A few years ago we started getting bids and prioritizing projects for our home. Back then 2018? Quality Foundation came a looked at our place and provided opinions and quotes. They were professional then- memorably so. Fast forward to 2024, I called them back and said we are ready to do the job. Of course prices change and that's understandable. They "repaired" the foundation on my home yet every 2-3 years I have to spend thousands of dollars to fix cracks in the interior of the home as a result of the foundation continuously shifting. To these professionals, it looks like my foundation was never repaired. For all practical purposes, the foundation hasn't been repaired. The lifetime warranty offered by Quality Foundation Repair is virtually useless because it doesn't cover any cosmetic damage caused by the repair. For example, if any beams inside my home need replacing, QFR would tear up my floor and the concrete to fix the beam, and I'd be responsible to fix the floor, even though the damage is the result of the warranty work done by QFR. If you are going to use them, get an air-tight warranty. Ask that the warranty include the following: 1. QFR is responsible for repairing any cosmetic damage caused as a result of their warranty work. If they have to tear up your floor or yard to repair a beam, they should pay for the full cost of restoring your home or yard. 2. The foundation work should be specifically designed to prevent the house from moving up or down as a result of soil expansion or contraction. Great work, great communication, and easy to work with! We originally reached out to Quality Foundation and several other foundation companies in March 2024. We made a mistake and did not choose Quality Foundation at the time - we went with a company that recommended less work (and was of course, cheaper). A year later, we were in the middle of a kitchen remodel and moved out of the house when we discovered last year's foundation work (from other company) was poorly done, and our floors weren't properly supported and had already shifted significantly - especially in areas where Quality Foundation had previously recommended re-enforcement. We paused all work on the remodel. Our remodel's project manager called in a trusted foundation expert, which happened to be Quality Foundation. Quality Foundation came out quickly to inspect, and this time we took their recommendations. We had super helpful conversations with Simon about the work, and a week later, everything was finished. They went the extra mile and hauled out the dirt they had dug up into our crawlspace (this might sound funny, but we have an encapsulated crawlspace instead of just dirt on the ground). I recently noticed some cracks in my foundation and wanted to get an expert opinion on the severity. I called Quality Foundation Repair and described the issues I was seeing. They asked me to send pictures of the cracks which I did shortly afterwards. They said it was likely nothing to worry about, but they offered to send someone out to take a look out of due diligence. Deciding whether or not to write this took a while to think about. I wanted to be fair to the company but also to people looking for .. uhhh. .. quality. I will say it's tough to judge when you don't meet with them - and therein lie the problem. On a Monday, I sent an email asking about availability to come do a bid. As this was 360+ miles away, I wanted to be SURE an appointment was set. A couple of hours later, having not heard (received a reply), I called and talked with Milton. I had a long trip ahead, first to Elgin for the bid (360mi), then to the North Dallas area (215+ mi), then back to the beginning, another 350+ miles. Also factoring my need for expediency is I am taking care of my brother (and now his house in Elgin) who has dementia as well as my own house in North Texas. My wife had gone to Elgin a month prior and gotten 2 bids for foundation work. 1 was very low, 1 was very high, but very complete. I wanted a 3rd and according to Yelp, Quality had some very good reviews. I was hoping for a Tuesday or Wednesday appointment, but Milton said the soonest they could be there was Thursday - 10:30 or 1:30. Although I did ask if there was anything earlier, at which point he talked to ???, he said no, nothing until Thursday, I said that the earlier one would have to do. So I drove. 360+ miles. I got a hotel in advance . I was at the house @ 9, in case anyone showed up early. At 10:40, after no one showed, I called to make sure someone was on their way. Milton said I hadn't made an appointment. I reminded that I had said that "the earlier time would have to do". He said he "understood why I would think that"... huh? He then replayed the taped original conversation, which was pretty as I said it. So I complained. To which he said "I can understand why you would feel that way". I again pointed out not only that I DID make that appointment but that I wasn't happy with this result. Again "I understand why you would feel that way". I pointed out that he seemed incapable of recognizing his error and, btw, you *don't* understand how I feel unless you drove that far for an appointment that you had scheduled. AGAIN "I can understand why you would feel that way". I then asked if they could get anyone out today. The reply, I think, was not until next week. He let me know "I could leave a key under a doormat