If not, you need…read moreto figure things out pretty quickly and Caring Cremations makes things easy with a website where you can choose your options and have upfront pricing which seems pretty reasonable. They also offer services and online obituaries, etc. but it's a very easy option for a simple cremation and all the accompanying requirements (just pay the money for at least 5-10 death certificates, you'll probably need them). I wouldn't recommend filling out the online forms on a regular phone as things can be small for reading and you don't want to risk a typo in the official documents but the whole process is pretty simple on a tablet, laptop, or full size computer monitor. I didn't complete all the online documents until late in the evening but they showed up way down in Oak Lawn early the next morning to pick up my father. Expect timing to be roughly a week after that unless you need expedited service, but standard timing was fine for my needs. The funeral home for pickup near Pulaski & Addison can have congested traffic, especially during rush hour or when there's a Cubs game, but there is an easy parking lot in back or delivery to your home is an option as well. Not a place you hope to deal with, but a helpful option for many to get things done when needed.

Which has significantly compounded my family's grief during an already profound difficult period . The incident occurred when I attempted to obtain essential documentation pertaining to my parents funeral services.. as I lost both parents some time ago leaving a state of emotional vulnerability. My request was straightforward and I believe entirely reasonable. I sought to obtain copies of the Funeral service for both my mother and father. These documents are for my personal records and reference.. from a common and expected request from a greving next of kin. However my experience with Delphine was deeply upsetting. Unacceptable.. when I presented my request she unequivocally refused, asserted that I had not paid personally paid for a funeral services. Incorrectly claim that my Sister covered the expenses for my father's funeral. I must clarify that assertion is entirely false the cost of my father service directly through his estate. Beyond a factual inaccuracy Dalphine demeanor, was dismissive, unprofessional, and frankly rude to my establishment and dismay during our conversation. I believe I inherited the right to access these Vital records. Dolphine conduct was not only merely unhelpful insensitive and a complete dereliction of the compassionate support that Grieving families rightfully expect from a Funeral service provider. Her enormous claims and hostile attitude served only to escalate my distress and add to immense pain. I am already experiencing.. the core expectation from any establishment assisting families during difficult times of their loss is offering understanding, empathy and respectful service. Instead, I encounter such a profound lack of respect and professionalism is my view inexcusable for a funeral service.

And the person using the services will never rate it on Yelp or ever use Yelp again. We choose this location because it was the neighborhood my grandfather grew up in. We figured since all the neighbors knew him, then we should do it local for everyone. No issues here. Everything went off without a problem. The CTA blue line stops here at Chicago Ave. LAZ parking has a ton of spots right outside. There is a subway for a quick snack. And The Matchbox if you need a drink to get through the service. Also a CVS for some aspirins if you have a headache. So you are covered if you need anything.

One of my daughter's friends has lost her mother and recommended Inclusive Funeral Care. We we sat down with Russ Henrichsen to arrange transport from Glenbrook Hospital for eco-friendly water cremation. He asked if there was particular music my deceased wife enjoyed, to which I replied, the Bonnie Raitt & John Prine version of "Angel from Montgomery." The fact that they asked this question led me to believe that we had chosen wisely. We then had Brooke Benjamin serve as Memorial Celebrant for a Celebration of the Life of Kitty at Chicago Botanic Garden. She met with the family in one extensive 2-hour session that included the daughters, myself, the deceased's brother and sister, asking us questions about our beloved's childhood, family life, hobbies, education, political activism, etc. Even though Brooke had never met my wife, she really extracted her essence.... so much so that 10 people (of the 150 in attendance) asked me "Who was Kitty's friend who ran the ceremony?" Short of resurrecting the dead, the celebration simply could not have been better. Kitty is now in our niche in Graceland Cemetery. Brooke was also very accommodating in allowing us to design our own memorial cards--we fell behind a bit in planning the cards, but things came together at the last minute. If you are looking for funeral directors who present you with a set of options in understandable, plain-English, then Inclusive Funeral Care is for you. Brooke and Russ are really excellent people. They were never heavy handed, allowing us to choose the format of the program. When they offered suggestions we choose not to follow (e.g. having live musicians), there was never any sign of disappointment. I just can not find the words to express how grateful I am to Russ and Brooke at Inclusive Funeral Care.

A few days before my grandfather passed, I reached out to prepare for what we knew was coming. They spoke with me patiently, explained everything clearly, and never once made me feel pressured or overwhelmed. The night before his passing, and again the morning of, I kept them updated as his condition changed. When I finally called to let them know he had passed, they arrived at our home within approximately 45 minutes -- even before hospice arrived to officially pronounce him. Their staff handled my grandfather with such dignity and gentleness that it brought an incredible sense of peace to an otherwise heartbreaking moment. They were calm, respectful, organized, and compassionate not only toward him, but toward our entire family. I especially want to recognize Russ, who was our primary point of contact throughout this process. He truly went above and beyond for our family in every possible way. During an incredibly emotional and stressful time, Russ was patient, responsive, compassionate, and genuinely caring. He took the time to answer questions, explain options honestly, and help us navigate difficult decisions without ever making us feel pressured. His kindness and professionalism made a lasting impact on our family, and I genuinely do not know how we would have managed this process without his guidance and support. What stood out most was their honesty and willingness to truly work with us financially. Instead of upselling unnecessary services, they actively helped us cut costs wherever possible while still ensuring my grandfather was cared for respectfully. They guided us through applying for Social Security funeral assistance, explained every expense transparently, and even arranged a manageable payment plan when funds were tight. In a time where grief can make families vulnerable, Inclusive Funeral Care treated us with integrity, empathy, and kindness. They made an overwhelming process feel manageable and humane, and I will never forget the care they showed our family during such a painful chapter. I am deeply grateful for everything they did for my grandfather and for us.

Losing someone you love is never easy, but the way they guided us through every step brought comfort when we needed it most. From the very first conversation, Bogdan Gal treated us not just as clients, but as family. His kindness, patience, and genuine empathy meant more than words can express. He handled every detail of the arrangements for Joanna Bednarz's funeral with the utmost dignity and respect. The service was truly beautiful -- thoughtful, elegant, and perfectly reflective of Joanna's life and spirit. Bogdan's steady guidance helped us feel supported and reassured through every decision. We are also deeply thankful to Renia, whose warmth and understanding comforted us from the moment we walked through the doors. She was incredibly organized, responsive, and gentle in every interaction, making a painful process feel a little less overwhelming. A heartfelt thank you as well to Donna and the entire staff. Every single person we encountered showed compassion, professionalism, and sincere care. Their attention to detail and quiet support during the service did not go unnoticed. They created an atmosphere of peace and respect that allowed our family to grieve, remember, and honor Joanna in the most meaningful way. In a time filled with sorrow, Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium provided light, comfort, and dignity. We will never forget the beautiful service they created for Joanna or the compassion they showed our family. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping us say goodbye with love and grace.
