I also noted that X-rays had been taken at my previous dentist's office. The assistant said she needed to check with the dentist to see if he would be able to see me without taking xrays for a dental cleaning and proceeded to take multiple photographs of my teeth using their intraoral camera. Dr. Alan then approached me and questioned my decision to decline X-rays. After I explained my medical history and reasoning, he chuckled and stated that without new X-rays he would be "treating me in the dark," and refused to provide even a basic cleaning or polishing unless I consented. I was told I could reschedule when I was "ready" to take X-rays. The dismissive laugh that accompanied Dr. Alan's comment suggested that even he recognized how preposterous his own justification sounded. As an adult, making an informed decision about my own body, being coerced into a procedure I declined is unacceptable in this day and age. The office staff were otherwise friendly and professional. If this practice has a non-negotiable policy requiring X-rays before any cleaning, that policy should be clearly disclosed before appointments are scheduled. I left without receiving any care and will not be returning.

First off the place is nice, clean and the dentist assistance I had was amazing. Onto the problem. dr Lisa is my Dentist, if I had cavities she would fill them and then "go to deep" which then made me need a root canal, and most recently I went in last week she did her final exam (not finding anything of worry) only for me to find a growth in my mouth. I called to see if I can come in for someone to check it out seeing I was just there and got the "your mouth has no issues" I'm told that I need to pay for an exam fee, sure ok but that's kinda ridiculous seeing I was just there and was told I had no issues except I do? Why did she not tell me about this growth I have it's a hard lump on my gums. The receptionist argued with me on the phone- very rude, like other reviews have said. I understand if she had mentioned this growth before and I wanted to check on it to make sure it was going away but to get a "clean bill of health" only to find out I have an issue to me is a them problem and to make me pay to be seen again is not ok. I needed to have a crown removed and then replaced. Very minimal discomfort but what really surprised me is that the whole process was completed in house and within two and a half hours as opposed to the ten day to two week process with previous dentists. No worrying about a temp crown falling out before the permanent crown became available. Everything completed in one visit. Definitely a five star review if not ten

I'm claustrophobic and I have a huge phobia to dentists but I was referred here by a coworker years ago and have been extremely happy ever since . He has always been very gentle with my teeth and considerate of my fears. He always keeps me informed about any treatments I need and the priority level of each treatment and He never try's to "upsell" for any treatments that I don't need. I've also been treated by his son Andre in the same office who also shows as much care. The front desk staff are all very polite and knowledgeable about the different insurances and timelines and are always very prompt in getting ahold of my insurance to let me know about my coverages and what's to be expected as far as payments and plans. I've always recommended/referred my friends,family and even new people I meet to come to Dr. Barakat's office for any dental need.

Wisdom Tooth Removal experience? 10/10…read more I'm a scairdy cat. I know...everyone gets nervous. But I'm next level ridiculous. The front office staff, dental assistants, and Dr. Andre Barakat, were all so sweet, and gentle. They have brand new equipment, and relaxing scenes playing on a TV. Dr. Andre patiently talked me through everything. His demeanor is very calming and he got the offending tooth out in about 30 minutes, with no pain. (He numbs your gums first, so you never even feel the Novocain shot.) The pre-procedure panic, was replaced with relief and gratitude for their patience and kindness, and I couldn't stop myself from asking the dental assistant if I could give her a hug. She said yes, but in addition to being a big baby, I'm also a spazz, and I tripped over a little trash can next to the chair. So between that, and the lingering high emotions from being scared, I don't know if I ever did hug her. LOL. (I would have run around the office hugging everyone, but I had embarrassed myself enough for one day, and promptly went home.) As soon as I got home, I took OTC pain meds, figuring I better get ahead of things before the Novocain wore off. I went to bed, woke up the next morning and didn't need any pain relievers at all. If you're scared, and putting off a dental procedure, just call their office and make an appointment. They will take great care of you!
