It wasn't overfried and dripping in grease. Actually tasted fairly healthy, with just a bit of breading. Lettuce was solid. The carrots and cheese were good too. Service was good. I love the two St. Nicholas breweries I've been to. This is their original location n in an old building from the 1870's made from since extinct American chestnut wood. The staff were friendly and welcoming. They recommended the special chicken fajita grilled cheese and it was a good choice. Served with a choice of sides (broccoli). A wide variety of beer (I recommend the Blood Orange Ale). Great place to stop in. read more

It was pouring down rain and we had some time to spare after visiting the Pierre Menard home before checking into our B&B in PdR so we decided to get drinks & a snack. GPS told us where to turn but there was a big truck coming & the road didn't look like where we should be so we missed it & were rerouted around the block. It was just after lunchtime on a Friday & there were 2 tables finishing up but otherwise empty. I was surprised to find only the corner table had a view. It hadn't been cleaned & the receipt was still on it but we sat down. The bartender came over right away to clean it. Menus but no drink menu. I ordered an Octoberfest & my husband asked for Buffalo Trace but they were out. Bartender offered to get him some Jefferson from upstairs. Ok so we ordered boneless chicken wings too. Wait, there's an upstairs? Is that where the great views are? Did we miss that because we came in the back way? I went to the bathroom, didn't see any stairs anywhere. Drinks arrived quickly but the wings took forever. Nobody else in the room where we were or at the bar. Is there an upstairs full of people ordering food? Idk When the wings finally arrived they were hot but barely sauced in Asian bbq so pretty dry. One star minus for no napkins with the drinks, barely any soap the first time I used the bathroom & none the second time, dry wings. And if there is an upstairs they need better signage. Not a bad place for a small town & they do sell their beer glasses embossed with their name. We bought 2. We'd give it another chance. read more

Service? Angel was one of the best waitresses I've had in a LONG time! Food? It was GREAT! I ordered the Maple Bacon Pizza off of the brunch menu (I didn't even KNOW they had BRUNCH!!!) and it was excellent. Quite the mix of flavors! The Loaded Bloody was AWESOME, both in accoutrements and flavor of the drink itself. My friend ordered a Prime Rib sandwich which was supposed to come with horseradish sauce. She didn't want that, so Angel suggested a garlic aioli instead which turned out to be a really good suggestion. She gave me a bite of her sandwich and it was MELT IN YER MOUTH! And SO tasty!!! We also shared an appetizer of Landmark Fries that was absolutely delicious. For a brewery, they had a wonderful selection of cocktails, which are always my go-tos. Tables are spread out and the waitresses wear masks. This place really is really old, and they seem to be doing a good job keeping it up. After much deliberation, my wife and I came here for a date night. Well, I happened to hit the jackpot because there was a crab leg special, and that's my absolute favorite food. While not cheap, the crab was fresh and plentiful ($37 for 2 lbs). To drink, I had the blood orange APA and it was very refreshing and not bitter in the least. We also had the beer fries as an appetizer. They were good, but not as hot as they should've been and a little skimpy on the toppings. In agreement with the other reviews, the service could use improvement. We arrived late (8 pm) and despite a relatively empty restaurant, everything except the salad took a little longer than it should have. I think we waited about 20 minutes for the beer fries. But the food quality was excellent, so I'm only taking away one star. read more

I've been here a couple times. The crab special was fantastic. Unfortunately the second time we came, it had run out at 630 pm. I enjoyed the spinach artichoke dip appetizer, but the loaded fries were not great. I got the burger with egg, which was gooey and delicious. The prime rib sandwich was good, but it had horseradish which I hate ( I didn't see it in the description) so I ended up switching with my husband. He had gotten a steak, and it was okay. Service can be on the slow side. Overall I love the location and we plan to come back. read more

Our food was very good. The french fries and fish sandwich were great. We enjoyed the ambience of this historic brew pub. The service couldn't have been better--adding to the enjoyment of our meal. We're spreading the word that this is a great place to enjoy an evening out. Our first time here, we are from Indianapolis visiting family, the food was great, service was horrible, our waitress was so confused, we had a party of 6 we ordered drinks the beer came out before our water, when our food finally came out mine did not I was told it should be right up 20 mins. later it finally was brought out, the bill was another mess out bill was for someone else table, we loved the the food the Bike Rolls where are favorites, we will probably go back and give it another try, hopefully they will get the service straightened out. read more

Friendly and attentive staff with great food and a very cool historic building right on the Mississippi river. This place would be great for large parties as they have two full floors of dining rooms (the upper has a great view of the river) with a large party room upstairs. Went here a few weeks ago. Service was horrible! Ordered drinks for a party of 5 and one drink came out soon. When we asked for the others we were told the bartender was working on it. 30 mins later finally got the other drinks after asking several times. The food was ok. Better than fast food but nothing I would rave about. They weren't busy and just seemed poorly organized and ran. Don't believe I'll be back. read more
