Found this place on my first trip thru the boot heel of MO. Unique place lots of character. Decor eclectic but perfectly curated. Staff were very friendly and knowledge about their impressive beer selection. Had the Utopia in Ruins draft. Well balanced but complex. Was passing through so had to stop at one although they had others that looked interesting. Menu was on the gastropub side. Had the Ebb burger (yummy with the burger sauce) and very impressed with the roasted sweet potatoes (lots going on there with the aioli and chimichuri). Definitely recommend. read more

We enjoy trying eateries that are interesting & new to us while we are traveling. Today was no exception. Driving from Illinois to Memphis, we were getting hungry just before we hit Cape Giradueau. Lucky for us, Ebb & Flow popped up in a Yelp search. This great little place has such a cool vibe, and is situated on a corner in the historic downtown area. You can feel the vibe immediately upon entering, and two employees were front and center, giving friendly advice on the menu. They are so many interesting things on the menu, with a vegetarian bent. Food orders are placed at the counter and delivered tableside. We settled on the roasted sweet potatoes as an app, then the Mushroon Gyro for me & the Chicken gyro for my husband. The toasted sweet potatoes are a symphony for both the eyes and the mouth, with such perfectly married flavors. The mushroom gyro had much the same flavor & many shared ingredients. While it was tasty, I found it too rich to finish. I take the blame for this, for not having read the menu carefully enough. The interior of this place is everything! If we lived in the area, I'm positive we would be regulars, as this is just the perfect space to hang out in. Cute eatery, beer hall and Biergarten in Cape Girardeau's historic district . Lots of charm. Cozy and eclectic vibe. They have a large selection of beers. I enjoyed a great porter, the Love Child flatbread, tomato bisque, and roasted sweet potatoes. Our group also got the Electric Avenue flatbread, grilled cheese, brie and pulled pork skillet and the pear salad. All delish. Big portions and lots of leftovers. There is a red sauce that's on many of the menu items that I could use less of, but that would be my only complaint. Friendly staff. Recommend!! read more

We were in Cape for kids State Wrestling Championships, we spent 12 hours in a gym standing on a concrete floor listening to whistles and parents screaming "get 'em." As we waited I went to Yelp to find local food/beer, because after a day in a gym listening to whistles and parents yelling "get 'em" the light at the end of the tunnel is beer. We got the E&F about a quarter to nine and learned the kitchen closes at 9. Dammit, we don't want to be those guys but the waitress/bartender/hostess/generally awesome person said it was no problem. We got the hot Italian dip, smoked cream cheese, and potatoes appetizer. All top notch. I got the BLT grilled cheese, which was top two best BLTs of my life. One friend got the shrimp roll which he said was good. Other guy got the chicken flat bread which was also awesome. Had some beers. The Brown was great, the Belgian Strong was great, it was late and that was all I could really handle after the long day in a gym. Go have a beer and a great BLT. Thank me later. read more

You will enjoy your time here Really just about every beer was very good and that's the most important criteria. But we also had a flat bread dish and my wife declared it excellent. The inside is awesome, let's just go ahead and get that out of the way. If you want to really feel cozy, go in the evening and sit in one of the corners with one of their many beer selections. The lights and all the eclectic art pieces allude coolness. The food is tasty, and service was attentive and welcoming. Everything here was better than can be described by a Yelp review. The bartender was welcoming and knowledgeable about all that was served there. We had the fried goat cheese and sweet potatoes to start. 10/10 recommend! Flavor that you would expect from a high end fancy restaurant, but at a very reasonable price and laid back atmosphere. The knockout smash burgers were delicious. Really wanted to try the cookie dough bites for desert but couldn't hold it thanks to the generous portions. One of the coolest places in Cape to relax with a beer is the patio at Ebb & Flow it's well maintained and provides the perfect atmosphere. The beer selection isn't too shabby either, but it's hard to recommend a drink as they rotate the collection often. This place is where you want to be if you're in the Cape area. read more
