Kayla King, the sales manager is so helpful and easy-going. She's personable and has an incredibly kind and considerate demeanor. When you are picking out your frames, request her to be your sales girl! She helped me pick out the right frames for my face shape. She really took her time and is so patient and knowledgable. I didn't realize before coming here that I was wearing frames that didn't sit properly on my face, never had the right measurements and had always struggled with wearing glasses before because of that. I've come back to purchase new frames from her twice in one month. She does her research and really cares about her patients. I have horrible vision and I honestly have never previously experienced better customer service and kindness with picking out proper frames that fit my style and prescription. read more

We went in and bought 2 sets of glasses each and Trisha was great. It has all gone downhill from there. Took over 2 weeks to get them and short a pair of mine. Mine were missing the prisms which I told them about, they said they are there and they said to go back to eye doc who confirmed there are no prisms. You call and they don't return calls and actually was put on hold, then hung up on. Husbands aren't correct either in bifocals. He went in, they bent them really weird and said here that should work. Taking all back in to get all redone. We needed them for our trip and now we won't have them. Very disappointing... read more

When I went in on March 20th 2019 I was looking at frames . I had overheard someone telling the clerk to get his paperwork put away since it had personal info on it along with his social security #! I was thinking maybe I should leave if they are that careless. I stayed and did have my eye exam with the dr being on a monitor doing my exam and no eye drops to make my eyes tired like normal, that part I always hate so I was ok with that. I found my frames and paid for them. Now on April 16th I still don't have my glasses! I was told 2 weeks ago the lab had broke my frames and they only ones were in the store that had to be shipped to them. Then 1 week ago still not getting my glasses I called them and they said they had damaged the lens and had to do another lens. I was told then I should be getting the call at the end of last week or the beginning of this week. I called today and still no glasses!! I wish I had gone to America's best or vision works! They did give me $150 credit for the future but I won't be back to use that so that was useless! read more

I started a new job and realized that I needed new glasses to see the computer a little clearer. I only needed computer readers so I tried Stanton Optical, BIG MISTAKE. I went in for the 59.99 deal for 2 pairs since I only needed readers. I had the exam, the doctor did some adjustments and I was seeing pretty well with my current glasses but he adjusted for the computer and I was happy to see what he was showing me clearly. I went out to pick frames only to be told to get the deal, I had to pick certain frames of which I was only able to find about 5 pairs of woman's frames. I ended up paying almost $500, waiting 2 weeks to get my glasses and they were okay. I thought I needed an adjustment period. I called to schedule an appointment to figure out why after 30 days they still wernt clear or working. I made an appointment, which I had to change the next day never told the doctor wasnt even going to be in and they needed to change me an hour latter. I cant use my 400 glasses and at this point just want a refund I will go to America's best. Its not worth the 45 minuet travel for lousy customer service. read more

