I am cross-posting my review left on Google here. I live in Middle River, MD and used Stanley Steemer for air duct cleaning for the first and last time. Bottom line up front: I paid $730.00 for a terrible job done. My review is below. The two technicians (Robert and Dorian) that came to my essentially new townhome made a complete mess and I recommend that nobody use Stanley Steemer unless they truly have no other choice. I did not realize that I needed to walk around and monitor their air duct work like I'm a teacher and they are small children, for the money. We received a text message saying they were going to be here soon, so we were waiting, but apparently they stopped for lunch first, and showed up when they felt like it. We both were working from home and would prefer if the arrival window they provide is accurate. When they finally came, the equipment they used was dirty (the huge suction pipe they put together throughout my home should have had some plastic underneath it - I had to vacuum all of my stairs after they left) and extremely invasive to my home. My front door was left wide open for a long time, letting all sorts of insects in that I was stuck finding and killing, and when I rushed out in my house slippers to ask why they couldn't use the garage, one of the technicians mentioned he was going to put the screen up. That should have been done as soon as they opened the door. Shouldn't have taken me running out to facilitate the install of that. They also never bothered to cover their shoes and walked throughout my carpet with their shoes on. I had to wipe down my floors and vacuum all of my carpet that night while dealing with plantar fasciitis. They used my stainless steel dog water bowl (that had water in it) to help prop my door open. Upon observing everything after they left, I had to vacuum large amounts of debris they left in my laundry room and master closet, use magic eraser to remove stains from doors and walls, and we realized that they put a dent in some of the equipment in our utility room and damaged the paint on the ceiling around some of the vents. There are fingerprints on our white vents and they put a screw next to one where there never was a screw before. Now I have to pay someone else to come fix their damage. All of this for nothing. I would like to recognize Brian S. He is a 'Dryer Vent Specialist' with Stanley Steamer. Though he did not provide a service in my home, he did leave a very good impression. As he left my neighbor's house after completing a job he found a wallet on the ground. He walked around inquiring about how to find the owner who lost it. I was able to connect him with the kid to return it. These actions were very admirable and sadly, quite a rarity these days. Respect, Brian! Thank you. read more

I wish I had read these reviews before I hired them. I really need to have everything cleaned again! They cleaned wall to wall, area rugs and furniture and did a terrible job. They said they would come back and reclean them, but I had to do it within 30 days. I couldn't do that because the next week I was having major surgery. After 45 days, when I was able, they said they would come back out for an additional $50.00. I said no way! I just cleaned the walkway of one carpet with oxiclean stain remover and a scrub brush and the dirt came up quickly. That alone tells you how good there carpet cleaning is. read more

I never give bad reviews but I am now. I filled out the online schedule and completed the form; my apartment number and additional information that this was C___ P____ Apartments. My scheduled time was 8am-1pm. Briefly, I received a text the technician was running late, and received another link to track ETA. He arrived at 1:10pm so I went downstairs to meet the technician. Anyway, he showed up at the other building which has a different address. I went over and I told him I was the other building. I then asked "Do have a portable carpet cleaner"? He said, "No". Well, I was pissed because this happened to my neighbor less than a year ago and they settled with him to reschedule another date. I did not, I called customer support and they put me on hold. The technician called his office in Rosedale MD and I am in Dundalk MD. Long story short, I went off using "FU" language because I am 66 years old and moved all my furniture and spring cleaned my apartment! All the technician had to do was show up and clean my carpets which probably would have taken him less than 30 minutes. I was not going to settle by rescheduling from a Friday to another date. With that note Stanley Steemer, you need to fix your customer service and dispatch system so your technicians are prepared to do their job! Your system sucks and this is not the first time you have been to this apartment complex! I went out and bought a carpet cleaner and did it myself. See below before and after pictures. While the customer service and responsiveness were top notch, we had arranged for a leather couch to be cleaned and it really didn't make much diffrerence at all. For the price, I do not recommend Stanley Steemer for leather cleaning. read more

I have used this location many times. techs are friendly and respectful. However, my last two calls I either couldn't get an appointment or the representative could not narrow down their 6 hour window for service, which is crazy. Once I tried to use a coupon and was told the lowest any service could be was $125 and that was already the cost of the service I needed. Unfortunately, the coupon did not say that and the representative could/would not explain where to find this rule. Anyway, I chose to go with another company. I mean - it shouldn't be difficult to explain something to a customer AND close the 6 hour window a bit. Bye Stanley Steemer. read more

