This is my first time trying out Stanton optical. I came to this location as it is convenient for it. Got there at 1125. It is located in a shopping center, so there is a lot of parking. I walked in and was greeted by DJ. I informed him I had an eye exam and he said to go to the left side and wait. My appointment was for 1130 but I wasn't helped until around 1150. The woman seemed a bit uncertain while doing my exam. During that exam and after it, the woman asked for my glasses a couple of times. While I was waiting, I asked her if she could clean them as they got dirty from her getting them a few times. And she said they could do it at the counter. I thought she would clean them since she's the one that got them dirty but oh well. I get up look at all the glasses, then as the person working at the counter how much longer for the eye exam results. He said that was just my pre exam. He then left and went to the optometrist and said it would be a bit longer. After another 15 minutes I was finally passed into the eye exam. After that, I looked at the all glasses again and then was held by DJ. From the time that I walked in to getting my eye exam results it was at 1250. I'm not sure why I made an appointment if they just treated me as a walk-in. I decided to just pay the co-pay for my eye exam and decided to get my glasses somewhere else. read more

Went to get an eye exam. They had a technician do it, he got my prescription wrong. I wore the glasses not knowing it was wrong and they would give me a headache. I went back told them i thought the prescription was off. Got another eye exam from the doctor and he said they were off by 1.25. They sent my glasses to get corrected. It's been a month later and i still don't have my glasses back with the new prescription. The only good part of this whole ordeal is they aren't charging me. read more

My mom had her eye exam with staff member Oliver. During the appointment, he was not only unprofessional, but he also acted in a rude and racially insensitive manner toward us. We have been waiting for her glasses since the exam. However, the prescription we received was much stronger than expected, and it does not match what she needs. I read some negative reviews and it seemed like there was some communication problems. De'Joun was running the whole store by himself. I was the first customer at 9:00 am. A vision test is $79. I walked in to get my vision test done because I don't have time to see the Kaiser Optometry Department and they were booked until September. You will have to fill out some medical forms. The experience is very unique. De'Joun, an "in store" optician helped me take my eye pressure tests and scanned my current eyeglasses to determine for my eye exam. Time for the eye exam. De'Joun lead me into a room where there was an another optician/optometrist on a monitor. I don't remember her name but she controlled the "lens machine" and reading chart remotely to determine my new prescription results. I paid and was out of the door by 9:53 am. After I was out, at least 4 more people came in. I had to tell a gentleman to wait in the back because De'Joun was hidden in the back helping another customer. I wish they made a sign to direct customers to the back. I assume busy times can be hit or miss. I didn't buy eyeglasses from Stanton Optical because they didn't have the color and style frames I like from Zenni Optical. Went to buy glasses. There was only one person, but i went 30 minutes before close so that was understandable. The gentleman was very nice and professional especially since others were being rude. The only reason it is no 5 stars is because the lens i chose was 119 and when we rang it in, it somehow ended up at nearly 300. Went online and got the same pair for 85. read more

I've been to stanton a couple times! Personally i'm not that much of a fan of the eye exams as the doctors are only virtual, I prefer a doctor in person. But I do recommend getting your frames here! Way more options and reasonable prices than others places. The staff is so friendly and helped me price match to get the best deal! I have a high prescription so I was pleasantly surprised it only took a week to have my glasses ready. The lenses itself are really good, I was happy with how much they were able to thin my glasses down and how clear they were. Insane difference from the other place I went to. read more

I made an appointment for my partner because they said they had a promo for 2 pairs of glasses for $79 of it was single prescription and that it was double prescription it would be $176 and for both of the promos it would be free eye exam. He got his eyes examined and they gave him a prescription and they charged him $200 for just one pair of glasses and told him 7-12 days for them to arrive. His appointment was June 23 and he just called and they said they are estimated to be here until July 14th like why lie about the time frame when you could be honest he paid $200 because he doesn't have any glasses right now and he really needs them he asked for a refund and they couldn't even do that either this place is a total sham don't waste your time they may seem professional but they are not at all they just want to take your money !!!! read more

Went in for simple eye exam and refraction. Did first half of exam with standard machine and a "technician" that was very unsure of herself. With that finished I was informed that the refraction would be done via remote video.....what? Ok let's try. Some lady who said she was in Florida explained she would remotely manipulate the optical refractometer. I could barely understand her English. End result was inclusive.....really...come on. They wanted me to come back when they actually had a real doctor on site and offered to schedule. Stanton has one real optometrist in the Sacramento area that rotates through one day a week. I let them know my schedule was pretty full and left with a "don't call me, I'll call you." I should have read their reviews first and not listened to their over produced TV ads. I can see why they need to be heavy on ads. Good part cost nothing but my time. read more

