    Themed Drinks

This is a little gem connected to the Fox Theater. It is only open prior to theater shows and you need to plan your visit accordingly. There will be a line before the doors open, I suggest arriving at least 15 minutes prior to opening. Service is slightly different here. When the doors open, they will fill all of the tables and then servers take all of the orders before turning them in to the kitchen. You are going to want to be in the first wave of diners because if you don't get a seat initially, you are waiting for the entire dining room to place an order, eat, and for patrons to leave before you'll be able to get a seat. The space is classic diner themed with theater posters dotted on the walls. It can get loud. They serve a limited menu. We ordered soft pretzel, and a burger with fries. All were great. They also have themed drinks for the theatrical show that is happening. I had the Diamonds are Forever (blackberry mule) and it was fantastic. The servers have everything down to a science and attempt to chat about the show happening as well. This is a great little spot prior to a show, give it a try!

I didn't have high expectations when I first came in, but we were hungry before our show at the Fox and there weren't many options. However, I was pleasantly surprised on the quality of the burger and fries! The service was fairly quick and it has your typical diner vibes. This will be my go-to if I need food before a show at the Fox!

We went to Stage Left Grille before a show at The Fox Theatre. The grille does not accept reservations, and we arrived just in time for the preshow rush. We didn't have to wait too long to be seated, because we were lucky to get a seat at the bar. I would definitely recommend the double hamburger - It was delicious. We didn't order any sides, but the onion rings looked amazing. There are several specialty shakes on the menu. They have fun coatings on the top edge of the glass, like toasted marshmallow on the S'more Shake. The bar staff was really attentive and nice. Our dinner orders were taken promptly and the food came quick. I didn't know too much about this restaurant before we went there for dinner and I was pleasantly surprised with the food and service at Stage Left Grille. I will definitely return to the Stage Left Grille.

Service was amazing and the food and drinks were great! I'll definitely be back! I highly recommend the taco salad and the chicken bites!

A perfect spot to grab a bite to eat right before an evening at The Fabulous Fox! The food is wonderful and the milkshakes are just magical! It gets super busy fast, so if you have tickets for a 7:30 show, make sure to be at Stage Left by 5:30. I actually prefer to get there a little before 5:00 and wait for them to unlock the doors when they open for the evening.

So I was looking for a brunch place for before the Fox Theater show on Sunday and this was one of the closest one. I'm so glad I read the reviews before I got there because there was a line when I got there a couple minutes before it opened and I was nervous about not being able to get a table. Which as a person dining alone they do not sit you at a table or booth but you can choose a seat at the bar or another close counter with stool seating. The bar was fine, I chose to sit at the end so I didn't have to sit next anyone on both sides. First I order a mimosa, not sure if was one the menu but they said they could make it. It was bit off. As if it was a bit fermented. I didn't finish all of it. For my meal I ordered the Piggy Sandwich on Everything Bagel Bread. It had a generous amount of bacon. It was simple but good. Would recommend. After the mimosa I decided to go with a different drink and the Hades, inspired by the show I was going to see was pretty good. It had pineapple and cranberry I believe. The juices tasted fresh. Over all it was a good experience and the staff was nice.

Great spot right next to the Fabulous Fox. Excellent food, service, show tunes, and AMAZING milkshakes. Drop in for a great bite! You will not be disappointed!! Kid-friendly too!! The French dip melt is fantastic!

Do they accept reservations or how hard is it to accommodate a large party (9) preside if we get there around 5:30?

Even though they do not accept reservations they made sure my party of 6 was fed and in the show on time! They split us into 2 table to accommodate us. Definitely worth the wait for the food and service! Ask for Tori

I tried the Pretty in Pink cocktail, which was well-balanced and enjoyable, though the pour felt a bit light for a martini. Normally one martini gives me a slight buzz, but that wasn't the case here. We started with the onion rings as an appetizer. The portion size was generous, and they were tasty overall, though they had a tangy seasoning dusted on top that seemed a little odd at first. Surprisingly, it still worked. I ordered the Good Burger, and it was honestly one of the most flavorful smash burgers I've ever had. I was genuinely impressed. I got the sauce on the side since it also came with the onion rings, and unfortunately, I wasn't a fan of it -- it was a bit runny and lacked flavor. My friend ordered the vegan burger and absolutely loved it. The inside of the restaurant was cute and had a great atmosphere, though there was an unusual smell indoors, so I was very thankful we were able to grab one of the outdoor tables. Outdoor seating is pretty limited, though, so keep that in mind if you prefer sitting outside.

We were initially seated in the side room with a large industrial fan blowing so hard that it was moving the menus off the table. We waited for the waitress to return so we could request a different table, but she never came back, so we moved ourselves to another empty table away from the fan. She seemed unhappy about the move and told us we might have to relocate again because they were expecting a busy day. Honestly, the restaurant was empty, and we would have been finished long before any rush started -- which we were. I asked for ketchup with my burger, and it didn't arrive until after I had already finished eating. Overall, the service was very poor. Unfortunately, the food was also extremely salty -- and we're people who normally enjoy salt. I had the Farmhouse Burger with Brussels sprouts and mac and cheese, while my wife ordered the steak and fries cooked medium well. The steak came out medium rare, and both her fries and my burger and Brussels sprouts were overly salted. The one bright spot was the mac and cheese, which we took to go. My daughter tried some and said it was the best she'd ever had. To top it off, our bill came to an even $100 with tip, and all we had were waters and the items mentioned above. We had been wanting to try Retreat for quite a while, so this experience was very disappointing. Between the poor service and underwhelming food, we probably won't be coming back.