I went online and set up an appt for today 9/10/24 between 8-12 for an estimate to have our duct work cleaned. I have not received one thing and have wasted a whole morning waiting for them. a text or email whatever to let me know what was going on. it is now 2:07 and still nothing. I am headed out now and I guess when I get back I will be contacting other companies. sad that we can't charge them for missed appointments! thank you Stanley Steamer for wasting my day read more

We paid $263 to have our kitchen tile cleaned. After the first technician was finished there was still dirt on the floor that could be easily wiped up with a damp paper towel. We asked for a follow-up. The second technician spent about 45 minutes with their cleaning device. Dirt could still be easily wiped up from the floor with a damp paper towel indicating the "cleaning service" did virtually nothing. The technician saw this but said "I can't do anything more," and left. I am trying to get a refund, but they say they do not do refunds. Unfortunately, they do not clean floors either. read more

Let me share a story with you about the disaster of the company known as Stanley Steemer. Before you read further, if you need carpet cleaning done in the Baltimore area (or anywhere in the United States), it will be cheaper, more efficient, and make you happier to: 1) hire ANYONE else 2) go to Home Depot and rent a vacuum 3) repeat: HIRE ANYONE else. I booked an appt on 11/18 to have the steemer's come to my new house in Baltimore on Fri 12/3, 12-6pm window. I booked ~$800 worth of work to have hardwood floors, carpets, and kitchen tile completed. As a night shift RN, there is no way I would have been bright and cheery for a 9am showing. The time ticked along during my 12-6pm window, and finally at 4:35pm, I received a text my technician was on the way! After another hour wait, they finally came at 5:45pm. I give them the benefit of the doubt due to Friday traffic. When I booked the appointment, I specified I didn't have on-site parking, but they didn't know this (shouldn't this be provided to them in their list of appointments?) and had to prepare the equipment to bring the portable tank inside. Let me tell you this headache unfolded: 1. Due to the constraints of the portable equipment, they could not clean hardwood floors because the machine emits too much water and they would have no way to suck it back up- $200 worth of work: eliminated 2. Due to a minor crack on one singular tile in floor on the way to my laundry room, not even in the kitchen, they would be unable to clean the kitchen floor because there was risk that "too much water would seep under that one crack"- $200 worth of work: eliminated 3. Due to the portable machine not having enough suction, they would be unable to steam clean my upstairs carpets or basement. -$400 worth of work: eliminated I waited the entire day to have these floors cleaned, and instead I had no clean floors, wasted 6+ hours of my time, but guess what? Stanley Steemer lost $800 of my money. Thankfully as a consumer I have choices (and so do you!), so my floors are now glistening and clean without the help of them. Good help is hard to come by, while the technicians were polite, I do believe they were tired and another job at 6pm on a Friday was more than they were able to do. Shame on you Stanley "greedy" Steemer. You have lost me as a consumer, and all of the others I have shared this debacle with. If I could give 0 stars, I would. This review is specific to the Baltimore (Rosedale), MD location and the manager, William Norelia. TL/DR - We had Stanley Steemer come out to clean our basement and 4 bedrooms. We were upsold on deodorizer for the basement, but after they cleaned it the first time it still smelled exactly the same. We also had a sticky spot in our primary bedroom that they did not get up. The first tech also left our laundry room sink running and I had to go shut it off after they walked away for 10 minutes. After a second tech came out we still have a sticky spot in our primary bedroom carpet and that person left our hoses out (that he didn't even use), left our fence gate open (our dog could have gotten out), and messed around with our water shutoff valve and a pipe burst as a result. Customer service was good at first, they promised to pay half of the plumbing bill for the pipe, but then they reneged on that and offered a gift certificate instead - because after all this I will really want to work with them again (sarcasm). I will NEVER use them again so their gift certificate is just an infuriating gesture. If you want the details: The first technician came out, looked at the spigot out front and then opted not to use it but rather fill up the jugs he was using in the basement laundry room sink. He walked away from it for about 10 minutes and then I went to the laundry room and realized the sink was on. OK, easy oversight. That's fine. But when he left, despite upselling us on deodorizer, the basement still had an odor to it (it did not smell clean) and the primary bedroom still had a sticky spot. So I called back and asked them to come back out. The second technician came out, asked about the front spigot, I advised him that I'm not sure if he used it but he filled up his jugs in the laundry room sink. He then proceeded to get our hose out front out (which he then left across our driveway), and also went out back and did the same (which he left in our yard). He then abandoned the hose idea and went into the basement where our water shutoff valve is. Mind you, we had JUST had a home inspection 2 weeks prior and there had been no issue with the pipe, but then when the technician messed with the valve, the pipe to the spigot burst. At no point did he mention to me that the water was off and he needed it turned on - he took it upon himself to mess with the valve and then the pipe magically got a hole in it. At first the manager, William Norelia, was open to working with us and offered to pay for half of the plumber bill to come out and repair the pipe because, had technician #2 not messed with it, it wouldn't have burst. But then after sending them the estimate, they reneged on that offer and said they would send us a gift certificate in the amount of half for us to use Stanley Steemer in the future. Had they executed on their offer (that THEY proposed) of paying half of the plumbing costs, this review would go in a very different direction. I can forgive a poor experience most times if it is remedied properly, but this was a bait and switch. So now we have a sticky spot in our primary bedroom, a burst pipe that I have to pay $300-500 to repair, and possibly a gift certificate in the mail that I'll need to throw away. Regardless of the broken pipe issue and who is at fault, l like our money and time has been wasted by hiring Stanley Steemer. 0/10 would not recommend. read more