or something". I have trust issues. I have larger trust issues with someone who has shown they could not be trusted. And I did not care for what I took as condescending attitude from his part. I'm sure he can understand "why I would feel that way". While I was driving the next 200+ miles for another appointment, the owner called and left a voicemail. He apologized and said he listened to the conversation and agreed an appointment had been made and left me his number. I was already out (1) a day's worth of travel, (2) price of a hotel, and (3) aggravation. There was nothing he could say that would change either the outcome or put a smile on my face. So, whereas, gee, SOMEone at least apologized, that was a whole lot to go thru for *literally* NOTHING. I'm sure the loss of 1 customer is no big loss. My warning is: they may or may not be a decent company, Milton may be a good human being, but even if I was local, it was not worth the effort. It shouldn't have been difficult. at all. We have two projects on a house we recently bought -- previous owners notched a load bearing support beam (silly rabbits) on one side of the house to avoid re-routing plumbing pipes that caused the floor to sink 1"+. On the other side of the house, they added a 2nd story addition and the foundation done was substandard for the weight, so our floor is dipping in some areas. Marco came recommended from both a neighbor and a close friend of ours who both had work done in the last couple of months. He is professional, thorough and reasonably priced. He listened to all our concerns, offered several suggestions and made sure we knew what to expect during the whole process (e.g. wall cracks when the house was lifted to install new piers and beams). His team is efficient and respectful of how disruptive a project like this could be. His site manager, Juan, also took the time to walk along our perimeter and offer tips to help us reduce (even eliminate) the risk of more work needing to be done in the future, which was appreciated (we are now adding french drains to the list of honey do projects!). Revised on 9/9/2022. Simon contacted me again. The communication was friendly and easy. He wanted his customer to be happy so he made the correction. I'm turned into a happy customer again! Revised on 9/7/22. The owner, Simon, contacted friendly and tried some correction to solve the issue. We will see how it eventually landed. They simply don't admit their own faults. The way they do the hydrostatic , which a test required after a foundation repair is wrong. They did it outside the house/foundation and said it's failed. I had to spend another $1000 to hire my own camera plumber and an RPM (above master plumber level) to prove a passing hydrostatic test and the way they did was wrong. Since then, no customer service, no emails response no nothing. They just don't want to admit their fault and correct it. You are lucky if everything goes fine. read more

As a 40 year Master Plumber, I have seen multiple foundation issues affecting both water and wastewater systems. I always silently said to myself "I hope this never happens to me". I first noticed a seam pulling apart in my ceiling. I blamed it on myself for not being delicate while storing items in my attic space. Over the next few months the seam in the Sheetrock expanded in length and began pulling apart to the next sheet. Then I noticed the tile on the floor had a crack the entire width of the room directly under the ceiling Sheetrock crack. Hoping it would stop settling, I let it go a few months and the ceiling split expanded wide enough I could see the the wood o the ceiling joist. I had 9 different companies giving me bids over a one month period. I did my due diligence and eliminated the use of concrete cylinders (how can they stack straight and not flex while being driven into the ground and not loose maximum support). Marco came out on time and took elevations and measurements. He answered all of my concerns and returned all of my phone calls promptly. They were not the cheapest bid (less than $200.00) but after going to their shop and seeing the fabrication of the heavy steel they use and after reading all available reviews and their YouTube videos I decided on Quality Foundation. They were right on time and fully prepared to start. They were all very personable and friendly and again answered all of my concerns about utility lines and sprinkler piping. They started at 7:30 and were done at 2:10. The cleanup was flawless, an amazing repair on concrete they had to remove and they were cautious not to disturb any landscape plantings that were in the work area. Now here comes the best part. After the crew left Marco called to see if was happy and satisfied with the work that was completed. Marco then tells me that the crew leader determined that they could do without one pier by expanding the distance between the piers on the side of the garage. Marco brought this to my attention and deducted the cost of the eliminated pier. I would have not been aware if Marco hadn't told me he was making the deduction. The structural engineer came out and inspected the work, also complementing the crew on the excellent work and concrete repair. We called Quality Foundation for an estimate to level our 44-year-old house in the Oak Hill area. The engineer was very professional and explained in detail what he was doing. We