I really did enjoy my time at Stanton Optical. The staff were courteous, helpful and polite. My experience did have a bit of a wait longer than some, however everything went smooth. My only gripe is that I did not see any optical/eye physician at any moment of the exam. The eyewear selection is broad but not copious amounts of brands. They have some brand name selections at this location, like Gucci. I did find a pair of glasses I liked though, along with the lens of course. read more

I read blueprints and schematics for a living. I was told as long as the lenses aren't anything special tinted bifocals, etc. etc. as long as they're basic every day lenses to see out of them, I would get same-day service and my glasses that day. Well after I paid the bill, she said it would be two weeks. That's unacceptable and the last time I do business with them Their advertisements on TV need to change because you do not get your glasses the same day.... Update for the owner... After I checked in and they made me wait 30 minutes past my appointment time, they took me into the back and told me they couldn't help me. Absolutely ridiculous, unprofessional, unacceptable. Met with Mitzi during my first visit here after needing new glasses for 10ish years. She was super welcoming and VERY helpful. Had a very pleasant experience getting my eye exam and finding the exact frames I had my eye on. Was recommended to come here by a few friends and I do NOT regret it!! I was able to get 2 pairs of glasses for the price of one at the Eye Institute across from St. Agnes hospital. I will definitely be back! Very quick wait times for exams and such. read more

I had a really hard time finding glasses I liked here. They all felt so cheap. Nothing caught my eye. Tired of searching so I picked this black pair I didn't hate or like. Really hot and uncomfortable inside this business. I have progressive lenses and I can't walk wearing these. I feel dizzy. After 2 weeks one lens pops out. They fix it and 2 weeks later the glass in same exact the dam lens is cracked in 3 places, Very poor quality and disappointing. Highly not recommending. This place is no bueno. read more

This company is fairly awful. I took my daughter to get her glasses and they were a bit rude and kept walking off. My daughter's glasses had to be reordered because they scratched the lenses putting them in her frames. I decided to give the a second chance. I went and ordered my glasses. Customer service that round was improved and they even helped me fill out my paperwork since I'd just had hand surgery and wasn't writing well yet. Though the wrong phone number was used on my account. However, my glasses were due to arrive the end of January. We are now midway through February and I still have no glasses because they've been remade... twice. No one ever calls to update even when they say they would. I have to call or walk in for updates. And it appears that after screwing up my lenses twice the lab they're using in Texas isn't making it a priority to get them here. I have never had glasses scratched or messed up causing a delay like this from anywhere and now it's happened to both my daughter and I. read more

So I got a message to call Stanton eyes at a number after my bad review. What a joke. All they had to say was it is taking longer than expected and will be here Feb 10th. Honestly, I have given Stanton Optical Clovis a fair shot but will be taking my business elsewhere from now on. I go in once a year and they say the same thing when it comes to VSP (a very standard insurance) their system is down since yesterday and we can't look up your benefits. Literally every year they use the same line. I had an appointment and was in the store for almost 3 hours with one other customer coming in during that period. I waited for over an hour for their "Dr" to respond about my prescription and kept being told that he wasn't responding to messages and they didn't have a number to reach him at but "maybe next time go to the Blackstone location since they have a physical doctor in the office" I ended up leaving the store and telling them to call me once they had an an answer so I could order my contacts. 2 hours later I called and there was still no response finally 4 hours later I got a call and was still on the phone for 20 minutes with the girl trying to place a simple order. They didn't add my insurance at first even though they said they did and the price was not sounding right and I made her check again, what do you know, it wasn't with insurance. I also told the girl NO add ons for my glasses and she tried to sneak an $85 charge for "anti-glare" Thereis a very obvious reason that this store is constantly empty and I will not be going back or recommending them to anyone. The staff at this location are unprofessional. This has to be the worse customer service I've experienced. The girl who helped my husband & I her name is Anahi she was being flirtatious and of course we tried ignoring it. But the women was persistent and made us extremely uncomfortable. She asked for his number to look him & recently he changed his number so when telling her that she asked for his updated number and we gave her might as well just for to have accurate info in his account. Only I call him by his full name and said it in front of her several times so when we BOTH got a unknown call that same day being inappropriate asking for him we immediately knew it was the girl Anahi. I called & reported this whole situation to the Sales manager Misty who defended her instantly without letting me finish. She interrupted me quickly saying she knows her & is a good friend to her and her staff are very close as she said that they would never do that. I wish she would of validated my complaint and went through a proper procedure or even if she given me comforting words I wouldn't of had to post this but she didn't so with that being said I hope the manager and staff get trained on how to deal with a complaint & retrain the girl on how to handle herself around young men that she find attractive. It comes across as this was not her (Anahi) first time because she was so blunt and forward to being flirtatious. All the Sales Manager Misty Had to say is that they are very close to there employees & that her employee is saying she deeply promises it's not her or isn't her. I did not use Stanton optical as I went on the reviews and found that there is not a doctor in the office with you. FYI it done by virtual with a doctor. I chose to have a real doctor in the room with me but that's just for me and I was not informed of that at the time of the appointment over the phone for my first time appointment. Go to 20/20 optometry! much better service. There is a REASON this place has a LOW review rating. HORRIBLE service. If you make an appointment, expect to be finished after 2.5 HOURS. The associate will LIE, so make sure to record any conversations you have with them because once the manager finally comes out after 30 additional minutes, she'll deny anything she told you. The manager may fool you with her playing dress up as a manager, but she will not actually help you in any way. She will simply say her associate isn't a liar (why recording is important), call you the liar and try to continue wasting your time. They do not care about the customer, she will give no apologies for wasting any of your time and happily say bye as you leave. read more

