Absolutely everything was fantastic! I read the reviews before I came in, which were not very favorable here on yelp, but seeing that some of them were almost a year old or OVER a year old, I decided to try this place. I am SO glad I did! I am so VERY pleased with the service and care I received. Definitely unlike any other place I've been to in the past to get my glasses. Store associate's were friendly, greeted me right when I walked in. They were so helpful, listening patiently to exactly what I needed in helping me find the right balance of fit and price that suited my prescription lenses. My order was communicated to me perfectly, and pretty speedy wait time to receive prescription glasses. Exactly 2 weeks as stated, which was not long at all, considering the quality of product and service I received from start to finish. Best fitting for glasses I've ever had too! They make sure you feel confident and comfortable with your new glasses before you leave. This was not a long and drawn on experience either. They get you in and out in just the right amount of time, feeling assured you made the right choices. I did not know this kind of service existed, getting new glasses was always something I did not look forward to doing, given the places I went were such unpleasant experiences. I was usually rushed through exams and always ended up spending way over my budget for extremely ill fitted glasses. Overall, this was just a wonderful experience! I thought this was a nice place, unfortunately my insurance wasn't accepted there so I paid out of pocket (No biggie). The two ladies there were super sweet and nice! They made me feel welcomed and didn't rush me. I never wore glasses before and didn't know what I was doing but they took the time and explained everything to me. I placed my order for my glasses on 03/01 and expected to get them on 03/15 but got them on 03/07!! That was quick and good timing! This is a different experience as the technician was not actually on site or in the room with you. You're basically on a zoom call with them and they electronically control the room remotely. When you go to pick up your glasses, they hand them to you. You try them on she says looks good and you're done. They don't do anything to adjust them or look at the fit, which will not bring me back here in the future. I have kind of a small face and I usually need some sort of adjustment which I'm going to have to apparently manage on my own. I do like the selection that I chose. People are fairly nice inside, but the process doesn't work for me. read more

Very happy with Stanton Optical. My prescription was done with a remote optician, but my eye health exam was done in-person and my prescription feels great. Selection was rather good, a nice variety of prices. I usually go for conventional frames but I got something a bit more striking this time and I'm happy with them. I really enjoyed my visit. I see other reviews about the impersonal outsourcing of the actual doctor and I agree it seems like a glaring matter of cost cutting and is a bit odd to me, but also, what do you really expect from a 2 for 80$ deal? I think which glasses qualify for the deal could also be better explained. I ended up paying much more for 1 nicer pair, but I'm fine with that bc it's still cheaper than what I would've paid even when I had visual insurance!! I am very anxious when I go for eye exams but the technician was really down to earth and funny. Also they didn't have to dilate my eyes which was great but used something else involving a light. Their glasses selection wasn't bad. It's obviously not super high-end, but again, it's not really supposed to be. I will likely come back and have my old frames get new lenses at some point too. They charge a 25$ fee for bringing your own frames but that isn't so bad. The manager was FUNNY AS HELL and explained a lot of things to me that my old office didn't, especially regarding transition lenses etc. I never felt rushed, it was clean and chill, and honestly way better than I expected it to be. I really appreciate the people who work there, even if the telehealth doctor is a little weird (and I didn't mind insanely because every in person eye doctor I've had was an asshole!), but it did make me wonder what happens if someone has eye questions or needs...it would've been very hard to communicate with him and I couldn't always understand him and it definitely seemed like outsourcing. All in all the store itself was GREAT. The staff at this store cannot change or control the company's way of doing things and ultimately they were so fun and human and cool that it made up for the other stuff. I will definitely go back in the future, I felt that they were transparent with prices and weren't trying to rip me off or be shady and actually seemed like they wanted me to get the best bang for the buck, which is certainly rare these days. read more

