Good food, friendly tentative waitresses. Huge portions and good prices. We stayed at the hotel for quite a few days, and really didn't need to look elsewhere for food. Very happy and will be back next year for race. Thanks y'all! read more

Terrible casino cigarette smoke stinking restaurant. Ordered just a basic 2 eggs toast cottage cheese crisp bacon. Small eggs. Good wheat toast. Cottage cheese standard. Then thy gave me old cold greasy bacon. Sat and waited for bacon that finally came after I had already eaten my eggs. Nice staff but the cigarette smoke was BAD. read more

Friday Night: Prime Rib special was great! However, be there early, at 5 pm to make sure they have enough

The Stage Stop has been a standing tradition for my family. Years of driving from Reno to Las Vegas and we've found this to be the perfect breakfast stop. They offer your traditional breakfast fare, along with my favorite, the CFS skillet, which is a biscuit and home fries with bites of country fried steak mixed in, covered with scrambled eggs and gravy. The waitresses are always friendly and helpful with the kids and the prices are competitive. My only wish is that they'd invest more time in cleaning the floors and numerous antiques around the restaurant. There are some great decorations that make you reminisce about the wild west, but all suffer from a lack of TLC. read more

I think when it comes to Tonopah, you're coming for the history and the experience. Not the food. There's nothing bad about this place. It's clean, it's got really cool decor, and Tonopah prides itself on its history. Food is eh. It is what it is. You've had it a million times and you'll have it a million more. I had eggs, hash browns, and toast. I mean, really, what am I reviewing here? Maybe I should tried something a little more exciting but I was probably saving my stomach from larger meals that I'll be eating on the road. I'd be happy to come back here in the future and try something else. I have a feeling there's probably some great specials that are unforgettable. But for right now, A-OK sounds about right. read more

Stage Stop Cafe - Maybe people who order this breakfast should be banned from Yelp? - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Tonopah, Nevada

This restaurant is one of the few places in town to grab a sit down meal, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner and offers some daily specials. Located inside the Ramada Inn Tonopah Station, you walk through the small hotel casino to access the restaurant. Inside, there are several tables, booths, and counter seating in this carpeted dining area. I've had several good meals here on my trips through Tonopah. The food here is the basic diner menu, but very tasty especially after a good day of visiting ghost towns and mining attractions. The breakfast here is good. I usually order the Corned Beef Hash (with eggs, hash browns, bacon, and buttered wheat toast & Knotts preserves) and a bottomless cup of coffee. I was given tabasco sauce for the eggs. The service here is good. The waitress fills my coffee cup at the table very often. For lunch and dinner, the menu offers appetizers (chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks), sandwiches, salads, comfort foods (country fried steak, seafood platter), and desserts (cakes, pies). This restaurant does not sell alcoholic beverages, but you can order alcoholic beverages from the casino saloon to have with your meal. read more

Stopped in for breakfast on our way from Phoenix to Carson City. Ut's located in the Tonopah Station so I didn't know what to expect from a Casino restaurant. The service was friendly and the Christmas decorations were fun but the highlight was the steak and eggs. I actually complimented the cook because these were the best steak and eggs I've had in a long time! Everything was cooked exactly as ordered and tasted delicious! read more

Stopped in for a veggie omelette. Service was prompt and polite. Food was good and portion size was just. Coffee was average but the decore and atmosphere was very quaint and emobied the mining and rustic homestead history of Tonopah. Would definitely recommend for breakfast if staying at the hotel or even just passing thru the area. read more

The waiter was rude and the food was bad and I couldn't order some food and was just bad.

Food was pretty decent as was the service. The ambience was about what you'd expect from a diner/cafe in a western themed casino in rural Nevada. The biggest draw back was them not having an entrance/exit that didn't require you to walk through the smoke filled casino. Not a giant issue for me, but the kids really noticed and complained. read more

This was our first stop on our two-hour-long quest for dinner in Tonopah that (spoiler alert!) ended at the McDonald's. We had some trouble finding it; it's in the Ramada, Tonopah Station casino. Came here in hope of a salad; being mostly vegetarian, it's usually a safe bet. All of the salads had meat. The only vegetarian options were griddle items, a vegetarian omelette (breakfast is served all day), or a grilled cheese. Paired with the fact that the entire place smelled like cigarette smoke, and two of the three light bulbs above our table were burned out, we decided it was best to walk out. At least our waitress was friendly, which we soon learned was a lot to be thankful for, based on our even worse experience at El Marques down the road. read more

This driving to Vegas business is giving me flashbacks of my regular forced trips down the Gorge as a kid. You throw a giant river to one side of the road and the terrain is identical. This place might be the flashbackiest, Old West theme (tho this place may be original to the period), breakfast all day, burgers, type II diner waitresses (pants, ponytail, still calls you honey), spaghetti of doubtful authenticity. I, of course, had the burger. It was a boilerplate rendition of the roadside classic. Fortunately, we brought a foreigner along and her wide-eyed fascination with the played out, slightly run down earnest tackiness washed away all the memories of those trips to Milton God Damned Freewater. If you're in Tonopah, stop here. Super bonus: they're part of a business that has a laundromat. read more

