Nice sized stadium for a college. I do like coming here for games. Different reasons. For one this is right next to my mom's house so I do appreciate that. FiU football is underrated. I do like coming to games to watch. They are very exciting and pretty decent. The parking situation is good. There is plenty of parking at the college. There are always assistants there to guide you where to park. What I do not like too much is that if the sun is out you WILL fry. There is no where to hide in that stadium. You will burn because there is no cover while watching the game. I really wish there was an area that did provide some shade. The drinks are pretty expensive. So is the food. There are cute places to do photo ops. The stadium is decorated nicely and it does scream MIAMI. Pass by to watch an FIU football game. It is worth it. read more

This is where they filmed the movie A FIU Good Men and also the movie For A Fiu Dollars More. FIU is a great University and their stadium is pretty good, and very very cheap and full of intense sports games and whatnot. And watching here is intense too, especially in the heat. The Miami Heat? Lol. The Sun beats down on you and there's no covering - so that's a shame. It's a college stadium and yet they serve beer which is cool. So overall I'd say it's good but not the best I've been to by any means. read more

Being in the FIU stadium is kinda like being in a maze. You get to your seats by winding your way under the seating. Which, since this stadium is in Miami is probably good when it's really hot outside because you have a spot to hide from the sun. But, as a first timer to the stadium I found it confusing. My friend and I purchased a combo pack with our tickets which included a small soda, popcorn, and hot dog. This was a really good deal, however, once we found our seats we were ready for our snacks but we could not buy these items on the side where our seats were located. So, we had to go back to the other side where we started to get our snacks. The fans from FIU were pleasant, meaning we did not catch slack for being supporters of the opposing team. Next time my team is in town I would go back here to watch them. read more

Pretty nice stadium for the size of the program. The parking is free for the games which is solid and they let you tailgate in the fields outside the stadium. Students are free and they can bring guests into the student section for $7. No beer inside brought in or sold which is the standard for NCAA football. They do have a bunch of repeating Lemon Ice, Arepa and Hot Dog stands all over the place. Since FIU is a smoke free campus you cant smoke cigarettes anywhere inside the stadium and there is no reentry. All the bathrooms are on the lower level which sucks, if you need to pee you have to take a hike down the stairs. Orrrrr..... there are elevators for going to the upper deck but they don't let you bring beverages into them. When its all said and done its a fun and cheap place for some college football. read more

FIU Stadium - FIU - Troy - Stadiums & Arenas Near Me - Miami, Florida

This is my happy place during college football season. We are season ticket holders for FIU football and love coming to the games. However, I won't be biased. Restrooms: For the past two years, they have kept the new and nicer Women's restroom locked up and forcing us to use the older restrooms by the concessions. If you have a new restroom, why keep it locked for fans to use? I think the point is to keep fans coming, since our attendance numbers are low anyway. Concessions: I love the frozen lemonade and snow cones. Arepas are delish. FIU Concessions need to improve. The manager is a stingy, not so nice person as it is. He doesn't seem to keep things clean either. I try to buy wrapped items, like candy from them. FIU would benefit from fixing up that area of the fan experience. Security can be somewhat rude at times as well. I'm not gonna lie. I'm a FIU diehard fan. FIU staff is wonderful but some things need to change. Four stars because I love my alma mater and the people who work directly for FIU are amazing (except Pedro), but things could be better. read more

The FIU Football Stadium, currently known as Alfonso Field at FIU Stadium, is the newest sports venue in South Florida (until the Marlins finish their Orange Bowl replacement). It only took FIU a few years to move from one of the all time worst NCAA football schools to the best in their conference. This stadium has a very unique design. Originally, it was a track and field stadium converted into a football stadium back (in 2001). From years of having that layout, they figured out the right and wrong way of providing for the crowd. There are no bad seats! You can be in the back row of the students section or in the front row of the 50 yard line, you will have an amazing experience either way! To add frosting on the cake, they have some of the LOWEST prices for season tickets for a Division I school. Bottom Line: Love football? This is the place to be for great action at a low price! read more

I love this stadium. For the size of student population its perfect and its pretty clean. The bathrooms are nice and spacious and the line goes quickly in here. The ramp can be annoying to go up but if you've had a couple drinks, it's a dandy time. There are a bunch of little stands to get hot dogs ($7 or $9) and arepas and the like which is pretty great seeing as you are not allowed any outside drinks or any type of food once you get inside the stadium. Best football value in town. This stadium almost has the energy of the old Orange Bowl, even with just 20,000 in the stands. It was designed for fan intimacy and to be loud. Once the FIU fan base gets a little bigger (back to back winning Bowl seasons should help) and the north side of the stadium is complete, it will easily be the best football stadium, for the fan that is watching the game, in all of South Florida. read more

I love FIU and try to support the team as much as I can. Please understand that this review is in reflection of their stadium and not of the team. The first issue I have with the stadium is the lack of excitement around the stadium. Sure, the students do a great job tailgating but as you get closer to the stadium, there really isn't much going on. As you enter the stadium, you quickly realize that your food and drink options are going to be very cheap and limited. I would suggest getting food before the game. As far as seating, you might want to bring a cushion with a backing as you will be most likely seating on metal bleachers. There is very little shade areas but you could move closer to the middle of the field as the game goes on because there is no one there. The crowd is mostly parents and families of the players and the opposing fans. Most of the students who tailgate go home and never go to the game. I hope one day FIU has a truly rocking stadium with a true college football atmosphere. read more
