Love this little book shop! Book stores are so rare these days that I'm grateful for any independent one that still exists! I've visited many times and there are always fun things to look at, from the staff recommendations, to locally made jewelry, candles, and bookmarks, to the seasonal offerings from the cafe. They also host a variety of events. The space is clean and modern with lots of seating, both indoor and outdoor. The space is on the smaller side though, but they still have a solidly curated selection of books to browse. I know I will be back again and again! This cozy space was everything I needed for the Friday after Thanksgiving. We came just for the coffee but ended up staying a while to sit and explored the books they had on display. Great staff, very helpful! First time ordering can be a lot! They are aware and offer the menus so you can sit down and decide. They have a huge book selection, lots of cute artsy items. The latte I had was amazing! Very good flavor, and some espresso can be a bit bitter, theirs is not. Prices for drinks is good. I'll definitely be back! So glad I finally got to try Stacks! It's a bit of a trek for me, but my friend and I made it out for a book bedazzling event. The first thing I like are the hours - I'm an all day coffee drinker and it can be really hard to find coffee spots open later than 3pm. I'm also a reader and Stacks had a surprisingly large selection with some beautiful editions and author signed copies! They also had adorable stickers, hats, tarot, bookmarks, etc. My iced coffee was tasty! Looking forward to trying a signature drink next time. The vibes were great for the book bedazzling event, although I have to admit that I found the act of altering a book a little weird in the end. But overall, great time! read more

I don't live near the area but I try to visit when I have spare time. It's such a great spot to meet a friend or read a book, and if you need a book they have a good selection of genres and even a kids section. Lots of seating through out and I loved browsing the gift area. I almost always order a chai here whether hot or iced it has such good flavor, I love a "spicier" chai and this time I tried the seasonal chai of banana and coconut it was delicious! Another find that had been here a while. Seems like I'm late in discovering this gem. It's a small niche book store work a full coffee/tea/matcha bar with fresh pastries and a friendly, patient staff. Very clean and worth a visit. Is it a book store that serves coffee, or is it a coffee shop that sells books? Who knows, but you don't really need to have an answer. From coffees to matcha lattes, whatever you order here is satisfying every time. What prevents me from giving Stacks a 5 is that the customer service is always an odd experience. There is a sense of a lack of fulfillment from the staff that throws the vibes off. To avoid this, I typically take my drinks to go. Cute bookstore with tons of great selections. Love the table with plenty of book themed gifts and lots of local makers' products, everything from candles to jewelry to stickers. We were there for @cactuscloudart 's (aka Serena Rios McRae) book launch. I appreciated the different types of seating, with options for folks with limited mobility. They also had a special drinks menu for the book launch and we tasted all the options and they were all great. One of the drinks had no carbonation when it was supposed to but as soon as we made them aware of it, they very quickly and very kindly made us another one, which tasted great. Open for over a year now this locally owned business supports other local businesses (Bagels, Chocolate, pastries, candles, jewelry, and more) while also highlighting and hosting local authors! They host bookclubs and now have a podcast worth checking out. I love coming here after a long week- having a glass of wine or an energized drink with a classic black and white or snickerdoodle with my latest read. It's also a great place to get some writing or other work done - comfy couches and chairs but also tables inside and out under the shade. I really wanted to like this coffee shop. I've been twice. The first time the girl overcharged me and instead of giving me my money back, she gave me a free coffee card for next time. I didn't notice I was overcharged so to her credit she didn't have to do that. The second time I visited the barista forgot the cream in my americano and poured it on top of an already full cup which of course I spilled. So instead of having a nice clean cup and saucer it was sticky with spilled coffee. What did I like? I do like the local artists they support and you can buy locally made items. read more

Went here yesterday with a friend to do some remote work and check out this cute spot. It was smaller than I imagined but still cozy with couches, big comfy chairs, table seating, even a few window seating spots. There's also a small patio! One thing I noticed immediately is how off the radar it is. It's in oro valley market place and if not for google maps, I wouldn't have noticed it. The signage is sooo high in the building, it's really hidden unless you're in your car driving with ample space away to see it. The door/front of the building has no signage either soo it took me a sec to make sure I was at the right place and enter through the patio gate. Once inside, there's a little cafe with bagels, cookies, brownies, a few pastries, bagged popcorn, rice crispies, and some refrigerated treats and drinks. In addition to this, there's a menu of drinks and a seasonal one too! I got the cookie butter chai with oat milk and it was soo good (I forgot to take a picture)! I also got a bagel, reasonably priced at $2.75 with cream cheese, unreasonably priced at $1.25. That's crazy to me for a little serving of almost frozen (it was soo cold and hard) cream cheese. I also got 2 rice crispies for $4.50 each. The store has so many cute little finds! I had to try very hard not to walk out with candles, new earrings, and a new book! They feature local creators & products which is really cool. All in all, this is a really cool stop, very reminiscent of "I love where I live". Love that we have the places here, and in different corners to serve different areas. Just need one on the east side now! read more

