A nice wholesome way to spend a spring break evening…read more Watching a Canes baseball game on an early evening is just what baseball is all about. Much better experience than the pro team in little Havana. Just laid back and fun. I was reading a ten year old review of the Light and noticed that the shakes were $6. That would be awesome. They are double the price now. In fact my four shakes cost a lot more than the 4 tickets to the game. Not sure if that is cosmically correct. My four simple shakes ran me $45. Are they delicious? Without a doubt but a $12 shake is kinda crazy The kids loved them and of course they couldn't wait to go to MBP but overall, I had a great time

Beer is sold at the concession stands and a guy walking thru crowd , yelling cold beer here. I got a Modello and a sausage sandwich with peppers and onions. Not sure of the price, but it wasn't too bad. My buddy got a hotdog. The sausage sandwich was delicious. Always look forward to it, when I go. Cool atmoshphere with the Miami Hurricanes mascot walking thru out the crowd the whole game. Always available for a high five and a quick pic. Ticket prices for general admission is $6.50 . Can't beat it. By 3rd inning, you should be able to move down to better seats with chairs with armrests. General admission seats are benches. If you have a free night ,or weekend day, go and support the Canes.

People get impatient and start to uncontrollably lay on their car horns, carelessly reversing into vehicles stuck waiting to exit or go around the line of cars creating opportunities for further jams or even accidents. Last event took us an hour to exit the parking garage. I was parked only at the second level. UM needs to fix and address this problem. Very stressful experience and because of this can't recommend this venue. If you must come here, take either public transportation/Metro rail or Uber/Lyft. Not worth the aggravation and sheer madness of the poorly Managed traffic and parking situation at Watsco Center during major events.

I also try to schedule my PTO this weekend for a sort of staycation. I'm somewhere between my mid and late 40's :) but I still need some magnitude of regular nights out. Instead of Ultra downtown, and in addition to the show at the Clevelander Friday night I came to the "Freestyle Explosion" concert here at my alma mater's on-campus arena. The show was great! If you grew up during the mid 80's / early 90's especially in Miami, Chicago, the Bronx, LA you know the names: TKA, Lisa Lisa, Stevie B, the Cover Girls and Lil Suzy. Power 96 was the local sponsor and music took me back to afternoons in Westland Mall, sneaking into Casanova and other all ages clubs. Acoustics were pretty good; it's a good place for a 7000 - 8000 seat "specialty" concert. They had plenty of bars and concession stands in the middle concourse, and the bar food I enjoyed (chicken tenders and house cut chips) were not too bad. They had run out of bbq sauce, and just had regular ketchup. They also didn't sell mojitos but I did enjoy a well-blended Hennessey & Coke, and they did sell Woodbridge Moscato. One other thing that would have made it better is if they would have had an organized area for autographs and such. I did get to take a picture with LisaLisa though!

The campus beautifully integrates lush greenery, open water views, and shaded walkways, creating an environment that feels both energizing and peaceful at the same time. What makes the experience especially unique is the architectural diversity. The blend of Art Deco influences, Brutalist structures, and modern design elements creates a refreshing visual rhythm throughout the campus. Each building feels intentionally placed, elegantly portrayed, and connected to its surroundings, allowing nature to become part of the design rather than simply a backdrop. A highlight of the visit is the Lowe Art Museum, which encompasses a thoughtfully curated selection of both modern and historical works. The collection feels balanced and accessible, allowing visitors to move naturally between different artistic periods and styles while maintaining a cohesive narrative. The best way to experience the University of Miami and the Lowe Art Museum is by walking the grounds on a fresh Miami day. The gentle breeze, filtered sunlight through the palms, and harmonious architecture make the visit feel less like a tour and more like a relaxing cultural escape. Ps. Easy access from the Metro Rail UM station... The result is an inspiring setting where academic life and aesthetic beauty coexist effortlessly, encouraging visitors to slow down and truly appreciate the space.

He donated the land and money with the mission of bringing a higher education institution to the growing South Florida community. The college adopted the nickname Hurricanes in memory of the devastating 1926 storm that hit the area just as the university opened. After the land boom bust the college struggled but it experienced significant growth after WWII. Their football program boosted them to national prominence leading to academic expansion. and they celebrated their 100 year anniversary last year. The University of Miami spans 240 acres on the main Coral Gables campus. It has a strong albeit expensive academic program including a medical school. Their colors are orange, green, and white representing Florida's citrus industry. The mascot is Sebastian the Ibis. The campus is park like with large trees, the man made Osceola lake from the 1940's in the center, and 1920's architecture with the oolite limestone Coral Gables is known for. I have visited the Lowe's Art Museum on campus and the Gifford Arboretum in the past and most recently I came for the Beaux arts Festival now in it's 75th year. Now could not be a better time to visit since UM is in the College Football Playoff National Championship against the Indiana Hoosiers. They have won five football championships since 1983 and we are hoping for number six. To make the famous UM hand gesture hold up your hands in front of you palms out and put your thumbs so they are touching and your hands form a U shape. UM fever has spread throughout the entire city of Miami with events happening in conjunction with the big game all weekend long. The highly anticipated game takes place Monday night. Go Canes!

The two Roman pillars don't feel intimidating at all, they actually guide you into the experience, welcoming you into a lobby filled with posters of acclaimed and classic films that instantly set the tone You're then greeted by an incredible team, Conny and Mary, who truly feel like part of the show. From freshly popped warm popcorn to a variety of seasonings like BBQ, garlic parmesan, and caramel sea salt (yes, you'll want to try them all ), the concessions feel like a nostalgic treat. They've got all the classics, M&M's, Crunch, and even elevated options like crystallized almonds and cashews. Plus, sodas and even local beers? A perfect lineup Conny and Mary are always smiling, clearly enjoying what they do, and it shows. After the movie, I noticed the theater unfortunately left messy by some attendees, but they handled it with grace and never missed a beat. That level of care doesn't go unnoticed The programming is another highlight. You can always count on a curated selection, old-school classics, Sundance-worthy films, and international gems from Latin America, Europe, and Asia. It's something you don't easily find elsewhere in Miami, making this place truly special It's also a fantastic spot for seniors or international audiences who prefer films in their native language. Personally, I'm a huge fan of their European selection Thank you, Mary and Conny, for making it so memorable.
