Hoping to give this place no stars. They were awful. The employee aggressively bullied my 20-year-old daughter into buying some glasses that she's not even sure she will like. He was short tempered and rude and did I say....aggressive. She came home crying. Is that the kind of customer service you want to support, Stanton Optical? Eye exam was super slow also and they ignored her for over 30 minutes after she signed in. I'll update this review if we get the glasses, don't like them and Stanton remedies this. But really? BEST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! What drew me to this place was of course the advertised special on the windows. I booked a same day appt online. When I went in, ERIC greeted me right away even though he was helping some other people and directed me where to go. When ERIC was available to assist me, I let him know exactly what I was interested in and wanted. I went in for the 2 for deal but let him know I understand that is for the most basic of frames and lenses, let him know the add ons I was interested in and he said he would give me my options. Now when I say ERIC went above and beyond, he went above and beyond so much so I ended up purchasing 3 pairs of glasses w certain add ons. I was initially only interested in 2 pairs and not even all the add ons I ended up getting. The icing on the cake.... from the time I was done with my eye exam, it only took an additional 30 mins for them to make one of the pairs of my glasses for me to take home that day!!!! So not only was I anticipating only getting 2 pairs of glasses and having to wait a couple weeks to get them, I purchased 3 pairs and was able to walk out w a pair. Now after I had such phenomenal service from all the staff I encountered, I let ERIC know that was so pleased with the service I was going to leave a review. I asked him to provide the names of the people I encountered and he did and then added the gentlemen who I hadn't even met, that crafted my glasses! I would've never thought to big up the person who made my glasses. ERIC, MARIO and JASON were the people who helped me and they were amazing. Now let's be clear, if you want anything other than some less expensive frames and plain basic lenses, you will definitely be paying more money. Don't expect to get an anti glare coating and transitional lenses w designer frames for the advertised basic glasses they have advertised on special. what I paid for 3 pairs of glasses, I would've ended up paying double for one pair at other well known chains. also, don't come in thinking that they have every material under the sun to create every type of glasses anybody orders and have them ready in an hour. I was prepared to wait a few weeks for my glasses so when I found out I was walking out w a pair that day and only had to wait an additional 30 mins...... I'm in heaven. One last thing, I am positive the people who gave poor reviews did so because they had the unrealistic expectation of getting 2 pairs of glasses of their choosing with whatever type of add ons for the advertised 2 for special. These are your eyes people..... you have to be good to them.... I spend more money on a pair of shoes and I'm sure other people do too but then they have the expectation and want to only spend $35 on a pair of glasses? Something that we need to see with. I recommended this place to my aunt, she went, was insulted by the optimist, given the wrong prescription, and they didn't make the 2 pairs of glasses she purchased properly. When she pointed these things out.... the manager Edgar made it clear that he wouldn't be issuing any refunds even though it was within 30 days and told her that the only thing he would do is take her new script and remake her glasses. When she tried to push for a refund saying how poor her overall experience was, Edgar refused to issue her a refund and when I asked him flat out was he refusing to give her a refund he said yes. Eric no longer works there. I don't generally like leaving poor reviews, however my experience and my aunts experience were polar opposites of each other. I don't like how Edgar was evasive in not giving her a refund but was talking around it until I flat out asked him was he refusing her a refund and he said yes with so much confidence, it was sad. read more

I was really excited to try out Stanton but I did not expect the experience I had. I walked in and wasn't greeted. Only reason why one of the girls in the front greeted me was because I was already walking towards her. Fine, I let it go trying to give this place a chance. She then just tells me to sign up at the front. And so I did. Not before being confused as to where to go or where exactly to sign up though. I sit down and just wait. No one bothered to follow up with me to see if I was a new patient especially since I figured I might've had to do some paperwork. Nothing! I felt absolutely ignored. It was not a welcoming friendly environment. The customer service was just awful. So I just crossed out my name and walked out. Mind you no one bothered to say a word to me. I had an appointment for 5 PM and I did not receive any help until almost 6pm.There was over 5 employees who were walking around which looked more like they were killing time rather then working. I spoke to several employees in regards to my insurance etc and none were able to answers my concerns not only was that frustrating but they all gave different answers. It was getting closer for them to close and you would think that they would try to speed up the process to get me out of there but they continue to ignore me. I did express my frustration to multiple employees some employees them selves agreed that they were unprofessional. One employee in particular thought my frustration was funny and had a smirk on his face. To top it off I also spoke to the manager and he also was unprofessional and rude. I'd suggest not to come here. I made an appointment and waited for 15 min so I can get my temperature checked and what not. There was no one there at the front desk and I was in the front of the line. I walked away. Then I thought I would give them a second chance soooo I made another appointment and the gentleman told me it was going to be 60 bucks to just have an eye exam no glasses just an eye exam. I thought that was pretty cheap so of course I made the appointment, went to the store waited a few minutes then they gathered all my information and told me it was going to be $90 for the eye exam when I was told it was 60 through the phone. I did question about it but the representative sad I must've called a wrong store yet my appointment was in their system. So I went three with it and did my eye exam and they did the normal stuff but in the end they had taken two pictures of my whole eyes that I did not request but the lady told me it comes with the eye exam so I figured I was going to get a copy since I'm paying $90 for them to scan my whole entire eye. That was not the case. They charge me so they to use their technology on me and didn't even give me a copy of what they did. Just scoot me out with my prescription. Ridiculous. read more

