FORCED us to purchase GAP, and Tire & Wheel protection otherwise would not finance the vehicle. I'm wondering how many other people Stadium Auto has done this to. We went and purchased a 2017 Chevy Camaro on a Saturday. We brought $8,000 Cash as our down payment, the car was listed at $30,222 on the website. We got there and they said they got us approved for financing with NA Lenders. They told us that NA Lenders would ONLY finance us if we purchased the GAP insurance. We had such a large down payment we really didn't need GAP because our insurance would easily cover the vehicle in the event of a total loss. When we didn't want to purchase the GAP they told us sorry that was the only way we could get the car, we asked for our money back and they told us that they already dropped it in the safe. We asked who had the key and they said that person already went home. Since they are closed on Sundays the EARLIEST we could get our money was on Monday. Pretty much they told us that they were keeping our money and there was nothing we could do about it. We actually started to call the police to file a report. The manager and the sales rep assured us that they would have the money in a check available on Monday, thus eluding to the fact that they were keeping our cash. At this point we were stuck, either work a deal with the car, or be out of money so we couldn't go anywhere else over the weekend to purchase a vehicle. They complained that they had to pay the bank a fee to get us financed, and well, long story short they didn't have to pay, they passed that fee over to us, charging us $34,000+ for the car. Then they added the GAP and then told us that we had to buy a $1500 tire and wheel package because they said they messed up on the mileage listing on the website. So they went ahead and raised the price. We get to finance and we have a gentlemen named Armando help us out. He told us that we had a welcome call coming from the finance company and that if asked we were ok with the GAP which we were not. He coaxed us on what to say, and we even asked him if we tell them we don't want the GAP, he said that they would tell us that they could not do the loan. He told us that they had a great relationship with the bank, and that they text him all the time. After talking to our lawyer, we found out that what they did was illegal. Forcing us to purchase an optional contract was against the law. Most likely a violation of the DTPA, deceptive trade and practices act. When we signed the contract they made us sign an amendment to the contract stating that we had to take the lender to Arbitration and not court, and also if we canceled the GAP insurance, it comes off the back end of the contract not the front, which almost EVERY other lender takes that contract off immediately. Starting to paint a picture yet? If the car gets repoed and the contract is on the back end, then you are getting charged interest and the price is higher because of the way the GAP insurance is placed in the contract terms. I'm not certain if what the finance guy said was true, but that would most definitely mean there was a collusion between the dealership and the lender to force unwanted contracts to be purchased, which in turn would definitely be a violation of the DTPA. They bugged me for a week because they said I didn't sign a paper that needs to be submitted. I finally show up and they don't know what I'm talking about. Fast forward three weeks, I have called 4 times in the last week to find out where my plates are and still no one can find them. I was supposed to finally get a return call this morning at 11 and it's 1:45 and still no info. Just had to call again. Do not buy a car here. I can't believe that USAA certified this dealership. This place is a perfect example of why Yelp was created. There's a reality-show here waiting to be discovered in a train-wreck kind of way. Bush-league and dirty with a dash of mayhem... I called and spoke with Mark Anthony about a specific car. He said he would have the car ready for my arrival later that day. Specifically he said he would have it pulled into the "shaded" area so it would not be hot because who wants to test drive a hot car, blah, blah, blah. His words... We arrived and WTF?? There are about 200 assorted sales guys running around like a silent fire alarm was triggered. I say "assorted" because there seems to be no particular standard or theme here for employees. From attire, to grooming or just plain attitude it's a crap shoot. My guess is the average tenure of employment there is measured in days not years. You have to see it yourself... Mark asked us to please come sit down. I declined and asked to see the car. He said he had to find the keys as my senses were telling me to run away. 10 minutes later... he explains the battery was dead but they would have it running in no time. He suggested we drive something else to pass the time so we took out a new AMG. We returned to see no activity around the car we came to drive so assumed it was ready, it wasn't. Couldn't find Mark for 10 minutes; someone found him for us and we were informed that we were now being handled by someone else. Goodbye Mark, hello new guy. 15 minutes later they (7 people huddled around the car) discovered the battery is in the trunk and got the car running but wait, it's out of gas. Now we are standing around in the building torn between watching the show around the car or the colorful cast of characters running about inside. You don't want to sit down in this place... we spied a yellow leather(ish) couch but as we got closer you could see assorted soil marks that screamed don't sit here. So we stood, and stood... It was 100 degrees that day and no offer of something cold to drink. The new sales rep returns ten minutes later after fueling the car. We drove the car. Something was amiss with the front tires that caused the steering wheel to shake. We had enough. When we returned I couldn't find our sales person. I set the key down on the counter and walked out. I can only imagine the gong-show experience they have here if buyers survive the selection process and elect to