I buy all my glasses at this specific location because they have really good customer service. I drive all the way from Vancouver Washington because I actually get treated like a human being at this store. I've been coming here a few years and the people always remember me and they help take the misery out of glasses shopping. As an added bonus, they always work with me to get something stylish but also affordable. Not to sound preachy, but glasses shouldn't be a luxury item when people literally need them to see. The empathy and compassion I've been shown at this store is something I'm hella grateful for. I had some glasses made elsewhere that had the wrong base curve and I had no idea how to describe it other than "I can't see when I wear these glasses"...... the original place that I got them at ended up getting pissed off at me and accusing me of lying and didn't help me at all. Then I randomly ended up at this Stanton optical and they were committed to figuring it out until I could actually see out of my new glasses. ((Turns out I've got special eyes that are abnormally flat, and I never would have known that if the people here didn't figure that out and tell me.)) I brought my handicapped husband ( who had lost his glasses on vacation) into Stanton's for a quick exam and replacement Pair. We went in on the 1st of April and didn't get his glasses till the 30th. Im Not really sure how they keep in business, promising same day, free exam, and 2 pairs for 79. I expected an extra cost for the " progressive " lenses, but wait time is crazy. The nice, personal, service of a technician onsite is not to be found here, and, though it really isn't necessary, it's an indicator of why Stanton is so cheap, as well as open on Sundays: outsourcing technicians to the east (India?, Pakistan?). I don't know what the full cost of the exam and glasses cost - I know my co-pay was $249, as well as a 2 week wait for the glasses. It seems that there are only 2 people employed onsite; a receptionist who preps you for the remote exam, and a sales person who orders the glasses. Very impersonal, and a bit unnerving. And, the glasses frames that I ordered are about the same quality as the frames that I get with my $10 pair of reading glasses that I bought at the local supermarket, except that they cost me $140 at Stanton. read more

Worst service ever!! I had an appointment at 9:15 and just today at 9:08 get a confirmation email. The doctor arrives at 9:30 for her 9:15 appointment not even an apology, the staff working there seems to not know what they are doing. The receptionist gave me the impression she did not know about my appointment. When I get done with my visit the receptionist was walking all over the place not knowing where she was going, she knew I had to be at work at 10:30 cause I mentioned this when I notice the eye doctor was late. I waited and waited to pay for a visit which was a follow up visit. After waiting for the receptionist to charged me which she took forever just typing stuff on the computer I decided to just leave the money on the counter, she thanked and said have a good day, never apologizing for her tardiness nor for her incompetency. The doctor didn't seem very knowledgeable to me, last week I had a allergic reaction to my contacts, after a week using the prescribed eye drops, my eye seems worst, so this time she says "it looks like bacterial" so it looks but she is not sure!! I think I need to see someone more experienced!! read more

We were looking to get our glasses. Walked into the store, there was one other customer there and two gals working. I handed my insurance info to the one not busy and was told she couldn't do anything to help me, I would have to wait for the other girl. We looked around for about 15 min until the other girl was done. She immediately began doing something else so I asked her if she would take care of me and she said right away. During our brief conversation another couple came in and both girls immediately went to help them leaving my stuff on the counter. A third girl came back from lunch and they told her to go get what they needed to check insurance. She came back in with a form that I now needed to fill out just for them to call my insurance company. I asked why I wasn't given the form when I first came in and they all just looked at me. No answer. They were too involved with the other customer talking about the traffic issues in town. I asked for my cards back and told them thanks for nothing and left. It was so rude to be ignored and treated like we didn't matter. I will never return and will not recommend this place to anyone. Your staff needs training or another job where they don't work with the public. We went to a smaller shop that was busy and was greeted when we walked in and taken care of immediately. My experience with Stanton would not encourage me to go there again. There was a great deal of waiting and less than friendly service. I did not find frames that I liked after my exam, so I asked for a print out of my prescription. One of the numbers was completely incorrect (I'm guessing a typo?), so when I sent off for glasses from an online company, they were far from what I needed. Disappointing. read more

