Came on St. Patty's day, they have a corned beef platter special for the day before and the day of the holiday but we didn't get it. Came here with the boys early in the night because we wanted to call it quits early because of work the next day. The place was packed, bar and tables. We had to travel through people to get to the bar and the wait for beers was really long but it's expected with the sheer amount of people inside. We got our beers and it was really cheap, like $4 for a shock top. Very reasonable. We sat down when a table opened up and were able to catch the basketball game on one of the many TVs. It's a chill spot to grab a few pints and just hang out. We also had a waitress try and wait on us despite the fact that we already had drinks in hand, so they are very attentive just slow because of the busy day we came. Overall a good spot in downtown Walnut Creek to watch sports, get some food and drink beer. Reasonably priced drinks and next time I may try the food to see if the pub comes full circle. The service was horrible and slow. It took us 20 minutes to just pay our bill. We ordered the spicy beans and we got maybe 25 broken beans for $7 and when we mentioned it to our waitress she goes yeah it was served in a big basket that's why. I love Stadium Pub. My friends and I have never had an issue with service and have found the employees to be extremely pleasant. The drinks are reasonably priced and the food is good too. Along with everyone else, this is my go-to bar in Walnut Creek! It's your typical pub with all the libations you could dream of, tons of TVs, tables galore and of course, yummy bar food. The service is always kind of tough on Fridays and Saturdays because it's super busy but it's expected. It does seem though that the bartenders and servers have gotten better since the last time I have been here. It used to be ROUGH getting a drink at the bar on a weekend evening if you were a girl and some times I would be standing there for almost 5-10 minutes without even a notice. The bartenders are predominantly women and I think that has a lot to do with why the men always seem to get service or at least acknowledged first. But, it's affordable and low key so everyone always votes to go here on nights when we are out in Walnut Creek. Solid bar. Nothing to write home about but there's no cover and it gets the job done! read more

First things first with the stadium pub. Its a sports bar that caters for sports fans, if you are looking for craft beer and fancy $20 cocktails then this is not the place for you. This is where you come with your crew to watch a game, grab a pitcher of beer and a basket of wings to share, for that fact you cant knock the place. Waiters/Barmaids are all friendly and will shoot the shit with you whilst also staying professional, all in all its a good fun SPORTS bar. Unfortunately these kind of establishments are becoming harder to find due to the city of WC trying to outlaw them and only open fine dinning restaurants.... Doesn't show the UFC fights as stated on their website. I think you should remove the status of the UFC fights on your website so as to not waste people's time who come to your bar. Great place to eat, drink, and watch sports. I usually go there for UFC night (I know, how cliche) and the cover charge is usually $5 but that's fine with me. I second the comment about the chili cheese fries...superior for digestion but quite the nightmare for your drainage system. You get the occasional bar fight every now and then but nothing that the door man can't handle (he puts Hulk Hogan to shame). I will just get the bad stuff out of the way. Their website says on their $2 Tuesdays they have PBR and Sapporo. SURE! I'm all over it!! Well, apparently that is no more, because the $2 beers were Bitch Creek (not a fan, but not a fan of dark beers usually) and a pilsner, the name of which I do not recall, but sadly I wasn't a fan of that either. Not the fault of the beer, and I'm sure it's better quality than PBR, but when you have your heart set on something that goes down really smoothly, well, you know, it's hard to switch gears. Okay, now for the good stuff! They have several beers on tap, including my favorite, Blue Moon, so I did not mind spending $2.25 more for a glass to have that. I did not partake of the $2 snacks, but I can tell you that it smelled really good in there. They have TV sets all over the place, and I witnessed one of our super, super, super sweet bartenders (I wish I knew her name so I could give her a Yelp shout out!) turn on a certain baseball game at the request of one of the patrons (who also seemed to be a regular). Came here for lunch, pretty empty spot. Not very kid friendly. No crayons or kid menu. We ordered corn dogs and they weren't pink, they were white so they're either ridiculous old in freezer or not pork IDK, scary! We got mozzarella cheese sticks and they were so overdone they were hollow with no cheese. They gave us 4 more cheese sticks, not overdone... to replace the entire basket. I had a bloody mary and I had asked if it was spicy and my waitress said no, I let her know I don't do spice well. My throat was on fire and I may get heartburn. It was so spicy and I doubt it had an oz of liquor. She tried to fix it by adding more tomatoe juice and lime. She was a patient waitress, not necessarily friendly or chipper. ARNOLD palmer did not have much lemon or strong tea. Chili cheese fries, the cheese was not melted. Actual fries dont seem to be from frozen. The fire dog was not hot at all, just a bit spicy. I noticed it was dusty when we say down and our table was dirty. The furnishing is old and dumpy. The dont have a drink menu, just a full bar. That is what the waitress said. She didn't ask to box our leftovers and just took them away. Not a good place, needs to be removed for a new trendy place or a better sports bar. read more

