I have a white wool mix carpet that I spelt coffee on. I called for an appointment, The two professional gentleman arrived on time. Evaluated the situation I was told I was going to be charged $250 to clean my carpet. However they let me know it does not seem possible they could get it out because of the make of the rug, they tried anyway, and they did not charge me anything because they were not able to remove the stain ! how professional!! Two years ago I used them to clean my air conditioning ducts they were very professional at that time as well, although I'm not successful with my carpet I am so pleased. BEWARE OF STANLEY STEAMER! I had them come to clean wool carpeting in my primary bedroom. Their people didn't know it was wool and used a chemical that browned out the carpeting in the entire room. They came back two time to try and fixed it to no avail. They have since refused to refund the $300 fee to ruin my carpet and they have refused to pay for my replacement carpet. The original carpet cost $9,590. The replacement carpet only cost $3,731.60. I am now forced to sue them for the replacement cost of the new carpet. Worst experience I have ever had!! No one should use this service. It has cost me over $4,000 and now a lot of aggravation to sue them for the money they cost me. UGH!!! read more

Hired these guys for air duct cleaning in my home in Palm Beach Gardens. Was expecting the upsell - I went ahead and had them install UV lights - I wish I would have waited to get competitive quotes, nonetheless the techs installed. They were very professional about cleaning the ducts. However, they do try to instill fear in terms of mold, bacteria etc. I waived some other options for "disinfection". Later, I had my HVAC maintenance appt. My HVAC guy told me that the wire nut was NOT WIRED PROPERLY on one of the UV lights. When he went to open the panel for the unit in my attic, he said sparks flew. Needless to say this could have been a MAJOR FIRE HAZARD. Thank God I had someone come in right after their work to inspect the units. Also, they only take CASH or DEBIT. I NEVER use my DEBIT CARD to make purchases but decided to do so because of the large total - the very next day I had FRAUDULENT CHARGES on my debit card from Walmart, and a few places in Hong Kong!!! I had to immediately cancel my card and challenge over 6 transactions!!! I tried to call multiple times to get ahold of a "manager" at Stanley Steemer and its just an answering service, with no return calls. This was all thoroughly disappointing. I rely on reviews, so I am leaving this review as a warning to others and for this business to hopefully get it together. read more

Actually I give both Tech's 5 but business 4. I scheduled both A/C vents & dryer vent cleaning & was given a total price. Finished with call center rep & then did the math. Price was $18 higher than quote. Called back for explanation & then & only then I was told there is an $18 service fee for truck gas & maintenance. Never told that but said OK to proceed but a little pissed. Booking rep also told me that Tech's use a camera for before & after job pictures. Tech's thought I was crazy because they do NOT do this. A little more pissed I then received a confirmation text which told me if I pay with credit card there is a 3% service fee. What?? That should be a cost of doing business. Asked if many customers paid with CC & told most do. What?? Now more pissed as job now cost $35 more than quote. Ended up paying with debit card & no fee so I had $ to tip the Tech's who did a great job. read more

Technicians wanted to cut a huge hole in my main air duct with a big knife. I had no idea this would be part of the process. I said no and declined the service. To their credit, they were polite and nice about leaving. I suggest when an appointment is scheduled, they describe exactly what they intend to do to clean the ducts. read more

I hired Stanley Steemer to clean my air ducts and vents. While I appreciated the ease of scheduling, everything else was pretty much a disaster. First things first, the crew was late in arriving and had to rejigger my work schedule to accommodate them. I understand that things happen and people can run late, but at least give the customer a heads up to let them know. As for the experience itself, I was primarily disappointed with the company's upselling tactics. I simply wanted to get the ducts and registers cleaned and vacuumed out. The technician constantly tried to push additional services, such as sanitizing every duct, cleaning the coils, cleaning the blower and installing a UV light, even though I repeatedly said I didn't want them. These pushy tactics made me feel uncomfortable and irritated. Also the price they are charging for some of the add on items are ridiculous. They wanted $30 to "sanitize" EACH duct, which would have come out to $450 for us. After doing some quick research online about what duct sanitizing entails, I realized that you can accomplish the same thing with a can of Lysol and some paper towels for about $6. So to say that $450 is outrageous is not a stretch. Additionally, I didn't feel like the cleaning was as thorough as it should have been. They had a few guys working on the cleaning and it seemed like they did a cursory vacuum at best. It didn't seem to be a very thorough or thoughtful process. To make matters worse, some of my return vents were damaged during the cleaning process. Overall, I would not recommend them due to the aggressive upselling and subpar cleaning performance. I have since found other cleaning companies that offer similar services with better results and less pressure to purchase unnecessary add-ons. read more

