I was in the area and wanted some breakfast so I stopped by for a bite. It was interesting because it is set up like a cafeteria style restaurant where you take a tray and go down the line to pick up your drinks and place your order. The tables are first come first served only. The food was delicious and the service by the staff was great as well. It was very busy (I could see why) but the traffic was flowing constantly.

Wow!! Really cool friendly VERY BUSY HOPPING PLACE!!! Line out the door to get in. As a "single", I was asked to sit in an area with only two tops leaving the other tables for large parties, I understand this, but dang I'm all alone over here LOL!! Still received excellent service. Restaurant is loud, music, conversation, rolling carts, dishes banging, so if you want somewhere quiet this isn't a good choice, especially for some autistic children very over stimulating. That being said, this is a really hip and cool place! The staff seem to really enjoy their jobs and they work together teamwork!!!!

We stopped here on our way home from the Wright Brothers museum. This is just a simple family diner with a huge menu. Making a selection for breakfast was quite a job. The food came out very quick and we are out of there in about 30 minutes for a family of five. Everybody loved their meals and it's definitely a good stop for a quick breakfast.

For breakfast or brunch, it's hard to beat this place. Unlike traditional breakfast chains, it has a fast food/cafeteria style setup, where you get your drinks first, then you order your dishes at the cashier, and then sit at the table where a server will bring out your order. The portions were enormous, and the pricing is more than competitive when compared to other chain options. The table and seating were fairly average, as to reflect their no frills standard. However, the service provided by the staff was way beyond average. They made sure all your needs were met, and willing to make things right if any issues came up with your orders. Don't miss this place for breakfast or brunch when in the Outer Banks area!

This is a very unique place. You get your drinks, order your food, then post for everything. Then you find a seat and they will bring your food to you. The food was good and they do give you good portions. The prices weren't bad. The place had lots of funny quotes written in various places on the walls and even up on the ceiling beams. We liked it enough to go back a serving time while visiting.

Cashier or whoever runs the front the owner maybe? Very nice lady. She remembered my order after only one visit. It was so good that's why I came back the second day. You go in pick up a tray like a highschool cafeteria and pick your order (alot to choose from). I love to add fruit into the pancakes. The biscuits and gravy was the highlight for me. They get extremely busy so come early. Hard to find parking when they do. Seating is plentiful but again they get busy so it's always filled. Awesome food, great price, great service. Highly highly recommend!

Odd little place ! Very family runner! Cafeteria style ordering! Only one tray per table! Very friendly! Almost too attentive! Great vibe except ordering! Food was hot and pancakes were some of the best! Great on the off season!

    Agreed!

I was pleasantly surprised by this place! When we first entered and saw the line, I was skeptical. The ordering process began with you standing in a line to order your food like a college cafeteria. You can grab things al a carte, or you can check out the menu while you get to the cashier. The staff was friendly and super helpful. They were quick to accommodate guests, clean up plates, and refill water glasses. The ambiance was classic beach breakfast. My husband got cereal and the chunky monkey peanut better and banana pancakes. He devoured it. I ordered a monster biscuit (egg and cheese). I ended up deconstructing it and eating it like an omelet and putting strawberry jam on the biscuit. Lastly. We had to try their granola made in house. Hands down the best granola I have EVER had. I will go back for the fruit parfait alone. Don't skip that granola!

Ask the Community - Stack'em High Pancakes & So Forth

What do you serve that is vegan?

Do the biscuits and gravy have egg in them? Cross contamination is fine, but my wife is allergic to eggs as an ingredient.

I would suggest that you ask the staff or the owners. I found all the folks at this restaurant to be incredibly helpful.

    Any gluten free items?

Good morning. We do not serve gluten free pancakes, waffles or French toast, but we have many egg options that are gluten free. We also have gluten free bread for toast. However I do believe we are out of it today. Thank you for your inquiry.

Another thing to note is most places that are typically a local favorite are closed in Tuesdays. We drove into their massive lot and didn't see any cars. Yes, it was 11:00am but they didn't close until 12:30p. Typically this family run restaurant does a cafeteria style line but off season it's table service. Yeah for us! Food was cooked made to order and SO delicious. I opted for a breakfast quesadilla and a side of pancakes(2 for the senior option). The salsa on the quesadilla was super tasty hint of garlic and fresh tomatoes. The super short stack of pancakes went to my belly quickly, hope I got photos. Service was spot on. Yes, a couple more people came but our server managed everything perfectly. From now on, we won't be driving to the Nags Head location, because I'm bumping the starts at this location.
