Vintique Mall - Western and farmhouse vibes meet here in Nina's booth

Vintique Mall

This is one of those charming local businesses that make the town of Taylor special. I read through…read morethe over 20+ reviews before coming here and if you leave the business owner a one star review, you'll definitely hear back lol. The shop is a collaboration of numerous antique collectors under one roof, and I have to admit the selection is quite impressive. I was very impressed with their collection of records, which were of the collectible type not like the usual junk you see in Goodwill. I found records here that you can't even find in record stores. Just when you thought you'd seen everything inside, there's a door that leads to the back which leads you into another large space that is non-air conditioned. Everything here is very well laid out and the prices aren't ridiculous. There are so many things to see here that I decided to let the pictures below tell the story. This place is definitely worth a visit if you're visiting Taylor. You'll also be happy to know they do have a public bathroom.

Big antique mall! Large variety of vendors including a whole section for records…read more Unfortunately, I didn't find anything I liked enough to buy but I enjoyed strolling through here. A couple interesting pieces but nothing that really stood out. Almost bought a wooden wall hanging but then realized it was Hobby Lobby. There was ample space in the aisles to bring my toddler in a stroller (had my baby in a front carrier). There is a bathroom for customers. They do market days with outside vendors and free beer inside. Check their Instagram for more info. Very nice staff.

What a cool 'hidden find' in the Leander area!…read more It's a bit of a misnomer to call this a 'flea market', but that's a minor point to quibble over. Rather, this is a collection of rather eclectic shops selling mostly used or refurbished items. These range from vintage glass and antique furniture all the way to collectible baseball cards. Everyone I spoke to at one of the stores was friendly and sometimes willing to negotiate a price on an item. I look askance at some of the reviews which claim 'I didn't get a deal'. You have access to the internet, after all. Even on your smart phone. You should be able to find out if the vintage item you're looking for hasn't been cheaply reproduced at Hobby Lobby, Cost Plus or Michael's. The facility still seems to be in development, so a couple notes for folks who may visit close to when I did, in September 2017. 1) The parking lot is a very rough gravel one. Drive slowly and walk carefully, there are ankle-turning rocks here if you wear heels. 2) One of the vendors was having serious issues taking credit cards, so having cash on hand might be a good idea. 3) If you check in on Yelp, there's a free drink offer available at the food trailer. However, there's no food trailer yet - just a well-run inside snack bar. They were kind enough to honor the offer for me, but do them a favor and wait until they get a vendor in before trying to use the coupon. In sum, a definite place to visit if the antique hunting bug strikes!

A gathering of a few thrift stores, some more focused on refurbished or vintage-style furniture,…read moreand some with a wider range of vintage goods. Makes a nice trip especially if you're looking for the refurbished stuff! I'm a vintage toy collector myself so most of the pictures I took reflect that.
