I have been a customer for over 15 years, recently 2026 purchased another pair of glasses . Today July 8th ,,026 stopped in and brought in a pair of wire rim glasses that I purchased no less than 9 years ago. A complete waste of time. My wife was promised an exam for DMV purposes. It took 2 hours. It was then sent remotely to a Dr. The Dr. put the results on hold and would not respond. A day later and many phone calls to the store, no prescription, just excuses. We went to a different company saw a DR, a thorough exam, and had a prescription and DMV form filled out in less than 1 hour. Went in looking to get two pairs of glasses for $79 as advertised and end up almost $600 for two pair of glasses. For the best lenses available the lenses started flaking within just over a year flaking to the point where it was hard to see out of. Took him into the Jensen Beach location and they said it wasn't covered. They couldn't tell me how it happened or what to do about it. I'm more interested in just selling me a new pair of glasses to restore my current ones. Don't pay extra for their overpriced glasses. They're junk.! read more

Dishonorable! Things started out fine though it took forever to get the glasses. I got 2 pairs, one of which was the automatic turn to sunglasses coating. I immediately noticed that the time for the glasses to go back to normal after being outside was ridiculously long & dangerous since it reduced my eyesight. I have cataracts, I'm aged & this was not good. i went back to the person who had helped me, Kyle, and like a robot, he kept repeating "there's nothing I can do". When I told him it was dangerous & that I had had that type of lens before without that experience, he continued to reply "there's nothing I can do". He also said different vendors do things differently and I ventured - it would have been nice for him to explain this in the beginning. I Went back in August and a lovely lady checked and said yes my script was off and that she could make me new lenses within an hour. I asked her if "she was remaking them anyway" if it was possibly to swap out my frames. she said yes. I was so happy because I really didn't like the frames I had picked the first time. I responded to their ad for "Two pairs of glasses with free examination for $79." I took a young man who needed glasses looking for two of the promotional specials. It was a Christmas gift for him. When the salesman realized I had a debit card for mine from my healthcare provider, he asked for my card and called the number on the back to check my balance. He found that I had not used it yet and it was December. We chose frames from the $79 selection. My glasses turned out to be almost $500 and my friends the same as they loaded the bill up with options without asking me: scratch resistant, anti-fogging, blah, blah, blah, To make matters worse, the glasses are unusable. I got progressive lenses but I cannot see clearly out of them without wearing them at the end of my nose and putting my chin in my chest. These people are unethical scammers. read more

Can you give zero stars? This place is the absolute WORST. They checked me in for my appointment, literally forgot about me for AN HOUR. When I finally got in it was outsourced doctor I couldn't understand and asked for an in person visit who wouldn't be in for THREE weeks. I got told I had an attitude and was rude by the staff for asking legitimate questions about my script. Unfortunately when the doctors not in the room and via computer my script wasn't even filled properly so all in all a waste of $275 and time. I've been wearing contact lenses since I was 18 years old. I told them I was here for mono vision contacts, which I have been using for years. I had my examination performed by a refractory expert. With my trial contacts, everything up close looks blurry. No mono vision. I am given one trial pair than another to try and create mono vision. I told them my current prescription, no one would listen to me. I was told, they are working in a mono vision prescription just wait. Finally, I put my original contacts back in and inform Stanton I cannot wait any longer. I'm asked to come back in for more trials when they receive the RX. I'm not going back. This is not ok. They we're going to make me pay out of pocket and file my own insurance, but cannot provide me with an accurate prescription! Horrible! read more

Based on the reviews this place got, it was a hit or miss between visits, so here's my perspective on the place. I'll update it after time goes on if my something randomly happens to my lenses. ----- First I called and scheduled an appointment for 11:30 am. I thought I'd come in, get an eye exam and new glasses. My last exam was around 11 - 12 years ago and since then my eyes changed. So I was in need of new lenses. So when I came here, they had a deal going on, pay for glasses, you get a second pair for free then you get the eye exam free also. BUT what they don't tell you is that you have to pay for the lenses. Which will run you about $200+ dollars at checkout still. I looked through the glasses and nothing caught my eye. I tried to find replicas of my glasses but the sale associate said companies stopped making my kind. I went the other route and replaced the lenses on my current glasses, why not walk out with the glasses I walked in with? And it's cheaper she said. For those wondering the eye exam costs $95. During this, the doctor showed me different slides to see which lens I see better. The last part was she dilated my eyes and checked if my eyes were healthy. This took between 10 - 15 minutes. After that, it was checkout, you can view my image of the receipt, retail was $282 and I paid was $277. I was on a tight schedule that day (they were also) so I told them that I would be able to my lenses the following pick up around 10 - 11am and they installed them into my current glasses. read more