Bartenders are terrible. There's an awesome bouncer at the door, giving out stamps and checking everyone that comes in (he is a great person, been their for years and is always super nice). And still the bartenders feel it necessary to ask u to bring up everyone who your ordering drinks for.... Game over the 3rd time it happens. Ridiculous. Oh and the attitude u get when they actually decide to take your order...not worth it... Ever! Somehow the owners think hiring only girls to work the bar will get more customers, they should probably take a personality test before you hire them. Also they don't change their cooking/ frying oil... ever... Green French fries... Seriously! No no no. I would post a pic but the place is so dingy the only light in there is coming off their TV's. I have tried to like this place so many times, it being the only real sports bar in WC, but time and time again it totally fails. Pass if you can, but if forced in definitely do not eat there, plenty of edible none food borne illness causing joints in WC. read more

People don't come here for the food but the food isn't bad; its just not noteworthy. I've come by a couple of times the past few weeks to watch some EURO 2012. The sausage I had was good, nice skin break, but they leave the pickle slice in the basket next to the bun which makes the bun soggy.. The fries were not crispy, and just so so. Chicken sandwich was passable, chicken was pounded out, thin and dry, but its all I really expect for pub food. Plus, lots of screens to watch your favorite sports. Lots and lots of TVs. Plenty of options for football viewing, especially when your team's down and you just can't take it anymore. Wings are pretty saucy, a bit piquant, and overall not too bad. if you're looking for a good place to start the night here it is! but if you're gonna end it here too then be warned they aren't too nice about asking you to leave. the PPV fights are on repeat almost 90% of the time that they order them so ill come in after they have already aired so i don't have to pay that cover fee and i can still watch the fights! sounds cheap right? well i thought id at least get to watch the main event but as some sort of sick joke they turn it off right as it starts! thats what made me drop them a star. i mean if you're gonna replay the fight anyway, why not let us watch the main event? but whatever. good side; good beer, good prices, and great crowed. Last night Tuesday, we went to Stadium Pub in Walnut Creek, this place was packed since it is a Tuesday night Happy Hour special, their ribs are very moist, tender and delicious. The meat practically fell off the bone and the marinade was just right. This bbq ribs is the best. Definitely will go back again. read more

Went there for Monday night football and had a terrific night with my girlfriend. They had a free complementary snack bar that actually had good food. The prices were fare and the staff was wonderful. I loved all the sport memorabilia on the walls and the hundreds of tv'a to stare at. Best sports bar in Walnut Creek! I was very unhappy with what happened to my wife today at the Stadium Pub. My wife has extreme limitations with regards to her diet due to health reasons to the point that she cannot eat food at restaurants. Over the last several years we have gone out to eat at many restaurants of all types and they have all let her bring her food. My wife decided to surprise our son and me and joined us after we ordered our food. So we couldn't leave to go to another place. We realize they are in business to make money, which is why we offered to pay a couple bucks for the use of the plates and silverware. However, the waitress came back and told us my wife could not eat her food at the restaurant. We find it rude and inconsiderate not to accommodate people with sever diet restrictions. Consequently, I don't see myself going back even without my wife. read more

