Just beware with your prescription read it like a hawk don't expect anyone at Stanton or the optometrist either to advise you if there are any notes the optometrist found that you need to have checked. After I left with my daughter we read later that evening the optometrist noted that my daughter should see an opthomologist immediately due to her findings but if we wouldn't have taken a second look at the prescription we Would have never known once we told them we just needed the prescription and did not need to shop for frames the lady just walked away from us and I had to find someone to give me the Prescription. Never will go there again!! read more

Worst customer service ever. All we needed was a replacement set of frames that were supposedly on order already. Our appointment was on Saturday and we were told they'd be ready by Wednesday. They weren't. On Thursday, they said they would be ready for sure by Friday. They weren't. On Friday, they said that they were working on them and they would be ready by 10am today (Saturday). Just called to make sure before driving down there and were told that they wouldn't be ready until August 22nd. How do they stay open and keep customers??! Horrible. Update: Still no glasses and they continue to lie and make promises they don't keep. They are messing with peoples' vision and safety and they don't even care. read more

I got two pairs of glasses from this location. After a week I realized that they wouldn't work because they were really uncomfortable, so I took them back to either get different pairs/refund/adjustment. I explained my issue, and the manager said that I wasn't making any sense. After trying to explain the issue over and over (which was that the glasses caused a lot of pressure on my nose and just hurt throughout the day) , the manager finally said she'd issue me a refund because she had no idea what I was trying to say. She took the glasses and told me that I would receive the refund to my card within 30 days. 30 days came and passed, and I checked in with Stanton Optical on the phone. I was told I'd received the refund in cash the day I gave the glasses back. So, I paid $280 for absolutely nothing. I checked back in with the company a few times to try to explain that I'd never received any kind of refund, but was told that there wasn't much anyone could do. Just go somewhere else. That's my advice. read more

The replacement lenses here are way more expensive than other places around town. Plus they promised my glasses to be ready in 2 days which turned into 2 weeks which turned into we can't do them now. Waste of time. Also the lenses that i got for another pair of glasses were horrible, they would stay smudgy and even when I cleaned them they would never get to clear. read more

Went for an eye exam today. No Covid Pre-Screening was done. No temperature check. Mask required signs were up. Had the eye exam but was not real confident that it was very thorough. Waited for the prescription and looked for glasses in the lobby area. Another customer was being helped and experienced a pretty long coughing spell during which removed her mask, turned her head away from staff and coughed, open mouth in my direction! No mask, no hand over her mouth, no barrier other than my mask! I happened to be just about 6 feet from her and I felt very uncomfortable! I left and have tried calling twice to speak with someone but was left on hold more than 10 minutes for each call. Weird, scary time we live in! I hate it! Glasses will have to wait! read more

I wish I had read the reviews before coming here. For one the optomitrist is not even there, the eye exam is done over a webcam. I paid over 200$ for glasses with a frame that cracked and broke in under a few months. The "high index lenses" I paid extra for do not even seem like real high index lenses and they are easily scratched. I did not even recieve a call or notification when my replacement frame had arrived. Absolutely overpriced and poor customer service. read more

I just picked up 2 pairs of glasses and I'm super happy with the service I received and the glasses themselves. I was waited on promptly both in person and then with a telemed optician. Found a great pair of glasses for a great price. Staff was friendly and helpful. Will definitely go back again.

Had to take a 2 pair of glasses back, one due to a small crack in the glass and another due to them becoming too loose overtime. I was help immediately upon arriving and had a great experience. They offer a two year warranty. Come to find out I only had to pay a small percentage for a replacement glass which came to $30, much cheaper then I thought. They also helped me refit the pair of glasses I brought in that were uncomfortable to ware. As for the glasses that need a new frame, I should have them in 2 weeks or less. Super happy I decided to see what could be done to fix my issues with glasses purchased almost a year ago :) read more

This office is not good. You see the deals but they definitely try to upgrade you or you're only given options for a few crappy pairs of glasses. I found some real inexpensive frames but I was told the lenses would be hundreds. Now, we came in here to repair a pair of framed we got from Stanton that broke after 3 months. They said it would cost $19 because the warranty is over. The actual screw area fell off . They said they would have to order it. We left and went to Stanton on Blackstone and they fixed it there for $3. If you have to go to Stanton, go to the Blackstone one NOT HERE! read more