I went to Stanton Optical in Jupiter as I was trying to use my insurance and no place would let me use it except for the exam. I went to the foot doctor that day and on my way home I decided to go to Stanton Jupiter store. I met with Beth, and she said it's Wednesday and the Doctor can see you. I had an exam and was checked for contacts and eyeglasses. Beth ordered my contacts and fit me for prescription sunglasses and a pair of regular eyeglasses if I didn't want to wear my contact lenses. Beth called my insurance which is Aetna Medicare and they told her I could buy all three and they would reimburse me what my total out of pocket was. I am so thrilled she took the time to take care of my frustration and I paid for the 2 pair of glasses and my six-month supply of contacts. The best part is I got what I needed and was reimbursed the total of what I spent. So happy and I see GREAT!!! Thank you, Beth, for your help and I LOVE Stanton Optical. See you next year for sure. Do NOT GIVE YOUR BUSINESS TO STANTON OPTICAL I was a client for a few years and always had service related issues at the Jupiter location. Contacts not ordered correctly, shipped to the wrong address, rude and unprofessional staff members with little to no experience, the issues are numerous. I stopped doing business with them this week after numerous calls to the customer service line asking for someone from the executive office to contact me. After filing a report, no one ever contacted me-typical. I gave them chance after chance after chance! They simply do not care about clients and it is reflected in their attitudes. The corporate office 800 number I spoke to several times and assured me someone would call me that day. To this day no one has called. Please don't insult me by telling me to call your customer support line again. If Stanton wants to do anything then let someone from their executive office contact me. Horrible experience. First, they change my appointment time four times without asking. Then after a 45 minute wait, take me in for an exam. After having me throw out my contacts they announced they no longer have my size in stock and have to give me a similar size. When I go to pay they inform me that they no longer that my insurance "as of last week". The only reason I went there to start with I promptly canceled my glasses order and left to never return. They Bait & Switch with prices, knowing no one would ever choose the ugly glasses they advertise 2 for $69. Now that they have you invested in the eye exam, they show you the crappy frames that are 2 for $69. Then, after you say no-way and pay for all the upgrades.... you still get Very Poor Quality "Plastic" Glasses that don't even compare to glasses purchased in other stores. I also question that the prescriptions are accurate. Their in-house lab makes the lenses..... either the prescription is off or the lab is off....new glasses should improve vision, not make it worse! When you ask for a refund they refuse and sell you on more upgrades instead. When the upgrades do not improve vision either.....you have to call your credit card company to dispute the transactions. Our eye insurance changed to a different provider this past year and I couldn't go to my regular eye doctor. I called Stanton which accepted my new insurance and happily gave me an appointment for the following day. At my appointment, I saw children's frames and inadvertently thought Stanton was a family eye doctor. So, after my appointment, I made an appointment for my teenager to upgrade her current glasses into contacts. My daughter was so excited going in to her appointment. Yet things turned downhill. We had my young son with us, and I was told not let him play on the floor - because there were staples all over the floor. (I'm not sure why no one bothered vacuuming, as the vacuum is out in plain sight in the contact lens room). The doctor performed the exam for my daughter and sent us into another room for the contacts. That employee, while nice enough, wasn't very helpful explaining how to insert the lens. She also wouldn't put the lens in my daughter's eyes either. So I walked over to assist, as I've been wearing contacts almost 30 years. As I approached my daughter, the doctor walked into the room and told me that I couldn't help, that my daughter had to do it on her own or she wasn't getting any contacts. Now, I have been to plenty of eye doctors over the years, and I've never of that. I have had doctors insert my contacts many times. I couldn't believe they wouldn't help her place her contacts in, especially as a young, first-time wearer. The only "help" my daughter received was hearing the employee say "try it again" over and over for about 30 minutes. Needless to say, my daughter was very upset and very frustrated when we left, without contacts. They brought my daughter to near tears on a day she had been so excited for. This office needs a complete overhaul in servicing their customers. It didn't appear that any of the staff had any prior training except for the older lady that works in the very back room. They should also probably get rid of the false advertising claiming to be a "family" eye doctor. After scolding my 3 year-old on several occasions and then making my teenager feel awful, they repeatedly asked us to come back in a week later to "try again." They must be completely oblivious to their behavior. I explained that we would not be coming back, that we would find an eye doctor that could help us. This was the worst experience I've ever had at a doctors office. Two of the staff members we encountered (the doctor and someone fitting glasses) were very rude and by their choice of words, tone of voice and mannerisms, they have no tolerance with children and no desire to work with them. I will never go back to Stanton or any place like it for eye exams. read more

