Jennifer Feng Shui'ed our office this year, and some of the things she told me kind of blew me…read moreaway. Jennifer does the Classical form of Feng Shui, involving a compass. She takes multiple readings of the building before we even start. She also creates a "Bagua map" superimposed over our floorplan, which informs us of all our "life areas" such as Career, Knowledge, Health, Wealth, Relationships, etc. First she calculated the Gua numbers (personal Feng Shui signs) for me and my office mate. We were both Gua #8. Gua 8 is the "Mother Earth" of the Bagua. My office mate and I get along very well. As for me and my office mate, Jennifer made sure we were both facing the proper directions. My desk was facing Northwest, which is my personal Health direction. My office mate's desk was turned to face Southwest, which is her overall best direction. Jennifer found us a midcentury white "mod" bookcase for all our books, a vintage white armoire for storage, and brought in some additional task lighting. She went with a "New Englandy" blue carpet, which set off all the white furniture beautifully. She also painted our Northwest wall metallic copper, which pumped up our "Helpful People" sector. Metal is the element of this sector, and she wanted to attract the right people to our business. Jennifer also added a large money plant and several hanging plants by the window, and some orchids and bamboo for our desks. She also brought in artwork that was tailored to our taste, with bold color. After implementing all of the changes, I have to say I felt very powerful when sitting at my desk. Powerful, and peaceful. I do a lot of writing, and it's important to have a calming environment. I loved being surrounded by color, and my desk position afforded me an amazing view out the window as well. I learned a lot from Jennifer, and I would highly recommend her as a Feng Shui Master!
