stan'z will remedy this problem soon so I can update my review and rating. read more

My only difficulty with this popular spot is ordering before finding a table. It makes me nervous to wonder if a table will open and be cleaned before my food is ready. Stanz for breakfaat this morning went array. Gronola was stale and when I told the manager he looked at me like I had 3 heads. He said it was made fresh. He came over chewing granola telling us its good. He gave my feiend another bowl without granola and she squeezed honey into it the cap popped off. I just moved in the area from Los Angeles and was excited to find this place as the 'farm to table' concept reminds me of my home of Santa Monica. I brought my family and it was all of our first time dining here. The food was good but our server tainted our whole experience. He was so abrasive and rude. I guess us asking for condiments and the rest of our missing order really rubbed him the wrong way. My husband even got up to ask him where we could get water after he slammed down our ketchup and rushed off and caught him cursing about us under his breath. His aggressive, pompous attitude was enough to make me not want to return to this place. It's unfortunate as we would have been 6 new customers in the area. I hope they come to realize an angry server doesn't make for good business and he gets an attitude adjustment for the new year. read more

Went there on a Saturday at 11:24am with my friend. I thought my order would be quick since the staff was preparing the food near the register. The cashier said 1/2 hr. I apologized for not being able to wait bc I had an appointment, something I never do. I personally enjoy their Nutella and strawberry crepes, dusted with powdered sugar. Stan'z Cafe serves fantastic food and service. The wait is around 20 -25 minutes but it is worth it in the end. The vibe of the cafe is very rustic, with wood-exposed furniture that gives the food even more beauty while on the plate. This cafe shows great effort to please it's customers. Two stars are really for the experience- the food (I had a goat cheese seasonal omelette) was good enough. The service was terrible and didn't seem to want to entertain questions about the food/didn't know about their food. Seating- forget about it.