received two estimates. One was to address an immediate problem and the other was to address all the leveling issues. There was no pressure and in fact we waited about 6 to 8 months before starting the job. On April 8, 2024, the installation crew arrived a little after 7:30. We had chosen to address the whole house which included installing 14 piers. The Crew Chief and I did a walk around the house to verify the location of the piers and what they would need to move. The crew started their work. There were four men on this crew, and they were very efficient and organized. They had to make 4 cuts through the driveway and patio. It was noisy at times, but we expected that. Toward the end of the job, a third-party Engineer showed up to inspect the work. To conclude this lengthy review, the work was completed and they were cleaning up by 12:45. By 1:00 PM they were gone and except for the fresh poured concrete you couldn't tell they had been here. We had the hydro static test completed and have since received our Engineering Certificate. They have done a total of four houses on my street. It's rare to find such a trustworthy contractor like Oliver and his foreman, they worked with me to make sure my expectations were met and I didn't try to go too far in the foundation adjustments. But it's Austin so chances are, you'll be doing foundation repair at some point. 7 years ago when we noticed a pen rolling across the floor in our back bedroom, we called Quality Foundation Repair. They promised a lifetime warranty. They were clear, professional, did what they said they'd do, and we were done! So why I am writing 7 years later. Well, honestly, I figured like most businesses offering lifetime guarantees they really hoped they'd never hear from me again. BUT THEY CALLED ME. YEP---you heard me---7 years later they called me just to make sure my foundation repair was holding up. And offering to come out for a free inspection (which happened today) and when the inspector wasn't sure if he was getting great numbers, he recommended we check again in August when it was bone dry to get a second reading. It was actually the same inspector I had 7 years before---his name was still in my cell phone! How great is that? The same person was still working there. And they are really following up on their product. So far, we haven't had any additional problems---their fix has stayed fixed! But it's good know (this being Austin) that if there is a problem, help is just a phone call away and it won't be a hassle to get to them to come out. I was 100% impressed. read more

What a stand up company. Honest, insightful, knowledgeable, and all around good people. Cons: Had a bit of a hard time with initial contact. I got the voicemail most of the time. I did get a call back but i was busy so just your typical phone tag. Took about a week before i was able to get ahold of someone. But the original call back was 24hrs. So while that wasn't a perfect experience it wasn't that bad either. Pros: Once talking they were very friendly and accommodating. Had several appointment opportunities to allow me to flex my schedule. They got me a confirmation email as well as a call the night before confirming the time may need to bump 30 minutes due to travel time. Non issue and appreciated the communications. Also it ended up only being about 15 minute delay. I had some cracks in the ceramic tile, noticed more and more cracks in the dry wall, some growing more significant. As well as some cracks in the foundation outside. I have a concrete slab foundation. Marco was the one who came on site for the evaluation. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. He was even considerate enough to take off his work boots when entering the home. He did an evaluation inside and outside, made conversation and got after it. Maybe 30-45 minutes total. He used a really interesting tool (a cool toy in my nerd book) and took elevation measurements around the home sharing some of the differences with me. He made a sketch of the house with the different measurements and we reviewed. Marco explained to me my house was within reasonable tolerances for its age and type. He put me at ease while explaining what he saw and what to look for. Instructed me to take some pictures of a few cracks and monitor quarterly, and if expansion occurs to call him after giving me his card. He also made some recommendations on gutters and water run off to help protect erosion around my foundation. I was really pleased with the response time and feedback. Then to boot they didn't charge for the evaluation. I mean seriously he drove from Del Valley to North Round Rock and spent time here and didn't even charge me an evaluation fee. Marco was charming until it came time to get documentation that the work on our foundation was completed and he had been paid. We were supposed to get an engineers certification of the work done, we never did. After numerous attempts to contact Marco we are still without documentation of the completed foundation repair. When we call the office he's either on vacation, out on a job or otherwise detained. What a disappointment. We're sorry we used this company, they are not what they said they are. We have been waiting over 5 years for a simple document, what's the problem, was the work not completed per contract, we're too old to be crawling under the house to verify if it was.
