Great fields, you can play rain or shine as it's under the I95. It's gets humid in the summer but not unbearable.

Let's start with the obvious: the place is a monument to brutalism, a Cold War block of concrete so joyless it makes Soviet prisons look cozy. Every angle screams, "Give up now." The buildings look like they were designed by architects who hated students -- giant slabs of gray, windows slit like rifle ports, hallways echoing with despair. Even the pigeons look depressed. I was here in the late 1990s as part of the Honors Program, back when Carter Burrus ran the show. Now Burrus was called a "living legend." Translation: a man with a God complex who thrived on condescension. To many, he gave a chance. To me, he smirked, "You'll never make it." Well, Carter, here I am decades later, one of your more successful students, and you're a footnote in the history of a campus that looks like the set of a Cold War dystopia. Congratulations, you were wrong -- spectacularly, gloriously wrong. If arrogance were an Olympic sport, you'd have a gold medal and still find a way to belittle the silver medalist. The registration process? Then and now, it's a bureaucratic death march. Endless lines, blank stares, paperwork shuffled like it's 1952, and nobody ever knows what's going on. It's designed to beat the will to learn right out of you. The parking? Forget it. Pure hell. Spaces vanish faster than financial aid, and circling those lots is like auditioning for a demolition derby. I still remember when a kid was found dead in one of those lots. That's the kind of history this place carries -- not triumph, but tragedy. And let's talk about the area: for the past 30 years it's been sketchy at best. Step outside campus boundaries and you're reminded immediately that MDC North wasn't built to inspire--it was built to contain. Back then, even staff referred to it as "the Black campus," which says everything about Miami's ugly history of segregation and how this place became shorthand for inequity. The only bright spot? I met my first love here. That's it. The one redeeming memory in a sea of concrete, bureaucracy, and Carter Burrus's sneer. This place doesn't deserve two stars, or even one. It deserves a demolition order. But Yelp won't let me rate zero, so here's your single star. Not for the campus, not for Burrus, not for the architecture. That one star is for my first love -- because at least something beautiful grew out of this brutal slab of hopelessness. Miami Dade College North Campus: where ambition goes to die, where bureaucracy thrives, and where arrogance once strutted under the banner of "Honors." One star. Burn it down and start over.

Then told us we could leave as she did not need us in her class. We did. I then contacted Patricia Beck, program coordinator to get reimbursed as we paid for a semester for two people and got just about one hour of Mrs Grajeda complaining about the college, the location etc. After several back and forth, she told us we could not get reimbursed. So clearly, once you sign up, without a chance to meet the teacher or talk about the content of the course (it was titled "Conversation Spanish" yet the teacher said there would be no conversation), you pay for the whole thing. Complete lack of ethics. Do not go there.

He tells you things with much detail, such as he knew my grandmas name (her name is not common) and that she has diabetes, and some other people's names came up in the reading who are in my life. Other times he tells you things that you need to hear for what is yet to come and how to be prepared for that. He told me in the beginning of 2019 that he sees me traveling a lot this year, I didn't think much of it at that time. I have probably taken 10 trips this year. Remember spirit can guide and Hector can give us direction but we always have free will so it's up to us how we live our life. I always have questions prepared that I ask him at the end of the reading. Also, I did a cleanse with him and felt so much better after,, funny on the way to him I saw a rainbow and it symbolized something for me. During the cleanse he was able to point out things that were correct and on point. For me, it's important to do a reading at the end of the year or beginning so i can be aligned with myself for the year to come. Highly recommend him. His prices are also very reasonable.

One project was a large desk that needed to be scaled down and reconfigured into a console table; the other project was a desk with a broken leg required to be reattached. After a search of the internet and many "we can't help you" or unreturned calls, I located Tomas and Pros and Tools. Tomas asked that I send photos of the projects so that he could assess. Tomas was responsive, attentive and thorough and quickly paired me with Israel, one of the artisans with whom he contracts. Israel reached out quickly, stopped by my place and took careful measurements and followed up shortly thereafter to arrange pickup of the desks. Long story short, I couldn't be more pleased with the results. Both desks look amazing and have far exceeded my expectations. I am in awe of the quality of workmanship and am looking forward to working on other projects with Pros and Tools. Thank you Tomas and Israel for making life a whole lot easier and for transforming these great pieces. Highly recommended!

The evening was much more than an art gathering, it truly felt like a community coming together to honor an artist whose work continues to inspire generations. Guests had the opportunity to admire Clark's incredible pieces while connecting over refreshing drinks, great conversations, music, and a warm welcoming atmosphere. The selection was small but enough to contemplate the very best of his art. Also it was free for the public, so it was really a great gesture to the community. One of the highlights was seeing kids engage creatively through hands-on art activities, adding such a meaningful and joyful touch to the experience. And to close the celebration, everyone enjoyed delicious fried fish that perfectly complemented the spirit of togetherness behind the event. A memorable evening filled with art, culture, food, and community. Truly a beautiful tribute to Ed Clark's 100-year legacy.

There is something special and old world about going to a live play. There is something even more special about passing on a love of live theatre to your kids. This theatre company specializes in child friendly productions and puts on about four shows a year. Their 330 seat 'home' theatre is a renovated 1946 movie theatre with an authentic art deco lobby. I say 'home'; theatre because the first show I saw by this troupe was in South Beach and it was there I signed up for their annual program which they mail to your home - mine arrived today which sparked this review. This year they are focusing on performing in the Miami Shores theater which suits me fine because you don't have that nightmare of parking like you have in South Beach (took me 45 minutes last time to find parking near the theatre on Lincoln Road) Ticket prices are crazy reasonable...$15 per person. And the shows are just long enough to hold the children's fascination (and believe me...they are fascinated by live theatre - moreso than at the movies) but not that long that the fidgets set in. From the little experience I have had here, go early because the seats fill up fast. This season their new production I intend to go and see is Inanna and the Huluppu Tree. It doesn't start until April 2009 so plenty of time to gather a Yelp possee :) If you have guests coming to visit with kids and you are at a loss for what to do with them this is a brilliant option. Mind opening and fun!