I am not sure about this place at all. This was my first eye experience for myself. My daughter has glasses. I called and explained I had some concerns about my eyes. In that conversation I was told the eye doc was only there on saturdays. I commented that I should really see the doc specifically so let's make the apt for Saturday. I was early by 6mins (so basically on time) I didn't get seen until 30mins after the scheduled time. I was there for 3 hours total. There was NO explanation to any of the tests as I was passed through like it was old hat stuff. I was given NO feedback on my test results as they went along. My husband and I both went. After the third test, it was my husband's turn. I was told I could go pick frames while he got his third test. Pick out frames what!??? I didn't even know yet that I had any problems or needed glasses. I wasn't asked about any vision issues along the way. I tried to start conversation about my sight and concerns that lead me to the visit. They were brushed over. The couple that gained feedback, I was told to see my PMC. Ummmm my PMC told me to see the eye doc! I was lead to pick out frames with no explanation of what my need was. All I knew was astigmatism in both eyes and that my eyes were even in their need. I have had blurred vision in my right lately so it felt odd to be told they were even in vision. I got some sort of other prescription as well but I am still unclear as to what it is, what it means, and why. It felt like a turnstile where I had no name, only money. I was just sale. I expected 2 glasses for close to the $69 or $99 advertised but it was almost $300. And that was BOGO. My daughter went to America's best previously and I had none of these issues. Explanation for every test BEFORE AND AFTER each test was give to her ..... so this is what I expected for myself. I have still never seen the doc. No fitting performed or explained. I feel like cattle here and like staff has no basis of knowledge to treat. Now as I read reviews I realize prices are negotiable if you complain. Wow! I feel taken advantage of. I am not one to go to any doc. It took years to work up to this appointment and I got used. All of my expendable income for the month went to them. I should have gone with the place I took my daughter but I was trying to keep it local in the new shop in town. It's been a week with the glasses and my left eye is blurry with them on. My right eye is clearer most of the time. My husband ended up needing to see the eye doc before he got his prescription filled. We had been there 3 hours and it was going to be another wait with 4 in front of us. What was the point of the appointment or the explanations on the phone. We had to reschedule for the following Saturday since the doc is only in one day a week and we had already spent half our weekend day there. So disappointed. I felt good about doing this for myself and my husband. Now I feel like a fool. 7/31/18 update: I spent another 3 hours here getting a good prescription. I have been back twice for my new prescription sunglasses. They were made wrong both times. The promise by date both times was never met. Stop! Run the other way. False advertising I asked if eye exams were done by Dr. and no they are not!!!!!!!!!!! I have never been to eye doctor and I am 62 years old . I was made to believe I was going to receive a eye exam by a doctor to see if I needed glasses and I also wanted to have my eyes checked to make sure they were healthy. I was not informed that this would be done by a refractionist and a Dr. would sign off on it. Was told my glasses would be $666 said I couldn't do that and was sold some pair that was not my prescription but was a single lense and still was not able to be the $59,99 advertised and I couldn't do the progressive 2 for $99 advertised either actually these were not even mentioned. Inexperienced, fast talking sales people. Currently they advertised "2 complete pair of glasses for $59.00 including a free eye exam." ok great! simple enough right?... Wrong... I brought my son in, we waited and waited for the Optometrist, however there was only one other patient there who was finalizing her sale. My son (6 years old) had an "eye exam", while I was encouraged to stay in the waiting area. When finished, the lack of children's frame selection was disappointing, literally 2 pair. A black pair and a pink pair. So we chose the black frame nothing fancy, made of a flexible rubber like material (to prevent them from breaking easily). I was asked if I was billing insurance. I gave them my insurance card, and said I wanted the 2 for $59.00 deal, and asked if insurance covered it. She explained when using insurance it cannot be combined with any other offer. Fair enough. So I asked which would be the best price, with or without the insurance billed. She told me "It is always cheaper when you use your insurance." So I am thinking, that being said, if I used my insurance my copay would be less then the $59.00 cash price on the same deal ( 2 pair of glasses and and eye exam). Wrong.. I was told there is no insurance discount, but the 2nd pair of glasses I purchase would be 60% off. They did make the glasses right there , they same day. So while the technician made the glasses, I handed the other gal my debit card, at this point we had been waiting around and my 6 year old was getting antsy. we were ready to go. She ran the card, and out came the technician with the glasses. They put them on and they did not sit on his face correctly at all. So she took them back into the room to make adjustments. The other gal handed me my receipt and my insurance card it showed I was charged $170.00. So I asked about the 2nd pair of glasses with the 60% off. (Assuming this would be at a later date considering the only other frames they had were pink) I was then told, that 60% of the second pair of glasses is NOT in fact my next purchase of glasses it has to be in the same transaction. Nobody explained this to me before I handed over my debit card. So why was I told the price would be less if I billed insurance? What did I just pay $170.00 for? Why wouldn't we qualify for the running promotion of 2 complete pair of glasses for and exam $59.00. So if I had not used my insurance I would have paid $59.00 for 2 complete pair of glasses and exam, but because I did use my insurance (so I thought) I paid $170.00 for one pair of glasses. What am i missing here? Why on earth wouldn't I just pay the cash price of $59.00 and get 2 pair of glasses and a free eye exam as advertised and skip the insurance altogether? I wanted to share my experience at Stanton Optical. I booked my appointment 2 weeks ago for myself, husband and daughter, I received a wonderful reminder from Trisha and this started my experience. When we went Shiny and Jose were ready for my family, insurance information was laid out prior to ensure I was able to make made informed decisions regarding costs. The eye doc Kim was fantastic with our 7 year old! We were able to get all 3 seen quickly and throughly, and to my surprise we were all able to get our glasses same day! All in all a fantastic place to take your entire family! read more

I can't imagine how, other than perhaps the technicality that my husband is the customer and I wrote the review; although, the bad experience affected both of us. I'm writing a follow up because my husband received a call yesterday from the store manager who told him that "despite the one-star review, his replacement glasses were in." This is appalling! As well, she STILL has not verbally taken responsibility or apologized. We are done now, "despite" the extremely unprofessional handling of our situation, my husband has the glasses, and thanks to the technician, cut properly. I gave two stars, added one from my review that was removed, to give the technician credit. We will never use Stanton again. read more