Unbelievably slow and not very good service. My wife bought two pairs of glasses and one was messed up and had to be reordered. It has been almost a month now and we still don't have them. I went back to get new glasses last week. Took a while and a great deal of effort for them to get with the insurance company to confirm coverage. I just picked up the glasses. Not bad. Problem is that I paid $225 out of pocket and insurance was charged an additional $400. I can't believe the screwing that I got and so did the insurance company. My wife got two pairs of glasses just like mine for $300 at Costco. I'll be going to here next time. A real sham!! read more

Did not explain to us any of the current promotions and which glasses were part of those promotions. He worked extremely slow and did not even bother to look into our insurance as requested. This is the most incompetent optometrists' office I've ever been to. I do not have any complaints regarding their doctors, they seem to know what they are doing and do it well, but are virtually disconnected from the sales side of the store. My appointment was set for Saturday (4/9). Everything went fine that day. I picked out two pairs of glasses, with a sales person and my boyfriends help, seeing I was virtually blind from having my eyes dilated (good job, guys.) I got one plastic pair as regular day to day glasses, and was advised to get the more expensive lenses that are "hard coat/scratch resistant" with anti reflective coating (AR). The others were a pair of metal glasses to be turned into sunglasses. Another $45 add on. Then I was told they have to tell us it may take up to 14 days, but usually come within 7-10. They also give you an 800 number to call to check up on the order. I called every day for 2 weeks and the only message I got was "Your order is still processing in our lab." The representatives you can opt to talk to couldn't give me much of an answer either. I called the Jupiter location a day before the last day I was told to expect them to see if there was anything that could be done to get them there before Saturday. Surprise, they had one of the pairs just sitting there. Stopped by after work that Friday and picked them up. They were just handed to me and let me go on my way. That weekend, I cleaned those glasses about 2 times a day, because they collected so much gunk (thanks AR coating! Google it, I'm not the only one to complain about it.) and I kept thinking they were hazy from stuff on the lenses. Monday, I walked in complaining they were getting dirty way too quickly and I believed it was the coating. The only question asked was "Do you use water to clean them?" after I had just said multiple times the only way I can get them clean is with dish soap and water. One of the technicians said she could take the coating off for me if I really wanted to, but to wait a little longer. Tuesday, I walked in again after work and told them was something was wrong. My vision had been hazed over. Everything was washed out and like a beam of sun was shooting in my face. They took one look at them and realized they needed to flatten (I have a slight astigmatism) and I mentioned they were slightly crooked on my face. That was done, but my eyes were still a little sensitive too light. I also picked up my sunglasses. They were broken before I ever got them home. Wednesday, I went in to their store during my lunch break to have the glasses re-adjusted and return the broken glasses. They were sitting too low on my nose. They advised I flatten them a little more to get rid of the haziness. I told them it looks just about perfect now, but they slide down my face. They sat on the right place on my face, but now my vision was back to being cloudy from being flattened too much. I went back after work to have them adjusted again. I tried wearing them for the rest of the day hoping my eyes would adjust. Nope, they royally screwed up again. I couldn't focus on anything. I felt cross-eyed. It is now Thursday (4/28). I walked in as they opened a little after 9am to have them adjusted again. I waited for about 20 minutes for someone to help me. Someone comes up, grabs my glasses that were on the table and asks if they need to be adjusted. I said yes. She just starts heating them. She never asks what the problem was or why I needed them to be re-adjusted. She just started working. I stopped her and told her what the problem was. She just kept doing her thing. Then 2 more times. I walked out, looked in a mirror, realized they were crooked and walked right back in to have that fixed. By