Got a disgusting sandwich made wrong. Called to get it fixed, the girl on the phone argued with me because 'well he said he made it right' (as I had the wrong sandwich right in front of my eyeballs), and ultimately they didn't fix it and handled it atrociously. Left my number with the woman at the front desk to get a call back from a manager, and after a week they still haven't bothered reaching out. Left a review, they said 'please reach out so we can make this right', and despite the fact they have my number... STILL nothing a week later. They can't make it right, at this point. Ordered $200 worth of food for a work event two days in a row ($400 total). About 4 Large Pizzas, some salads, fries, onion rings, calzones ,etc. Plus 4 x 2L bottles of soda. The food is great. I can't lie about that. But man................ Day 1, they asked me on the phone if I wanted all the paper items (cups, utensils, plates and napkins). Threw it all in a bag for me. Day 2, pretty much a repeat order. I reminded them to include all the paper items, and they said only the plates and utensils for the salads were free. They actually charged me $4 for cups for dinks for the 4 x 2 liter bottles of soda. And they were going to charge me for the "extra" utensils. I guess people in NH use their fingers to eat. The manager got on the phone, I wasn't angry with him, just pointed out the inconsistency between the 2 days. He apologized and said he would speak to the staff from the previous day for making the mistake of not charging me. I said "I got over $200 worth of food from you both days. How do you expect me to drink the soda? Out of my hands? LOL!" Again he was very nice and apologized and said that was ownership. He said it wouldn't make a difference if it were $1000, I'd get charged. Fast forward to the delivery. The delivery driver is always great. Nice guy. I always make sure to tip him and I hope he doesnt have to share his tips. He dropped off my order. They gave me an extra pizza. I said to him "I think you dropped this off to me by accident" . He said no, when you order so many pizza's they give you one for free. So another inconsistency, they owe me a pizza from the day before then! Additionally, you are going to argue with me over plastic cups for $4, but will hand out a Large Cheese pizza for free? Stepping over a dollar to get to the dime! What a mess this place is. Hadn't ordered food from Stachey's in over 10 years and I won't be ordering again in my lifetime. Called in for a half hawaiian, half "house-deluxe" pizza with a side of fries. The girl on the phone sounded confused at first but said they could do it. Didn't tell me my total over the phone...First Red Flag. I get there 25ish minutes later and noticed orders just sitting on a shelf...no heating lamp or anything...2nd red flag. She tells me my order was $27.52 and asks if I want a receipt, but I was only given a credit card receipt not an itemized...3rd red flag. I get home and open the box and I'm immediately dismayed. Half of the crust was burnt, the other half was raw. Looked as if they left half the pan hanging out of the oven. Some of the toppings didn't even appear to be cooked, just tossed on after they pulled it out of the oven. My fries were cold and tasted like...cardboard. I decided to put a couple slices and some fries in the oven to finish cooking. Even after my attempt, the crust under the toppings was soggy and doughy; I couldn't even lift the slice to my mouth without everything sliding off. Despite dousing the fries in white truffle oil, freshly grated parmesan, sea salt, and fresh parsley they still tasted like cardboard. Disappointed is an understatement. I threw the remaining slices and fries right into the trash. Not even worth my time asking for a refund. Since the Covid-19 pandemic I've made a point of only ordering takeout from local businesses. But what's the point when you can come to expect consistency from a chain? PS: I was so annoyed when I went outside to toss that junk into the trash bin that I forgot to put the lid on. The large cheese pizza is enormous!! It was good but pretty standard as pizzas go. The chicken alfredo was average - chicken and pasta were flavorful and nicely cooked - though the alfredo sauce was quite watery for my taste. However the takeout box was packed to the top which was nice. read more

I used to LOVE this place but today I was so disappointed. Heres the positives: the Syrian bread that comes with the salad is to die for and the large subs are enormous. We got a turkey sub, buffalo chicken sub and chicken teraki salad. Very disappointed. The turkey sub was fine but how do you really mess that up right? The buffalo chicken sub was cold and the cheese wasn't even remotely melted. The chicken tasted like it had been sitting around all day and everything was falling out the bottom of the sub because the bread was so soggy. Felt like pizza after shopping, so we stopped in here. Didn't order ahead, but had a fresh pizza ready in about fifteen minutes. For the pizza, we got a large Flortenine. We had never been to stachey's, so we ordered a large (just the two of us) because pizzas vary in size, even when the size is printed next to it. Anyway, we have enough for lunch and dinner tomorrow. Granted, we also got a greek salad, and the wife was feeling like the buffalo chicken. I thought the greek salad was fine, nothing terribly special, but ingredients were clearly fresh, which is a good thing. Wife thought the buffalo chicken was on the greasy side; we have seen buffalo chicken served grilled or fired, this was clearly breaded and fried. I am not one to enjoy crust (I usually leave it), but Stachey's passes my test. Not too thick, but not so thin that it become a cracker. And there are some lovely "well done" brown/black parts. That is the perfect pizza crust for me. Being that we live in the area now, we will surely be back. read more

We just got our pan pizza and a steak bomb delivered tonight. We realize that this pandemic is taking it's toll on everyone and restaurants are stressed out with all the take-out orders. But: Our pizza was so burned we had to throw it out. The steak in the steak bomb was also burned and not edible. So that means you have two people who don't know a damn thing about cooking. Disgraceful. The delivery guy had to call for directions because the girl who took the order couldn't write the address down correctly. Another looser. Great night - - - $28.00 FOR NOTHING !!!!!!!!!! One other thing, the delivery guy was very nice but he was not wearing a mask when he came to the door. We are a senior living association and need to be careful. read more

So this a middle of the road rating because we got two different types of pizzas; deep dish and regular. The first was a white pizza with garlic and basil as a thick pan. It was very good and I wished we stayed with it. We ordered the house special thin crust which was horrible. It was so soggy the pie would not come out of the box. Haven't had the pizza so that review is TBD. The steak and cheese sub is the best one one I have had in years. It's huge, filled with steak, and did I mention it's huge? Some may think it's costly but I'll gladly pay $12-13 bucks for an almost two foot long sub stuffed with meat. Also, the salads are really good, I usually get the Caesar with Buffalo chicken fingers, their buffalo sauce really does it for me. Stachey's has been a staple pizza shop on route 28 in Salem for decades. Now that I've been in the area more, I stopped by. Deep dish or thick crust Sicilian-Style pizza, is something delicious when made correctly and a disaster when not. I decided to go for this test. Ordered a thick crust half pepperoni pie. The crust was cooked perfect: airy and chewy but substantive and lightly charred (key if you're doing it correctly). Generous amount of cheese and the pepperoni was curled and cooked to a wonderful crunch. Flabby pepperoni (Sal's) is NOT a good thing. At $11.00 this was a fair price and will serve two comfortably. I'm an Italian pizza snob and thus do not award 4-stars on a whim. I'll be back to check out their regular pizza and calzones. read more