Said would have my glasses in 7 to 10 business days. 19 days later I finally called and they were in sun glasses weren't sunglasses eye glasses were blurry. The eye exam was with a "eye dr" on a tv screen who was in Florida. Re did exam off a little. Two weeks later finally got after several calls to corporate. My eye exam was done with someone on a computer monitor in I think another country or at least another part of the US. Definitely the most uncomfortable and impersonable eye exam I have ever had. This takes cutting costs to a new low. Maybe it's me, maybe it's the direction of the industry. I should have read the awful reviews before coming here, I feel incredibly stupid for not taking the extra five minutes to look. I just can't in good conscience take a chance here. No name brand frames is a huge red flag and the quality of the frames I did look at was really poor. I can't imagine any of them surviving more than 3-6 months of gentle wear. I am really upset that my insurance works with such a dreadfully reviewed establishment. Just can't take the chance, these are my eyes and the safety of others on the road when I'm driving. I will pay for another exam somewhere else as well. Also forgot to mention the staff members at the establishment told me they were unable to email me my prescription in PDF format which is another HUGE red flag for me. I will never come back to this place and I hope it goes out of business. It's really unfortunate that getting glasses feels more like a fast food transaction than an appointment or transaction with a health care provider. These types of places need to go by the wayside. UPDATE: Went to Costco and purchased two sets of Name brand frames and lenses with every upgrade for less than one pair of generic foreign made garbage frames from Stanton would have cost me before adding lenses. THANK GOODNESS FOR CREDIT CARD DISPUTES!!!! If not, I would be out almost $500 for glasses that worsen my vision as opposed to correct it. Instead, my bank chose in my favor after Stanton's only reason for not refunding my money was I was "still in possession of the glasses." I added where they neglected to that I did in fact still have the glasses....AFTER TRYING TO RETURN THEM TWICE WITH THEM REFUSING BOTH TIMES. Customer service is slow and if you tell them you're there to return a purchase, you'll be waiting another half-hour as they help people coming in after you. Horrible experience but thanks to charging it on my credit card, now have my money back and can order my glasses at America's Best where I've liked so far the knowledgeable and competent employees. read more

I have never seen such a racket..... First he told me he could not read the prescription I had been given my my ophthalmologist....then he told me my insurance would only pay $150 and my balance would be several hundred dollars. I said I could not do that and he said my BEST option would to be have the eye exam with him and not run it thru my insurance then I would only pay $385 for a pair of glasses. I said I could not do that and he asked what I wanted, I said I have insurance and I want them to pay....he said GOOD LUCK, I LEFT. I then went back to the ophthalmologist who wrote the prescription and got all the bells and whistles on a pair of glasses for less than $60, my insurance is paying almost $800. I brought my son here for the 2 pair of glasses for $60 and free eye exam, well didn't turn out that way. They make you prepay for exam and them explain how they will deduct it from the price of the "package" okay well, his eyesight is so bad they can't make his glasses for the special price apparently. Not sure why as I have a similar prescription and my glasses cost no more than his should. We ended going with a contact/eye glass combo for like $500!!! My mother paid because didn't have the money(neither does she though). I should have just walked out, I knew it. Well live and learn. His contacts cost $155 at most for 4 boxes online with no rebates. Next year I will just go see our regular optometrist and pay the office visit-way better value that way. Total rip off. If I could rate fewer than one star I would. Please don't waste your time or money going to this place for glasses. They claim you get two pairs of glasses for $59.99 plus a free eye exam. It's a hoax, don't believe it! It just says that to get you in the door! Once inside they immediately go to work doing nothing but up selling. For myself what was supposed to be $59 quickly escalated to $500! I was using health savings account funds that were wiped out with this one purchase because of an old game of bait and switch. Lastly, they are way under staffed. I went in for some simple adjustments to my glasses and waited 40 minutes before an associate could assist me. This place is a scam. They get you in the door by advertising 2 glasses for $59.99 but they only have a handful of those to pick from and they're ugly frames. They do have buy 1 get 1 free frames and we chose to do that instead but then when it came time to pay they doubled the price somehow. I am really not sure where to even begin with why this place is horrid! Called and book an appointment (specifically asked if they take our insurance and he told me absolutely) Went to appointment 15 mins early Nurse proceeded to tell me the prices and I informed her that we are fully covered by our insurance which I had just called my insurance 20 mins prior to walking in and verified all our coverage. This is when everything went down hill She looked at me and said "oh you have insurance" Well yes isn't that a good thing I said She had me fill out a form and told me she had to verify all my insurance before I could go back. And I told her "absolutely I completely understand" She picked her phone up and before she dialed the phone number she says to me "man I hate insurance companies before you know no one will take them" So sorry to inconvenience you ma'am was my first thought! She proceed to not dial the phone and got up and went in the back where I could not see or hear her. Exactly two minutes later she came back to me telling me our insurance doesn't accept them (which remind you I had just called insurance and verified everything) She told me that I would have to pay in full and they will give me a receipt to send to my insurance. I told her that just the day prior the person from her company whom I booked my appointment with specifically stated they took my insurance! She then told me that all the customer service reps are trained say that! I was completely blown away!!!! I then proceeded to get up and tell her I WILL NOT be having my eyes checked here and I want the piece of paper with all my information back! I am not blaming her for the lack of training this company gives their customer service reps that is the fault of the company. But I am blaming her for her poor attitude when I stated I had insurance. Her comments were not needed. It makes me completely sad that our health Industry can not be trusted! Before I get started...I want to notate that I completely understand that we are ALL going through CoVid19. However, I work in the medical industry and this by far was my worst experience thus far since the Pandemic. I want to start by saying I had an 11:00 am appointment and was the last person out two hours later, absolutely ridiculous. The Staff did not use any sanitary gel, wipes or otherwise the entire time I was there. I was given a box to put all the glasses I touched into, so they could be "sanitized" later. However, you could clearly see customers trying on glasses and putting them back on the rack and some glasses I looked at had fingerprints all over them. No "social distancing" was even being done because Stanton Optical allowed "walk-in" customers which at one point had at least 15 or more people in the small eye-glass area. I was so mortified by what I had experienced here last week that I almost left (and should have) for my own safety and even had a panic attack on my way home. This entire visit could have gone much smoother had they "not allowed" walk-ins and had one-on-one customer care (from start to finish) and since I did have an appointment. I know there is a State Wide Mandate by our Senator but if we don't follow just simple guidelines...WE'LL NEVER GET BACK TO ANY KIND OF NORMALCY! Shame on you Stanton Optical for not taking my safety and the safety of others seriously, including your own. read more

