It's been our casual and fun go-to spot for a great brunch, lunch, or dinner to enjoy time together or watch a game! We know and enjoy good food and hope it will always be around! The owners are wonderful, and the staff they hire reflect that. Beyond that, what really matters to us, at least, is great food--and Hideaway delivers every time. With the ever-growing Castle Rock food scene, we admit we've strayed from time to time depending on what we're looking for (fine dining, etc.), but we always come back to Hideaway when we want consistently good food, friendly staff, and welcoming owners. We've never had a bad meal. Unfortunately, that's hard to say about other comparable places in the area we have tried (but to each their own). Best onion rings we've tried anywhere (chicken tenders, fish tacos, burgers, sandwiches, salads, appetizers, the Hideaway Signature Pasta--the list goes on), but honestly, everything on the menu we've ordered has been delicious, and every time we go, it takes us a while to decide since everything is so good! Hideaway has become something of a standard we compare to other similar establishments, and we look forward to dining here in the years to come!

I am hitting…read moreevery burger on the Westword best burger list and this place was next on that Sunday afternoon. Simplicity at its best. First of all, Mindy was my bartender and gave me flawless service, along with a great smile and background stories of the place and the patrons. She made my visit so much better. There wasn't any background music during my visit, but one could listen to Billy's (regular/legend in town) stories all day long. He chatted with a bunch of people who just came up to his table, and talked with Nancy at the bar in between. Small town charm at its best. Lots of topping sauces, but you didn't really need it for the burger. Great as it was, and I ordered the double. Option for pickles and onions that come on the side. They had Voodoo Ranger in the bottle for me also. I got the whole lowdown of the four owners of the place over 78 years (the present one even stopped by), and, if I wasn't told by Mindy, there is history ALL over the walls. Cool bar setup, with a good-sized dining room. The place was like a merging of a diner and a small town bar, and was absolutely perfect. Don't forget. No French fries offered, and cash only! The next time I head to Colorado Springs, I might have to change my way down or back up to get this thing again, and experience the place again. The burger was incredible, I highly recommend the place overall, and see you there...

We stopped into Bud's for a quick lunch after hiking Devil's Head Lookout earlier that morning…read more Sedalia is right on the way back from Rampart Range, and Bud's is the obvious stop. It was busy, which tracks for a place that's been a fixture in town since 1948. 78 years of doing the same thing. The menu is short. It's a hamburger. You choose one patty or two, and whether you want cheese. That's the whole decision tree. There are no fries; everything comes with a bag of chips. I respect a place that knows exactly what it is and doesn't pretend otherwise. Prices are reasonable. $9.25 for a double cheeseburger is hard to argue with in 2026. Bring cash, though. They don't take cards. The burger tastes like something you'd make yourself at a backyard grilling party. Nothing fancy about it. Nothing wrong with it either. Taken on its own, the food is a solid 3 star effort. But 3 star food doesn't mean I wouldn't come back. Bud's isn't really selling you a burger, it's selling you a burger at Bud's, and after a morning on the trail that's a pretty good deal. Would come back.

And, bonus you do too. First, The Vintage Moose makes the most of their small space - they even have a back room with a few games, open windows and beyond that, a small patio. Super chill. We laughed reading all the cool signs and stickers from all around. Lots to enjoy as you partake in an adult bevvie. Just one guy running the bar and he was amazing. It has that classic local bar feel - relaxed, welcoming, and full of personality. Most of the crowd seemed to be locals, aside from us and a couple of other tables grabbing a later dinner. That's usually a good sign. The drink selection had plenty of options, and the atmosphere made it easy to settle in and stay awhile. We kept it simple with a few neat pours of whiskey and enjoyed soaking in the vibe. We didn't try the food this visit, but after seeing what was coming out of the kitchen, we'll definitely be back to do that next time. Downtown Loveland can be described with one word: SCIZOPHRENIC. I am 100% serious…read more Example: I walked downtown for dinner and drinks one evening out of my poorly lit neighborhood over the train tracks and stopped to take a peak down 4th St and what do I see; not much. The Aims college building's awning is lit up but empty, the Sports Station's parking lot is full but it sounds quiet since it's too cool to eat outside and some of the buildings seem just sad. Wait, did a tumble weed just blow by and I swear I just heard a wolf howl! It's quiet, cool and nearly no one is on the street or side walks and it's a FRIDAY NIGHT! What's going on? Did I not get the evacuation notice because I was drinking beer in the tub in the basement before I left? I continued on to see what I could find. After doing a full patrol of downtown I ended up almost back where I started when I discovered a new bar: Burke's Tavern. Every place down town was empty this night including this place except for the bartender and his two friends sitting at the bar. This place is small and actually used to be a place called Jazz Alley. I ordered a beer and after making some friendly small talk I sat down near the door and zoned out on a tv near by while the juke box played random selections. A few people floated in and I downed a few more beers then decide to play DJ on the Juke. Behold the greatest Juke box on the planet! This thing is hooked up to the internet and can down load any slice of music you can think of! After feeding it bills and then sliding my credit card I had selected my favorite play list. Also, if you are too impatient you can pay a little more cash to jump a head with your selection! When I was done I turned around to my beer to see that the place had started filling up. I looked at my watch to see that it was getting late and I was kind of surprised. Loveland doesn't have too much going on at night. After having a few more beers and socializing with a few people I got the message quick. This place is a slow starter and the bulk of its customers are late night shift workers and bartenders themselves from the downtown bars that close early. This bar stays open later than all the others and everyone who wants to blow of there steam from everyone blowing there steam off on them come here. Most of the people were wait staff and some of the others were night shift workers from IBM an a few other random places. So, if its last call and everything is shutting down head to Burke's because that is where everyone will be in an hour after counting the till, mopping the floor and locking the door and if you beat them you can DJ for the whole place until close.
