I was not happy with Stanton. A number of issues that kept reducing my confidence in them till I lost all confidence in Stanton and this branch office. During virtual exam, optometrist did not know what eye dominance was! Got new lenses in about two weeks. They were terrible. They made mean appointment alive, in person optometrist. He examined me and changed the prescription. The woman admin person could not find my info. After about 10 minutes, she said "don't worry, we'll find it and your new lenses will be readyin1-2 weeks and we'll notify you. A month goes by, no word. I call and get a call center. Said I should have received an email if the lenses were delayed. I got no emails. They call the store. Store will call me. First thing said when the store called: We don't know what happened..... that's a dead giveaway. I cut them off and said I HAVE LOST ALL CONFIDENCE IN STANTON AND PERSONNEL. I requested a refund. Was told they will issue a refund for the lenses, less the exam. If this is typical, they won't be in business much longer. read more

having a problem with one of my eyes. had virtual exam and was told if the doctor see something wrong they would call me. waited a few days no called back. Now I know there's some kind problem. I was told that I would have to come in for amother physical exam with a doctor there and I would have to pay again. then to boot if there's a surgery need the doctor don't do them. Horrible experience. I had my exam on April 13th. The lenses were discontinued although they never told me that until I contacted them almost a month later. I went down there with a previous pair of my glasses to let them use the frames. I was finally able to pick them up yesterday on June 4th. Incidentally, when I called in to their corporate, they weren't ready. But, when I called the store, they were. In any case, I went to the store and it took over an hour for them to find my glasses. When I put them on, I found out the nose pads were missing. Now after almost 2 months, I can't use the glasses that I paid for. Had a great experience at the Dowlen location. The store was clean and comfortable. The staff was very warm and smiling. After my exam for contacts, there needed to be a little "tweaking" to get things just right and Darchean (Manager) was absolutely incredible! I had a great experience with Stanton Optical last week. I went in for my exam. Darchean Odom took great care of me. I wasn't familiar with the virtual exam, however, he was extremely accommodating. My insurance allows me to receive a free pair of glasses annually. I brought my own frames. He provided excellent services, giving me the perfect tint for each pair. I started my nightmare with Stanton Optical last April. I live over 100 miles away and had to come back for two prescription rewrites, both of which were incorrect and gave me double vision. I had an amputation surgery in the Beaumont area and was told that time would not be an issue, provided it was within a year, if I needed to come back to get the prescription fixed again when I recovered from surgery. I made a trip back, had my exam done, and then they wanted to charge me for new lenses because of the timeframe so I am now stuck with two pairs of glasses that cause double vision. The manager, Schuyler, was very rude and unaccomadating. He refused to give me contact information for his direct supervisor and now I'm back to dealing with their customer service phone number who he claims will be equally as unhelpful. read more

September 2, 2022 to get eye exam for glasses and contacts, turn out didn't get to see a eye doctor for the exam it was total virtual, My husband doctor he couldn't understand very well, not to say he isn't a little hard of hearing. Exams were very in-personable couldn't/didn't talk about our health eye needs (example i was handed a contact RX that was for distance only, I ask what about reading up close? The answer, I would need to wear cheater. I explain to wonderful lady that's the reason I want progressive lens. I had also brought in my prescription from two years ago that include all this information) Both me husband were exam in two different rooms. we both said in the car that their lens machine look like they had smudge prints or something on them, Well Saturday mid-morning my husband eye hurt and have yucky stuff coming from his eye, went to Dr. this morning (Monday was a holiday) he has PINK EYE in both eyes, Dr said she would believe that it was eye exam. I called the Beaumont office, ask for manager the lady stubble all over her word about the manager wasn't in (making me think she really was the manager) when I explain the problem her answer she hopes he gets better. Really!! Not that I'll get the manager to call you back, so we can address this problem..To Stanton Optical, sanitize and sanitize double so your public clientele doesn't have to worry with kind of thing. So happy with this experience! I had been running all around town trying to find a doctor gracious enough to let me both order contacts and take home a trial pair to hold me over. After several attempts at various other chains, when I walked into Stanton, Jessica not only greeted me right away with a smile but, gave me trial pair to take home so, I wasn't blind on Thanksgiving Day! I was in and out of the store in maybe 7 minutes but, it was the nicest interaction I had had at any office around that day by far! Would give zero stars! Went to get a pair of glasses with my husband. Got the virtual exam, which either is unreliable or the doctor is because the measurements were wrong! I've been wearing glasses for about 20 years so I think I know when I can't see properly with glasses. We both ended up getting the $79 two pair deal. Well what good is a deal if the product doesn't work or isn't guaranteed. They suggested that we wait about 2 weeks for our eyes to adjust. I definitely was not told that I had 30 days to return if there was a problem. I gave the glasses a chance, didn't even notice how much time passed and I still could not see sharp enough. I meant to return sooner as I was being caused serious headaches but I simply could not make it back due to work. I finally had a chance and went in to let them know about our issues. My husband couldn't see well either, although he couldn't tell as well because it was his first time using glasses for near sided vision. I explained our issues and the lady attending told me to go ahead and make an appointment and then they would be able to review if the error was there's and that we would then be able to get PROPER prescriptions for our glasses. I went back in yesterday and was told that since too much time had gone by I would have to repay for new pairs. I don't understand why when I was told something else when I made the appointment, she wouldn't even listen to my problem. When she said too much time had gone by and that other elements could have caused the error in vision it sounded like she was trying to say that I was trying to get new frames just because I wanted to. Work should always be guaranteed! I knew my glasses were not correct when I couldn't even read sharply the street signs while driving. Now I barely drive due to the headaches I get from trying to read the blurry signs. I can't believe I was being asked to pay again for their error in prescription when I won't be able to use the other glasses when I got the proper prescription. So it's like throwing away money and paying them extra for their error. Customer service is assisting the customer with their issue the best you can and I definitely did not feel assisted. My problem was not solved and even if I have to make another appointment to finally get my prescription correct I would not give them my business! I called Friday 6/18/21 to schedule an appointment for my MIL for the next day. I gave all of her information (this was not her first visit there), including her DOB. When my husband brought her to to her appointment the next day, which was Saturday), he was told that she could not be seen because the doctor that sees patients couldn't see her due to her age. I have never heard of something so ridiculous, in fact, I gave her DOB twice when I scheduled her appointment and was not told anything about this. What makes it worse is that my MIL is a nursing home resident and is wheelchair bound and oxygen dependent, so getting her to appointments is no easy task! read more

