Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Stable Foundations. Our project ended up in a court case filing due to Oscar's lack of response after an issue.
I reached out to Oscar and received a verbal quote for a patio to be poured. When he came to our home to view where the project would be, understandably because of the job we asked, he raised the quote. We came to an agreement for the cost if we paid cash and they could work on the weekend (per his request). We agreed to proceed and they came to complete the project a few weeks later.
We were first disappointed as the dirt was poured in our front yard without notice that he would put it there (and not the driveway), which damaged our grass. We still have damage from this. We were initially pleased as we monitored the project, but as they proceeded we then noticed they were not digging to the agreed grade beam depth, which when asked, they told my husband "don't worry papa" - until he asked them again to do what we agreed to (and paid for) and finally they did. When the job was complete, they removed the forms. They did this very quickly for the scale of the job. The last form they tried to remove was too wet, so they removed it, it began to collapse, then they replaced it back. It was already damaged at this point due to the early, rushed removal. Because Oscar knew my husband worked with concrete, he told him to just remove it the next day and that they were finished. My husband asked if they would be back and he said no "it would be extra to send someone back". Oscar was paid in full at this time. 30 minutes after they left, Oscar called to try to say that we shorted him $300, which we did not. He later texted apologizing for the call/accusation and acknowledged we paid correctly. We proceeded to clean up after the crew and their loose concrete for 2 hours after they left. The next morning, we removed the form to see the damaged, collapsed side of the patio - as we expected due to their rush. I sent photos to Oscar, which he responded he would send his dad in 2 weeks to fix it. Two weeks later, he never came. I reached out and Oscar kept delaying due to various given reasons. After a month, he stopped responding completely.
At this point, we filed with the BBB to try to help resolve/repair, which he did not respond to their requests. We then filed a case in court. When he responded after being served, he claimed he damaged his phone and "forgot" about my texts. I know this is false, because he has his read receipts turned on, so I can tell that he did in fact read and receive my messages, he just chose not to respond. He then noted that the cost should've been much more "due to inflation", but Oscar's quote was on par with the 5 other quotes we received, so that is untrue (especially when they were able to use leftover materials from other jobs - saving that cost).
The repair that was necessary can be considered "easy" - but he was unwilling to make it right. I would not recommend Stable Foundations after this process that could've been very simple, but Oscar made difficult. read more