I'll never know how good the service is. Wanted a dryer vent cleaning. First appointment I scheduled online for 02/22/2025 between 8AM and 1PM. I had to reschedule that appointment myself because of unforseen circumstances. So I rescheduled for the following Saturday, 03/01/2025 the arrival window was from 1 to 6PM. I received a text about 5:30 saying that they were running behind and might be later than expected. They never showed up at all and never even communicated that they weren't going to be able to get here. But I went ahead and scheduled a new appointment for today 03/08/2025 between 8AM and 1PM. Again, I received a message saying that they were running behind and would probably be later than the expected time. Got that message about 12:30PM. It's now 2:41PM. No sign of them. I cancelled today's appointment and have chosen a different company and they're supposed to be here tomorrow 03/09/2025 between 11AM and 1PM to give me an estimate and do the work same day if I'm good with the cost. Wish me luck. Stanley Steamer might be very popular, but they're not very reliable. At least not in my case. I only wanted my dryer vent cleaned. I didn't expect them to raise the dead! Oh well. I wish I had waited to do their "survey" they text until I knew that they really did not do what they should. From the guy that came to do my estimate (who smelled of smoke/weed/cologne and talked too fast, to the two guys that came to do my air ducts. None of it was good. The air duct guys thought they were just there for an estimate. After some run around and me showing the previous estmate, they did stay but then said the tools they had weren't working to do the ducts the usual way. They assured me that was okay (although I have a Home Depot less than a mile away they could have gone to get what they needed.) I did not know what to expect as I had never had the ducts cleaned. I was not comfortable with either guy in my home either. After they left they left behind equipment that I had to send with the carpet gal that came next. I then discovered they did not clean ANY of the vent covers and yet were supposed to. I was having mold mitigation done so this was crucial. When I called to have them credit some of the $520 it costs to do the ducts they would only send someone back out to fix it or credit for future service. So somone in my home again, messing with my schedule and more, and a credit is not good since I will not use them again after this experience. After my experience with Stanley Steemer I cannot recommend them to anyone to use. I know I will not use them again. Hopefully this helps others make a wise decision. read more

Stanley Steemer came to our home to clean the vents and dryer ducts. They hroke a part on the heating unit and the supervisor called in another company to help fix it. They made us pay them out-of-pocket. And now Stanley Steemer thinks we should pay them the full balance even though they said it would be the difference of what the bill would be if we had to pay the other company. read more