I was able to make an appointment fairly quickly. They had a special 2 pair for $99. I paid up front for my exam, and I understood that the cost would be applied to the cost of the glasses. I selected two frames to fulfill the special offer. The young woman that assisted me was very helpful, friendly and easy to work with. However, she figured my cost and it was over $400! Apparently the 2/$99 special only covers a very low prescription, and my required prescription for correction was over that threshold. I told her that I was not prepared to pay that; I was expecting to pay 2/$99. The manager was summoned; I told her if that was the price for two pair than I only wanted to purchase one pair. That was not the direction they wanted to go; they asked me if $350 was comfortable for both pair. I said no, not when I was expecting $99. We negotiated it down to $275, still quite a bit more than the original $99. In two weeks, I started to get automated calls letting me know the glasses were ready. Upon picking them up, there was no fitting conducted; the employee just smiled and assured me that they would fit just fine based on the measurements taken. In retrospect, I should have went to Costco. For $275 I would have gotten one pair ( which is all I really need) and would have gotten a fitting by a professional. And, the automated notifications continued for almost two full weeks after I picked my order up, despite even a call by me asking to please stop calling me! Crazy. Will not do business there again unfortunately. I likened it to a car sale at a high pressure dealer. read more

Went to Stanton because it was on my way home, service was friendly but had the sense of negotiating the price (that started pretty high). I purchased 2 pair and was told they would be ready 7-10 days...after hearing nothing for 2 weeks I called and they said one was ready and would be mailed to me and the other had to be re-done due to a lense fitting problem in the lab. After receiving nothing in the mail for 1 1/2 weeks I went into the store and my one pair were ready but they had a hard time finding it...the other pair they said was just sent back to be re-done and would arrive in a few days. It's now almost 2 weeks and they finally got the second pair done, said it's being shipped to me...ordered on July 10 and hopefully it will arrive by Aug 28... read more