Very friendly service and welcoming staff! I had been to this location in the past for an eye exam and glasses (when it was under different management) and was not impressed. I needed to finally get contacts and decided to just try them again since they sent me an email reminding me to get an updated eye exam. I booked the appointment online and it was super quick and easy. I was welcomed by multiple people when I arrived and directed to where I needed to go. My eye exam was done with a virtual doctor, but it was like he was in the same room. He was able to operate the machines remotely from his location and was able to prescribe the correct lens quickly. Martha was extremely helpful and helped me feel at ease when I was having trouble trying on the lens and didn't rush me at all. I highly recommend this location for anyone who might be apprehensive about getting contacts. I'm glad I gave them a second chance! Even the store even felt cleaner and better cared for this time around. read more

I've had sub-par experiences with Stanton in the past in other locations, and so I was hesitant to shop here again. But, the price is right, and I've lost more glasses than I care to think about, so I ignored my worries and decided to try it once again. Boy am I glad I did. The eye exam was quick and easy, and my first pair was ready in a week. There was a hiccup or two with the first pair, and they weren't fitted to me because I picked them up right before closing. They slipped off a few days later and I got a small scratch on the lenses. I was a bit annoyed, but when I went in to pick up my second set, and explained what happened, Delia went out of her way to fix things for me. She delivered the kind of awesome customer service that makes people want to return. Went to Stanton as I have done business with them before. This appointment me and my wife went in to get contacts. So we get our eyes checked and get our trial pair of contacts and make our order. After getting home we both realized we were having difficulties looking at our phones and laptop. My wife called the next day and explained the problem. They said come back in and they'll fix the problem. So we went back and they fixed the problem by giving us a different pair and brand of contacts. The new prescription was written on a piece of paper and given to us. We were told to take a picture of it just in case we lost them. My wife asked if there was anything we needed to do to change our order to the new contacts. They said no when the contacts we ordered came in they would exchange them for the new prescription. So a few days before the contract should have been in my wife called just to check on the order and was told that the order never got placed because they were waiting on us to tell them if the new contacts were good. We did that before we left. They as apologized and said the contacts would be there in as few days. So we go down there on the day they said the contacts would be in. No contacts. Supposedly the person who delivers their contacts hadn't showed up yet and wouldn't get there until after 4pm. To top it off there was no order in the system for our contacts to begin with. The new prescription was never entered into the system. At that point we were done and just wanted our prescription so we could go home. But we were told they couldn't do that even though we paid for the prescription. Just because I don't want to get my contacts through their company they are holding my paid for prescription hostage. Not my fault you messed up. But I need my prescription asap!!!! This place has messed it up for all Stanton Opticals!!! read more

I just got off the phone with probably one of the most caring and concerning man I ever had the pleasure doing business with. General/Store Manager Frank keep doing what your doing! There was a huge mix up about insurance providers and he effectively took care of the situation himself! Not a lot of General Managers take the time to talk to their customers the way he did. Definitely going back for more frames in the near future. 100% satisfied..also Richard from the lab area was awesome as well as he helped me and my niece out with fitting for our glasses..he showed great care and concern. Is giving no star an option? Worst customer service both at the Visalia and Fresno Ca. locations. Both Stanton store managers Sam from Fresno and Edgar from Visalia Stanton locations need to be educated on professionalism and customer service. If I knew returning a no good eyeglass prescription was such a big deal I wouldn't have ever stepped into Stanton Optical. I not only returned my eyeglasses because of the prescription but also due to the really extremely poor customer service. They do not hold their word when they say "full refund within 30 days if not satisfied" as mentioned on their website. I will not be supporting a business that makes a valued customer feel like they are wrong. My year old prescription from my regular optical doctor office worked better than the new Stanton prescription. Stanton decides the customers are wrong. If I wouldn't have called corporate I wouldn't have received a full refund. My lesson learned for not reading reviews before stepping into Stanton Optical. And please do not reach out to me to apologize, obviously customers have been having issues with Stanton Optical for years from all reviews I've read and nothing has changed or improved. read more