I recently stopped by after an appointment in STL. It was right at lunch time and it was also, opening day for the Cardinals. So when I entered, the line to order was already long. I went with a Double and swapped out the American Cheese for Pepper Jack. For my side, I tried their Salt&Pepper Onion Rings. After ordering, I took my number stick and took a seat at the bar. Once seated, the bartender welcomed me and I ordered a draft beer. I barely had completed my Wordle and my burger basket was being slid in front of me. Before taking my first bite, I admired the crisp edges and actually ran my finger around them. My first bite was heaven. It proved to me that all a good smash burger needs is; ketchup, mustard, onion and pickles. The Onion Rings were made in house and the simple seasoning of Salt & Pepper made them a winner. While dining at the bar, I learned a new trick. If you're going to be sitting at the bar to enjoy your smash burger, you can order it from the bartender. That's right, no standing in line to order, you can go straight to the bar. Great staff. They all hustle and provide friendly and professional service.

She also didn't know how to make a drink, with that being the case why are you allowed to make any cocktails. If you have a limited cocktail menu but an extensive bar selection you would think their cocktail specials were on point. Nooooo. The BF tried a margarita special and it was awful. I had my first dinner of my stay at Olive + Oak, and it blew me away from the moment I laid my eyes on it. From the unsuspecting street outside, the giant windows glow with the warm, sparkling light from within. An elegant dining room with a beautiful bar and a good amount of hustle and bustle. I felt like I was at an upscale New Orleans joint. Very cozy. Service was just as beautiful. Our server was extremely nice, new the menu backwards and forwards, and rattled off the nightly specials without hesitation. And on top of all of that, when we were getting some stuff to-go, she threw in more bread for us! You can't train that level of service. That's just a good person. Onto the food. We started off with the Blue Crab Gratin (calabrian chili, celery + pretzel bread). This was ooey, gooey, cheesy, delicious, had a fair amount of crab in it, had a nice little kick, and the sliced, crunchy pretzel bread dippers were exquisite. Something seasonal that isn't on their menu anymore, we ordered an Okonomiyaki, which is a savory Japanese pancake, basically, covered in sauce. Wow, this thing was done well. Very reminiscent of the authentic thing I've had in Japan. Very nice. Another dish that isn't on the menu anymore, the Catfish dish. It was slightly Asian and on top of some sort of risotto rice. I can't remember exactly, but I do remember that it was very well cooked, had a nice char. An eclectic dish that came together very nicely. I also got to try some of the Rabbit Crepe (port wine braised rabbit, blueberry, fennel, arugula + kenny's bleu gouda crepe). Some people might shudder at the idea of eating rabbit. Those people need to grow up. Rabbit is one of the most succulent, delicious meats out there, and in this wonderful flavor combination, in a crepe. This chef is genius. I could have downed two of these things. We finished off the night with the recommended Cloud Cake (vanilla chiffon cake, coconut pastry cream, coconut + whipped cream icing). This thing was de-ca-dent. A nice, thicc sponge, a very coconuty cream, and a whipped icing with lots of coconut pulp in it. So heavenly. Overall, my socks were blown off. Not only does St. Louis have good food, this was a better meal than I had in Nashville and Kansas City. Who would have guessed. I would love to come back.

And then, someone came by and got him his water cup ready. We're used to great service and wait staff being kind to our cute kid, but the service and kindness was exceptional here toward him! Our server was Hope, and she was astounding, along with the other servers taking care of our table. We ordered off the kid's menu: silver dollar pancakes with a side of berries. My husband ordered the Pork Steak Benedict with fresh squeezed orange juice, and I ordered the English Breakfast with drip coffee Not only was the atmosphere very calm, but the entire dining experience was just so pleasant. We loved our food, and we're stuffed immediately lol. The benedict had a great flavor: smokey, sweet, tangy and the eggs were perfectly poached. The English Breakfast was everything I dreamed it would be: snappy sausage, plump mushrooms, seasoned baked beans - so absolutely delicious! We loved our experience here, the Four Seasons Hotel is beautiful so lounging after our meal was great. There was also a beautiful view of the Arch.

Upon arrival, I was met with courteous and professional hostesses. I was directed to my table and the view was amazing! The skyline of Downtown STL was beautiful to see as I enjoyed my meal. After being seated, you are quickly offered your choice of water. I ordered sparkling water, and then ordered my drink. I ordered the Lychee Cooler, one of the delicious mocktail options. The lychee nicely balanced out the grapefruit juice. For appetizers, I ordered the Sticky Cauliflower. It was delicious. The Korean-style glaze had a tangy, umami flavor, and the cauliflower was cooked perfectly. For the main dish, I ordered the Beef Wellington with a side of truffle fries. Wow! What an excellent meal! The steak was juicy, tender, and delectable. The puff pastry was flaky, light, and the perfect amount of crunch. The mashed potatoes on the side were smooth and creamy. The side of truffle fries was also immaculate. They were topped with Parmesan and had the perfect crunch. These were definitely some of the best truffle fries I've had in a long time. For dessert, I ordered a scoop of the seasonal sorbet, which was raspberry! The sorbet was refreshing and tart, a lovely way to end the evening. While it was expensive, my experience here was worth it. The outside views, the excellent service, and the amazing food definitely have me looking forward to my next visit.