My wife and I stayed at Tonopah Station during our trip through Tonopah and really enjoyed our breakfast at the Stage Stop the following morning. I had a country omelette (or something along those lines) - it was basically a Denver Omelette with that white, country style gravy on top. My wife had a vegetarian omelette. The food was absolutely delicious - I can only assume that the eggs for the omelettes were locally grown because they actually had -taste-. Every spoonful was a delight. Even more surprising were the hash browns - usually the "loose" style has browns aren't to my taste, being like giant greasy haystacks of shredded potato on the plate - the stuff they provided here was amazing and as much a star of the meal as the omelettes themselves. Both of us ate every bite. Wonderfully crisp, savoury and just enough oil for them to have a fried feel without being heavy, bland and greasy. Tonopah is a long way from Vegas, but I almost want to drive out just for one of these omelettes. read more

Old fashioned cafe, diner or a truck stop fare. Simple but good. Service is decent. Made it brunch today as it's the one place that serves breakfast all day. Omelettes were good but the veggie omelette was a bit wet with the veggie ingredients. French toast and pancakes were great. Have stopped before and done dinner here too. It's ok. Like I said it's good ole fashioned diner or truck stop fare. read more

Stopped here on our drive back from Reno. Love this quaint little town and its historical offerings. We loved the way the café was decorated - lots of mining history on display. Menu has a ton of different offerings, which are all typical diner items. Exactly why we came! Waitress was really friendly and spent the time to tell us a little history of the town. Got the chicken fajitas, which were awesome. They didn't skimp on the chicken at all and the fried onions and peppers were done nicely. Twas a tad bit greasy, but hell, it's diner food! My boyfriend ordered the Hawaiian melt, which he did not like. It was pineapple, ham, and cream cheese on sour dough. Really odd combination. I see what they are getting at, but I think this one needs a rethink. read more

Better than most restaurants in rural Nevada, though that isn't saying much. Aside from Steaks and burgers, everything is Southern fried food. Best to stick to the burgers. read more

Steak was over cooked, dry and flavorless for $18. The steak at the Mexican restaurant is sooo much better. Been here for two week with another month to go and will not be going back here.. husbands burger was also bland and dry. They only had three customers so it wasn't due to being busy. Staff was as super friendly but big enough to tolerate the food. read more

Inside the Tonopah Station Casino, BEWARE This is a Smoking Casino so be prepared for the cigarette smell‼ Food is mehhhh I had pork chops for dinner and they were thin and way over cooked! This was just a bad experience for me and my husband. He ordered a chef salad with chicken and the eggs were green! He sent them back and the waitress told him they all came that way, explaining they were prepped that way - just over boiled. And the tomatoes under ripe. The whole salad -- blah. And my soup, navy bean out of a can tasteless. White dinner rolls, where's the butter. And, while your at it, restaurant managers, slap some paint on the walls, please!!!! read more

Stage Stop Cafe - Green eggs -- where's the ham Dr Suess? This was in a chef's salad, after eggs were returned for 2nd time. Yech! - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Tonopah, Nevada

This was pretty much typical diner type food. We stopped for a late breakfast before hitting the road.. The decor was period, so it seemed old. Could have been a little cleaner tho. Ketchup stains on the ceiling. The veggie omelet I had was standard, peppers onions mushrooms and tomato with cheddar. The hash browns were nice and crispy. The English muffin was dripping in butter though. My husband had the 2 eggs, sausage patties and biscuits and gravy. He said it was pretty good and the biscuits were fresh. The service was quick and friendly. read more

We have tried eating at the Pittman restaurant several times while passing through or staying in Tonopah, but have had trouble getting seated (no host in sight), or getting food (ignored by server), so the Stage Stop Cafe is our place to go from now on. SAD! I'm all about supporting small and independent businesses, especially in areas that need our support. I just traveled through here this past Saturday from Oakland to Las Vegas. We stopped here as the sun was going down and thought about staying overnight. After what we experienced, we decided to drive 60 miles more to Beatty. My advice, take the extra time and travel to Beatty. We were seated quickly and friendly by the manager. The waitress took forever but I understand she has a big party next door. Our order taken but not offered anything to drink. We waited 45 minutes with no updates. The manager even kept looking at us. I kept an eye on the order tickets at the kitchen; all of them were process but not ours. I asked the manager to come over, explained the situation; but all he said was that its coming. Then our waitress reaches into her apron and puts a ticket up. Hmm... I said if there are no tickets, that means all the orders have been processed so where are our orders? All the other tables had their food, even those that came behind us. After a long day of traveling, we were done. We left. In a town that has many businesses boarded up and with very few stopping by, I would think they would do everything they could to provide decent service. Now in the server's defense, she did have a very large table to take care of. So the manager should have let her focus on them and have someone else focus on the other customers. But we did not feel welcomed at all. The damage is done. We are not going back. This is the second time we had rude service from these guys. The first time, they overcharged us and said we didn't pay the bill and ran after us!! If they don't want to welcome us, then put a sign out so we can avoid you. We both will be happy. I say go to Beatty, NV and stay there. Folks were friendly, welcoming, the area nice. The small casino/restaurant there is great. We ended up at their local MacDonalds where they young guys were helpful and welcoming. Listen up Stage Stop, or your decor of old mining will resemble the rest of your town - closed. I really want business to survive but you all don't seem to realize how a business works. Distressed areas have to room to play the "card." My finger's on it and I hate to play it, but... read more