The product is very nice, price is a bit misleading (no bargain) , but there is a much bigger problem it is DELAY and no communication from Stanton. When I order my $649. worth of glasses I was told they would arrive in ten days. ten days came and went, on day15 (a Monday) I called the Gresham store and was told they were on the way and would be in at the end of the week. End of the week came and went, I called again and got the same answer. On the 20th day I went into the store and was finally told that the head of the optical lab had up and left and the lab was in a mess and very backed up. I told Tricia, if she had just been honest with me I would have understood. When I left, again I was assured the glasses would be in within a couple of days. If I hadn't already paid for the glasses I would of canceled the order. Another week went by and finally a few days short of a month, when I called them again (they have never called me), the order had arrived. Note, I had to call them. As a thank you for the long delay,Tricia offered me a free pair of signal vision sunglasses and they would be made in house. They would be ready in ten days. When I came in on day 11 I was told the sunglasses had been sent out for polarizing and would be back in about a week.You guessed it, and yes, the beat goes on! the very same thing has now happened to the sun glass 4 weeks later and again I had call them, and found out again that the lab is backlogged. Why couldn't Stanton call and advised me of the delay, I would have understood. instead I am now "a not so happy customer" and can not recommend Stanton. I bet I never see my sunglasses. I decided to try Stanton Optical because it is close to my work and convenient. I made an appointment online and showed up at the designated time. I understand the place is new, but it felt disorganized and the tech seemed really green. The free eye exam only applies if you buy glasses the same day (no time to compare costs which they encourage). The cost of the glasses was ridiculous, almost $800 for 2 pair (buy one get one free I might add). The woman who was assisting me asked me what my budget was and started taking fees off to get the price down. She whittled it down and then said she would go ask her manager if he could bring it down more (they use different colored pens so you can see there was a reduction by the manager). All of a sudden I felt like I was at a car lot, negotiating a price!! Felt silly and ridiculous, just have a price for the glasses, it's glasses, seems pretty straightforward. I was then told it would take 10 to 15 days to get the glasses, REALLY, I haven't waited that long since the 80's for glasses. I was never notified that my glasses were in, I called after 2 weeks. When I asked when they arrived, I was told they couldn't tell when they came in (do you check in your inventory?) When I let them know I hadn't received the promised text, they reported having problems with the system. I went in 3 days later to pick them up and let them know I never received notification and was simply told "you should have" (but, I didn't...). Very little effort to make sure they fit properly and the prescription felt right (they don't fit right and I will go elsewhere to have them adjusted). Very disappointed with my experience here from beginning to end. I will not go back and will stick with Costco (they are professional, no hidden costs and make a strong effort to make sure you are satisfied with the glasses). I wish I wouldn't have traded quality for convenience. Think twice before going here. If you have a place you are happy with, stick with it! read more

Don't go here! First there advertised specials are a joke. I was quoted $130 for my glasses and it cost me over$220. No choices were gone over with me at all. They didn't even measure my pupils. I picked up my glasses and no one tried them on with me or even asked if I needed them adjusted. Something was wrong with the prescription. I took them back and they entered my prescription wrong and tried to make me feel like I didn't know what I was talking about. First of all, I went into Stanton Optical because I was under the impression that they would be done the same day. I did my eye exam with a woman on a monitor. I chose my frames .Then she added up the cost, she had added several things I hadn't requested. I got her to lessen it down to a half way decent price. By the way, the $59 is a bunch of garbage. You likely won't pay that after they add all of the things they think you need. Then she told me it would be at least a week before I would get the glasses. I only went there was because I thought I would get them quicker. I told the woman that I couldn't wait that long and had to have glasses. Then the woman told me she could see what she could do. After coming back, she said she had good news. They had one of the lenses already. I was under the impression that everone's eyes were different and don't know how they could have my lens in stock. By then, I was tired of it and wanted to leave. The woman said if I wasn't going to buy glasses I would have to pay the $45 for the exam. That would have been fine except for the fact that I was lured in to them only to find out I would have to wait a week or two. She then changed it and said oh we can probably have them in 3 or 4 days. When I decided to buy them else where she insisted that I owed them money even though they didn't do as promised. The manager agreed with this and if I didn't pay I was a theif. I attemted to talk to customer service but they had difficulty communicating because of not speaking the english language well. This place is not good. First of all all the ladies and staff here are very nice but I don't know what it is about this place because everything else was a bad experience. First off, I bought both contacts and glasses from here. The lady helping me told me she would personally call and tell me when they were done.. which she didn't do. Then, when I called to hear that they had been done for a while I came to pick them up and the glasses were TOTALLY off. Since I was going on a vacation I had to wait another whole week for them to and when I came back the glasses were STILL off. On top of this my contacts had a perfect fit and feel BUT I went through a WHOLE MONTH of contact lenses in only one of my eyes because the contacts kept getting random tears after 1 use. (And I was being gentle with them) LASTLY, I kept getting calls for the past 2 weeks from Florida telling me the glasses I had picked up 2 weeks ago are ready for me... turns out no one who worked there took me off the notification list. Terrible experience but good people. Not worth all the money I spent there /: probably will go somewhere else. read more

