M sister and I ate dinner at the Stage Left Grille before seeing The Wiz at The Fox Theatre. Glad we got there early because they ended up with a waitlist by the time we were done with dinner. The atmosphere was so unique, like a 50's diner with an upscale flare. The service was great and the food was even better. I had the Cobb salad which was large enough for 2 people (my leftovers made for a great lunch the next day) and sis had the grilled chicken sandwich with bacon jam on a pretzel bun with shoestring fries - YUM! All the servers were dressed in attire promoting the performance, The Wiz. All definitely be back to eat prior to my next visit to The Fox.

This is a little gem connected to the Fox Theater. It is only open prior to theater shows and you need to plan your visit accordingly. There will be a line before the doors open, I suggest arriving at least 15 minutes prior to opening. Service is slightly different here. When the doors open, they will fill all of the tables and then servers take all of the orders before turning them in to the kitchen. You are going to want to be in the first wave of diners because if you don't get a seat initially, you are waiting for the entire dining room to place an order, eat, and for patrons to leave before you'll be able to get a seat. The space is classic diner themed with theater posters dotted on the walls. It can get loud. They serve a limited menu. We ordered soft pretzel, and a burger with fries. All were great. They also have themed drinks for the theatrical show that is happening. I had the Diamonds are Forever (blackberry mule) and it was fantastic. The servers have everything down to a science and attempt to chat about the show happening as well. This is a great little spot prior to a show, give it a try!

I didn't have high expectations when I first came in, but we were hungry before our show at the Fox and there weren't many options. However, I was pleasantly surprised on the quality of the burger and fries! The service was fairly quick and it has your typical diner vibes. This will be my go-to if I need food before a show at the Fox!

Creating the perfectly toasted marshmallow coating on the S'more Shake...

We went to Stage Left Grille before a show at The Fox Theatre. The grille does not accept reservations, and we arrived just in time for the preshow rush. We didn't have to wait too long to be seated, because we were lucky to get a seat at the bar. I would definitely recommend the double hamburger - It was delicious. We didn't order any sides, but the onion rings looked amazing. There are several specialty shakes on the menu. They have fun coatings on the top edge of the glass, like toasted marshmallow on the S'more Shake. The bar staff was really attentive and nice. Our dinner orders were taken promptly and the food came quick. I didn't know too much about this restaurant before we went there for dinner and I was pleasantly surprised with the food and service at Stage Left Grille. I will definitely return to the Stage Left Grille.

Service was amazing and the food and drinks were great! I'll definitely be back! I highly recommend the taco salad and the chicken bites!

Fun menus and specialty drinks and dessert for the different shows at The Fabulous Fox

A perfect spot to grab a bite to eat right before an evening at The Fabulous Fox! The food is wonderful and the milkshakes are just magical! It gets super busy fast, so if you have tickets for a 7:30 show, make sure to be at Stage Left by 5:30. I actually prefer to get there a little before 5:00 and wait for them to unlock the doors when they open for the evening.

So I was looking for a brunch place for before the Fox Theater show on Sunday and this was one of the closest one. I'm so glad I read the reviews before I got there because there was a line when I got there a couple minutes before it opened and I was nervous about not being able to get a table. Which as a person dining alone they do not sit you at a table or booth but you can choose a seat at the bar or another close counter with stool seating. The bar was fine, I chose to sit at the end so I didn't have to sit next anyone on both sides. First I order a mimosa, not sure if was one the menu but they said they could make it. It was bit off. As if it was a bit fermented. I didn't finish all of it. For my meal I ordered the Piggy Sandwich on Everything Bagel Bread. It had a generous amount of bacon. It was simple but good. Would recommend. After the mimosa I decided to go with a different drink and the Hades, inspired by the show I was going to see was pretty good. It had pineapple and cranberry I believe. The juices tasted fresh. Over all it was a good experience and the staff was nice.

Ask the Community - Stage Left Grille

Do they accept reservations or how hard is it to accommodate a large party (9) preside if we get there around 5:30?

Even though they do not accept reservations they made sure my party of 6 was fed and in the show on time! They split us into 2 table to accommodate us. Definitely worth the wait for the food and service! Ask for Tori

I've been meaning to eat southwestern-themed breakfast food since I saw the legendary "chorizo and…read moreeggs" scene from the movie Midnight Run. The opportunity finally presented itself when a member of my old man's bicycle group suggested this place for a Friday afternoon lunch. I was more than happy to step away from my responsibilities for an hour or two, and the only thing that would have made it better is if I'd been able to disappoint a group of people standing in line, like at the DMV. I'd been as far south on McCausland as a shopping center near the intersection with Manchester, for a drug test for a job, which I'll have you know I passed with flying colors. Consulting Google Maps on the way to the restaurant, I was surprised to see that it's on (er, kinda on) Southwest Avenue. Does it serve diner fare with a southwestern flair due to its address, or is that a mere matter of coincidence? According to a guy I know, who knows several people who work there (don't be jealous), it's the latter. Certainly, you wouldn't put a restaurant here for the ambience. This looks like the kind of place where you'd ditch a stolen car after using the backseat for a fried chicken dinner that somehow involved ketchup (why?) and an assignation with a lady of the evening. If you live nearby, I guess it's not off the beaten path, but who lives here? The menu is a veritable plethora of riches. You could have breakfast food, or you could have lunch food, even if you couldn't bring yourself to roll out of bed until after 10:30 AM. It's downright anxiety inducing! I toyed with the idea of a torta or a burger, and I also saw that they had milkshakes. I ended up going with breakfast food, because I love breakfast food and I don't get it as often. Specifically, I went with something called the Rocket to Bacon Land. It's a bacon and goat cheese omelet with arugula and caramelized onions, served with home fries and your choice of bread. I could have gone with various kinds of toast or a sopapilla. I went with a biscuit. It was amazing! It looked like something your mom would make with Bisquick when she's feeling especially lazy, but it tasted great. It may have been better than the biscuits at Popeyes--which is pretty much the highest compliment you can pay a food item. The omelet was also pretty good. I appreciated the generous helping of eggs, which must have run them, thanks to a certain individual who shall not be named. It was definitely an egg-forward preparation. The arugula didn't seem to add much, as I suspected, and I don't know that the bacon or onions were present in sufficient quantities as to be truly dominant. The goat cheese was definitely a choice. It was warm and soft (ahem), but not melty the way you'd expect cheese in an omelet to be. I liked it, but I don't know if I liked it as much as a regular ol' Denver omelet. I'm a close-minded individual. I buy vanilla ice cream for the taste. Would I feel the same way, to varying degrees, about everything else on the menu? There's only one way to find out.

Boooooooo! Lol. I'm not a huge fan of restaurants that serve a la carte. But whatevs. I started with the Charleston drink. It was good and strong; came out in a fancy box w a lil smoke. It was semi dramatic, lol. We decided to order the collards and spinach artichoke dip to start with. It was good. It gave spinach and artichoke dip for the most part. The seasoned saltine crackers that accompanied that were not my favorite, but not the worst, & we had to ask for more to finish the dip (we were unexpectedly charged for them -_____-). I wish it was pita bread or pita chips instead, but I guess the crackers are Lucy's special touch. We finally decide on food; she got the catfish po boy, I got the brisket sandwich. She said her sandwich was FIRE but I didn't try it so I can't speak to that unfortunately. My brisket sandwich was ok; it had queso on it and it was kinda cold which was wack. The sandwich was a decent size for sure, I just could have went for a different bread personally. The ciabatta bread overpowered the actual meat. I asked for bbq sauce to dip and eat pieces of the brisket. I want to come back and try the Brussels and catfish po boy myself.
