Sue has been cleaning our home for 3 or 4 years now every other Friday. She does that jobs that we dont get time to do like the "Details". She always brings help and everyone on her staff is always really nice and friendly, and they always take my wife's direction with no complaints and all smiles, and my wife is pretty finicky. Usually if someone does a bad job or messes something up she chews my ear off about it like I'm the one who made the mistake or told them to do it wrong in the first place. Not with Sue or her peeps, I get a nice smiling face and a clean smelling house for about 20 mins then my kids mess it all up again. Sue was a life saver! I'm sick with pneumonia and with the cold weather and where I live in Encinitas right next to an open field, mice have been having fun in my new place. I took all the steps to get rid of them however its been quite the task cleaning up after them. Finally I had complained to my son and he was able to find Standard Cleaning online and Sue picked up late on a Sunday. She was very nice and listened to me complain about all of my problems I was having. She was very polite and said she could make me the first appointment for Monday morning the very next day! I was shocked. When she came in she brought all of her own supplies. Explained to me how to properly take care of mice droppings and gave me some helpful tips on how to keep mice out of my house. Did you that you can use peppermint oil on a cotton ball and place them in areas the mice are coming in and it repels them? I sure didn't. Apparently the mice are allergic to it. Just another fun fact that Sue shared with me. She used all organic cleaning supplies to safeguard my airways as well knowing I had pneumonia. I mean, who does that?! I was beyond impressed and to top it all off, she cost less than another cleaning service I've ever received. Kudos to my son for finding her but what else can I say about Sue. We hired Standard Cleaning Services to do a move out cleaning for us. I chose them because they were located close to us and had great reviews. I also appreciated that the website made it very clear what we could expect to be done... some other cleaning services weren't very specific about if appliances would be cleaned out, drawers, windows, etc. I honestly couldn't have been happier with the service! Sue called me a couple days in advance to work out the time to come and reassured me that they knew what they were doing and what landlords look for in move out cleanings. My landlord did say that they did a really good job, but noticed one thing that had been missed (fireplace not swept out). That really wasn't something we specifically asked for and I wasn't aware needed to be done. When I called Sue offering to pay her to go back and do it, she said not to worry about it and she would go back to do it for free :) She followed up with me after it had been done so I could have that peace of mind. Sue (the owner) definitely is someone who takes pride in her work and puts her heart into it. She made the craziness of moving (and trying to get that dang deposit back) a breeze. The Free Consultation is all over the phone, no free estimates done onsite which is reason we opted for another service, at $65 an hour I'd rather gamble with another company. Lady was nice and friendly though and had her reasoning(s). read more

I used Sue to clean my house before my move out inspection. I was unable to see the place before the inspection with my landlord. The results were pretty bad. I ended up having to pay again in order for the house to be cleaned to the standard needed for the turnover. The landlord provided me photos of what it looked like before she cleaned it again, it was low quality work. I even tipped before I saw the place, since the reviews were quite high, but that turned out to be a major mistake. I attempted to contact Susan about the poor job and maybe recoup my tip amount but she never responded to calls or texts. Very disappointing. The good reviews did not reflect my experience. Huge disappointment! Was scheduled for cleaning service today and Standard never showed up. I even called and left several voicemail messages throughout the day, and my call wasn't returned for several hours. When a woman did call, she told me that we weren't on the schedule and that her partner must not have written it down. We're now scrambling to find a cleaning service for our vacation rental, which is required per our contract. Waste of a day and this company offered no reasonable solution, even though it was admittedly their disorganization that caused the debacle. Very unprofessional! DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!! read more

Can't believe this company received more than 1 star. My tenants hired them to do a final cleaning. VERY DISAPPOINTING!! My tenants were really bummed to find out they didn't clean much!! They didn't do clean the shower doors and trim, the refrigerator shelves, the outlet covers, the moldings were full of dirt and dust, the cobwebs on several walls, carpet wasn't vacuumed and had dead daddy long legs hanging in various places, the vent cover of the microwave was disgusting, and on and on... Don't bother hiring this company. My tenants tried to contact them after and were not able to reach them. What a surprise! read more

I have used Standard Cleaning for a few years now and I couldn't be happier. Sue is very friendly, professional and always does a fantastic job. I live in a small apartment and my schedule is very busy so sometimes our scheduled days won't work last minute. But Sue has been flexible to switch days without hassle. She also was able to accept electronic payment which makes my life a lot easier because I often forget to leave a check out. Just a few taps on my phone and it's done. Also every apartment I've lived in during the past 10 years have had the carpet destroyed from daily use and wear (I use a wheelchair). But Sue has gone the extra mile and regularly makes an effort to maintain the carpet in my apartment. I've never had carpet last this long while still looking great. I'm very pleased with Sue and her team and would definitely recommend. read more

I can't even truly give Standard Cleaning one star because I never even got to try their service. There was zero response to the "contact us" email. Then when I followed up with a call, the person who answered was brusque and unintelligible. But I'm pretty sure he said he was "too busy" and would call back. I am still waiting 3 weeks later. In fact I began attempting to contact them well in advance of when I needed them. No luck, however so I ended up doing it myself--for free! Hey! It ain't rocket science! I employed my previous service for 18 years (they retired) and was seeking a new regular service. Too bad Standard Cleaners are "too busy" to bother. read more

worst cleaning service i ever hired. asked double than anybody does in industry, agreed on hour rate and total,then they decided to stop cleaning in minute i left the house and didn't even want to do dishes claiming they take hours. how can you run this kind of business by leaving the house early and not finish cleaning and still get paid. never hiring these 3 ladies ever again. be aware! read more

Terrible!, DO NOT USE!!!!!!! I hired them to clean the place I was going to move into, a very small house (700 sq ft.) I payed before the job was done and left them working trusting I was going to to get the promised results...BIG MISTAKE!. After they left, the stove was still covered in grease, Oven had the same mess, Microwave had grease under the door. They say in their site that they move the appliances, that's a lie! there were cobwebs under the stove and splattered grease on the side of the refrigerator. Floors looked vacuumed but not mopped. I have a vacation rental in Carlsbad. Sue helped us set up our rental from the start. She gave wanted advice on how to make it better, what we were missing, what the guest would like. As we prefer to maintain the rental ourselves, on occasion, we are out of town. We have been able to leave the cleaning up to Sue and she was very helpful in checking in guests and answering their questions, taking care of minor details for them while we were gone.