As a transplanted Brit, this pub worked perfectly on Champion's League final day (21/5/08). A whole load of Brits and enthusiastic locals, good beer (Stella Artois on tap? Am I back in London?) and table service made this the perfect location to watch the final. read more

Well, what can I say...its super close to everything which is a plus. I have to say, the ambiance is great for the most part! I only have 2 complaints; one...the tap beers are almost ALWAYS flat which is terrible!!! And the servers/bartenders are all very nice, but very very very slow. They work on THEIR time, no one else's. it sometimes takes 15 minutes to get a beer and a hot dog when theres literally 2 customers in the entire place! So pick it up a few notches, fix the beer & I'll come all the time!! read more

I don't normally write reviews but saw a review about the cover charge and had to comment. I was at Stadium Pub watching the NFL playoffs - got there around 5-6pm. Around 7pm I was "warned" by a Manager (I think he was) that he would be walking around collecting a cover charge (to cover pay per view for a fight) from the patrons already there - really? I told him that I had just ordered food and would let him know if I planned to stay. He checked on me a few times (again, really?) to see if I made up my mind. I indicated I would leave after eating. Then I made my "mistake" - I ordered another beer.....a final one to have with my dinner. He immediately confronted me and said that he wanted the $5 dollars because I obviously planned to stay? A classic case of penny wise and pound foolish. I gave his hard earned $5 and watched the 2nd half of the game at another establishment. The same place I'll watch future events. read more

We've been here a number of times, and for the first time the food and service were lousy. One couldn't blame the fact that it was a crowded football afternoon because that's what an established sports bar is all about. Their excuse for a Philly cheesesteak was a small soggy roll with some kind of minced meat and, when we told the waitress that we'd try a pastrami sandwich instead, we got dry meat that was slapped on stale rye. The gal was surprised when we told her and said that maybe complaints were rare because folks tend to be too drunk to care. Not sure what to say, but we weren't charged for either sandwich - good selection of beers though. read more

By far the worst service I have ever encountered. Came in on a Sunday night at 8:40 (says they close at 9 on Sunday's) and sat at the empty bar counter for 5 minutes while 3 bartenders walked past me and one even made clear eye contact with me when I came and sat down. When I asked one if I could order since I was being overlooked she said they were closed and I'm welcome to have water and watch the rest of the game. This makes no sense. And for the one that made eye contact with me as I walked in and sat down directly in front of her, all I have to say is she needs to go. To watch a customer come in, sit down and make eye contact with them and clearly recognize their presence but to not say hey we actually closed early tonight or anything at all, THAT is the definition of poor service. Make sure you don't try to drop in for a beer 20 minutes before closing because you will be ignored until you request a drink and then be told they are closed. read more

So much potential with all the tvs, location, etc. Honestly, it's just the terrible wait staff that is bringing all these reviews down and it's sad. As a resident within walking distance who loves sports and enjoys watching several games at a time, this could be and should be my ideal spot. I've tried on many many occasions to come back, but each time I'm disappointed more than the last. Today I came in with my girlfriend to grab some drinks and watch Sunday football, found a table outside, and was 20 minutes before the waitress came over. Upon coming over to drop off something to the table next to us, I had to get her attention and when I did , she said she'd be back in a few. I asked if I could just order two quick drinks- she responded with "you should probably just go to the bar, it'll be quicker." Really? So I went up to the bar, and after 5 mins of watching the bar tenders talk to each other and ignore me, We decided to leave. The tables around us said the same thing- which means that even though this place was packed (due to the Sunday NFL ticket), hardly anyone was ordering because the staff was so terrible. Last wk I came in with some buddies, ordered (after 15 mins) food a drink. I had eaten my whole meal, drank my water, beer, got another beer from the bar, drank that, went to the bathroom, watched the whole 2nd half of the fsu game, and waitress still hadnt came back. I finally asked the bar tender if I could close out- which she said id have to get my waitress- and eventually got out of there. This place could be raking in the dough and be so awesome- if only it were ran with a decent staff. I'd love to spend my money here- and have tried several times- but I'm over it now. Im now waiting for another sports bar like this to open- with a decent staff- and I'll be there 3 days a wk. The end. read more
