My experience over the last 2 years with State Farm with my roof and inside my house has been one of the worst things I've encountered. My house is now almost 18 years old and for 2 years I have been fighting to replace my full roof and damage inside from not one but 2 major storm and wind damages. I have have lost count of how many contractors I who have just given up or wouldn't touch it because they were like state farm is awful and patching a roof that is crumbling they wouldn't touch. Then through a friend who was sharing my story I met Keith. They came to my house on a Sunday spent 3 hours listening to my story and going through all the paperwork. He didn't make me any promises we would win BUT he did promise he would be by my side and use every tool he knew to try and fight them. And he honored his word! He got me connected to Public adjustor company who we worked with on various stuff, he did drone test and pictures, arguing with State Farm etc. Even more amazing if that during this time I had some temporary gray pieces of tarp to try to protect my house. I was also in a battle with with my Homeowners Association. And yes he got engaged in that to helping me write letters, sending his own, offering to testify at meetings etc. all while we continue to fight insurance. Then HOA wanted to fine me $700 a day and he did what no one else would and put temp pieces where it was visible to the neighborhood to get them off my back. I know this was against everything he believed in doing BUT to help me deal with the HOA and not get charged monthly till a resolution with insurance he did it. This finally went all the way to the insurance commissioner. I'd love to say we won that fight but let's call it "draw". I received some reimbursement but still not enough to fix everything inside or the roof so it still not over as I have one more option left. But in the meantime I have to fix the roof now so no more damage happens. My main point I want to leave anyone with who is considering SWC Construction is Stop Considering AND Just Do It! They are great partners and truly a God sent. They have gone above and beyond and their service is like they are family who got your back. Regardless of the final result, partnering with Keith and Georgie has been the best decision out of a horrible situation no one should have to encounter or try to fight alone. They were responsive to my request, provided a quote, and came out the next morning to complete the work. Tommy was prompt to arrive, assessed and confirmed the situation, and explained to me what was happening each step of the way. He's a man that is proud of his craft and trade, and does things right. Even though it wasn't included in the quote, he helped me paint the replacement vent covers. He called out some other things I would have never noticed, and helped me clean out my dryer duct, which was clogged with a birds nest and about a pound of lint! This is a very important thing to check, as a clogged dryer vent is a common cause of house fires! Hiring contractors will always cost money, and often times, people get consumed by cost. Well, people's time and their service cost money. Maybe you could save a few bucks here or there, but will the work be done right? Is the contractor rushing through your job to get to the next? Value isn't just a dollar figure; it's a function of a cocktail of things important to you. For me, that would be saving time, getting things done right, and relieving me of potential life threatening injuries. I have had to call them out multiple times for shingles falling and now we have a leak that they refuse to repair. The guy they sent out John asked if he could run a water hose down the hole (caused by the poor installation) to prove the roof didn't cause the leak. What sense does that make? They pull a team of people who don't speak English. Will leave nails throughout your yard. They dented our drains and are very very slow to respond when their product fails. My neighbors also used this company and have had similar poor experience. Now I have to repair the damage caused by a poor roof installation and take them to court. Salesman "missed" things in the quote that were later ironed out and included but it took some small pushback from me, and I am not sure every customer would have done the same. Work took a little longer than promised but the guys were generally good and kept the area around their work clean and picked up. Siding crew was very good and the walk through after their work required just a minor touch up or two. The paint crew was not as good, and they had to come back twice to finish the work as discussed. The key is having a good project manager, and I was fortunate with James. He stayed on top of things, responded within 24 hours and had both crews come back to finish the work properly. He even noticed things I would have missed. We did choose the interest free financing, and it has been a little confusing to understand their billing and statements though a call did clear that up. I would recommend Pacific, but I would make sure you are diligent about the quote process and make sure you establish a good relationship with the project manager.