finance their car here. The whole experience is beyond words really but surreal, creepy and amateurish come to mind. My recommendation - for the opposite experience consider ECar-One in Addison and ask for Chris Parish. That's where we went and I will buy my next car there too. Check out Stadium Auto's reviews on Google - I call BS on those reviews. They read like each individual sales person wrote their own endorsements just stopping short of including their phone numbers. Since I knew I would be out of the country for a while with my job, I sold my car and went away worry free. This was nice, but now it is time for me to return stateside. After working through friends and family I was referred to Stadium Auto. At first the reviews were quite scary. But my friend assured me that they have changed over management and things have turned around. Went to Stadium Auto because of their impressive selection of custom rides. It's worth just checking out their selection. Prices are fair for the unique rides they have on the lot, and Nathan seems to know every detail about them from the upgrades to horsepower etc. I don't know what the other reviews here are about, but reads like they had the experience that most people have buying a car, regardless of the dealer. You have to be a little financially savvy and not get too emotional in the process. Definitely worth going by Stadium for a test drive/ride. read more

Saturday in Nebraska was the day I found the car I was going to buy in Texas. That is until Stadium Auto of Texas destroyed the sales process. I called Stadium Auto at 11:00 Saturday morning. Spoke with a sales representative who answered every question I had about the vehicle. He was going to create a walk around, startup video of the vehicle to show me any imperfections it may have. I told the salesman if the vehicle met my expectations, I would buy it. When after a few hours I had not received a link to a video nor heard back from the dealership I called the salesman. He was with a customer at that time so I left my information. I also sent an online note to Stadium Auto with my contact information including my email. I received a reply of "ok" about an hour later. It is now Tuesday, 72 hours later and I have yet to hear anything from Stadium Auto concerning the vehicle I wanted to purchase. Signed on the car and gave them my car as a trade in. One month later they came and repoed my new car .. Said there was trouble with the fiancing .. I bought a 60K+ vehicle from these guys and had the worst experience. A huge headache from them. They lied to me straight up and had horrible customer service. If you are on disability and/or disabled you probably would not like to do business with this dealership. I am a wheelchair bound customer that must admit that I have very little to spend on a vehicle. Because of the wheelchair I have to look for a specific type of vehicle so I can load and unload my chair. I usually ask a sales person who can help me find and go through the process or purchase. I believed I had found one at Stadium Auto. Now I feel as though I've been strung along as a joke by the salesperson who could not be bothered with, "small details like if has two doors or four." and, "I just looked at our website for vehicles in your price range. I did not look at the details." Well, I thought that was what a salesperson did was help, and I feel like she would have if I wasn't on a limited budget and wheelchair bound. I am too much trouble as a customer and am not spending enough to be worth her time. Since her title is Internet Manager I can assume that how she made me feel as a customer is how the dealership feels as a whole. I found a Hummer we put 500.00 down to hold it then I wired them 18,000.00 for the down payment we were going to sign the papers on Sunday and we got a phone call asking if we were getting a different one then what we agreed one then lied about us picking on the wrong Hummer. Should have made this review years ago but I didn't make reviews back then. However, I would AVOID this dealership at all cost. I purchased my first car with them. Aug 31, 2014 I was 4 days away from turning 24, home from college, working my ass off and found my dream Mustang. Blue 2011 V8, they gave me a pre approval over the phone and I headed out to Arlington. I got to the dealership with my mom (co-signer) 3 kids and my sister who is 1 year older than me. After being there about 6 hours they finally bring me the car they promised me. NOT, it's still a Mustang, however this is convertible, silver, and a V6. I'm still excited, wasn't looking for a convertible but I mean who doesn't want a convertible at 24?? I signed for the car, along with my mom. And after about 8 hours I was off the lot! Day of my dreams!!! 1 week before my first note was due to be paid, a rep called me to come in and get my plates. I get to the dealership and they tell me they need $3,000 more dollars from me or another co-signer! Wtf? I'm confused, I leave so that I can make calls and figure out how to keep my car. The next day a repo man is at my moms house looking for the car! Luckily I wasn't home, I called them the next morning and they ran me around for hours on the phone working with my new co-signer (my aunt). They give us the approval over the phone and told me to come in to sign the paperwork. My aunt was at work so they allowed her to fax, I make it up there around 11 am with my sister, and then it happens. Around 1pm they come back out and tell me my co-signer did not get approved. And I could not leave with my car if I did not give them $3000 that day. I'd had this car almost a month and they took it from me! When I went outside at 7pm after being given the run around all day they had my car blocked in to be sure I did not leave. I learned this was a shady sales practice for commission. They took my first car 1 month into me having it by saying I never actually got approved. I was heart broken. I lost my job after missing work that day, I only went there to sign paper work and had to find a ride back home. They are shady. I received my money back 3 days later and sealed the