Stanfield's is a good choice if you have played golf at the RTJ Shoals course and are hungry. The course is convenient to RTJ, but located in the middle of nowhere. Actually I didn't see any other restaurants between RTJ and the Marriott. It is a "down to earth" family restaurant that is the epitome of country. The staff is friendly and they all speak southern. The menu primarily features steaks and some seafood options. I had the 10 ounce Delmonico, a loaded baked potato, side of sautéed mushrooms, and a Caesars salad. I thought the steak cut was decent in the context of a "family-type" steakhouse. The baked potato and salad were good. The mushrooms were very salty and tasted like too much Dale's seasoning. The prices are very reasonable. We had a party of 20 on Friday night. It was around 8:30, and the crowd was winding down from what looked like a busy night. We were seated in the back room near the salad bar. Cold beer orders were delivered with chilled mugs, and I thought that was a nice touch. Our steak orders took about 50 minutes to come out of the kitchen. I can see obviously a lot of people love this restaurant. Since they opened I've been there 4 or 5 times trying to like it. The first few times the wait time was outrageous for around here, 1 1/2 - 2 hours. I thought it must be amazing! It really wasn't. Every single time I have been the food comes out wrong and some of the waitresses seem very inexperienced or like they don't care. One example, my sister ordered deluxe nachos for an appetizer We waited a LONG time and when they finally brought them it was a plate of soggy nachos with some sauce on them - nothing else. We showed our waiter and he said he would replace them but we didn't want to wait another 45 minutes to get it back. The food is ok. The last time I went with my husband was at lunch. Got seated immediately. My food tasted good, but I immediately noticed the booth we were seated in looked dirty. The cloth bench was stained like drinks had been spilled repeatedly on it:(. There were also red splatters like spaghetti sauce on the white wall. The towel the waitress cleaned the table next to us with had a bad smell...so, all that made it unpleasant. Just my opinion, but maybe if they streamlined the menu and got really good at a few items and spent more time training the waiters and waitresses and made sure things were cleaner, it would be better...more to my liking anyway ‍ read more

I would give this restaurant five stars because our waitress was super nice and patient with me. I have food allergies and asked a million questions about food preparation. Unfortunately, there is nothing on the menu I can eat. They cannot steam the shrimp or crab legs without Old Bay, and the only salad dressing they make is their ranch dressing. I cannot eat ranch because of the ingredients in most mayos. I have to use Primal Kitchen Mayo. The fish 'n chips come pre-battered and have spices. We are in Florence fir hubby's birthday, and he was looking forward to crab legs. But, as mentioned above, they were unable to steam them them without Old Bay. That is okay...that leads me to believe they don't cook anything from scratch. Hubby ended up with wings, and I got a salad and used lemon for the dressing. Thoroughly enjoyed the food and thought it was a great value in addition to being delicious! We had tried to go a few times but there was always a long wait and they don't take reservations but we timed it right on a Saturday and were seated right away. The service was above average (not stellar) and the ambiance was fine for casual dining. What I expected (little fancier) was 100% totally offset by the prices, which were great given what prices are everywhere else. This Steakhouse has a really cool antique decor. The service was good, and the food arrived quickly. My wife had a decent cut of sirloin and it was cooked correctly. Stanfield's is a good family restaurant, and is a favorite amongst the locals for a weekend dinner spot. They have above-average steaks, better than I've had elsewhere. I ordered the 14 oz ribeye, and it was juicy, well-cooked, and had good flavor. Their salad bar is lame. But the potato salad is homemade. They have options for all ages, and for every appetite. The word on the street is they have fried cheesecake... Overall, it's a solid spot for a good meal. But there might be a wait on Friday night, and it's a bit of a drive out there. read more

Consistently delicious food and friendly service in a very relaxed, cozy atmosphere. The salad bar is fresh and has yummy black and green olives which I rarely see anywhere else. We've eaten here occasionally over the last few years. It is pretty expensive, the facilities are grungy, but the food is okay. I had the 16 ounce sirloin and my wife had the delmonico. 25% of my sirloin was fat which I found to be unusual since sirloins are generally a lean cut of meat. The service was good. At check out, they lost our ticket in the new computer system they were using and had to regenerate it. Here we are, holding the ticket that had our amount on it and they rummaged around trying to find the original order in their system. I finally gave them a $100 and they twice tried to give me too much money back. Oh, well, everybody has their off night. read more

Stanfields Steakhouse is now a new favorite. It's a local spot that my fiance was told about by friends at work (we're new to the area) and we checked it out on a Saturday night. The restaurant was hopping, and I really liked the casual atmosphere and decor (think roadhouse, plus lots of live plants). Our waiter was great and the food was delicious. We had the fried onion appetizer, which was fabulous, and both had steaks and shrimp for dinner. We both tend to err towards the rare / medium rare side for stakes, so our steaks were overcooked, but it's a hometown joint and nobody was expecting Ruth's Chris - we were okay with a solid medium this time, but will be more explicit about "yes, I really want it bloody" next time. The salad bar was delicious, clean, and well stocked, but I wish they had something other than iceberg. The prices were very reasonable. We'll definitely be back, and we see why everybody likes it! read more

I had heard great things about Stanfields so my wife and I went there Friday night. I was not impressed at all. I had a sirloin that was not seasoned at all and my wife had the fish fillets that tasted like they were battered in flour instead of corn meal. Last night my husband and I visited Stanfield's for their last night open for 2018. They re-open February 26, 2019. We walked in and ordered a diet drink and a glass of bourbon. We then got the drinks and were told they pretty much were out of everything and I mean everything! We didn't even know that until AFTER we ordered drinks. I guess that was the point though. We found something to order and the waitress left to place our order. My husbands bourbon glass was less than 1 finger full of bourbon and was very watered down with ice and water. He ordered another one with no ice. This is where it got bad, quick! She brought us again less than one finger full glass of bourbon without ice and I was amazed. Another issue is everyone was standing around and talking. We both felt out of place mind you this is a restaurant. Our food was good. The bill came and I was shocked! $5 and $8 for the bourbon! I was put off guard and angry that they charged us that much and I felt ripped off. The total bill was $50 for two meals and some drinks. They also charged me $2.10 for a watered down Diet Pepsi. I get this was their last night open, I do! However this shouldn't stop business and staff from treating customers like they don't belong. What's even weirder is they were posting about this on social media and wanted people to stop by! Will never do business here again I will make sure my friends know to avoid this place too. read more