I've used Stanley Steemer twice in the past and was very happy with their work. 2-3 people came out and left everything neat and sparkling. I'd wanted to get them back out for the past year but was waiting for most people to be vaccinated. I went online and scheduled them for this past Friday, between 12 and 5 pm. I arranged for the dogs to go to daycare so they'd be out of the way. The dogs had to be picked up by 6 pm. I figured even if SS came towards the end of the afternoon they would be done by 6 or so because how late would they expect staff to work, right? By 3pm I'd heard nothing so I called SS and was told we were the last appointment. The courtesy call came in at 4:15 and the guy (one guy!) showed up 30 minutes later. He said his partner called in sick. So one guy is trying to do a stairway, three room-sized rugs, a runner, the kitchen tile, and a sectional, and a chair. I asked him to do the stairs and the sectional first, so they would be dryest when my husband and dogs came home. He said he would put a fan on the sectional. He did the stairs first but saved the protectant for last so they weren't really done when everyone came home. He also forgot and did the sofa after all the rugs, no fan. At 7:15 he still hadn't done the kitchen floor. He said he'd called to get a 2nd person. I canceled the kitchen floor. Everyone in our house was starving and the carpets and sofa were all wet. My husband put out fans and once things were nearly dry I could see what a poor job it was. The sofa still had spots on the armrests and cushions. It's just dirt and saliva from the dogs. I know from experience I can scrub it off myself but I was trying to pay someone to save myself the work. The bedroom rug is a cream color and in the past after a cleaning it has looked like new. This time I couldn't tell it had been cleaned. In addition to spots that didn't get removed, there's a bright spot where I cleaned a mess with spot cleaner myself some months ago. If I could get it that bright, SS could have too. And of course the kitchen didn't even get done. I think the (one!) guy was just rushing. It was unreasonable to expect him to work the whole day alone. I sent an email to SS that I was unsatisfied and immediately got a reply that SS offers a 10-day guarantee. Today (Tuesday after Friday cleaning) I called the company and was told they don't have an appointment for two weeks and they cannot accommodate my request to get someone out between 10 am and 3 pm. They have only two slots: 8 am - 1 pm or 12 pm - 5 pm. I asked if I could be the last morning appt or the first afternoon appt. Nope. All they will offer is first appointment of the day - 8 am, but it's impossible for me to get the dogs out and furniture moved by that time. They did a sloppy job, they should be accommodating me. I could only speak to the central office. When I asked to speak to the manager, she took a message and said he'd call in 24-48 hours. That is NOT good customer service. When he calls (if he calls) I am going to ask for my money back so I can get the work done by another company. read more

I had an appointment schedule between 4pm-7pm, and by 6:50pm no one had called to say anyone was on their way. So I called and was told that they were running late. John, the technician arrived at 7:15pm and at that time he advised that he could not do our hard wood floors without stripping them. Then advised he could only clean our carpet with water because he had ran out of cleaner after completing an 8,000sq ft job prior to coming to my home. He proceeded to show us his previous jobs he had completed today on his tablet. Needless to say our carpets are still in need of cleaning and our floor still needs to be shined. There was no advanced notice that he was running late or that he couldn't do our carpet or floors. We're getting our floors done for the holidays and when I called they said that a member of management couldn't respond to my complaint for back for two days. This was terrible service and I will not be using Stanley Steemers again. read more

I decided to use Stanley Steamer for my vents including my dryer vent because supposedly they are certified so I chose them over a less expensive company to ensure the job would be done right. During estimate I'd asked if there would be a mess left behind, I was assured that it gets pushed down into the system and not out into the house and if any did end up on the floor they'd clean it up. They left a mess all over the floors and on mattresses, I was just going to let it go but after the rest of what's to come I'm not. They're also supposed to wear shoe covers, they didn't and I'd just had my carpets cleaned by them about a week before, which also wasn't a great job but I digress. So now I'm wondering why I bothered to pay $500 for carpet cleaning when their guys just came in with dirty shoes. I had to mention vents they skipped, I'm almost certain there's a couple more they never did that I was charged for but the kicker that has me leaving this review. I paid extra to have my dryer vent done. Lucky for me I'd asked a professional to install my dryer cause I may not have noticed that they did not clean it properly it is jam packed with lint and it's also detached. They didn't mention it being detached so I have no idea if he shoved the vacuum in there and knocked it off, or if it were like that and he thought he could get away with it. Either way, it's a major fire hazard especially with a gas dryer. I should note, we just bought the house so we have not been running it. I called in as soon as I learned about the issue, the customer service has tried reaching the manager for the vent cleaning several times with no response and I've heard nothing back. I was told because it's Friday and we're coming into the weekend I'm going to be waiting probably two business days after the weekend for a response and she can't book anything for me because they're booked out. This is unacceptable, they messed up they should resolve it quickly not leave my family of 6 without a dryer for who knows how long. I'm just thankful the guy who went to install it caught the issues before anything bad could have happened. read more

