The food was easily a 3 stars despite the wait of an hour. Our waitress was so *%#*ing rude for no reason hence the one star. Me and my husband always order a bunch of food to share when we go to a restaurant for the first time to see what we like but when we finished ordering our waitress with a snarky tone was like "you're getting three plates?" This is my favorite Home town feeling spot. The food is amazing. There's no question about that, and the prices are good for the food. Some of the staff is friendly, some of the staff is rude. Just depends. But you can almost never get a table in there without a wait. For as popular as the diner is, and as many regulars as they have you'd think having more tables is a good idea. Stacys is a favorite Sunday breakfast for my husband and I! We love this little diner. The staff is very friendly and they remember us everytime we come in. We hardly ever have to wait too long to be greeted by a waitress. The place has an older diner kind of feel which we don't mind. We can always count on Staceys to be a great place to bring our out of town guests and they all love the place too. The food here is great. I ordered the Hungry Man Breakfast. I ordered it with hash browns and eggs fried & hard. My wife ordered her eggs scrambled. My hash browns came back well done on the outside and mushy & soft on the inside. My eggs were fried and hard...very hard, a little dried out. My wife complained the scrambled eggs were a little soggy. The bacon, sausage links, pancakes and ham were fine. The coffee was as you would expect for a diner; good but not great. Good portion size, good value. We had 2 servers for a party of 4 which made things a little confusing at times. This diner is very near an Army base and a little bit of that military mentality has rubbed off on the servers - or at least one of them. - All Business Other reviews have indicated service is "hit or miss" may I suggest the eggs & hash browns are also. read more

Stacy's was right off of 70 and really easy to find. The decor reminded me of a classic diner and you could tell this was a popular local restaurant. The waitress was friendly and fast, we had our food about 5-10 minutes after we ordered. The biscuits and gravy were good, but the hot cakes were light, fluffy, and tasted phenomenal! Husband and I stopped in here today. It doesn't look like much from the outside but the parking lot was PACKED. I was a little worried when we walked in, two of the servers were eating at the bar, but they immediately told us to sit where ever we wanted and came quickly with menus and drinks. The servers were friendly but sadly never came back with more coffee.The food arrived maybe ten minutes after we ordered it. I had the corned beef hash breakfast (it was around ten bucks). Hubs had the vegetarian omelette (just over $7) and a side of bacon ($3). We shared a cinnamon roll. My eggs were cooked perfectly, over easy, and the cinnamon roll was warm and gooey deliciousness. I'd go back. We agreed it was better than Cracker Barrel. read more

As i usually do, i ordered the "Hungry Man's Breakfast" with a side of french fries.... My eggs were made scrambled with cheese over.. The eggs were disgustingly runny... They had the texture of a mushy rib patty that just came out of the MRE's i eat from time to time... The country sweet ham was so so so soft, as if you'd breathe on it and it'd fall apart.. My hash browns weren't even fully cooked, just moving them around to mix them with ketchup made them look like a clumped up version of home made mashed potatoes.... I had to wait 20 minutes before getting my orange juice...... With all due respect, the service today just fucking sucked ass... Excuse my language but that's how i feel... The waitress came up to us to ask how everything was and i responded with an unsure "okay" and she asked what was wrong and i told her and she acted as of it was justified. For some reason. Nope!! Gave it a try, despite the outside appearance- rude rude rude service. No greeting, no instructions to sit or be seated. Server and hostess were very unwelcoming. I got the chicken special. Canned corn, crappy gravy from a mix, canned peaches was the "dessert". Chicken was only dark meat, very crazy not hot or fresh. They won't see me again. I've now eaten at Stacy's twice. I ordered breakfast items that had been recommended (biscuits & gravy as well as the cinnamon role). I have also been there for lunch. I'm NOT impressed. While the biscuits were pretty good on their own -- the meatless (or virtually meatless) gravy was thick, drowned the biscuits, and had a flour taste. The cinnamon role was large - however, it was dry with minimal cinnamon taste and sugary frosting. The large serving of hashbrowns seemed to be from the instant box variety that you simply soak (which is fine) - unfortunately, they were not soaked enough and were simultaneously mushy and had a tough core. They were seemingly unseasoned and barely cooked on the grill - therefore minimally crunch or carmelization. The lunch (both my lunch special of "taco burger" and a kid's meal) were bland. The place has the old diner atmosphere without the quality or engaging wait staff. You seat yourself, have to flag down a waitress for refills or the bill, and then go to the front counter and wait in line (standing between tables and individuals sitting at the counter) to pay. Having been in one of those booths near the front -- I don't like people standing right next to my table - talking with friends or on the phone - for more than half the meal. As another reviewer commented, I'm not sure why this place has 4 stars and opine it may be because there is not very many good places to eat in the area. I used to head to Junction City three or four times a year for my job, and one of the highlights of the trip was being able to go to Stacy's for breakfast. The place is usually full early with local ranchers, farmers and soldiers from nearby Fort Riley. I almost always got the same thing, eggs over easy, chicken fried steak, hash browns and gravy poured over the entire place. Since I'm living in a part of the country where they know no other breakfast potato than Home Fries, I try to pork down as many plates of hash browns as is possible, and Stacy's does a solid, no frills hash brown. The chicken fried steak isn't the hockey puck you find out east in places that don't know better, but an actual steak. They still deep fry it, so points off for that, but it's light years better than the Cracker Barrel version. Sopping up the egg-yolky gravy with toast after putting away the breakfast is the cherry on top. It screams for unhealthy white bread toast. It's not the best breakfast in the world, but it's definitely one that will leave you happy and full. read more

We went for Sunday brunch. Seems really small on the outside but is a lot more space than you think. Even though it was really busy, the food came out relatively quickly and was delicious! If you want pretentious, Stacy's is not for you. Stopped in here on my trek across middle America and you know what? Middle America was here! If you want some excellent homemade breakfast that is reasonable, this is the place. My viewpoint is that if the locals eat here, it must be good. Yes, it was full of farmers, cow-punchers and locals fueling up before starting their day...okay, maybe they are the lazy ones... In any case, we had the biscuits and gravy, ham and cheese omelette and they were incredible. Bypass the chains, the golden arches and all the others and stop in here. Very reasonable prices, great (and fast) service and who knows - you may learn the difference between cow hay and horse hay. This place is tops. read more