This is definitely an interesting place for those that aren't accustom to these small towns. This is a hotel/casino/and restaurant all in one building. It is also a sort of museum with a lot of stuff to look at the second you walk in the door. Once you get to the restaurant the food smells good and as I walked past other tables it looked good too. It has a diner feel. All the servers are friendly and a lot of people seem to know each other which I am sure is typical of small towns. I got the chicken fried steak, which was the special. The food had a lot of flavor. I can imagine that if I am in the area again I will eat here again. read more

This is one of the better places in Tonopah to go to. I've had really bad experiences with the Pittman and Cisco's. I prefer to go here. Their food isn't the best, but it's not the worst. It's hard to get really fresh food out here, and I understand that. They do very well to get decent food and serve it well. My experiences with the waitresses have been phenomenal. They haven't messed up the order once and served the food in the order it's supposed to go in. The food tastes good as well. I normally get the hamburgers, but I've had the tuna melt as well. They've been really good, or at least, I'm satisfied and I'm a foodie. I know some may shaking their heads, but for what I can get in Tonopah. It's one of the best options. My friends have had undesirable things in their food at Cisco's and at Pittman, I got completely different food than I had wanted. THe waitress wouldn't listen to me at all. SHe talked over me and walked away when I was talking. I've never had that problem here. It isn't all good, though. Their salads are decent but I can taste that they come from a bag. It doesn't take that much to grab fresh produce slice and dice and throw it all together. In fact, it's cheaper to do that. I say that with almost all restaurants however. Almost no one does it. THat's why it's not that big of a deal. read more

Crap food, dirty and bad service. This place has gone down hill over the years and needs New management and a complete makeover. Would not stop here again and would not recommend it for anyone that did not want to get sick after stopping for travel food. read more

Food was fair. I had the Taco Salad and it came in an impressively big flour tortilla bowl but it was too heavy on the taco seasoned beef and skimpy on the salad greens. Some might find this desire-able, but if I had it again, I'd ask for more salad and less meat. The oil from the beef coated the few pieces of lettuce that it had, making it a bit distasteful. I had to brush my teeth to get rid of the oily flavor in my mouth and it turned my toothbrush red! My travel partner had the Western Burger and I stole a few fries which were sinfully delicious. I had a bite of the burger and felt that I would have been happier to have ordered that. We ordered the food to go and they included almost everything we could possibly have needed... Knives, forks, sauces, salt and pepper and napkins. We could have used a few more napkins as the burger was very messy. It took only about 5 minutes to get our order ready and the waitress was very pleasant. The restaurant, like the hotel and casino, had antiques all over. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. The breakfast menu looked fine- all the usual items- so we will probably eat there again tomorrow morning. You'll find it to the right of the front exit, through the small casino area. read more

Landed here in the RV Park during a snow storm. We did not want to unhook the tow vehicle, so we ate several meals here. Really good food. Chicken fried steak was good with great cream gravy. Breakfast was great too - the Farmers Skillet had biscuit with more good cream gravy. The pancakes were tall and fluffy. All eggs cooked to order perfect. The food came out fast and perfect - crispy bacon. We ate lunch also - the hot pastrami And Swiss cheese on rye was yummy. So was the BLT sandwich. The desserts were yummy - pecan pie, cheese cake, chocolate ice box pie. All good stuff. Service was good, but seems to be an ordeal if you want a beer or mix drink with dinner. Still would eat here again read more

Solid breakfast when passing through Tonopah. We got a little turned around trying to locate it - it's inside the casino. I had the pancake sandwich, which provided me with my favorite breakfast combination of pancakes, eggs, and bacon. Staff was efficient and friendly. read more

Don't go here if you are looking for anything but reheated frozen food with no seasonings added. I don't remember instant mashed potatoes ever being so bland and glue like. The service is ridiculous. We watched the server flick something off of a plate with a knife then serve the food. Apparently hoping for iced tea refills is also way to much to ask for. Not a lot of choices here. Go to Burger King. I really wish I could give them less than one star.