I really should've read the reviews before I came here. if I would've known I was going to see a virtual doctor for my eye exam, I would've gone somewhere else. I went there because they said that they took my insurance. after my virtual exam, I decided on contact lenses and two pairs of glasses. I was quoted over $1000 with my insurance coverage. so, I told her that I just wanted my prescription and wanted to go somewhere else for my glasses. I was told that in order to get my prescription, would be charged $129.00 (cash price). I was told I was only allowed to use my insurance for the eye exam if I purchased something. this place is extremely overpriced and they will hold your prescription hostage unless you purchase something from them. The absolute worst experience ever. I work in healthcare and I would never treat my patients like that. so, if you want a virtual eye exam instead of seeing a real doctor & you want to be overcharged & pay out-of-pocket, even though you have insurance, this is the place for you!!!! read more

Just went in and they told me my insurance was a discount plan. I have eye med with Ameritas. It's clearly insurance and I was charged $69 for an eye exam. When I asked for a refund on the exam to get a $79 deal. I had to wait an unknown time to get a refund because Danielle was at the bank. I never got the refund and paid out of pocket $69 for what should have been a $35 eye exam that was covered by the insurance I provided them. They tried to upsale instead of help out genuinely. They could have let me know if they were a non provider instead they just said eye med is a discount plan. They tried to tally up a total of $538. Haha. I couldn't help but feel insulted. Do not go here and deal with Jizzelle, or who ever the girl in the white coat she was asking for help. They will only waste your time and try to take your money instead of truly helping and doing their job correctly. They were extremely unhelpful. Jizzelle will wait until your almost out to your car to offer you the deal that you came in for. She handed me my prescription which only should have been $35 and said you Can get that special if you want as I was outside walking to my car. Bad customer service because I was so confused by what was going on. I was sure she handed me everything when I said bye have a nice day. These people think they are the only gig in town. What is the point of scheduling an appointment if they don't even honor it? They take appointments and walk ins at the same rate. No priority. The staff is friendly however, non-educated when it comes to real life glasses wearers. They are just there to "sell" & "upsell" you even when you tell them you had a bad experience with a particular product they still try pushing it down your throat! Awful! Just beware with your prescription read it like a hawk don't expect anyone at Stanton or the optometrist either to advise you if there are any notes the optometrist found that you need to have checked. After I left with my daughter we read later that evening the optometrist noted that my daughter should see an opthomologist immediately due to her findings but if we wouldn't have taken a second look at the prescription we Would have never known once we told them we just needed the prescription and did not need to shop for frames the lady just walked away from us and I had to find someone to give me the Prescription. Never will go there again!! read more

I got two pairs of glasses from this location. After a week I realized that they wouldn't work because they were really uncomfortable, so I took them back to either get different pairs/refund/adjustment. I explained my issue, and the manager said that I wasn't making any sense. After trying to explain the issue over and over (which was that the glasses caused a lot of pressure on my nose and just hurt throughout the day) , the manager finally said she'd issue me a refund because she had no idea what I was trying to say. She took the glasses and told me that I would receive the refund to my card within 30 days. 30 days came and passed, and I checked in with Stanton Optical on the phone. I was told I'd received the refund in cash the day I gave the glasses back. So, I paid $280 for absolutely nothing. I checked back in with the company a few times to try to explain that I'd never received any kind of refund, but was told that there wasn't much anyone could do. Just go somewhere else. I had my last eye exam done here and was fitted for contacts in October 2021. I was told there would be about a 5-7 day wait for my contact trials to come in since they didn't have them in stock at the time, but it may be up to 2 weeks. After 11 weeks and multiple phone calls to check-in, they finally arrived. While this was inconvenient (since a contact prescription is only good for 12 months from date of exam) and I needed contacts for multiple events in the time I was waiting for them, I was understanding that COVID had created delays. However, it was never explained to me that I had to come in and get the contacts reviewed and finalized by the optometrist within 12 weeks from the date of the exam to be able "finalize" my prescription (which wouldn't have been possible since I had 2 trials to wear for 7 days each which would have put me a week over their deadline to come in for review since there was such a delay in receiving them at the store). Although there was such a big delay in my contacts coming in, which was not a fault of my own, there was no extension provided for my prescription date even though I lost nearly 3 months due to this delay and I had to call corporate to get a finalized prescription to be able to purchase contacts. Since I don't wear contacts regularly and was never informed I had to get them finalized within a certain time frame I went in to pick up my prescription to order contacts online last week and was only then informed of this deadline that had been missed then. I would have given zero stars since I paid for a service and wasn't able to utilize the prescription for months due to their delay, then when I needed to order contacts months later but within the 12 months from date of exam, I was told I couldn't use the prescription at all due to a policy I'd never been told about. However the employees are always friendly and I'm aware their policies are not in their control, and the manager did call me back and leave a voicemail saying they'd finalize the prescription after I explained the situation to customer service and filed a complaint. While the people are nice I would still not recommend Stanton for an eye exam or contact prescription due to this experience. Hopefully this is a learning experience for them and they can make exception to prescription expiration dates when there is such a long delay that will lose months of the prescription a customer is paying for without the customer having to jump through hoops. read more

Worst customer service ever. All we needed was a replacement set of frames that were supposedly on order already. Our appointment was on Saturday and we were told they'd be ready by Wednesday. They weren't. On Thursday, they said they would be ready for sure by Friday. They weren't. On Friday, they said that they were working on them and they would be ready by 10am today (Saturday). Just called to make sure before driving down there and were told that they wouldn't be ready until August 22nd. How do they stay open and keep customers??! Horrible.
