I bought that two-year-old pair of glasses at a local VisionWorks in Springfield (Delaware County), PA and went back for this prescription lens change. A recent pair of glasses and lenses from VisionWorks cost me around $400 with everything (non-glare, scratch resistance coating, etc.)--I accepted that, but didn't want to pay that cost again. For just having a pair of PLAIN bifocal lenses--with the new prescription--inserted into that two-year-old frame I was quoted the price of $283; I was told that was a 25% discount! I walked out and called around. I went in person to Target first, but they were similar in price to VisionWorks' discount; so much for Target being inexpensive! Over the phone, For Eyes, at 459 W. Germantown Ave., Plymouth Meeting, PA (across from Plymouth Meeting Mall), assured me that their cost would be under $200--worth the trip up Rte. 495. When I got there I was given a 15% military veteran's discount (though they have others, too) and a price of $130 for the plain lens-with-bifocal replacement, which was the same stipulation given to VisionWorks. But once we got through the facial measurements and paperwork the bill came to $93.50--actually, a little less with my Capital One 1.5% money back refund, coming to $92.10. Guess where I'm going to buy my future glasses! You guessed it: For Eyes. To put it in the simplest terms: 1) The cost at For Eyes was 1/3 the cost at VisionWorks, or 2) VisionWorks was 3 times the cost of For Eyes.

Dr Lynott falsified my medical records, committed Medicare fraud, unethical behavior, refused to ever meet , talk or write to me explaining her findings. This was supported and encouraged by the owners of Village Optical. I spoke with and emailed the owner, Greg Vallino and his brother Marc Vallino a number of times regarding these issues and asked that they have her follow through with her job and explain her findings to me. Their first response was "we are 100% sure that Dr. Lenott's Documentation were accurate". if they had audio recordings of appointments they would know she's lying. The only possible way they could say that is if the wrote or helped her write the falsified records. Which are now part of my permanent Medical Record. She sent these falsified records to my primary care physician without my permission. This company has no morals, and no ethical standing . they commit Medicare fraud, lie to their patients, which for me, has delayed any possible diagnosis or treatments that could help improve my vision following cataract surgery and a lens exchange For over 6 months. Greg Vallino had Dr Lynott dismiss me as a patient the day after I found out about these document. It has been almost 6 months. I had to go to another specialist who explained all of their testing results, what my diagnosis was, and what they recommended would help improve the vision in my right eye. No individual, especially patients, deserve to be treated in such an unethical manner. There doors closed and their license revoked. ***** I am doing and will continue to do everything I can to bring justice . I would never recommend for anyone to see any of their doctors because the owners are so corrupt that would be Greg Vallino and his brother Marc Vallino. I Hope this will help other patients to seek ophthalmology care at a different practice . Needless to say - they insisted on putting through me medical insurance - which gives them a higher reimbursement and charges me a much higher co-pay. My prior optometrist always put through my vision insurance. There is nothing wrong with my eyes, but they noted "the start of age related cataracts (that won't require surgery for many years), and other minor things that don't need treatment. I have since heard similar stories from others. Also - their glasses are very expensive. They only had a handful that would be fully covered by my insurance. Buyer beware!

The office is in a very convenient location right on Germantown Pike, and it's a good building with a bunch of exam rooms, an area with glasses, and a good sized waiting room, although I don't think it's much in use with the pandemic. They accept most insurance and are very friendly. Also, they have a pac-man arcade game in the waiting room, although I don't know if they kept it on during the pandemic. I recently made another appointment, and I appreciate how they have email confirmation and online forms to fill out rather than taking up time during the visit. I arrived at 8:30 for an 8:45 appointment and I left the office at 10:20 after skipping my dilation. I have a rare eye issue and skipping a yearly dilation is not safe, but I worried if I did it that I would be there for three hours instead of two. Dr. Nolan went as fast as she could and apologized, but then when I went to the front desk to pick up my prescriptions I had to wait another 15 minutes on top of the over 1.5 hours I had already spent in that building. I was going to be late for a meeting for work, so I went in the back and begged them to just hand me my scripts and send me a bill and they debated with me that I still needed to wait until the doctor came out and handed me the paperwork herself. The front desk is exceedingly rude, and for the record, I had an incomplete yearly eye exam that took two hours start to finish and only because I made a scene.
