We discussed he was to match existing rocks and he was not able to engage in good customer service and discussion. In addition, he quoted me a price and then asked for $200 more saying he didn't quote me that price. If you need services beyond mowing, make sure it is clear and and in writing exactly what is to be done and the total price. The actual work they do is quality but the poor communication and defensiveness can result in a project not done properly and pricing disputes.

I saw the temperatures dip and I bought a dethatcher to get to work. I set this weekend aside to do the work. I scheduled another company to come do the aeration. I spent Friday afternoon and Saturday morning mowing low and dethatching. At 2:30, the person supposed to do the aeration told me their machine broke. It was scheduled to rain at 4pm so I was a little frantic. Luis was able to fit me in at 4:20 and his team got to work. Luckily the rain held off. As they were aerating, I was overseeding lol. Started to drizzle as we were all finishing up. I managed to lay down some fertilizer just before the rain intensified. I can't thank Luis enough for doing such a last min job and considering it was just to aerate. They drove all the way from laurel just to help me out. More than the work itself, I really speak to the kindness he showed. Even when he arrived, we had a very nice conversation and it was just overall a nice exchange. They wouldn't stand by their work and instead offered to charge us for something they should've fixed at the time. Matthew from ACE Plumbing looked at the floor, identified the problem, and pointed out other (now obvious) issues leading that were leading to the feeling that the home was kinda falling apart. We initially asked for just the floor to be fixed, and other contractors only quoted us for the band aid solutions we thought we needed. However, Matt dug deeper and discovered rot in the siding, a leaking roof, and deteriorating walls, among other challenges. We chose Matt and ACE Plumbing over four other contractors because he was communicative, always available to answer questions, and proactive in giving advice that would save us trouble in the long run. Since we don't live in the home, Matt and his crew kept us up to date with photos and phone calls. As issues came up, he informed us of the process needed to resolve them. Throughout the entire process, we felt we were in the hands of professionals. Matt was able to describe the problems with our beautiful but old house, outline our options for a fix, and provide a timeline that worked for us. Another benefit was that Matt didn't just contract out the work we paid him good money for. He was on-site, getting dirty with his crew and taking videos to answer our questions. He wasn't just a glorified receptionist shuffling tasks to groups of unskilled workers.