Horrible costumer service, manager was super rude. two frame and lenses were both measured wrong, had headaches for couple days. Didn't apologize for their mistake, just said: we are already fixing it for you, what else? Make sure they are not misbranding. Telling different information from different staff. Only had one pair I liked, so used my own glass frame to make the second pair. Told me I can come back to get my second pair when their blind shipment comes, so I can pick the one pair fit me. Then I picked the second pair to get it done while they fixing the wrong measurement pairs. manager told me personally, I can not get 3 pairs even one is my own frame. So I had to give back my lenses from my own frame before they are willing to do my second pair. Wish I had read reviews before I came to this location. The initial treatment from staff was great, and the contact exam was fine. However, I waited over an hour for my "sample" contacts after my exam, and they were not even close to what I know I wear. The owner tried to give me a -3.0 when I know I wear a -1.25. I did the buy one get one free deal and picked both of my frames one was regular and the second pair was tinted. When they called I picked up both pairs and realized after that both were the same frames even though they weren't supposed to be. I called and got sent to customer service and was told it's the store's decision on what was going to happen with the other frames I was supposed to get. They said the store would call me that same day but I never got a call and when my husband went in they told him I can purchase the pair I originally wanted. I made an appointment over the phone for today for my son. When we arrived I was told I would have to pay over $300 out of pocket just for lenses alone even with private insurance that covers 80% of optical care. I gave the representative on the phone my insurance information and they gave me a price point that was way off of what the lady in the office told me today who was also snarky with me from the beginning. Now if I was told I needed to pay over $300 for lenses alone I would have gone elsewhere like a private optometrist office which I will be doing now. read more

I received exceptional service here. Martha was super friendly and provided me with great frame options, I ended up purchasing three of her suggestions. I have never received such helpful and attentive service at any other optical retail location. The doctor was friendly as was the other staff at check in. I also appreciate their Covid protocol, I felt safe during my visit, including my eye exam. They have bins so every frame is sanitized after each use and they limit the amount of people in the store. Promises overnight deliver of glasses, but when we ordered glasses they told us they had a problem with their local equipment and they'd have to send them out to Fresno. We agreed to this, but more than two weeks later we call and find out they haven't even sent the order out. Drawn in by their advertisement of "Two pair - $99," These turned out to be 1 or 2 powered reading glasses that you can buy for a couple of dollars anywhere. This is was my 3rd time using Stanton and its officially my LAST!!! 1- Selection is horrible!!! Some display glasses are broken., glasses are sticky and the lenses are so dirty that you cant see out them 2- Cheap eye exams .... Which is why I came here. Need to get a new prescription and replace my current lenses. 3- Had an appointment and still took over 30 min to get seen. Really? No one was even working it feels like. Very unpleasant, unorganized, and inconsiderate of the safety, health, and time of their customers. They did not sanitize anything while I was there and I found no sanitizer, only empty bottles. After asking to speak to a manager, I had to wait almost 10minutes and he was not at all concerned about why I might be unhappy with their service. read more

If I could give this place a big fat zer0 I would. I made an appt for 9:15am got there at 9am. I checked in by signing in on the clipboard. As I sat there waiting 3 more patients walked in after that also had appts, they signed in right below me. I sat there for 45 min without a soul communicating with me about my appt. instead I watched as they called all 3 people that came in after me. They had appts at the same time but somehow their appts had priority over mine. After an hour I stood up and complained, they seem unapologetic. After living in this town for a year I have experienced racial tension several times with its Caucasian natives. I couldn't help notice the other patients were Caucasian. In fact I was the only non-Caucasian in the office. I am just left to speculate, but growing up in a predominantly Caucasian city in Colorado I know racism passively directed towards me. I got a disgusting feeling in my stomach and became very upset. I asked for the corporate number and left. I called corporate and they directed me to the store manager frank. I placed a call to the manager Frank around 10:23am, whom I was told gets in at 10 am. And it just so happened he wasn't there yet. I am not on government assistance, and pay full price for my glasses and contacts. So I wasn't there looking for a hand out. I am a paying customer. I will never go back and urge any non Caucasian to do the same. How they treat people at this establishment is not ok. Went in because my daughter got her glasses broken at basketball practice and we needed glasses for Championships game happening the next day. We started off a bit rocky with a staff that I won't call out here publicly but Delia absolutely saved the day. We walked out with TWO pairs of glasses and it didn't break the bank. multiple bait and switches. I went into Stanton expecting the 70 dollars for two pairs special. At first, I went to the optometry department for a prescription. the receptionist told me that I would have to pay 30 bucks just for the optometrist check up and it will be teleconference. I told them fine because I did want to wait. After I got done, I asked them for a copy of the prescription. The receptionist told me the optical department will have it. The optical department told me I will see it when I pick out my frames. so I picked out my frames and walked back to the chair with the optician. The optician pulled out her sheet and told me my glasses will cost me 500 dollars for two pairs. I was sticker shocked and asked her to give me my prescription to price shop. she refused and asked me one hundred dollars for a copy of the prescription. I asked her why. she said it was because I was not buying from Stanton and must pay more for the prescription. I told her no and make another demand for the prescription. she then went to the back and came back with the quote of two hundred dollars. Now, I have regrets of even paying that price because I feel like these sobs will try to con me with some cheap junk. read more