I went to check Stanton Optical out today after hearing about their free eye exam and buy one get one free glasses promotion--I was sure that it was too good to be true but it was great! My last "random" eye exam (having to switch ODs after an insurance change) was disastrous, sending me home with the wrong prescription and fighting with me when I asked them to make it right, so I was very skeptical of trying someone new but I needed glasses to replace my 11 year old back up pair, so off I went. The staff greeted me warmly as I walked through the door and helped me get signed in for my exam. I expected a long wait as I was a walk-in patient but I was introduced to Shauni who helped me start looking through their huge selection. We had just finished looking through the frames when I was called back for my pre-testing. Even though today was their first day open, the staff was amazing! They checked out my insurance policy to see how to save me the most money and offered to help fill out the correct forms for me! The OD was friendly, quick, and knowledgeable and got me into the correct prescription, verifying my contact RX after I told him my horror story of my last exam even though I had only requested a glasses exam. Shauni was waiting for me with my selected frames when I was done and with the help of Candace and a couple of other members of the staff, I was able to narrow down my 8-10 choices down to two. Instead of empty flattery to close a higher dollar sale, they educated me on what frame shape and size I should consider to work with my extremely high prescription. I was sincerely blown away at not only the professionalism of every single staff member I spoke with but also their knowledge and willingness to explain things to me. I've been here a few times for various reasons. I started with my eye exam, and the doctor was personable and fast. He was positive and friendly without being too chatty, and I appreciated it a lot! Picked up my glasses a week later. I have a strong prescription and ordered the thin lenses. Most regular lenses are ready in an hour, my husband had his done in less than an hour. Everything went as expected. One pair of glasses was snug on the sides of my head and very uncomfortable, so I went back in today to have them adjusted. I happened to be helped by the manager, and he handled it amazingly! He fine tuned my issue with my snug glasses, and even tweaked my secondary glasses I'd bought here to be absolutely perfect! He took his time and made sure I was happy and comfortable. I saw others there being served as well as I was. One employee helping pull frames to a customer's preferences, another looked like she was getting her customer's frames adjusted just right too. My family and I have been consistently very happy with the service and quality of Stanton Optical. They've definitely earned our return business in the future! read more