1.They use a virtual doctor, but this information isn't disclosed until after you've already booked the appointment. That should absolutely be communicated upfront. 2.I was given a trial pair of contacts and had to pay for them immediately or face an extra $119 charge later. After trying them for a few days, I found they were too drying for my eyes. Now I have to drive 45 minutes just to return them and buy a different pair. I had an eye exam on 4/11/2025, I was greeted by Breana she was very polite and professional. I decided to look at some frames before my appointment. Any questions I had she helped me with a smile. She went the extra mile to assist me. I also was helped by Ottmar and he was polite and professional. I had many questions about the frames that I chose. He went over everything with me and also let me know what my insurance would cover and what I would have to pay. He was very patient and listened to my concerns. DJ was there as well, and he was very helpful. I just want to say that it was fantastic customer service from the staff. Please shout them all out in the next meeting they gave me a five-star service. It is rare to see that in customer service nowadays. This is why I wanted to do a review. STANTON OPTOMETRY DISCRIMINATES AGAINST IMMIGRANTS WHO CANT READ OR SPEAK ENGLISH!!! If I could do zero I would. First, you would not be seeing an actual optometrist, you'll be seeing a VIRTUAL technician. Second, they do not accommodate and DISCRIMINATE against patients who can't speak or read english. I specifically told them my mom cannot read English, and the VIRTUAL TECH was a complete idiot and tells us they cannot see my mom as she cannot read English. We've never had issues at any other places with my mom getting her eyes checked! I will definitely be reporting this place. DO NOT COME. Just FYI Stanton customer service helpline is just as useless and discriminating. They cannot help and will tell you that your complaint is useless if the patient doesn't speak English because they do not have a translator and refused to let me speak on my mother's behalf. *** we did end up at INSIGHT OPTOMETRY on 1010 Hurley Way, Sacramento, CA 95825. I SUGGEST PEOPLE GO THERE, the cost is reasonable, they are extremely patient and you get a REAL OPTOMETRIST not some fake VIRTUAL TECH. We spent only $130 for two pairs of glasses, including eye exam for my mom. They were also able to catch that my mom has cataract, which I can guarantee would not have been caught by using STANTON OPTOMETRY. read more

I live in Vacaville but wanted to try a doctor who could do exam and glasses the same day, so i drove the 40 minutes. With that being said. Very nice staff and helpful, but the eye exam was virtual and I felt that the doctor was rushing, he wasn't giving me enough time with the letter or when I needed to pick which vision was better 1 or 2. They used the same letters each time, so even though I could not technically see them I knew what they were. I do need to go back to see the doctor in person to redo the exam. They do have many glasses to pick from, but I did not leave with any since I have to come back. read more

A better experience than I had anticipated. Every aspect of my experience exceeded the quality of any high-end eyewear outfitter. Everything from the the exam, the explanation of options and upgrades, the frame selection process and the knowledge of the staff was impressive. Apparently, I had an undiagnosed astigmatism, for decades and now that my new prescription compensates for it; my vision is the best it's been in memorable history. There's no way a good fitting pair of eyeglasses can be made within 1 hour.. Picked some frames from the "designer" section and when I got home I found the same ones on google for $9.. They just take the frames off of the display and "make" them for you.. used and tried on by everyone for who knows how long? Definitely got what I paid for.. such cheap plastic. Terrible quality frames, and I didn't hesitate on going back in for a refund. Back to Costco I go and never going anywhere else. read more