I needed my dryer duct cleaned. The crew that came was nice, but they did not have the appropriate equipment to reach my dryer vent. They attempted to clean it from the inside, used my central vacuum (I did offer to let them use it as all they had was an under powered portable) and with their brush, rod extensions, and air nozzle tip could not reach the end of my vent run. My vent meets building code - A company claiming to be able to clean a vent that is built to code should have the tools to do so. Their ladder would not even reach above one floor, at full extension landing in the middle of my home's windows. They did not have a bridge to safely use the ladder to bridge the window. Any painting company has bridges for just this purpose. How can a duct cleaning company not have this? How can their air hose and extension rods not reach the length of a duct that meets building code? I was charged for the cleaning, but the duct remained blocked. I called back, and they sent the same crew, with the same tools, and were unable to clear the blockage. Their solution? Offer a $25 consolation 'refund' because their 'reputation' is so important to them. I will include a copy of the email I received from their customer service below: xxxx xxxxx (name removed) 4:33 PM (1 hour ago) to me Hi Mr. XXXXX, Given the circumstances, a $25.00 refund is the only option available.  A full refund is not applicable because we were allowed to attempt to clean and we went out twice and tried.  We were willing to go into the attic for further access but were not allowed to.  If you do not want to accept this,  you don't have to, but I would like to give you something back as we do acknowledge your dissatisfaction.  If you dispute the charges, we will challenge it and the partial refund offer will be off the table.  Please let me know how you would like to proceed. If I had known this was even a possible approach, I would not use them. Disrupting blown insulation, even using boards to bridge trusses, does not ensure the insulation will not be compressed and lessen the ability to insulate. I have worked as a career lieutenant for a municipal fire service for over 20 years and have been in many, many attics. I would clean my own vents, but I don't own a 24 foot ladder and I don't use work equipment for home use - hence me calling Stanley Steamer. I can only say that I am completely dissatisfied with the end result. So much for a guarantee. Well, I hope the fee they charged will be worth the review I am leaving - because I plan on leaving more on many more review sites. I purchased cleaning of two rooms prior to my house going on the market. There were many visible spots that needed to be cleaned. Upon completion, the technician said there was a spill that must have been perfume or something and makeup stains that had died the carpet. it was odd because I had cleaned up some of the spots before their arrival I just didn't want to do it all by hand - which is why I hired them. once he left I went through and cleaned them all by hand with my small handheld carpet cleaner and they ALL came up, including the "perfume" spill which was the easiest to remove. I took before and after videos and photos to show just how easy the spots came up when doing it myself. It took him MAYBE twenty minutes to do both rooms. It was so terrible. The employees on the phone didn't have any compassion and sent me off to a manager who would return my call in 48 hours. It was a waste of money and a terrible job. I'm sorry to have to leave a less than stellar review during times like these, especially as we've had good experiences with Stanley in the past, but we were really disappointed with our cleaning. We had Stanley steaming two rooms in our house today. However, our cleaner, Brandon C, didn't show the professionalism we'd expected. When we asked for more detail on their cleaning policies, he came across as condescending and rude, going out of his way to answer us with a snarky reply. He was also a bit overeager to upsell us on additional rooms, yet evasive when asked for a breakdown of what we were being charged. We had to ask multiple times before getting a straight answer. Despite wanting to have more rooms done, our unpleasant interactions with Brandon ultimately turned us off. It's hard to feel confident we're getting what we're paying for when dealing with someone who isn't upfront and respectful. While our carpets did seem to come out relatively clean, our cleaner's lack of professionalism means we likely won't consider Stanley in the future. read more