I really wanted to give Stanton Optical a better grade, it all started so well. I booked an eye exam and walked in less than 40 minutes later, I was greeted pleasantly and lead into the back to fill out some paperwork as I was a new customer. This was completed quickly and the eye exam was carried out. I needed glasses! No shock I/m nearly 50 and hadn't had an eye exam in over 30 years. They waited patiently while I picked out frames and we ordered my glasses. All the ladies I dealt with up to this point were awesome, pleasant, knowledgeable and able to answer my numerous questions. Great news, my lenses were in stock and my glasses would be later that day or the next day (Sunday), I would be called when they were ready. By Monday morning I still hadn't received a call so I called the call center, they couldn't find my order, I waited while they hunted for me and was told they should be ready. I went in and my order was indeed ready. Would I like to take advantage of a special offer and get prescription sunglasses? Why not? I'm in luck again and the lenses are in stock, they would be ready the next day, Tuesday. I go on Tuesday evening and they aren't ready, the tech hasn't even touched them. Call I will be called tomorrow (Tuesday). Tuesday passes and no call, Wednesday no call, Thursday morning Joy of Joys, I get an automated call telling me they are now ready. I drive across town on my lunch and am told, not ready (in fact the packet is exactly where it was Tuesday so the tech hasn't even touched them in two days. "Come back this evening". I Call as I leave work, don't get through to the branch and the call center is useless. I take a chance and go in and they are indeed finally ready, but covered in fingerprints as the wonder tech has obviously not cleaned them after assembling them. So I had to make two wasted trips after being told they were ready, add to this when spending $400 I would expect my glasses to come in a case, not a crappy bag. They are out of stock of the hard cases I am told. Try back next week, they might have some. All in all, the ladies that do the exams and run the counter are awesome, the lens tech can't manage his time or the computer system. If I need an eye exam I highly recommend them, if I need glasses I'd take my prescription to somewhere more competent. read more

I've had glasses since I was 6 years old, so I would say I've had my fair share of eye appointments and been to a fair few offices. Without a doubt, the best experience I've had since moving to Fresno. Literally the best. I can't recommend them enough, they were so patient with me repeatedly jamming myself in the eye trying to figure out contact lenses, really genuine and friendly and worked so quickly. They even helped me reshape some glasses I had gotten online so they fit me better. Well priced, and even if it was overpriced I'd still say it was worth it. I'm bad with names so if I screw this up I'm so sorry but April, Mario, and a woman whose name I missed but I'm going to nickname the Glasses Magician for how easily she reshaped my lenses, y'all are the best, thank you. read more

Exceptional customer service. Set up an appointment in less than 2 min which was great. When I arrived for my appointment was helped almost immediately after arriving. Mitzi, April, and Jason were amazing. Their positive attitude and bubbly personalities were comforting. As this was my first ever eye exam that I've had they were very informative, and easy to talk to. I was also fitted for contact lenses and they were helpful on how to apply them to the eye safely and easily. Definitely a great choice in optical establishments. My go to store hands down. Thank you Mitzi, April, and Jason you guys were awesome. Also leaving same review on Google. read more

I had never been to Stanton Optical before but seeing as my glasses were over seven years old...I needed to go. Everyone was welcoming and helpful especially since I had an issue with my insurance. They talked me through what I should do concerning my issue. Anna was especially helpful and sweet. She was a joy to talk to and answered the questions that I had about my glasses, the prices, and extra questions about insurance. She broke down all the pricing for me for all the options and helped me to choose the best suited one for me. Thanks to Anna and the rest of the staff, I will be sure to come back. read more

Had a great experience at this location. Was able to book an appointment the same day. When I arrived Lizette attended me right away. A terrible experience. I went there to get an eye exam for me and my daughter. The customer service there is non existent. My daughter filled out the paperwork incorrectly and we told them that at least twice. We were there for an eye exam and frames but she marked contacts. Before they fit her for contacts we told them twice she wants an exam and frames. She told them she would get the contacts from her mom's vision insurance at another place. So what do they do? Fit her for contacts. So after my exam, I looked for frames and didn't see anything that I liked. I told the guy working there that and I would just like to get my prescription. He said well then you owe 45 dollars and I HIGHLY suggest that you get the 2 frames for 59 dollar deal. He said he got them and I should too. I told him no thanks and how are you going to charge me when my insurance pays for an exam? He said I haven't even checked yet for your insurance. I then told him then how do you know its 45 dollars then? He got agitated and said he would check. So he comes back with an attitude and just kinda throws my prescription at me and said you were right. Then when my daughter's paperwork was done he says you owe 60 dollars and had a stupid smile on his face like he just got one over on me. I told him that we aren't paying anything because she told you twice that she circled contacts in error on the form and would get them from her mom's insurance. The manager then comes and her employee totally disrespects her and doesn't listen to her at all. I wouldn't be surprised if he was related to her or her bf by the way she backed down to him. So I told him that just give us her prescription and we will go. He then says he will try to ruin my insurance so I couldn't use it again. I told him whatever just give us her paperwork. So they do and we are leaving. I told him on the way out that he shouldn't act like a tough guy to the customers because it makes them not want to buy anything from you. He says you do the same. I told him that I am the same guy inside their building as I am outside. He said to come back in 30 minutes when he's off work and he would take care of me! The most unprofessional office I've ever been to. I know they will respond to my review by saying to call them and make a statement. I've already done that and their supervisor was supposed to call back within a couple of days. It's been a month and I still haven't received the call. Avoid this place like the plague. read more