I made an appointment online for 5pm today & I entered the building around 4:50 , nobody greeted me at the door so I began walking around until FINALLY someone told me what area I should wait in. I sat down because there were many other people waiting & the employees didn't really acknowledge anyone around , I finally got checked in around 5:10 & continued to wait. There were many walk ins so I understand I had to wait a while but I made an appointment to avoid wasting my time , they even serviced someone who got there 30 minutes after I did before they even checked with me so I got up & left because I was upset around 6 pm. The advertising is extensive deceiving . I think the only way you might actually get two pairs of glasses for as low as $59 is if they have no lenses . I really hate when businesses use these deceiving type of tactics to draw people in only for them to be hit with an unexpected bill . I always feel like it's best to just be honest and straightforward but that's just my thoughts on that . I brought my daughter in for I exam it was over a video call , she got two pair of glasses for just under $200. One pair was 100 and the free pair was only $19 wow what a deal. I was there a month and a week ago. I had a feeling in the pit of my stomach that I might be getting what I pay for, meaning I won't get the right service. I took a chance and got fitted with contacts. Oh my gosh, I did my due diligence to wear 2 different type of grades to see what suits me best. By the way, the televised Optometrist in my opinion assessed me very quickly. I believe it was short of a thorough evaluation because she did not give me the right prescription. Ok, the samples that were given to me did not work-mind you this what the Optometrist recommended and "optician" has fitted me. I put them on as suggested for a week but it made me nauseous, it gave me a headache. I tried a different pair, still not the right fit nor I could see clearly. Also the diameter of the lenses were too big....thanks, "experienced Optician" as he say. So I go back again (2nd visit), a "follow up" I shared that the contacts were not working for me and I wanted the ones he ordered returned. I asked to see a REAL LIVE DOCTOR-the "optician" referred me to the one in Florin. Okay 3rd visit with Stanton I drive all the way in Florin..."General Manager," Cody says he'll take care of calling Elk Grove to get my contacts ordered. That did not happen.. I contacted Elk Grove because I have not gotten a call to pick up. A lady that works there says, "yeah, they just got here." LIAR!!!! Now, 4th visit to get contacts that I paid for; this is Friday already, a week after my appointment in Florin. I arrive to find out they were the same contacts that I did not want. I call the Florin store and I find out that they never ordered it. This woman that I spoke with says I have to physically return the box of contacts to get ones I want. Stupid! Needless to say, I should have listened to my instincts...DO NOT GO TO ANY STANTON OPTICAL..I have to wait for another week again hopefully they don't screw this up at this point I am not hopeful. Worst place ever. ****Florin never contacted Elk Grove as promised by Cody. Hated my experience with both stores. First, I decided to go to Stanton Optical because I was not able to get an appointment with my regular OD. I also decided to go to Stanton because of the 2 for 1 for frames. I have to say, this is the one issue where I have a problem. With frames costing 2 for $59, and a free eye exam, I am not sure how my final bill got to $640 dollars. But, I have to say that the eye exam was a televisit and it was very well done. The Ophthalmologist was professional and seemed to be well versed in her duties. The store staff was very helpful. When I returned to pick up my order, I was served by a young man who was extremely helpful. He answered all my questions thoroughly. At the end of the day, having worn my new prescription for the day, I was really uncomfortable with the experience and so, I stopped by the store on my way home. I was greeted by and help by the same young man as earlier in the day. He took about 30 minutes with me to explain the adjustment period needed for progressive lens versus bifocals/trifocals. When I left, I felt much more comfortable with what I needed to do to get more comfortable with my new prescriptions. Fast forward 24 hours....I was at the store and when I leaned over, my glasses fell off my face and hit the floor. The earpiece broke. I immediately went back and THE SAME YOUNG MAN, I had dealt with 24 hours before, replaced the earpiece , readjusted the fit to ensure they wouldn't fall off again and even created a bit of a hook behind the ear. With that he wished me well and I was on my way. The young man, Michael, needs to be commended for his customer service. Although I was bit bit shocked at the $600 cost for two pair of glasses, the customer service offered by Michael took away some of the sting. Michael...thank you! read more

Okay so here is my experience! I made an appointment online because my co worker said she got here glasses here with no insurance and the exam was free. I go in at 12pm on a Sunday. I don't leave until almost 2pm and I left without glasses.. makes no since already right. Well I do a pre exam then sit and wait for the actual eye exam when I go into the room I'm shocked that there is NO DOCTOR. The eye doctor is on a tv screen and does ur exam that way. Afterwards I pick out glasses. I would suggest going to Arden or Elk Grove because their selection is bigger. The ONLY pair I loved were 159 dollars then I got a cheaper pair for free. So it's much more than 59 for two pairs.. the lens I think were 130 ish. Out the door I paid 250 and was told they glasses making person isn't there today and i have to come back tomorrow. So I did and picked up my glasses. On the way home I realized when that these glasses were not correct so I switched pairs... nope! Still wrong, I get home and call them. I'm then told that I would need to see the actual doctor is is ONLY there on tuesdays ... well that doesn't work for my schedule so I was told that Arden has a doctor everyday and to go there. I went to Arden on Friday.. when I told the doctor what happened he asked to see my glasses, checked them under his equipment and said both my pairs were made incorrectly!!! I then waited about an hr to get them fixed... but in the mean time TY kept me entertained and she very funny and knew she stuff. Next time I go to Stanton there's no doubt that I will go to Arden. However the people at Florin were very kind but I think they need a little more experience. read more

This was by far the worst experience with an eye appointment. Our appointment was scheduled for 1:30pm, my husband didnt get seen until little after 2pm, that took 45min -1 hr then he picked out glasses then it took another 30 mins to get rung up at the register. At the register they didnt even want to give him glasses the same day, until I asked if we could get them today since my husband's sight is bad. They said that would be another 25mins. While waiting overheard another person had been waiting for over an hour for her glasses that were done but noone bothered to tell her. Then the staff were bickering at one another for lack of communication. Staff were taking random breaks leaving the place amuck. Needless to say when my husband got his glasses he was told give it a day to adjust. He never adjusted so he went back. Instead of fixing they questioned him about the adjustment period as if it was his fault. They attempted fixing them but made them worst. They altered the left lens instead of the right lens like my husband had asked. They attempted again and still made it worse. Told him to wait an hour but he still walked away empty handed because they say they were backed up. Then they accused him of only looking through one lens instead of both as if hes a kid and doesn't know how to wear glasses. They also rushed him out the store. Said they were backed up and urged him to come back 4 days later like he doesnt have a fulltime job in which he needs to see. He got two pairs from them and the prescription was wrong in both pair even after 3 alterations. We came back for a full refund, the manager asked if he had seen the doctor which he hadn't because they do webcam exams. She said that's what she would recommend instead of a refund. My question is why didnt anyone ask about a doctor before?! Now you ask only after we want our money back. Service was poor. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more