I walked in to get a pair of glasses for my daughter. I already had a prescription from her eye doctor so I asked if they bill insurance and I was told yes they do. Tricia asked for my insurance card and walked it to the back room to verify our benefits. While she was doing that wer started picking out frames. The "$59" frames are plastic and ugly and there are all of 10 pair to choose from. They boast over 2000 frames to choose from and that's pretty accurate if you are willing to pay a lot for them. Tricia came back and quoted the wrong benefits so I called customer service for Blue Cross and the insurance rep talked to her and told her what our correct benefits were. Tricia refused to accept the correct benefits because she said company policy is to verify through eyemed and that's what they use for billing. Blue Cross had no contracts with eyemed and explained that they cannot certify benefits and eyemed was wrong anyway. Tricia tried explaining it was a sister program to blue cross to which the representative told her explicitly no it was not and could not be trusted. The blue cross rep told me to walk out and not use this company. After I hung up, Tricia told me I would owe about $300 (based on other reviews this seems to be their universal fee) so they could make the glasses. Our benefit is 100% coverage so we took the Blue Cross advice and walked out. I believe this is a company that provides a service for those without insurance however, their bait and switch tactics are dangerous to those on a limited budget so I would advise anyone thinking of going to this store to go somewhere else if you are using insurance and if not be very diligent about what they try to sell you because they use tactics like used car salesmen. read more

This location opened fairly recently in Gresham. I had purchased glasses from a Stanton in Sacramento, California, about 4 years ago. Stanton is expanding so they must be doing something right. My glasses got bent and I stopped in to see if they could straighten them for me. They were happy to take them and realign the frames on the spot, no charge. My representative was friendly and responsive. Stanton is not a small independent shop but offers full service and a large selection. I expect most people upgrade from their least expensive offers but I have no problem with that. They are more personally attentive than Walmart or Costco. Now I know they are happy to provide ongoing service as needed. Give them a try! read more

hi there to all do not go to this place. they are a bate and switch operation. we went there today and ended up giving them $150. and got nothing. the frames were like the dollar store ones may last a few days. i wish i would have read all these feedbacks before i went there with my daughter. it seems like they do this on a regular basis offer one thing and you do not get the item. two people before me were very dissapointed, their glasses were not there as promised. it seems like the person that was to do the exam was about 12 years old. stay away, tell others stay away. they are crooks, wish i had used my credit card then i could file a dispute ! ! ! my daughter is mentally handicapped and they could see this. I had my appointment on August 13. Took about 3 weeks to get first glasses. The Rx was off. It turned out to be the left eye. Someone entered a plus instead of a minus. I couldn't read a thing. 2nd try was so far off. It was discovered that half the settings in the Rx of the left eye weren't even programmed or engraved into the lenses. Everything looked like it was part a a Salvador Dali painting. 3rd try at lenses, still seeing slanted objects but not as bad. It was explained to me that it was just the stronger Rx and that I needed time to adjust. They claimed that the lenses were FINALLY made to prescription. I can still tell that the right eye is not corrected properly because I know what it looks like when my astigmatism is not corrected. I have NEVER IN 40 YEARS had this much trouble getting eyeglasses. I am SO livid at the laziness and lack of accountability at this place! They just keep blaming the lab when they NEVER bothered to check the labs work. If they had any quality control, it could have saved me 2 months or more of hassle. It is now October 24 and I have to into that place AGAIN and try to tell them it is still not right. Every time I have been treated like i am an idiot. At no time whatsoever has anyone offered any compensation for my inconvenience. I am so tired of a this. read more