Do NOT use this location. They never cleaned my rug and were an absolute nightmare to deal with. They tried to defend themselves but couldn't. They kept telling me my rug was blue which it isnt. They had no photos of mine and kept changing their story. I could waste my time explaining it in detail but just trust me DO NOT use these people. They are a scam and if you don't believe me look at the other reviews on here. If I could give them zero I would. They refused to give my money back. Darryl and Brandon will be out of jobs soon enough with these reviews. Headquarters will intervene. I am fighting with my credit card company. I honestly don't know how this company is still in business. We had some pet stains from a previous tenant and asked for them to be treated. They told us the initial cleaning may bring up old odors and we said okay. Fast forward months later.. the odor is 100x as bad as it was. We had them clean carpets in a storage room and now the entire room smells so badly like urine its unbearable. The guy rushed and then had the audacity to ask if we wanted other stuff done. Worst customer service. Had an appointment scheduled for tomorrow. We've used Stanley Steemer for more than 15 years. My husband and son went to rural Delaware for a lacrosse tournament last Saturday where they social distanced and worse masks. They said they could not come to our house because of the "safety of their techs" due to Covid. GTFOH!! I will NEVER use them again and I will for sure tell everyone I know not to use them either. Ridiculous. Since I cannot seem to respond to Darryls comment I will respond here. First of all, Delaware is not a hot spot! We are in the tristate area and this is absurd. Yet you clean houses in Baltimore city? That's not a health hazard due to their numbers? Furthermore, for your manager to tell my husband that we need to "quarantine for 14 days" is absolutely insane to me. So now I'm going to let some SS manager tell me what to do?! I got a couch free from my building but the previous owner had a cat and I'm allergic so I decided to get the couch cleaned. After there is still TONS of hair on the couch (which the man said was to be expected because it is difficult to remove). But, there was still dust all over the couch as well and there were several spots that they missed that were not damp afterwards like the rest of them as well as spots where there was still visible food on the couch. We recently had our bathroom remodeled and it made a dusty mess of my entire house so I set up an appointment with Stanley Steemer to clean my tile floors, hardwood and carpet. They arrived on Thursday, December 20, 2018. Before they arrived, I had removed almost everything from the rooms they were cleaning. If the furniture stayed, I emptied the contents of the china closet and cleaned everything off the tops of everything else so that everything could be safely moved for cleaning. According to Stanley, they would hand clean around any hard to reach spots but that wasn't the case. For my hardwood, the china cabinet was emptied but it wasn't moved for cleaning. The grandfather clock wasn't moved either and there is a small space between the clock and the wall that wasn't hand cleaned. I checked after they left and you can feel the dirt on the floor in that area. Other than that, the hardwood floors look good. The tile floors looked exactly the same as they did before the cleaning so I would never have them cleaned again, it was a waste of money. There are areas that look like they weren't touched, a corner in the bathroom and an area near the door to enter the garage. I will admit that the carpet on the stairs did look much better. The carpet was getting worn due to traffic and since the cleaning, they look good. The carpet in the family room doesn't look any different then before the cleaning. It's just the two of us so there aren't any stains on the carpet and it's only three years old. We have a fireplace in the room so it creates dust when cleaning the stove which was the main reason for the cleaning. We keep a carpet remnant in front of the fire place to catch any stray sparks and after the carpet was cleaned, you could still see when the remnant use to be. The carpet under the remnant is much brighter then the rest of the room. When I questioned the color variation, I was told it's due to the sunlight fading the carpet. If that were true, the rest of the carpet would be lighter then the area under the remnant and the carpet is in a lower level that doesn't get much sunlight. I have a TV stand and sideboard in the family room that I removed everything from the top so it could be easily moved for cleaning and they didn't move them. I also had a small bass module sitting on the floor that wasn't moved for cleaning. I had to put it up on the TV stand and have them come back to clean that area. For the money I paid, I would not recommend Stanley Steemer and doubt that I would ever use their service again. read more

