I've been to Stack Subs several times recently because not only is my lady is insistent on going, but the subs are very tasty too! It's clear the owner cares about his customers because he responded here on Yelp of taking better care with gluten free requests. Today we saw evidence of that action with employees pausing to make sure their gloves were new and not contaminated for making a GF sub. This got Stack 5 stars from me! My only disappointment was being surprised chicken isn't on the menu. I still greatly enjoyed the special turkey-bacon sub, and recently my tuna melt on a pretzel roll was scrumptious. This place is amazing! We were greeted as soon as we came in, explained the whole menu and extra prices and were warned when something was gonna cost more or wasn't available. The girl there (blue and purple hair, so nice!) apologized for any delay for being the only one there and even told us what would go good as toppings. Disappointed in this spot. We had high hopes based on the pictures. Highly over priced since it was 31.00 for 3 of us to eat. 3 small sandwiches, cup soup, 2 chips and a drink only. Potato soup was thick and bland and we will need to stop somewhere soon to eat because it wasnt much food. Top notch sandwich shop! I was at the movies and came out super hungry so I decided to walk along belmar to find something to eat and to my surprise a little local sandwich place was nearby. They have a set up where you pick your sandwich from the 10 or so varieties including daily specials, you pick your bread and they even have pretzel rolls then they run it through a toaster. I love toasted sandwiches even though I always skip the cheese, everything always tastes better toasted. I ordered the turkey on a wheat bun, added all the yummy toppings including avocado for $1 more. The 6" was a good size and the bread wasn't heavy or overly crispy like some other sandwich places. I have to say these guys have won me over and I can't wait to go back and sneak the sandwiches into the movies instead of getting them afterwards! read more

Great subs, excellent value! We started coming here after Subway in Lakewood decided not to use Swiss cheese (my absolute favorite cheese) anymore. So ..... the atmosphere here is always upbeat with awesome music, the employees are ALL always pleasant and friendly. You would almost think they like their jobs, lol. The food - always fresh and a great variety including kids meals. I've had the tuna and Swiss a couple of times and enjoyed them both times. My husband has had the Italian coldcut and he loved it. Three stars for my first visit - turkey sub was good but not great. Also, they had just opened recently and the sandwich "line" was painfully slow. Second visit - a solid four stars for a delicious and well crafted Italian sub. We added spicy peppers, tomatoes, black olives and vinegar/oil. The toasted bread has an excellent texture and flavor. Good ratio of meats to cheese to veggies. Atmosphere - three stars. They need to make sure the tables are cleaned more regularly. Also, we were glad to have been there when it wasn't busy as the sandwich line is still a bit slow. The location (a few steps away from the movie theater is ideal and makes Stack Subs a great post-movie lunch spot (for those of us who like to go the early show). read more

I should start by saying I am a San Francisco native but consider Colorado home for over 16 years now. Having said that, I admit I am perhaps not the most impartial critic. My allegiance falls to a sandwich on a fresh sourdough roll with copious amounts of meat like I would find at Molinari and Sons or the likes. I am also not the biggest fan of toasted subs. However, as far as toasted subs go, Stack is by far one of the better. I ordered the standard fare...a roast beef and a pastrami. I was a bit disappointed to see what I initially thought was just bags of standard white rolls...BUT, what may look ordinary is transformed by toasting into nice, crusty, chewy goodness! Nice selection of toppings to satisfy most everyone's fancy. I would prefer more meat for the price but that's the West Coast in me. Service was great. It seems inevitable that folks get the munchies at the most inopportune moment, and the two got slammed by about 10-12 people all at once just after 8pm. Surprisingly, both my wife and I took half our sandwiches as lunch the next day, and they held up quite well. Overall, solid first impressions! read more

I found myself in Belmar and found myself hungry. The reviews on Yelp were great so I thought I would check it out. The sandwich was good -I had the tuna and I liked that it wasn't overly mayo-naisey. The giardiniera is very good and packs some heat! The reason why this place only get 3 stars and not the 4 as I had intended was due to the environment in the shop. They were not busy (only one other customer in the shop) and the place was a mess. None of the tables were wiped down, crumbs and trash on the floor and supplies boxes emptied and in site. Half the way to get someone into your shop is how it looks. Owners, take note and make sure your employees are cleaning up whenever possible! read more

The subs are fantastic. The service and employee attitude is substandard. My girlfriend and I went in maybe 20 min before they closed and a female employee said as we were ordering "I hope I get to leave on time". Having worked and managed in the customer service industry, this is not appropriate to say in front of customers. Once we placed our order the same employee proceeded to complete her closing checklist instead of finishing our sandwiches which sat cold on the prep Area. Probably the best grab and go sandwich spot I've been to! Awesome sandwiches and options, including the pretzel roll which is unique and so good. Every sandwich I've had has been delicious and piled high with meat and toppings. Service was friendly and it's a locally owned shop. This place is really just okay. Heres the summary: Pros: The pretzel bun is very good Its a local business The sandwich was not in any way bad. Cons: The meat is highly processed and very salty. Aforementioned pretzel bun is an extra 75 cents for no good reason. The "Soup" was abhorrent. I rarely am unable to eat something.. but the "tomato bisque" was clearly made from a powder mix, and was more of an orange flour slurry than soup. And 3.50 a cup! Shamefully bad. The service was extremely slow... and we were the only people with an order in at the time. Overall... eh. This place is really proud to be local but I don't really see anything above average about the place. Ok for a sandwich, just for the love of god don't have the soup. read more

I crave the spicy bacon turkey pesto sandwich. I get it on wheat and add ranch and avocado. You know when you salivate thinking of something. This sandwich does it for me. IT IS SO BOMB!!! This is THE BEST sandwhich shop in the area. They have freshly cut meats, and 2 options for gluten free bread. Sliced or the new long one that kind looks like a sub sandwhich, which is YUMMY. They have a great selection of non-alcoholic drinks. Couple tables outside too for a nice day. Been here at least 15 times, they are way better than subway or jimmy johns.