Against my better judgment I have gone 2 times. The last time will be my last. The first time I went they got my prescription completely wrong. I didn't do anything about it cause At the time I had new born and didnt have any extra time to go back. Spent money on glasses that gave me headaches. A year later I get an email saying they were offering a FREE exam... NO STRINGS ATTACHED. So I went. Took 40 minutes before I was seen. They asked me if I was there for glasses or contacts. I said both. They said for both it would be an extra charge of 99$ more then their standard exam price . I said forget it just check me for glasses. I get to the end and the sales rep tried to hold my prescription hostage since I wasn't going to buy anything from them. She said oh in order to get the credit for the exam I had to select a Glasses package. Since I was already late for work I said just put it on hold I'll come back. As I'm walking out I pull up the email and read all the fine print. I go back to her I said "ma'am this literally says no strings attached. Nothing says I have to make a purchase ". She then goes OH you came in on that. That was by invitation only. I didn't know you had that. Even though I told them when I checked in. She then proceeded to lay my prescription on the table just a few inches in front of herself. Doesn't even hand it to me. So I grab it and leave. The best part... both times they have tried to scam me by saying I needed progressive lenses. Meaning for reading also. I have NO PROBLEM WHATSOEVER with reading up close, only with distance. I have a feeling They do this since they know most people are going to buy from them and they can tack on an additional fee for something you don't need. I would not recommend this place to anyone. all about making the money on the back end with selling you overpriced glasses you can get for a 3rd of the cost online . read more

Seriously. Order for a pair of glasses and contacts placed earlier in January 7th. Was told that the glasses should be ready by the next day by one of the workers and contacts in about a week. Great, I thought. Super fast and I was in no rush to pick it up. Went to the store two days later to pick up my glasses and talked to one of the staff. Says that it's not ready yet as the lens are still in shipment. Was told that it should be ready by the following week along with contacts. Was also told that I should receive a call when the glasses are ready also. The week goes by. No calls. I call the number to check on my status of order. Says that there is no record of my order?! Get transferred to the store and speak to a staff again. It's still in shipment and the contacts aren't ready yet. No worries I thought since I did switch up the contacts to a different brand two ays after I placed my order. Staff member looks up info in the computer and for some reason their is a delay in the shipment of one the lens. Was told that the ETA should be the following week for the glasses. Fast forward one week. Check back and one of the glasses is ready but not the other one. Again no calls received. Was told it should be ready by the end of the Jan. Contacts are still out and not here yet. Call the number again. Was on hold for over 25 min. Forget it. I'll check back tomorrow when they're not busy. Call back and should be ready on Feb 2nd. Second pair of glasses arrived finally but gets broken. Staff asks for me to come in to file an order for the broken pair. Seriously. The whole process has been a headache. Staff is friendly but apparently I've been getting multiple mixed messages on when the glasses will be ready. Apparently no one knows what's going on and tells me different answers. Top it off they break my glasses when it finally arrives. Still no word on my contacts also. Gave Stanton a chance and never again. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. Seriously, last time ordering from them. See the other reviewer that posted also. Similar experience. read more

I had a terrible experience here at Stanton Optical. I was told the date on which my glasses will be ready for pick up. Well they made me wait another week passed the date I was originally suppose to pick up the glasses. Then when I went to pick up the glasses. The lady there broke one of the pair on accident of course but just think of how cheap the quality of the glasses are if she broke them so easy. After that I was told to wait another week for the order of the one pair she broke. Of course they were not ready when they said. So 2 weeks passed an I went to pick up the one pair she broke. To find out that she broke it again!!! Then was telling me that I was the one that broke it. Eventually she said it was her fault and she fix the one pair but the piece she broken off is still broken. What a terrible place to get glasses. Very poor quality and absolutely horrible service. read more

3 stars are for the customer service and fast service. I got my glasses less then in 10 days. I took away 2 stars because they had a promotion going on which was any frames (must have blue stickers) for $49... or the bogo deal. When I was done with my eye exam I picked out the eye glasses, they were $89 each. With the discount for the bogo it was just $89 for 2 pairs. Now not sure why I was charged for additional "add ons" because my bill came out to almost $300!! I was told that I could not remove those add ons due to my eye sight and having astigmatism. I think that's just some bull because I do not need "special lens". If I had known I was gonna be charge for these ridiculous times I would've never stepped foot in here. Even at my regular eye doctor's office, it would not have costed me more then $150 for an eye exam and 2 pair of glasses. Lesson learn and I will not recommend this place to anyone unless they're ok with paying for add ons that aren't needed. read more