deal at Clay Cooley on a 2011 triple black V6 Mustang started a new job the day after and I loved that car for 4 years. I took in a truck that has a 21k dollar clean trade in value that has absolutely nothing wrong with it other than normal wear and tear. I was offered 9k below trade value, then was cussed out when proved that there wasn't anything wrong with my truck. Was told the carpets would have to be replaced when in fact the carpets have 0 stains or tears in them. I clean the truck every week including shampooing the carpets cause I'm a clean freak. It was the trade in process and post purchase events that prompted me to give them a one star review. They have 2 locations. At the BIG location, they were so packed no one could help us. One guy said he would find someone but we looked around the corner and he was getting his damn boots buffed, wtf!! So we left! At the SMALL location, they were very helpful cause they only had 2 customers. Let's just say it took 3 hours and I still didn't get an answer on an approval or not. I actually just left on my own and haven't gotten a call yet. Bad first time experience and I'm not recommending strangers or family or friends to this place. This was the WOREST car buying experience ever! My husband use to sale cars and he said he had never been through anything like this! I would not recommend this place to anyone! Things that went wrong: 1. We were told we were going to get "x" amount for our trade in. They then came back and said o no, never mind we are only going to give HALF of what we said we were, first lie. 2. We went in with our own financing, and they knew this, we think this is the reason they would only give us half for the trade. If we financed with them we could have gotten full trade it, trying to sucker us into a higher interest rate! We left after this! 3. We finally worked out the trade in value. and went to pick up the truck. They wouldn't give it to us, even though they knew we had the financing in line. 4. Finally got the truck the next day BUT wouldn't give us the truck until the bank wrote them a check for the truck, which they had said before all they needed was a draft letter from the bank, nope lied again. 5. We had put a deposit down on the truck so it didn't sale over the weekend, took 2 weeks to get that back. Several phone calls and voice mails left, finally had to get a lawyer involved, they didn't like that. Now everything is done, so we thought, it's been 3 weeks and they JUST did pay off on the trade in, suppose to be done within 10 days. The sales manager, or who ever he was, was AWFUL!! He was very disrespectful, rude, and very Condescending, The only good out of all of was that our sales guy was awesome. But he is no longer there, he quit right after he got back that day from delivering the truck. He was tired of seeing people like us, being abused. Do not buy from this place. Here was my experience 1. No one communicated from their finance department. 5 different people called me from that department with the same question. Talk to each other! 2. The finance department told me I didn't have to get my car inspected for 2 years since t was brand new. Just to keep a long story short, bought an Audi S3 about a month ago and despite the confusing negotiation during all the process the Sales Manager decided to increase the price on the car $500 one hour before taking delivery of the car even though we had a signed purchase agreement with the price. I had to push all the time and give an incredible number of phone calls just to make sure they were working on the deal and paperwork. Extra expense. My sales associate JJ Kinzbach went MIA for several days without even let me know or replying calls, emails and text messages, and a lot of times nobody seemed to know the car was even being negotiated, even after I had put a $1000 deposit on it. I called somebody else and they said car was available. During delivery one of the keys of the car was missing and they didn't bother to let me know before I had traveled to take delivery of the car. The car had a lot of swirl marks on the hood and leftover polish compound all over the rubber trim pieces. They probably had someone "detailing it" I bet it was a lot better condition before, but I was able to fix it myself. Another extra expense. After more than one month with the car I received a phone call from them letting me know they did not have all necessary paperwork to license the vehicle, even though I have been calling and sending e-mails every week to check on the progress. Another extra expense since I had to prepare the documents myself and Pay for the shipping. Now they have all the paperwork, but nobody bothered to let me know they are working on it or even confirm receiving the documents. My temporary tag is about to expire and I still have not ETA on my license plates being shipped to me. The worst experience I had with lack of customer service, communication and simply respect I had for a long time. Tried calling Danielle at the customer service and even sent an e-mail to the Ken Strickler the General Manager to give them a chance to make it right before my review. They didn't care again! I stopped in to look at a truck advertised ar $35,949. After a test drive, I let them appraise my trade in and we set down to look at the figures. They made a decent offer for the trade but the sale price of their truck was $42,000! I told the salesman this was not the advertised price. The salesman goes to "talk to the manager". After 5 minutes he comes back, pulls up their website and the vehicle now is showing $42,000. They were making up excuses as I quickly walked out the door. I had a pretty good experience today. We dealt with a few others (crest, Sewell, land rover). All the prices were low balling our trade in. Crest started at 10,000. These guys gave me 16000. Also searched the entire state of Texas and feel we got a good deal on a qx56 infinity. I think most of the stuff comes from auctions, so expect higher milage. The big dealers were tacking on several thousand and calling it certified and has warranty. It's too much to pay. read more