Easy scheduling , very responsive owner that gives accurate and competitive pricing, honored a coupon, took credit card when they left, people were on time (arrived even few minutes before scheduled) and everyone was very respectful towards me, and careful with my things and time. this company came to clean my two white reclining chairs. After they finished there was a big blue line across the top of one and water marks of yellowish brown on all sides of the chairs and the seat cushion. Ineed to get them recovered and gave the Stanley Steemet manager the lowest estimate for the fabric and labor and he only offered half the price. He wanted me to pay the other half even though his people ruined the chairs and lied Toni. that it was not their fault Their work was the absolute worst and, more importantly, the manager will not reimburse me for the full cost of recovering the chairs that they ruined. read more

We've lived in our house for 13 years and we are both pretty fastidious about keeping the house clean. The house has very pourous cream tile and grout throughout the majority of the downstairs, and even though I constantly mopped and annually got on my hands and knees to scrub the grout, it was looking pretty nasty. Buyer Beware. I hired Stanley Steemer to clean my air ducts. After reviewing the online video, it looked like a good system to get my air ducts clean. They showed up, cut a hole in the plenum and told my tenants that there was mildew in it. When I arrived, the tenants were holding their baby, wanting to know if I was going to also pay for a plenum cleaning. I was put on the spot so I did, at a cost of $300 in addition to the $400 to clean the air ducts. I had to pay before the work was done. A 8-9" vacuum hose was connected to a square hole cut into the plenum and turned on. All 12 of the vents were also left open as well as the hole in the bottom of the air handler. This resulted in almost zero suction power at each vent. A 10-12' hose was inserted into each vent, moved around and pulled out. That was the extent of the cleaning. The distance of some of the vents to the AC air handler is over 30'. So, nothing was cleaned. It was all a show. They didn't kill the mildew in the plenum with anything. It was just covered up with AC glue/paste. They would not provide pics of the before and after work. Several hours later, after they had left, I received one pic. I could not tell if it was from my place or another place. I was refunded the cost of the mildew cleaning and I appreciate that. But I feel that other potential customers need to know that the whole thing was a scam. I had to pay first. The vents were not sealed. The mildew was simply covered up. I had always viewed Stanley Steemer as a reputable company. Maybe it is, but the franchise is not. Buyer Beware! read more

Steve and Wiz came out and did a phenomenal job cleaning our couches. We bought these couches and they were completely covered in cat hair! They were disastrous! On the way home, we debated whether or not to try to clean them ourselves and decided to get them professionally cleaned. We were able to conveniently book Stanley Steemer to come out within the hour of purchasing. We were literally pulling into our drive way, when Steve and Wiz arrived. Steve and Wiz took a look at the couches and let us know that they may not be able to fully remove all of the cat hair, but they would try their best. After 45 minutes of diligent work, the couches are 98% free of the cat hair. I am incredibly grateful for their hard work! Great job guys! I will definitely recommend you in the future! read more

Mold removal. Had a condo full of mold and needed the entire premises cleaned. We had a mold remediation company come and give us a report on the severity of our problem. It was sent to Stanley Steemer of South Florida on South Congress in Delray Beach. We had to move out for about10 days. They brought in air scrubbers and industrial type fans. After 5 days the remediation people came back and checked the site. Their findings were for Stanley Steemer to redo the entire condo again. We found that all our clothes were just put into trash bags and all our pictures were boxed up. (We originally asked if a rep would come out to check the site and were told they were going by the remediation report. If we knew what they were going to do, we could have packed up in some type of order. We found that it was a crap shoot on what was done. Most of the pictures were put in boxes still full of mold. Others were left where they were. Some things were moved and others looked like they were never touched. Appointments were not kept. We sat in the house waiting for the crew to show. Sometimes it was later in the day and other times it was another day. Also had a cushion apparently thrown out which they reimbursed us for. Very disappointed. read more

I hired Stanley Steemer to clean and deodorize an area rug and two love seats. They were not visibly soiled but just needed a refresh. The man who came was punctual and professional. Everything went well with the love seats. He told me the rug needed 24 hours to dry. I lowered the a/c and turned on the fan. Now 24 hours later, it's smells absolutely horrible! So bad that I have removed it from my house and will just throw it away after paying for it to be cleaned. It stunk up my entire house and now I have a migraine. Complete waste of money. read more

I had explained it was a large living room and she said "I should have told you over a certain sq footage the price went up"...but YOU didn't and now won't stand by their quote.