Well that was a couple hundred dollars down the drain. I asked for computer glasses. They pushed to upgrade to progressive lens. I told them only if it's not more than a 2 to 10 foot range (for computer - TV viewing only) of course the glasses I got are for up close to way out in the distance viewing. This makes glasses with a very small spot of viewing. once I get them to the proper angle I can't move my head a fraction of an inch up down or left right. Since my good glasses I got from TSO last year broke. I had to revert back to $5 cheater I got at Walmart. I have VSP insurance, so the Stanton cost of these glasses was over $400. my insurance paid for half, but only once a year. Now I have to wait until next year to be able to afford good glasses. HORRIBLE customer service! I wish they had a ZERO . I tried to give this place a chance not once but twice, I took my mom in for some glasses , first off no greeting upon walk in, had appt. they lost the appointment somehow even though I confirmed it the same day! Next very unorganized office , very bland staff, second after all was done we go to pick glasses out pushy pushy on upgrades and so we got the warranty , go to 5 months later , mom drops glasses and lens popped out and got scratched, go to repair and was told so called glasses are no longer valid because they don't make them anymore so I would have to pay for another pair @ 20% at cost even though I have warranty for her, person was rude and very short after I asked to review warranty so I left with my mom and called customer service even WORSE service! Got the round and round talking to different people so I am NEVER going back and I advise everybody to do more research because this place is NOT a credible business.... I took my daughter for an eye exam way before the COVID virus paid $276 for a pair of glasses and sunglasses they gave her the clear glasses that day after an hour which was awesome they had to send the sunglasses out and said it would take 1 week... needless to say I have never gotten a phone call that they were ready my husband went to pick "prescription sunglasses" up today and they gave him the same exact clear glasses that we got the day we went for the exam. Wow, his place is bad. They "for just a few dollars more" you to death. My husband and I both got two pairs of glasses each. I made an appointment and asked "How much can I be expecting to spend?" $217 dollars. Ha Ha Ha Ha. double that. Fast service most glasses in 30 minutes. Mine will be here n 12 days. The telemed Dr is a joke, I can't imagine I will be able to see at all. There is one good thing about them. Their staff is amazing. We went late and there were mostly women, nice, friendly, good people. Today is the 9th we still do not have glasses. We have driven 180 miles back and forth and back and forth. I am very upset. I only give credit to the Doctor that gave my exam. He was very good. The deal Stanton Optical offers is insulting. Out of thousands of frames, they only give you twenty to choose from. Would not recommend...had an appointment at noon did not see doctor until 1:30 pm and was really rushed. Hopefully exam was correct. The customer service experience was great!!! All of the staff members were extremely nice and willing to answer questions at the time of visit. I was in and out with my eye exam, contact samples, and glasses purchased. As of date, I have heard nothing about my contacts and glasses ordered from a Stanton Optical Employee. I walked in 2 weeks ago to check on the status of my order and was told that the delivery truck hadn't passed. I'm very understanding with certain things but the outcome of this experience has been very poor. I just called and the automated service is horrible. I entered my phone number to see if my order was ready and was told that my number wasn't on file. Strange? Called the number provided back and spoke with someone in the optometrist part of the office. I was then placed on hold and waited for 15 minutes with no answer. This is unacceptable with any business!!!!! I will not call back but will be there first thing Monday morning because I'm not a local resident. Follow up is imperative with everything!! read more

I am very upset with Stanton Optical because I paid over $300.00 for 2 pairs of glasses with the BOGO free that I could not use because of the prescription. The first time I went to Stanton a lady from another office on video did my eye exam. The glasses came in a week and I try on the glasses and could not see through either pair of the glasses but the lady sends one pair back and asked me to try to wear the other to get comfortable with the glasses because I only need them to read. She worked with me for over 6 months but I still could not use the glasses. I when back to see if something can be done but was informed that it was over a year and I needed to have another I exam but this time it was a ready Doctor in the office. (Very nice and knew exactly what he was doing). I end up purchase 2 more pairs of glasses for over $340.00 instead of the 2 for $59.99. I am not sure how this second set of glasses. I will keep you informed on this set of glasses. WOW, forgot to mention 2 pairs of glasses with bad lens and nothing can be done with this set. read more

This has been a horrible experience. I saw the ad for free exam and buy one get one free glasses. After paying $40.00 for the eye exam, I checked out glasses. After hearing the $200.00 cost I was quoted, I decided to get my prescription and go elsewhere. I was then offered 2 pair for $100.00. This was November 14. I was trying to get glasses before leaving town for the Thanksgiving holidays. (Because these would not be ready, I did also end up going to a hour place for glasses.) In December, I returned to pick up my glasses. One pair was poorly made with one bifocal line cutting directly across my eyeball. I left them to be corrected. I returned a few days before Christmas to pick them up, they still were not correct and had to be sent out again. In January, I returned to pick them up only to find that the lens was out of the frame and needed a screw. After waiting, 10 minutes with children in the car, I had to leave without my glasses. Finally, today, nine weeks after paying for these glasses, I returned to pick them up. Of course, they could not find them. I suggested they may still be in the back where they were repairing them. After showing me several pair of random glasses, I tried on a pair, could see out of them and hoped for the best! NEVER AGAIN! read more

Horrible receptionist at optometrist office on Dowlen Rd., in Beaumont, TX. She tried to explain to me that because I was 5 minutes late for my 5:45pm appt-which I understand is my fault-that the optometrist may not be able to see me today because he leaves at 6pm. But, after back and forth with her and her attitude, I finally got out of her that there was a 6pm and two 5:45pm patients; one of the 5:45 pm patients (obviously the on-time patient) had already went back and the doc was with that patient. How, then, was the doctor, still going to see both 5:45pm patients without one waiting at least a few minutes (I didn't mind waiting as I understand I was 5 minutes late) and leave by 6pm? Am I missing something other than just a blatent lack of customer service and the receptionist's attitude and justification for the doctor not likely (how she made it sound to me) being able to see me for an eye exam? Total 360 from my experience a year and a half ago but I won't be back-and, working in healthcare for 17+ years, you can bet I'll share this info with my friends and colleagues...that receptionist needs some training on professionalism and customer service. read more