lunch, they were still messed up. I walked in demanding to talk to a manager because I was done dealing with this. I explained what was wrong (ignoring my request to talk to a manager) and they took my glasses to have the prescription checked. THIS TOOK THEM 6 VISITS TO DO. This is something that should have been done before they were ever handed to me. I was told the axis was supposed to be at 178, it was at 1. I don't know if she meant 100, or 1. They explained they would reorder the glasses and rush them for me. Longer story short, I reprimanded them for their poor work and demanded a full refund if they come back still messed up. All they had to do was check my prescription/glasses BEFORE I was given the glasses, like they are supposed to be, and there would have never been a problem. Instead virtually an entire week was wasted, and I'm just pissed. 4 pairs of glasses in 1 week for $400. My advise is spend a little more money and have a real professional make your glasses. This place is crap. **UPDATE: I cancelled the order and requested a refund. I don't believe this company deserves my money or business. I lost $45 on the "free" eye exam though. In the world of glasses SO has the right idea! I had my eyes examined & dilated ~ After selecting my frames. My first order arrived in store 7 days after purchase! I was pleased with the quality of the lenses and frames! My 2nd order was placed the day before Christmas and I received my glasses 10 Days later as they had to ship 'em to me in another state !! No real covid procedures in place. A free for all Come one come all and cram right in here. Did not see anyone doing any wiping or sanitizing. Not temps nothing. Just some Mask wearing. Even better after calling to confirm they accept my insurance it turned out they didn't actually accept my insurance. They give a discount for my insurance and then after paying for them I can go to my insurance and try to get the money back as they are out of network. They don't know how much I get back from My insurance as that is up To my insurance company. So 2 for one sale yeah! If I buy the two for one deal I can get two pairs for $850. But if I buy one pair it's 580. Not sure how that equates to buy one get one free. Something about a discount on the lenses that you don't get if you buy two pairs. If that seems expensive it's maybe because she said I should get the wider reading area progressives and blue blocker coating. Well how much extra does that cost? She can't tell me until she puts it in the computer. Well how much discount do I get for my insurance she can't tell Me until she puts it in the computer. So I say ok go ahead and put it in the computer. She says well are you going to buy them? Because it appears putting all this in the computer takes a lot of work and unless I am committed to purchasing she is not going to going through all the work of putting it into the computer to tell me how much it will cost. In the end the whole thing felt like a big scam and I walked out. Went up the street to Walmart. Big difference. Walmart was limiting the number of people that could go in taking temperatures sanitizing social distancing way more professional and walked Out with glasses that cost 370. And with my insurance applied paid 90 out of pocket. read more

THIS IS THE WORST PLACE AND WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE NOT EVEN MY WORST ENEMY. it appears that the female eye doctor does not want to work OR IS JUST THERE FOR THE COMMISSION OF THE PURCHASE. I had a scheduled appointment for 5:15pm LAST WEEK; I got there at 5:05pm; ten minutes before my appointment. I was told to wait; when I walked in the rep said you are late if your appointment was at 5pm. I told him my appointment was at 5:15pm. so he confirmed with the guy who made the appointment AS WEEK. so they call me and when I am getting to the door OF THE EXAMINING ROOM he says no she is not ready. I sat down and waited to be told that they would have to reschedule me. I can be seen tomorrow at the Northlake office. wow!!! I really believed this all had something to do with the purchase of the glasses. the rep said you know you have to buy the glasses here in order for the doctor to exam you. I said I know, obviously I am here and will get the glasses here, but I will not pay what I paid last time. I do not intend on buying glasses that are too expenses. due to the pandemic I cannot afford to pay over $300.00; which is what I paid last time. Well after that conversation I was asked to wait again and then I was hit with the whole rescheduling scheme.
