She went above and beyond for our family. She listened, gave options, was honest, understanding, compassionate, and thoughtful. I was impressed by the personal treatment that she gave to my daughter. Stacy valued my daughters input and made her feel appreciated in the whole planning process. Stacy made herself available any time during for any questions, concerns, requests, that we had. When we walked into the funeral home, it gave you a very home like feeling, not depressing more inviting, and it smelled fresh. They have the room for the viewing, a back room for refreshments. I made a video to play of pictures that was easily hooked up to the TV from my Mac and Spotify playlist to be played during the visitation. The whole establishment was spotless from the parking lot to the bathrooms. As I look back, Riverwoods was absolutely 100% the right choice and would not go anyplace else. I would recommend Riverwoods to anyone that might need these services. I was very pleased with the operations of this establishment. They went above and beyond for my family. They are genuinely good and caring people, they take the time to help during extremely difficult times. Stacy was an angel of compassion at a time when I physically and mentally exhausted and was in desperate need of a helping hand. I'm extremely grateful for everything they have done and can't thank them enough for being there for my family.

We had the funeral service in their Provo funeral home and the graveside service in Heber City. Lance Nelson and his staff, Isabelle, Claire and Colin, were very patient and compassionate as I shed many tears each time I called the funeral home prior to my granddaughter's expected death and after. They listened each time I called and were very helpful. I called them every day during the two weeks of planning with questions I had about things, and it was great that someone was always available to help me; and if I had a question after hours, the answering service took a message, and I was contacted shortly thereafter. The rooms for the service in Provo were beautiful and had mountain views. Everything went smoothly. They provided tables with tablecloths, easels and stands for the flowers, two slideshows (for the viewing and a separate one for the funeral service), and livestreams for both services. Lance and Allison attended the funeral service and graveside service to make certain everything went smoothly. The planning meeting with them was easy. They had caskets onsite which was a surprise, and we picked the one we liked best. We expressed to them how we wanted the services to go, and they did every single thing the way we wanted. They also made my granddaughter look very beautiful in her casket for the viewing. She wore a single braid and they inserted tiny silk flowers we provided them plus matching nail polish. We received many compliments about how beautiful the funeral services were. I suggest you have the butterfly release, as it was extraordinary. If you're looking for a mortuary for a loved one, pick this place! I'm certain your experiences will be like ours: easy planning, and the most beautiful send off for your loved one. My family, friends and I will have these memories forever! I was even able to watch the service again on their website so that I remember each and every detail of it forever. Also, my sister who couldn't attend on the day of the service was able to watch it at a later date.

The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Before his passing, we had an initial visit with Michael regarding plot selection and he was helpful with helping us pick the location that best met our needs. No pressure, just a friendly visit and discussion. After he passed, we then worked with Sherry and Arlene to purchase the plot, casket, vault, shroud, death certificates, etc. The cost was substantial, but I imagine it is likely in line with other Jewish cemeteries in the area. Included in the cost is perpetual care of the grounds so there are no additional fees down the road. The chapel for his service was very nice and all of the people working there that day were super friendly. They live streamed his service which many in my family used. They also provided the ability to download the service which I decided to do. Shalom Memorial received the death certificates a few days afterwards from the village and we picked them right away so we could begin sending them to those who needed them. I really can't think of anything that I didn't like or was disappointed in.

While this process is always difficult, it couldn't have been easier or more smooth. Tony was wonderful: caring, thoughtful, resourceful, patient, and quick. He moved us through the decision-making process easily, recommended a rabbi and a Shiva location, and made things happen. The services were beautiful and meaningful, and our pain was eased because there was no additional stress. Many thanks from the Sandler family.

Since I lost the fear of visiting cemeteries, and attending funeral parlors, wakes, and interments, I have learned and seen so much. If I had to relive this part of my life again (i.e., burying my dad), I would have selected another location. The maintenance at Eden is very poor. Staff are quick to take down anything you put up, despite of how much it could have cost you. For example, after my dad died, I bought and then planted a dwarf willow tree for his tomb. The next time I came to see my dad, the tree was missing. I had also bought a couple wrought iron benches for us to sit on whenever we visited (since my mom can't stand for long), and those were also dismantled and thrown out in the area where the pick up truck is kept, way on the SW side of the cemetery. I found my dismantled benches on top of a mound of black dirt and debris (i.e., junk?). I pulled out my bench pieces and took them back home. I could not find my willow tree. If you happen to visit the tomb of a deceased on a day posted as "open," and you happen to need the restroom urgently, you will be very lucky if you find the facilities available! This was the case on 4-23-16 245p, Saturday. My brother came from Oklahoma to see my dad, and had the urge to urinate. Unfortunately, the office was locked and so was the rest-room... so he had to take a ziplock bag and urinate behind my car door-- for privacy! The best they can do is have a Porta-Potty so people can use it when the office is closed. I won't mention how the grounds are kept because that would take me quite a while to finish up, but in summary... these are deplorable! You can't walk on the grounds without your feet sinking into the ground pits. It is obvious that the owners are only interested in profiting from the sales of plots, headstones, and benches. By the way, when I complained about my benches being dismantled and removed from my mom and dad's plots, I was told the only benches allowed were the ones they sold! I was also told that with respect to the willow tree, that the contracts we get, indicate that before we put anything on the grounds, including our owned plots, we must inform the office staff so they can authorize or refuse to authorize their placement. In Summary: You think you own it, but you really don't!