We had Stanley Steemer out to our home on 6/14/18 to clean our hardwood floors. While the crew of two were polite, and the process did "clean" our hardwood floors, it left them very dull and looking much worse than before cleaning. We paid $199 and are now left with trying to figure out how to correct and make the floors shine again. We've tried a few options on small areas to no avail. Easy to make appt on line, quick arrival and courteous workers BUT carpet looks like it was vacuumed not cleaned. In fairness we didn't have many stains or spots (no shoes allowed in house), but after many years thought steamer would bring it back to life and lift any deep down dirt and or dust and lift matted down fibers. One of the guys "Gary" said yes it would "fluff" it back up. I Hoped commercial equipment would have super suction, not at all. Maybe workers are timed, didn't use enough pressure - they only run one or two passes over an area with machine maybe that is why there is barely any before and after difference. Very disappointed. To make matters worse they say they are not allowed to wear shoe protectors so in actuality they tracked in more dirt then they took away!!! My husband is literally now using a store bought bissel to go over their work-just hours after the SS team left and the water is coming up dirty PROOF they did a sub-par job. I can't understand why there aren't any other bad reviews (very fishy). Maybe if your carpet is filthy you will see a difference but I feel scammed. I could have given the $280 (5 rooms) to charity and felt much better. I don't know how they are in bussiness so long. read more

I rarely write reviews but felt compelled to warn anyone seeking carpet cleaning services in the Columbia, MD area. DO NOT use Stanley Steemer. They were late on two occasions despite giving a 4 hour window. The carpet cleaning was substandard at best. The carpet looks no better than before they cleaned it. They also charged me for services I neither requested nor was informed of requiring me to call to get a refund. I gave them two chances to make things right and it was an epic fail on all fronts. No one called to follow up on my complaints nor did anyone offer any concessions for the inconveniences or lack of preparedness for the service call. Will NEVER use them again. read more

Stanley came to our house and didn't move any of the furniture as it states they do. Called to complain and they said they would send a different team out 2 days later. Low and behold the same crew showed up and immediately gave me attitude. Saying it was my fault the furniture didn't get moved because there was something on the couch. That didn't explain the other couch and side tables. At first i told them to leave if they were going to talk to me that way but decided i just wanted it done. I have used Stanley Steemer 3 times and each time they did a horrible job cleaning. I will never use them again. Seems like they all get lessons on how to make the customer believe the carpet is clean when it is truly not so. They hire fast talking lazy workers. I am so discussed. I don't enjoy spending my money and getting nothing for it. I expressed to the call taker how I really wanted the carpet clean and I don't want to have to babysit the worker so that he doesn't take short cuts. I wanted to get my carpet professionally done because I have some stains in my carpets and frankly didn't feel like doing the labor myself , I felt like Stanley Steemer products would be better and stronger than my little carpet shampooer I have in the house, when the job was first done it's looked very nice , but don't be fooled after it's dries every last stains was clear as day, I was so disappointed and paid $400 dollars for a job I could have did myself , it's cheaper to but your own carpet cleaner and do it your self I guarantee you'll do a better job then they did .....FYI he spent less than 1 hour in 3 rooms hallways and stairs so that's says a lot read more

I never thought I would experience this. I had an appointment for an estimate for the cleaning of my air ducts. Stan came on-time and wore mask and booties. Stan examined my furnace and air ducts and reported my ducts do not need cleaning. What a surprise!!! There are still honest companies and people around. I rarely complain and most of my reviews are positive but I had them out a few months ago and they did a horrible job. Near the baseboards was not done you clearly saw where they vacuumed the few stains we did have they did nothing with I got out my carpet cleaner and they went away. Called and complained but they never called back to schedule a redo. read more

Hello im a 49 years young lady so I have my experience with dealing with professionalism but my experience with Stanley Steamer was the worst and I mean the worst. It started off good set the appointment they called me to let me know the driver was on the way then all hell happened the driver called to tell me his truck broke down so no one can clean my carpet today after I moved my furniture. I called the company number to let them know what had happened hoping they could squeeze me in the same day if not the next no I was on hold got disconnected twice on their end. She tells me dispatch isn't answering and the supervisor is gone so she couldn't help me she told me she can make another appointment a week from today wtf she should new didn't know what to do or say so I said ill call back, I called back and spoke to another person who was much better with helping me she advice me that a supervisor will call me in the morning she sent him a email, ok that is better. Now the supervisor called and told me someone will be out today, ( next day) ok no one never came so I just canceled my appointment because it was already 8pm and I was just over their poor customer service. It was more but my story is turning into a book. I will never use their service again read more