Add another book to the backlog stack. While creating my list of things I wanted to see and do around Oro Valley, I stumbled upon Stacks. It's a combination bookstore and coffeehouse. What a perfect pairing, in my opinion. We just so happened to have an early dinner planned at Fork & Fire and I noticed Stacks was right around the corner, so I asked if we could stop there first before getting grub. Without hesitation, Emily's parents said a-ok! This place reminded me of The Brewed Book in Davenport, IA. It's first and foremost a bookstore but one that happens to serve coffee. There are tall bookshelves that run around the perimeter of the store with plenty of offerings and hidden gems to be found. Since we flew to Arizona, I wasn't personally looking to grab a book to read on the way home since I already had one. My main goal was coffee and maybe some little trinkets and those are exactly what I got. I got my usual Americano since we were just about to put down some massive food while Emily got her usual latte. Said Americano was your standard Americano, so nothing to really note there. It was just what I needed. Emily said her latte (I forgot what type she got) was really good, too. The baristas were super nice and even hooked me up with a sticker they put on their cup when I asked for one. We sat inside for a few minutes to enjoy our drinks and soak up the atmosphere of Stacks. I gotta say, this is the kind of place I would come to for a coffee and a few chapters in a book. Along with my coffee, I did grab a t-shirt and a few stickers to help support the store. read more

This place was super cute! It was cozy and the staff was beyond friendly which contributed to the charming atmosphere! They had lots of indoor and outdoor seating, and had a divine menu of drinks and a few snack options available! I could not decide between the summer specials, so I got the flight for a steal at $16 to try a decent size of all of them! I think my favorite was the peach chai, most unique was the mango tajin espresso, instagram-worthy was the blueberry matcha. The horchata and the nitro were sweet and creamy, agh cannot decide! Adorable! Small but a good selection. I Came here on a Monday, a holiday, and it was a little more crowded since everyone had the day off. Staff was super nice and friendly. They have a coffee bar inside with pastries as well as books and other trinkets for sale. I joined their rewards program and after so many purchases, you get $10 off. I purchased a book And a delicious sugar-free vanilla latte and sat down and read a book for a bit. Nice vibe. They have a lot of little events scheduled. Was visiting Tucson and had to stop by and check this place out. It was a Thursday morning and this place was lively, not in a "this is place is too noisy" way but in a "I want to be here because it feels fun." Service was prompt and friendly. Their drinks and food were delicious. Loved all the fun items for sale, noted a few were locally based. All in all, it was a really fun visit and I was sad to leave. I love when I can go to Stacks, and recently had a great experience with Bookstore Romance Day. While they are a smaller place than many bookstores, they handled the use of their space well, situating high top tables throughout for people to use for their drinks, and had the books from the attending authors front and center so you didn't have to go searching for them, which was great. I've never had a bad drink, and Bookstore Romance Day was no exception. I love the themed menus they do for events, and this one had both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options, creating a solid mix. The atmosphere they created for the event was exactly what I had been hoping for. People were excited about the authors, I got to trade friendship bracelets with people, and the free door raffle prizes were even cooler than I thought they'd be. I'm looking forward to the opening of their second location, and hope to attend book clubs there after it opens. read more

This has been a very enjoyable local coffee shop for me to visit and support. Right away as I entered I enjoyed the space for how open it is and how many several options for seating there are. Couches, tables and benches all around with some options for sitting outside on the nicer days. Great views of the Catalina mountain range! There is a wide selection of books to purchase and WiFi available for guests. The space itself is well kept including the bathrooms. Kid friendly as there is a section for kids to sit and books and creative things for them too. The menu offers coffee, tea, local bites and pastries and even a coffee flight which is unique, something I haven't seen around town. Vegan options are plentiful which is appreciated too. This is my first time visiting the Oro Valley Marketplace, I had no clue it even existed, so thanks to Stacks for showing me what else is out on Tangerine. Stacks is a great place to have coffee/pastry, read a book, and/or do some work. The atmosphere is quiet and laid back and there is some seating outside too. Stacks is small, but there's a decent selection of books to buy, as well as wine, greeting cards, knick knacks, and toys. The coffee and pastries are all made by local artisans and some offerings are vegan, which is a plus for those that do not eat dairy or meat; and the beer and wine are native to Arizona. read more

My kids' school informed us that Stacks Book Club was having a summer reading program. Until then I was unaware of this quaint little cafe/ bookstore. My sons have fun reading books and writing /coloring about what they read. We do the library summer reading programs, but it's fun for them to discover a new place and get rewarded for reading ! Last time we went the staff was so patient with my sons, taking the time to ask questions about the book they read... even though there was a line forming behind them. I tried one of the Coconut coffees and felt a steady energy from it for hours to follow; unique tasty flavors.
