We were greeted immediately by Reno, who gave us time to look around without hovering. Reno was so patient and kind. He answered all my questions and took me over to see the different color of lenses available several times, each time with a smile and a "Lets look again, I want you to be sure." Amanda had on these fantastic glasses, I asked her if she sold those in store, she said she would check to see if she had any and if not she would order them if she could. She could!! She did not have any in stock so without hesitation she says, "You can try my glasses." She took her glasses off, popped out the lenses, cleaned and sanitized them and allowed me to try them on, I LOVED them. So I was measured (with Amandas frames) =) and put in my order for them. My husband was able to find a pair of sunglasses he really liked. Reno also gave him information on the smart glasses that he was eyeing. Stacy was very knowledgeable in explaining the awesome foundation Onesight - they provide free eye exams and eyeglasses to those most in need. My husband and I enjoyed our time @ Lens crafters -1600 Crossways Blvd. Thank you again Reno, Stacey and Amanda, we can not wait to get the texts that our glasses are ready!! See you soon!! We usually go to the Kempsville location but my wife scheduled an appointment at this location…read morebecause Dr. Lee is here on Saturdays and she wouldn't have to use sick time at work. We live in Virginia Beach though and the commute was HORRIBLE. We ended up getting to her appointment after the 10 minute grace period. I was frustrated and wanted to go home until I walked through the door and interacted with the staff, starting with Angela. The staff at Beach Eye Care were wonderful throughout this whole situation. I explained our situation to Angela and she listened emphatically and went back to see if she could squeeze my wife in. I wasn't expecting them to be able to do anything and they were so backed up that they couldn't take her but I'm so appreciative that she got out of her seat and even asked. I discussed with Myra and we decided that since we drove an hour and 25 miles to get out here we might as well ask about doing a walk in eye glass purchasing appointment. I didn't think they did walk ins but was pleasantly surprised when Vicki said we could. All we had to do was go schedule it at the front desk. After waiting a minute for someone to return to the front desk Vicki just came and took us back. Even though Myra couldn't do her eye appointment Vicki made our trek worth it and was able to help us both get straight with our glasses. Vicki has such an optimistic demeanor. She really made my wife feel beautiful and confident. She heard my needs and priorities as well and I got some prescription sunglasses for less than $200 out of pocket and they don't look bad at all. The sunglasses will be primarily used for driving since my transitions don't work in the car. I'm very pleased with this location and Beach Eye Care's exceptional customer service.

But Angela at the front desk was so nice and helpful. She still checked with my doctor to see if it was possible for me to be seen that day. While I couldn't be seen, I was on the schedule for another appointment later in the week and me and my husband inquired about glasses. Vicki helped us pick out and find the perfect glasses. She was so sweet and patient! It took me about an hour and a half to find the right frames...there were so many great options to choose from. She went above and beyond -- she showed me different transitions lens options, activated the transitions colors multiple times so that I could get a good sense of how dark the different color options get, pulled a bunch of styles from the back, and even popped the lenses off of a pair of display sunglasses that she thought would match the glasses frame style I liked. I went with the frames in my review picture and am super excited about them! Vicki also helped my husband find a great pair of sunglasses too! Angela got us checked out and gave us some bottled water for the road. Great experience and customer service!

I've never even been inside this business, but that's not for lack of trying…read more I moved here from San Diego 6 months ago, along with my children and pets, leaving my active duty husband behind to finish his TOD there. Rent for a family of 5 was costing us 50% of our income. A few months after we arrived I noticed that there was an eye care center next to my local Walmart, so I Googled "Walmart with eye care center near me" when I returned home. I wear glasses and contacts, and all 3 of my children wear glasses, and our insurance provides us with yearly exams. This center was indicated to be the closest. It took me at least 2 calls to get through to someone to make an appointment, and even at that point they were scheduling 4 months out, so I made appointments only for myself and my youngest child. I was told that I would receive paperwork to fill out ahead of time, but I never did, despite checking my spam email regularly. When I asked about their location they confirmed that they were "between the Sams and the Walmart". Today my son and I arrived for the appt. And, as instructed, I called to let them know we were there. The receptionist asked me to pick up the paperwork and fill it out in my car. I'm sure this is a covid related measure, but since I am vaccinated I did not see why it was necessary. Nevertheless, I proceeded to the door, but no answer came when I knocked, and the hours indicated that they were closed. Someone working at Sam's Club said I could ask at the eye care sales dept., and when I did they indicated that the optometrist only scheduled appointments on weekends. When I explained my situation she told me that the optometry office I was looking for was between ANOTHER Walmart and Sam's Club that was also in Chesapeake. At that point I recalled that I had never been given an address for the location. I could never have known or guessed that Chesapeake would have 2 different Walmarts and Sam's Clubs, located together, in 2 different locations, and both with an optometry center in between, having only lived here a few months. But since I spoke with the office staff several times, you'd think they would have mentioned it to a new patient looking to schedule appointments for 4 people. Nope. Maybe if they'd sent me the paperwork as promised that would have let me know, but they didn't do that either. I did call back and explain that I did not have the correct location, but I was informed that, because of the time I'd spent trying to determine the problem, I would need to reschedule. Nope. Taking my business elsewhere.

I was able to get an appt the same day and found the perfect pair of glasses. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and I was asked if I needed help by another lady as I was grazing through the glasses. I did notice, the staffers greeting customers by their first name upon entering and leaving the store. It made it feel like a neighborhood doctor office. I also notice there were personal conversations going on while customers where in the office that could be overheard, which seems a little unprofessional. The lady that checked me in was also the one who did my initial eye exam. She seemed to rush everything and didn't asking any questions about my visions or if I had any problems. I also felt rushed by the eye doctor as well. He was nice and seemed very knowledgeable. But it's something when you go to a doctor and you can feel that they "care" and here I didn't really get that. Maybe because of the location, they see a lot of in and out clients. But the store was clean and had nice options of brand glasses. Glasses were reasonable priced and you can take it home the same day.

When I walked in, I had no idea where to go and ended up standing there for 10 minutes before finally asking someone where to go for my appointment. The lady at the front desk just said to go to the back without any further assistance. Once I reached the back, everything felt rushed, including my interaction with the doctor, who seemed eager to finish quickly. This made me very uncomfortable. After my exam, the doctor left and I was instructed to return to the front desk to pay my co-pay and reschedule. When I went to pay, the customer service representative whispered loudly to a colleague about my diabetes, which is a clear violation of HIPAA. It was unprofessional and inappropriate to discuss my private medical condition aloud for other customers to hear. Following that, I sat down with another lady to get my prescription filled and glasses fitted. She was dry and unpleasant, even trying to discourage me from filling my prescription by saying it was very expensive and implying I couldn't afford it. The prescription alone was quoted at $408 plus tax. Frustrated, I left with my prescription and went to Walmart instead, where the environment was completely welcoming and the price was $200 cheaper. Based on this experience, I would never return to Pearle Vision in Chesapeake and would advise all of my friends to avoid this location. The business is rude, overpriced, and unprofessional.
