The install itself took about 40 minutes, with no plumbing problems or leaks discovered (straight replacement). Overall cost was $670 including a ~$70 faucet, which I felt excessive given the simple job and the mistakes. I'd used Suntech before during Memorial Day weekend for a clogged toilet when my regular plumber wasn't available. The plumber cleared it in ~30 minutes for $179. Because of that prior experience, I trusted them with this faucet replacement, but the wrong faucet, missed appointments and excessive pricing made the experience disappointing. I called the manager to address the wrong faucet and late/ missed appointments; I didn't feel the concerns were meaningfully resolved and the explanation was mostly general overhead. I recently had my water service line replaced from the meter to my house. During the project, David discovered that the boring contractor hadn't installed the new line deep enough to meet code. It would have been easy to work around it, trench through my landscaping, or simply let it go--but instead, he advocated for me. He stood his ground, insisted the boring company come back and do the job correctly, and ultimately saved me from ending up with a substandard installation. That decision cost him an entire day's work while everyone waited for the boring company to return, but he still put doing the job right ahead of simply getting paid and moving on. To top it off, when the project was finished, his final invoice came in below the high end of the estimate he had originally given me. In a world where it's common to brace yourself for surprise costs, that was a refreshing experience. Got a second opinion from another company and it turns out the only thing that needed to be replaced was the ECM motor, nothing else was actually broken. No need to replace the furnace at this time. They quoted me 17k for all new units. Outrageous. Replaced just the ECM motor and it was $1500 with an honest company. Pretty sure because I'm a woman that seems like she wouldn't know what they're doing they tried to take advantage of the situation.

I can't deal with having to take **multiple days** off from work - and possibly losing my job - over a broken pipe. I especially can't deal with the modern practice of plumbers sending someone out to do an "estimate", but not to fix anything, and then scheduling an appointment to come out and do the work - forcing the customer to take off multiple times from work. That's just so wrong. I hope this was an aberration and not a common practice with Giesbrecht. What happened to: call the plumber, the plumber comes out and DOES THE WORK and gives you a bill and you pay? Done and done? ONE day off from work, one day of stress and anxiety and fear, and it's over? I'm sure the Giesbrechts are wonderful people. I'm also fairly sure they are good plumbers. I just can't deal with being stood up. I won't get any more time off from work until late MAY. So I guess I will have to live without water for all of March and April, and most (or maybe even all) of May. But don't let my anxieties and stress reflect on them. It's a bad time all around.
