We honestly thought it was just a coffee shop, but it turned out to be the perfect place for a light meal and a relaxing break. The shop has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere with unique décor featuring photos of the local community and its history, which gave it a lot of character. There are several seating options, including high-top tables for two, lower tables with four chairs, and bar seating. The menu offers much more than coffee--they also serve sandwiches, ice cream, and other drinks. We ordered the Southwest Chicken Quesadilla, which came with a side of salsa, and it was absolutely delicious. To drink, we had the Raspberry Cream Soda and the Detox Water with strawberries, lemons, blueberries, and cucumbers. Both were refreshing, and the detox water was especially good. The background music was just right--not too loud, making it easy to enjoy a conversation. The shop was spotless, and the staff couldn't have been friendlier. The ladies behind the counter were welcoming, and the gentleman who prepared our food did an outstanding job. This was the perfect way to wrap up our visit to the area. We left with full bellies, great conversation, and a wonderful last stop before hitting the road. How any business is still operating with so little convenience factor for their customers, especially customers with special need, is beyond me. So you basically admitted to ignoring me 4 times and gave me attitude to boot? You ain't talking to me that way again, boy. I didn't catch your name but this was Thursday, May 22, around 1-2 PM or so. That person needs to be taught how customer service works.

The true star here, though, is their hot case. Do yourself a favor and also pick up a dozen tamales ($1.79/ea). Our favorite with the MCJ/jalapeño cheese ones. A close second were the beef. The chicken were merely acceptable by comparison. The best thing, though, was the roasted lamb ribs ($6.99/lb). Rendered in the hot case all day, they were tender, moist, flavorful, and came with enough napkins you won't leave handprints all over the car. If you like them extra salty, like a normal human being, ask for a few packets of salt, it truly made the experience. A box of buenelos for dessert and a few cold drinks fueled us up to push to New Mexico.

This would be a five star review except for the fact that there was a long long line and two registers open but the larger man working the second register never called any customers over. Her just stood there doing absolutely nothing while the woman at the other register took care of everything. At one point she finally said, his register is open, prompting customers to go to him. She had to do that multiple times to keep the line moving.
